Ten Thoughts Tuesday- Laurie. Sean.

I promised Laurie that I would post a picture of her- (From the forehead up).
So there it is! hehehe
.
.
.
Good Afternoon All;

1. Yes we made it to Sean's "Welcome Home" party!
He came out to the road to give BIG hugs too!

Taking a stroll through Lauries home, we came upon Brett, and a few of his friends

2.
BLOGGERS, and other friends!

So many of us have gotten to know each other through our Yahoo 360 blogs.
Now that Yahoo has chosen to delete all of our entries, I snapped this final tally.
.
.
Cnv0662

I was, and remain, so very proud of that first blogging experience.
And am very happy to know so many of you!
It's been a trip and a half!
.
.
3. WHAT WE LEARN OF OUR FRIENDS; (and through friends of friends too).
Many of you have learned my own little secrets, among other stuff!.
Most of you know by now that I get some godawful migraines.
If you look closely at the picture below, this is what I see at the onset of a migraine. (Pretty close to it anyway).

Just add bright flashing lights,
and a sickening swaying movement too;
and it's "
Welcome to my aura!"
.
See why I do not like carnival rides, or any roller coasters?
.

5. It was because of one of these headaches that I finally drove myself to the hospital on Monday.
Having gotten the dry heaves as my head was killing me, I thought I would die as my stomach convulsed and my back threatened to remain in #10 pain forever.

7. Not feeling "par" for a while, Kelli had a doctor appointment on Monday morning. All was well with her, save for a change in her thyroid meds!

9. A few weeks back, I had my first experience to see an orb with my own eyes, and NOT through a camera shutter.
I was not afraid. It was golden- Middle of the night. Punk had woken, and her movement on the bed had woken me enough to open my eyes.
She did not growl but saw it too as I watched her eyes follow that golden orb.
I have waited over 51 years to experience this for myself.
I believe!

10. Am wondering if there are only a few of this that this sign pertains to?

I hope you are all having an awesome week thus far!
As for me, I am going to try to get dressed today and get outside with Punk. She has been an absolute angel throughout my inability to get around, and for her I must at least try.

My love to all

XOXO
Me

PS
I will post #'s 4 and 6 later, in the comments below.
(No, I do not know where they went)... Yes, I do know how to count. (I think).

Good Morning!!!

To all my friends... Please click above.

Yahoo has confirmed that they will be preserving all of our blogs, and their content, INCLUDING comments to each and every one of our blogs there.

Thank the powers that be.

Do the click thing please.

Although it is not the place to vent, please let her know you were there.

And please spread the word, one click at a time...

XOXO
Anne

Die Hard...

Hehehe Do you like my new top page picture???

.

.

Good Morning!

Try as I might, I cannot bring myself to blog elsewhere, although I have given it much thought. I have even gone to another site, which I will not be "doing" yet, so please do not hold your breath if you are waiting for updates there.

Guess I will be here til the bitter end. Yes, I did read Yahoo! Team Blog latest entry... >CLICK HERE< for that one if you have not yet done so.

...And I still cannot see where they are completly obliterating 360.
Am I blind? Or just a bit dense? Wait, don't answer that, I bruise easily...

 • Changing it? Yes.
 • Closing 360? Yes. (As we now know it to be anyway).
 • Doing away with us, or our hard work or our people? NOT.

Please take a moment to read Carls entire entry... (click on his name).

Like he says, "please do me a favor: kick off your shoes, pull up a chair and stay a while. You've got nothing to lose."

Neither will I be transferring my blogs to another site because when/if I have to do that, I do not want them out of order. I have them stored anyway...

Lots of you are missing, and so I shall miss the reparte that I always looked forward to each day. Of course, lots of you have been missing for a while, (and I really do miss your thoughts upon my pages too).

It's a chilly one this morning. All of 35 degrees already. hehehe ~A bit nippy!

But we should be in the 50's later on. It is sunny with a light wind. Maybe I can burn some of my yard waste finally. It has been SO windy lately, and this "gimp" has not had much energy anyway...

And so... onward...

Have you ever eaten ground cherries? They grow almost wild around here, and I transplant them every spring when they come up. They come wrapped in their own little papers too!

.

.

Look past the darned weeds...
hehehe
.
.
A handful on the car...
One out of the husk, so you can see what they look like.

.

.

Mmmm... They are sweet and good (and one can get an entire days supply of Vitamin C out of a handful of them).

I do fight the dogs for these little fruits. This, after trying to get out there before the chipmunks and gophers get to them! Darned thieves that they are...

I have never seen any recipes for them, but eating them just like that is more than yummy!

