[My] Life in Wisconsin

Berta's Toe; and Gabriels Face...

Good Morning All;

The above photo being one I took yesterday of Robertas foot! (And the underside looks even "prettier")! Ooooh... Those little piggies surely got squished and smushed...

But she does get into her shoes too! (Which, actually wasn't even necessary yesterday)... Record HIGHS all around the state! And we have already broken the high for today... Think it was 51 earlier! Thank God and Mother Nature!!! It was fabulous to run outside barefoot for even a few minutes!

No walk yesterday, but just played 'catch' with the dogs for a long time. It is SO nice not to get chilly as we were out there too.

CaseyAnne stopped out after hew new J.O.B. as "Stuffy~Person" yesterday afternoon. (Click on her name to visit her profile)...

(guess you have to go read her blog)...
.
.

She was going to do the grocery shopping for me too. (And forgot the list here)... It is always great to have her around too... even IF she had way too much fun on the computer while she was here. I don't think I have laughed THAT much in a long time; suffice it to say that I am anxiously awaiting her next blog entry!!! hehehe

.
.

Roberta and Master Gabriel here too! And she sang as she played with him!

How he LOVES his mama!
.
.

Later, he decided to take on the unforgiving wooden shelf with his face. He lost; squealing and crying and screaming... Completely inconsolable! Even the frozen green beans offered little comfort...

as Berta tried not to cry right along with him...
.
.

So much in pain... (Well, until the Oreo came out of the cupboard)!

Grandma knows how to fix these owies...
.
.

We laughed though, when the Oreo was gone he promptly went and gathered his hat and his coat. Clearly telling Mama it was time to go!

Punkie cannot stand to hear any of these babies cry.. neither can I...

'Hiding' in the entrance and just listening...
.
.

And that, my Dear Friends, was the silly extent of my 'yesterday' ...

XOXO

Anne (aka "The Hay~Girl")???

hehehe

Only 56% PURE??? What the heck is THAT all about???

Ponderous!

hehehe (... And my SHOES started to squeak)!

Good Morning!

Don't ask... ...(I have absolutely NO idea WHY I have that silly old song 'stuck in my head' this morning)!

Almost 40 degrees... As it has been for the longest time, (and no, I am still not complaining)!

Roberta came with Gabriel yesterday afternoon; and it's a good thing SHE remembered to come cut my hair because I had completely forgotten about it in the meantime... (I can blame it on that/THOSE injections)... And a note for whomever had said the injections did not work for them... I do NOT get the injections of Imitrex; it doesn't work for me anyway... When I get my shots they are comprised of demerol, phenergan and toradol (I believe 50mg of each). So please tell your doctor that you do not want to suffer anymore. You will need someone to bring you in for this injection as you are NOT permitted to drive within 24 hours of getting one...

As many of you (might) remember, last month I was SO very excited to be regaining the use of my right hand (index finger and thumb)... No that hasn't happened, but I am still doing all the p/t at home with the stretchy thingie and the weights.

Having left one of the weights out, Master Gabriel spied it and wanted to give it a try!

(What's that "10" mean on the side of it, Mama)?
.
.
Mama, I need HELP!
.
.
He needed reinforcements; and after looking around, (and scattering them all), he chose a pillow to prop it up on...
.
hehehe ...It just rolled off the pillow!
.
.
Not wanting to be outdone, and trying so hard to be patient as this scene unfolded before her eyes, Punkie wanted to give it a try too....
.
.
SUCCESS!!!
.
.
Master Gabriel watched her for a bit, and then she proclaimed that she was the winner!!!
.
.
Punk. The IRON DOG!!!
.
.

Oh, we had so much fun watching these 'kids' of ours. Punk, at 9 months now, can still a bit more rambunctious than necessary, and had to get put in the entrance a few times to calm her bones...

But upon being allowed re~entry, Miss Punk spied and grabbed the weight once more; promptly dropping it on Roberta's foot!!! -Roberta is now the proud owner of three purple and red toes! (Yeah, I do think they're broken)... But toes heal ('heel' hehehe) fast enough too. She will live. ...Just a bit 'gimpy' for a while!

And life goes on...

We did undecorate (mostly)... And since I have said for many years, I absolutely shall be getting a new tree for next year. And in order to accomplish this without further putting it off, I gave my old tree to Roberta! That really ought to make me get a new one... (or none at all)? Hmmm...