CaseyFace had a real bad night, (tuesday night)... and was up almost all night long. She then had a 2nd interview at one company; later a doctor appointment. Suffice it to say it was a really tough day for herself yesterday. She came home, and slept straight through til this morning. They called later in the day to tell her that she didn't get the job. She woke up quite bummed from that bit of news. (I am still so mad at UWGB for what they did to her aid. >CLICK HERE< if you don't already know that story.

It is high time to get busy with my own day. I am SO far behind.

I hope you are all having a wunnaful Thursday, and that you are all looking forward to a wunnaful weekend too!

XOXO
Anne

.

.

PS
Oh, since October is grinding to a halt, it is time for me to be 'thinking' about Christmas cards and such... If you would trust me with your address, please leave me a private message. I know how bizarre these things can get, and so I will not be sending out requests... seems as too many people hit "reply all" hehehe
What a fiasco that was!

Flintville~vs~Sidnaw?

Good Morning All;

Yes, (and regrettably at times), I am still alive! hehehe
On top of my foot, (no pun intended), I have been under attack by my stupid head.
(>CLICK< for Migraine info "Myths vs Reality").

On the very bright side, I have not had to take my 'foot' pills since yesterday morning. Happy about that~ Only a few days ago I had actually watched the clock for when I could take another pain pill. It feels better, (as does my silly head) now. I took the boot off, and have been back to "gimping" so much better than I have for a few weeks. I have not been brave enough to wear a shoe though...

My foot is still very rOund. hehehe
(Hmmm... I wonder if one can get stretch marks on their feet)?!? Might as well, after carrying 4 kids Lord only knows I've got those marks every place else! hehehe
The foot sure swolled up, and stayed that way too. One of the bodys little miracles to keep the fracture safe I suppose...
No, I have not yet returned for that next x~ray.

Not too much news... The brunt of it is covered in Caseys blog anyway... YAY!
(What a copout for me, eh)? Lucky that way!!!

Oh, and my halloween comic... (I stole all of these 'funnies' from an email last year, so feel free to steal away)!!!

.

.

hehehe

.

.

Been checking on a few more emails, and I see that Yahoo! has posted another blog on the life expectancy of our little 360~World.
Please go and make your voices heard once more.

>CLICK HERE< for their new blog. No, don't do it now... Wait til after you leave me a comment!

Of newsworthiness too... (And celebrating his 249th birthday somewhere), is none other than Noah Webster... (Info stolen from HERE).

America's first lexicographer, was born on October 16, 1758.
We remember Webster as the author of the first American dictionary, but he was also the first authority to advocate American English.
His American Spelling Book, published in 1783 (later known as Webster's Elementary Spelling Book), was the first to Americanize the spelling of English words such as colour and labour by dropping the u.
He also espoused American pronunciation and usage. In a very real sense, Webster gave us the language that Americans think of as English.
An estimated 60 million copies of Webster's speller were sold during its first hundred years in print. In 1828, Webster's American Dictionary of the English Language was published, with 12,000 more words and about 40,000 more definitions than any previous English dictionary.

As I type, I wonder where ANY of us would be without him all those years ago?.

.

On an unrelated topic, I had previously written about a man, now living in lower Michigan, who had contacted me regarding the stories I had written about my mother, and her birthplace, Sidnaw, Michigan. Seems it was his birthplace too and he had found my blog doing a search on the internet.

I have since received still another letter. This time from a gentleman in Germany who had also grown up in Sidnaw... Oddly enough, and all the way from Germany, he has met one of my cousins at his work across the big pond!!! WOW!

WHAT A SMALL WORLD WE LIVE IN!
And yes, I will be posting more about Sidnaw now that I can hobble my way up to the attic to grab some pictures! Since it has been raining for the past couple of days, I believe I will be doing that today!

Mama "got" me again here. All I wanted to do here was to put Flintville, Wisconsin on the map! hehehe But I have a feeling Sidnaw, Michigan will be just as much fun!

Have a "Wunnaful~Wednesday" !!!!

Love to all.

XOXO
Anne

A Lightbulb For Yahoo!

Good Morning All;

CaseyFace will be down in a few minutes so I shall be keeping this short(er) for today.

She has a dentist appointment~ Sedation dentistry~ at 8:00 and at 6, she must be taking her "Make~Me~Loopier~Than~I~Already~Was" pills... (Wish I had a video cam so you all could watch too)! hehehe

Of interest to us all, is the "Question of the Year"; notably still UNaddressed by anyone at Yahoo!

WHAT IS HAPPENING TO OUR 360~WORLD???