I did 'move' my computer too. (Where the frick did all that danged dust come from anyway)??? And I have the computer all set up on the little table out in the dining room for now. It is so much nicer (warmer) out here; especially when the furnace runs, and makes me all toasty warm! And am thinking that if it works out to do so, I might just keep it out here in summer too. I have a window A/C and use it in the living room, so come those nasty summer readings I can be comfy then too!

I'd better close and get on with my day.

Hope all is well in your little corner's' of the world!!!

XOXO

Anne

Yesterday... "Anna Gone Missing"...

Good Morning to All;

I am alive...

...And yes, CaseyAnne did bring me in for a hypo. Hence the title DOES make sense!

I remember sitting there, (at the office); waiting, (and waiting some more). Personally, I was just happy to be there, knowing that every minute either brought me closer to relief, or to the barfpan. (CaseyAnne does not see it this way, and absolutely hates to be kept waiting for any reason; whether it's in traffic or at the doctors office).

The doctor came in, only turning on one light (still I felt as though even that little light was trying to kill me too)... After a short conversation, he then ordered my shot.

The nurse came in a little while with 3 injections for me. Holy Mackeral, I knew this was a bad one (as far as migraines go), but 3 needles??? And I didn't care, even when she said, "Yes they are big ones too" And like my 'mouf' as of late, competing with a fullblown migraine, I did not even feel those shots... Barely anyway...

Within about 1/2 an hour I was feeling so much better; and always then I want to dance to celebrate this wonderful return to being painfree! Casey stopped at Best Buy, and I bought a printer, (YAY! and FINALLY), and a few programs for my computer too. (I do have a tendency to spend a few dollars after I get an injection and feel better)...

But of course because of those injections, I remembered NONE of this... We got back home, filled our faces with burgers from the A & W, watched the show, and I promptly fell asleep (read 'coma'), in the La-Z-Boy once more.

I awoke to a note on the table from Casey... She was happy to be looking forward to starting her new job today, and said she hoped my head feels better now. It actually does, but I know it will 'boomerang' once more today, but then by tomorrow I shall be ready for that dance!

Unca BoBBie woke me from my little coma about 7:30... And I remember thinking (as the phone kept ringing) 'why isn't Casey answering that?' But woke quickly enough too, thank goodness. He is in the process of getting a divorce- And at times is happy about it too. Other times it is sad to see too. One of those "Damned if you do, and damned if you don't" divorces. (But always ALWAYS so nice to speak to him too)!!!

Other than losing a day there is not much other news. I do have to be hooking up my new psc, and am probably going to be moving the computer to the front room... Knowing the weather is NOT going to remain so nice. (CAN IT)? And having no heat in this back room, and plenty out there, it makes sense to do this.

Perhaps I shall also begin to un~decorate also; leaving the creche up til the 8th.

This picture below is what I saw when I got up about 3:30. Having left the Punkster out... She was SO good yesterday; (if she bothered me at all I don't remember it, but I do not think she did... just waited patiently for me to wake up)...

The picture of the full moon...
.
.
and hiding behind a trail of vapors from an earlier jet. Wish it would have turned out a little better, but I think it looks pretty cool just the same!

.
.

Jan. 3, 8:57 a.m. EST - "The Full Wolf Moon". ...Amid the zero cold and deep snows of midwinter, the wolf packs howled hungrily outside Indian villages. It was also known as the 'Old Moon', or the "Moon After Yule." In some tribes this was the Full Snow Moon; although most applied that name to the next Moon.

I had better close and try to get caught up a bit here.

Have a grand day!!!

XOXO
Anne

The Polar Bear Pup...

YOKES!!!!

And yup, it's a picture of another rock for pity sakes! hehehe (And no, this one was not inspired by yet another dork on my dating site)!

(And for those of you not familiar with The Jacksonport Polar Bear Club in Door County, Wisconsin.. please CLICK HERE.)

– J.R. Jarosh

Good Morning!

(And shortly maybe for me I will be saying 'good night' too)!

I took quite an extended nap this evening, and that only screws up my sleep at night. (I didn't mean to be taking that nap... just sort of fell asleep in the recliner)!