As many of you will recall, I blogged on this same question a full 2 months ago... (Please see my tag cloud under 360~World). Many others' blogs have also addressed these fears. I guess I just don't understand WHY Yahoo! would risk losing so many dedicated bloggers going to other sites that are NOT related to Yahoo!, Inc. .

Having clicked on the link in The Chickens blast, I have read one mans accounting and opinions of what IS happening, and what will happen.

I assure you that his blog is of paramount interest to us all. He is in the process of writing a series of articles regarding this matter, and is halfway through them. Please visit MARK, and let him know you were there.

>CLICK HERE< for his blogs. As I have said before, they are too important to miss.

Part of my own comments there read as follows:

"To remark that -your articles here- are interesting and informative would be putting it very mildly. And I believe that these need to be read, not only by us little old bloggers who actually LOVE our 360~World, but by those same execs who are handling this seemingly uncertain future for us all.

I am not a wise blogger, not sage, or any of those other terms... But I love to share my little stories, and photos; AND to read and see others as well.

This (360), for me has created an outlet, and has brought many friends to my heart. A few of those friends are right above me in these comments, and others I recognize from lurking about their pages...

I am not, nor have I ever been, interested in blogging elsewhere. Nor have I accepted any invitations to join others on their "new" sites. (Yes, I have checked out Mash).

Yahoo has created somewhat of a mass exodus by not addressing these issues for people. Many have pulled up stakes and went elsewhere.

Yes, there IS a huge difference in some of the other sites.

But hey YAHOO!, maybe this is WHY we are here in the first place.

******Lightbulb goes off, ...(somewhere out in California I hope)..."

.

Please DO let me know what you have to say to Mark about all of this, and what your own opinions are of it all.

Have a Fan~dam~tastic Friday! (I am almost certain that Casey will)! hehehe

XOXO
Anne

Here's MY Own Thoughts...

Good Morning to All;

Oops, I mean "Good Afternoon" to All!

...I must have forgotten for a minute that I had gone back to bed earlier. My head felt like ca~ca, took a pill for breakfast, and went right back to Lala~Land. Snored for a while, (until even Miss Punk couldn't take it anymore), and here I am!

A few thoughts of my own on the rumor... (and my apologies to those of you that live in California for my insensate remark). hehehe

Miss SuzyGirl has written to say, " I hope I didn't offend your readers with my link. DeeAnne says it's stirring trouble with a rumor, and everyone from 360 will flee. Not true."

I agree with them both, given that some of us can/will read more into it than others.
.

.

donkey

.

.

First of all, there are those of us here on Y!360 that are not interested in numbers, (although with the sheer numbers that some individual blogs have, it would seem as there is NOT really a number problem).

These numbers, (real people reading real Y! 360 blogs) are coming from somewhere, and I refuse to believe that there is some Stepford computer reading mine at any point.

Maybe there are more 'numbers' elsewhere... (that 'elsewhere' being myspace, blogspot, facebook etc- blah, blah, blah). My own thoughts are once again redirected at the site I had linked to yesterday, and a bit what I had written there about this rumor.

~~~~~~~~~~
"Of course my site is 360!
And I cannot understand why Yahoo! would close it down. To me it seems as though it would be an action of cutting off ones nose to save the face.
Why detract from this?
If Y! needs to add an additional "social network" then ADD one. But do not just close one site down.
This is reactive; as opposed to being PROactive (as anyone who has ever even thought about 'management' would know).
I have brought in more than a few people to Yahoo through my little 360 page. Sadly, due to circumstances within my own life, my page is currently tabbed as private. But when I was public, (and anyone in the world who might have been sick and tired of all the garbage at myspace and facebook etc) could come to visit, I had many many people in a global sense wanting to know what is going on in my own little Wisconsin world. I do believe that these people will somehow return when I re~open my page. And Yahoo! willing I WILL be doing that in a little while.
At 49, and staying home, one would think this life could be as boring as all get~out. It is not. And thanks to my 360~World, I have many friends that do not find it boring either.
One does not get over 120,000 page views by being boring or writing about "poor, poor pitiful me" all the time. This is the boring mindset of (most of) the younger people/generation. One does not acheive this by writing about how much they hate their parents, and how everything in their lives IS their parents fault. This gets way too humorous for those of us that have raised our children and have already heard those idiotic ignorant "lines".
I get sick of idiocy very quickly and do not want any other blog site.
This little corner of Yahoo! is more than enough for me.
In the meantime, I have had many requests to "join a friend" at MySpace and the others...
 • If I wanted a MySpace account, I would have one.
 • If I wanted all the crap that goes with those other sites, I would have that too.
...Although many a person HAS gotten their 15 minutes of fame by going to those sites.
...(I don't think I have EVER seen Y360 profiled on Primetime)?
So while I am sure that the 360 could be improved at times, I am still very comfortable here.
~~~~~~~~~~

(Do correct me if I am wrong about the Primetime thing... I don't watch TV that much)...