And was woken by the Punkie~Pup trying to tell me she had a full bladder! She jumped on the chair, licking my face... (and ewww, leaving puppy~spit on my glasses too)... and then even barked a bit. Kind of an abrupt way to wake up; (We shall have to work on the gentle prodding)... That always worked best for me anyway...

Must have been ALL the sunshine! What a bright and beautiful day!

Milly, Punkie and I all headed back to the woods early... And once again, Miss Milly disappeared once we got to the woods. (What's up with THAT anyway)? Although today Punk was not as upset about her invisible Mama... Just every now and then she would check to see if she heard or saw Miss Milly anywhere...

And thus began our brand new 2007!!!!

For the life of me I cannot ever remember such a mild winter... (And may God know that from my lips to His ears I am NOT complaining)... But last night on the news the weatherboy said it was the 8th mildest on record... (The others MUST have been before MY time). hehehe For surely I would recall such warmth in December and January... (but as y'all know, sometimes my recall/'rememberer' doesn't work so well)!

But I do remember Dad...

Pa was the one that always called me at 11pm, on the dot, every New Year Eve... as the "ball" dropped in Times Square to wake me and to wish me a "Happy New Year". (I miss that, him, so much)...

And so I was so happy when Jennifer called from Texas as soon as my Little Man Isaiah had woken her up to wish me a Happy New Year! She sounds very happy, yet a little homesick. But that is sure to be expected. I am 'homesick' for them also, and for all of their little visits here too. (Uh~oh, somebody is getting wanderlust?)... Perhaps Miss Punk and I will have to swing over Texas way before/after seeing Lawrence in February...

But back to New Year Day in the woods...

...Punk and I went all the way down to the river. It almost beckons us to do so every now and then; (and how can one EVER resist the call of the river)?

Punkin. As we were only about one~third of the way down...

Dark, down at the bottom....

Still keeping an eye out for Mama

Dark too, amidst the cedars and all else.

And the river making such a noise. But oddly enough so very peaceful too. I swear that if I could have found a dry spot anywhere I do believe I would have taken that silly nap right there! And ALL the 'greens' on New Year Day! How perfect!

(I do SO need to find a little home by the water)...

As we walked to have found the teeny little beehive that will shortly be my background picture on my top page. And to have Miss Punkie try to win the battle of the vines once more... And then RUN! like the wind... But all is not safe for the little dog back there when she runs so close to the water...

BRAKES BABY! ...And she barely stopped at the rivers edge...
OK.
No, so her 'brakes' did not work too well and she didn't quite stop...
(But took this opportunity to try to even catch a fish too)...
This water is a might bit chilly...
Ooooooooh! ch~ch~ch~illy!!!
And, swimming against the current, she did make it out.
(After realizing it wasn't so nice in the water as it had been in the woods)!
After getting tripped up on a submerged branch. She tried to dislodge it, but it was not going to let her do that...
This now soaking wet dog trying so very hard to pull that darned branch out!

In the meanwhile I am actually fearing that she will wind up in the middle of the river and more than a bit downstream; (and since I surely did NOT feel like jumping in to pull her out, I did make her 'give up' on that branch)... Which she begrudgingly, but faithfully, did...

Now climbing back up the ridge is always so good for my thighs! Yet I don't mind telling you that I did lean on the dog... twice, as I'd almost lost my balance! Coming back up to the top, Punk again checks for any signs of her Mama.

But there were none... And so home we came.

After getting back here, I realized that the little dog smelled quite like the river, (and that is NOT a good smell for my house)... And I had also realized that I hadn't showered since last year... hehehe Punk adamantly refused to join me. For her spunk~n~sass on that matter, she was sprayed with a bit of patchoulli oils and musk... (Now she smells like pot, but methinks I would rather have a dog smell like this instead of anything ickier).

...Ickier???... Like her Mama~ When Miss Milly finally decided to come home, she reeked to the high heavens. And most exactly like dead fish... So once more she will happily sleep on the pungent red cedar chips and shavings; (those chips have worked SO many miracles for this outside dog of mine)!

Of course all these odors are all seemingly magnified one~hundred~fold by this head of mine...

On again; off again.. On again; off again.. On again; off again..(ad nauseum)...

CaseyAnne called about 2 in the afternoon, and wished me a "Happy Happy" too! She also said that if my head wasn't completely gone tomorrow that she would bring me in early for a shot. (And even though her definition of 'early' and mine are NOT the same, I will probably be taking her up on that offer)!

I should try not to be commenting anywhere after I come home; although given the fact that I am addicted (and quite happily) to your blogs, I probably will anyway... (So, in advance, please forgive my incoherent thoughts should I happen to land on your blog and attempt to write anything after I have a shot)!

On that thought I shall close for now.

I hope you all have a 'wunnaful' Tuesday!

XOXO

Anne

Out With the Old

Good Happy Sunday Morning to All!

First and foremost, I have a friend that is living in Bangkok Thailand... Please take a moment to visit Leticias blog~ (Bangkok was the site of SO many explosions yesterday). And please, please to keep her safety in your prayers. CLICK HERE

Another friend of mine whose Mother~in~Law passed away early yesterday afternoon after an injury on Christmas Day. CLICK HERE I had earmarked her Christmas Eve blog entry called "A Dogs Night Before Christmas" to share with you all. (Well, with those of you that actually like dogs anyway)...

Uh-Oh, did somebody say "DOGS" ??? I'll get to them in a minute... hehehe

Hmmm?? (Kinda scared to ask, but shall my own New Year resolution be then to NOT post about dogs in blogs)??

What a nasty few 'daze' here... But I have slept. And I have woken. Slept. Woken. And slept some more... (The jury is still out on whether I am still asleep or awake at the moment)! ???

And with that, unless you want me to be blogging about the dreams I had while I slept, there is sure NOT too much news from the farm... (And Jamie, I do not have chicken poop anywhere)! Sure wish I did though...

Our little walk to the woods... And much excitement (and a bit of sadness too), for my little Miss Punk... We began walking back with Mama Milly; who then decided to take off straight for the old dump. Punkie started to follow, and then sadly thought better of it, (not wanting to leave me alone I suppose). She came back to me, to walk together.

I have LONG since given up trying to call Miss Milly back when she takes off at the speed of light. (And especially now, given the fact that it still basically hurts a bit to get that cold air in my mouth anyway)...

Milly truly loses her hearing at that speed anyway... (And sometimes a varmint or two loses the chase also). But I saw no bunnies or anything else ahead- Just the quickly disappearing backside of my eldest dog!

So a sad 'nobody~to~play~with' Punk and I meandered back to the woods... For the first time this year, there was a bit of ice on the river... but just a tiny bit too... Miss Punk cautiously running the ridge to be on the lookout should her mama appear down by the river. But it didn't happen.

Punkie got hold of a "Tarzan~Style" grapevine, taking her pent up frustrations out on that. But it wouldn't 'let go' for her either. hehehe

the more she pulled the worse it got for her...
.
.
until, finally ripping it loose, she sailed her backside right into a pine tree!
.
.

And then she almost 'bought it' over the cliff once more, as some bark snapped free from the grapevine...

...my own heart skipping a beat as she caught herself in time (with grapevine bark in her mouth)!

And still no Mama~Milly for her... As we walked to the old campsite, she just sat. Listening for any sign...

yet there was nothing to be heard or seen anywhere.

Finally, from all the way back home, Miss~Milly~Mama appeared! She must have realized we were still in the back woods waiting and wandering. And the joy was apparent in Punks face, as I told her "GO!" And she did!

Both Punkie and Millie... THROTTLES WIDE OPEN!
.
.

And then to realize after a moment that she had left me behind she had to come back as if to say "Come see! I FOUND MAMA!"

.

.

And she was ever so happy!
.
.

I do not know what the heck Milly had gotten into, but am once more SO very grateful that she is not my 'inside' dog. When we got back up to the house to realize how very dirty she really was!

All that dirt, and very little snow for her to be rolling in either.
A dogs "winter bath" nowhere to be found...
.
.

The last I had posted about the snow, I was asked about their collars. Perhaps a few others of you have wondered about them as well... I wrote back top Miss Val the following note:

The 'collars' on the dogs are two~fold. Both are Pet~Safe collars.

Miss Millys is a bark collar- When she first arrived to the farm she was a noisy little thing- Miss Mona (my deceased and beautiful black lab) had an old bark collar, so that went on Miss Milly... and has remained there ever since. (Of course the batteries died many many moons ago, but she doesn't bark now unless it is of the utmost importance).