.

.

.

donkey

.

.

.

But again, that makes no difference to me. If you are here, stalking children, then it occurs to me that you don't belong on my friends list to begin with. (However, if you are stalking me, then please make your presense known). hehehe

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

...ok. I am back again...

I had to make an exodus because Punk broke wind. Silent. Deadly...

.

.

.

As far as anyone that has sent me an invitation to all those other sites knows, I do not accept nor do I join them. I am not opposed to 'change', but the fact is that I am simply NOT interested in being anyplace else. (Unlike real life)?

All humor aside, I am thinking that if we go off half~cocked to join anyplace else, we are only feeding that frenzy, that gaggle of goners.

I will not be doing this.

My 360, and ALL of yours, provide me with enough inspiration to get me through my days, and to see how you are getting through your own too! *wink~wink*

And until this is all substantiated, then I shall try not worry overmuch. I will however, go buy some ink, and a wee bit of paper. My blogs are as much for you as they have also been written for my grandbabies; and they will have each of my blogs available to them on hard copy too.

I shall also go buy a new crib as I will be having Master Gabriel on a more consistent basis.

.

.

Cnv0331
YAY!
.
.

AND, I'll also be buying a few new bic pens, the little soft grips that go along with them... As long as I have pen/paper, a solid writing surface, and a few addresses, I can write to my hearts content!

So now ask yourself... Do I have YOUR address?

XOXO
Anne

Sack o' Seeds...

Good Morning All!
As I typed yesterday it was FINALLY raining, with just a few heinous claps of thunder thrown in just to keep me on my toes. That came and went all day long. And inbetween those storms came this awful heat. We stayed indoors for the most part~ To venture out while the temps are inthe 90's and the humidity higher than the cornfields makes you want to get back inside for a breath of very fresh air real quick.

.I had a wee bit of company yesterday too! After a late, (and fast) shower, it seems as though everyone came at once! And I couldn't have been happier. Well, unless ALL of my grandbabies could have been here...

.Not such a fresh breath with this thought though...

I am sure that by now, you have heard the rumors that Yahoo! 360 will be closing/ending.

As of yet, these are simple rumors. But maybe not? Having gone to SuzyGirls pages, she had posted the following link...

http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/07/08/mosh-yahoos-new-social-network-initiative/

So I have only one question now...

...WHAT THE HECK KIND OF WEED DO YOU FOLKS HAVE OUT IN CALIFORNIA?

?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

(And of course that thought brings to mind another old song)...

Love to you!

XOXO
Anne

"Wildwood Weed"
Wildwood flower grew wild on the farm
And we never knowed what it was called
Some said it was a flower and some said it was a weed
I didn't give it much thought
One day I was out there talkin' to my brother
And I reached down for a weed to chew on
Things got fuzzy and things got blurry
And then ev'rything was gone
Didn't know what happened but I knew it beat the hell
Out of sniffing burlap
I come to and my brother was there and he said,
"What's wrong with your eyes?"
I said "I don't know, I was chewin' on the weed"
He said, "Let me give it a try"
We spent the rest of that day and most of that night tryin'
To find my brother Bill
Caught up with him about six o'clock the next mornin'
Naked, singing on the windmill
He said he flew up there
I had to fly up and get him down
He was about half crazy
The very next day we picked a bunch of them weeds
And put 'em in the sun to dry
Then we mashed 'em up and we cleaned 'em off
Put 'em in the corn cob pot
Smokin' them wildwood flowers got to be a habit
We never seen no harm
We thought it was kind-a handy
Take a trip and never leave the farm
Big 'ole puff of that wildwood weed next thing you know
You're just wand'ring 'round behind the little animals
All good things got to come to an end
It's the same with the wildwood weeds
One day this feller from Washington come by
And spied one and turned white as a sheet
And they dug and they burned
And they burned and they dug and they killed
All our cute little weeds and then they drove away
We just smiled and waved
sittin' there on that sack o' seeds...
..

I, for one, am only hoping that Yahoo really IS sitting on a sack o' 360 seeds.
.
As I do not care to be sitting here, smilin' and wavin' at ANY of you...
.
.
I know that many of you are much more in touch with what is going on, and if you could, would you please let me know as Yahoo has not responded to any of the rumors?