Miss Punks collar is a remote controlled training collar. And it has 2 functions...

One is a 'beep' which warns her that she might be in trouble...

The other button on the remote actually can 'zap' her if she IS in trouble. (I have only had to push the zap about 4 times, but she knows it is there)-

Mostly she 'listens' so it is a moot point anyway.

The ONLY times she has gotten a zap is when she was getting too near the road, or something else that might have cost her limb and life. (But I like it on her, just in case). She can still get way too excited at times; but she's a baby yet- (9 months old now), and that's to be expected anyway.

So one is 'no bark' with no batteries; (PLEASE don't tell Miss Milly)... and Punkins is for training and safety.

Now Miss Mona (the black lab)... She was about 5 years old, and we had taken the old buick back to the woods... Mona would run like the wind there and back; and loved this twice daily routine...

One day, (after doing this only about 3,000 times), she had tripped in a rut, in the field- and wound up under the back tire. She died almost instantly.

I still have not gotten over the horror of killing her- Casey was in the car with me... and it still breaks my heart to be thinking of it all...

And life goes on...

Some days better than others...

And clearly even some months and years are better than others... But WE are here! And we take what the Good Lord sees fit to hand to us. Not always with a smile; but to not take it would be to end the purpose of anyones life.

I am happy to be here. (Um, most days). And I am forever happy to have found this little corner of the world that has brought me so much peace, that has brought me so many good friends, and that has brought me so much happiness in both of those things! This little niche in the big worldwide web... This little place I call "home".

I thank you for allowing me to share it all with you ALL. And I am thankful that I have only had a very few negative experiences associated with being on here. Through the dark days of Reianna's death; and from my bee~stings to my stupid head and even now my 'owiee' teeth, it is very apparent that I have certainly had MORE negative crap in my life that has nothing to do with being online and "out there" !!!

Happy New Year to Everyone!

And should you be away and enjoying a cocktail (or 2 or 3 or 10); Doubtfire has reminded all to please make use of a designated driver. Be safe.

My wish for you is that you have someone to have and to hold onto come the stroke of midnight, and for forever too.

XOXO

Anna-Anna!

PS I shall see those 'designated drivers' on here bright and early tomorrow morning... (and the rest of you? Perhaps a bit later)! hehehe

Steve Buzil & Female Football Fans EVERYWHERE!

Steve Buzil is an unmitigated, chauvenistic idiot in my book!

...READ ON!!!

Good Morning...

I have been 'up' for the better part of 4 hours already; and hopefully can go rest a bit before actually beginning my day... Trust me when I say that tired, and with a nasty head, is NO way to go through life.

So... About the above picture...

Having gone through a few blogs, belatedly, (but cheerfully), there was an idea on my friend "Reconstituted Teenagers" blog... CLICK HERE ...

The idea is to post a baby picture of ones self... And so I have! (Well, it is the portrait Mom and Dad had done when my adoption went through anyway; I don't think anyone has any newborn pictures of me)!

... And yes, I know I USED to be cute!!! hehehe

So much of the media, local and worldwide news is so revolting to me, and I am ever so happy to have my little 360 World that brings me joy each day... Happiness and many smiles that come in the form of your comments, letters, invitations, (and even a marriage proposal since I began writing). hehehe (Hey, if nothing else, that was VERY good for my ego)!

Oops, yes I DO realize that was a poorly constructed paragraph. Please keep the "Grammar~Police" away from my site, or they will be having a field day... (week... month...etc etc etc)? ...Oh well...

Now, as many football fans and fanatics already know, our Green Bay Packer Game was switched from noon to 7:15pm tomorrow night.

Online, and on last nights news was a man by the name of Steve Buzil... Buzil, is a broker in Chicago, (and) said he knows why fans, particularly men, are opting to either give up tickets or not buy them in the first place.

And I quote: "I would believe that behind that gentleman is a woman screaming at him, or telling them that we're not going to the Bears game," he said. "We're going to that play, or we're going to that dinner, or that party."

OK, Mr. Steve Buzil... THOSE ARE FIGHTING WORDS TO THE GREEN BAY PACKER FEMALE FANS/FANATICS!

(Excuse me, but did you really say, "screaming at him")???

Now, maybe in each stadium there are fans are male, and have those prissy, pouty, 'football~ignorant' spouses who would rather eat, drink and get fat, than go to a football game... But here in Green Bay, I can assure you that this is not the definition of ANY of our beloved "fans"!

Hey Buzil, we were RAISED better than that!

...As were many, many other teams' female fans!!!

I can only hope you get all kinds of rebuttal and grief for your ignorant statement too.

I am also wondering WHY the men in your quote are referred to as "gentlemen" and the women are portrayed as shrews?

(Things that make you go "Hmmmm")? Answer THAT, if you dare.

(NOTE: After a bit of checking up on this guy, here he is, as owner)...

Let's all tell the boy to get out of his box, and actually LQQK in the stands at ANY American football stadium!!! (Chicago INCLUDED)...

And life goes on! But I am glad THAT is off my chest! hehehe

I apologize again for being so nasty yet today. This b*tchy attitude will change by tomorrow, I promise; ...or I simply will NOT blog!!!

Punkin is asleep at my feet, bringing a whole new definition to the "Lucky Dog" concept! And I think that is what I shall try to do this 'asleep' thing for a little while now...

Have a grand Sunday!!!

SNEET!

I wish this picture had turned out; but is it a ghost-pup??? (Caseys car is hunter green for Petes sake. I have always wanted to know more about photography... (See, I wasn't kidding)...

So, Good Morning... (with a warning, I am in a nasty mood)...

Having just checked my forecast; it is showing the roads might become covered with snow and sleet. (Hence my title)! But it should become only rain the for later today.

Having woken with a leftover nasty migraine from yesterday this is good news for me. I usually try to treat these danged things at home for a day or two, and then if they do not let up I will go in for a shot. (This is always a hard call to make on a Friday; and especially given that it is the beginning of a LONG weekend here). Will see how the afternoon leaves me feeling then.

I do have to get downtown and pay the idiot real estate taxes too. Now if it were true that migraines are brought on by stress, this would be a perfect thing to blame it on! But sadly, we all now know that is only an old wives tale.

Oh well. (But it is always so nice to sit back here with my sunglasses on while I write). ???

Not too much going on... Shoveling. More shoveling. And a whole lot of entertainment from the Punkster, as she has finally found out that snow CAN be fun. (Yeah, if you're a dog)!

She was so leery of wandering too far off yesterday...

turning back to see if I was watching...
Yes, Punkie; I am STILL watching...

Time to start shoveling... and then the FUN began!!! CaseyAnne arrived just in time... I was trying to figure out how to move my little snow~pusher~thingie now attached to the front of the Cub Cadet.

Meanwhile CaseyAnne was really introducing Punk to the fun of snow...

Punkie tried and tried to catch the "snow~treats" as they came to her...
And MORE fun to be had playing "keep~away" from her Mama!
(Miss Milly is on the left)...

For now, the yard and driveway are clear; and given the fact that it is to be about 40 degrees by this afternoon, what little remains then will quickly disappear!

Such is the "snow~and~the~sleet~and~the~rain~winter" that we are having this year...

Anybody wanting to help shovel when it does finally come, please keep in mind that I do have a couple empty bedrooms upstairs!!! hehehe...NO, I'm NOT Kidding!?!?

On a wildly different note, I have been reading news stories on here. People are actually complaining that the cops seem to be shooting more and more bad people. (And I am thinking that this is quite a can of worms I am about to open here)...

But like the fwd emails we have all received already, (giving credit to Mr. George Carlin), I too believe that the police have EVERY right "TO SHOOT YOUR SORRY ASS" if you are stupid enough to be threatening THEM! (I further believe the word "DUH" is MORE than appropriate once more).

And I am also thinking that this should really be a huge "NON~ISSUE" for the rest of us.

Guess it might be just something for people to be complaining about...

And most especially those who have not raised their kids to know the simple meaning of the word 'respect'...

...Oh hey, and how about 'please' and 'thank you' and 'Mr.' and 'Mrs.' and 'God' and 'I'm sorry' and 'I love you' and, and, and, and, and.... And then how about a nice little spank on the butt when they refuse to show this respect? No, you don't 'beat' them, but just sometimes ya gotta teach them to respect their own mouths and backsides first.

Well, that is my b*tch for today! (Oh yeah, and the danged taxes too)...

Quite a foul mood I am in; and I must apologize for that. Sorry.

Anne
