[My] Life in Wisconsin

Warning- Spell Check Malfunction!

Before I leave, I just HAVE TO share this...
As I am surfing around, I read the following:
"I may not have a college degree but that does NOT make me uneducated, stupid, ingnorant"  end quote.

TRUE story!

Sheesh, now I gotta try to figure out what "ingnorant" means...

XOXO

PS
I will be back soon.

Our Weekend so Far...

Behind the pond at Kelli's... A masterpiece.

Good Morning All-
As I look out the eastward window, the fields are blanketed with fog, and the sun peeks through them at various spots-
Ever so pretty, and reminds me of home. i (Oh wait)!    hehehe

Been "squirrel~busy" these past few days- (trying to hang onto my last marble also).
But oh what fun we've had!  Had the sale open Friday and Saturday- I will open it again around 8 or 9. (Maybe just get a few chuchgoers that want to throw a few quarter$ my way).
Tons of people, and to know so many of them too!

Jim and JoAnne
Cousins and neighbors, Jim and JoAnne Reimer-

Jim just had surgery on his shoulder after dealing with a torn rotator cuff, and then ripping a few tendons. (That's some painful stuff too).

Julie and Destiny
Another neighbor, Julie- With her 3 month old puppy.
She collects dogs like other people collect knick~knacks.
Has gone back to school now to be a licensed cosmetologist.

Other people just out for a ride- to see the sign and pull in. Whatever works.
At times my yard looks like a used car lot- At others, it's like a mini ghost town.

I wasn't going to open it this weekend either- Until the gal down the road put an ad in the paper advertising her own sale.
So out came my sign.  (Hmmm... Does that make me a thief somehow)?
And a whole lot of pretty men too! (I will just have to open more often)! Mmm
***wipes drool off screen***
hehehe

Casey has come out every day- Up and at 'em real early for me too- Even if no one is here besides us, I can think of no better company than her own. She is just so funny- even in pain, (and sometimes because of it too). That is so special!

Casey- after a long day at the sale
CaseyFace! hehehe
... Brings a whole new meaning to "You Go, Girl"

I'd better close for now and get my dishes done- 2+ days without doing those.
(Don't tell anyone).

I hope you are ALL having a great weekend too!

My love to all

XOXO
Me

PS
From my 'bizarre newsletter': "September 2 is National Beheading Day."
I will need a show of hands (I mean "heads"), to see who goes first?!? hehehe

A couple living in a small Midlands village in England, take on an 18-year-old girl as a lodger. She asked if she could have a bath but the woman of the house told her they didn't have a bathroom as such but she could use a tin bath in front of the fire.

"Monday's the best night, when my husband goes out bowling," the woman said. So the young girl agreed to have a bath the following Monday night.

After her husband had gone off for his bowling tournament, the woman filled the bath and watched as the girl got undressed.

She was surprised to see that the young lass didn't have any pubic hair and told her husband when he came home. He didn't believe her, so she said, "Next week, when you go off to bowl, I'll leave a little gap in the curtains so that you can see for yourself, alright?"

The following Monday night, while the girl got undressed for her bath, the wife asked her, "Do you shave down there?"

"No," replied the girl, "I've just never grown any hairs down there. Do you have hairs on yours?"

"Oh, yes," said the woman and she showed the girl her hairy muff.

After the girl had gone to bed the husband came home and the wife asked, "Did you see it?"

"Yes," he said, "but why the hell did you have to show her yours?"

"Why not?" she said, "You've seen it before.”

"I know," he replied, "but the bowling team hadn't!"

Jennifer, and Jaworski Road

The old stanchions-

Good Morning!

It is Jennifer Hope's birthday today. She is my 2nd eldest, and lives in Texas.
At 32 now, she has 2 beautiful babies, and one husband. hehehe (Works best that way).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNIFER!

That's a whole lot of candles ya know~
Have an extinguisher handy.  hehehe  Just sayin'...

What?!?!

Isaiah as Popeye! hehehe

My mom is HOW old?     hehehehehehehe

Here is Isaiah on his first day of school!

Isaiah

And here is Isaiah and Wyatt...

Isaiah and Wyatt
No, really!
Look very closely, you can see Wyatt's hair at the bottom of the picture.
He had fallen down before the shutter snapped. hehehe

But what an angel too!!!

Wyatt 8-18-2010
With his own little orb! And isn't he just as gorgeous as his big brother?!

I see that Mother Nature has given Jenné temps below 100° (F) for her birthday! They supposedly are to remain there for the next few days also.

Weather?  I thought it pretty neat that The Old Farmers Almanac came out with a long range forecast map for the whole country.  (However due to their September forecast, I no longer much care for The Old Farmers Almanac). hehehe

SEPTEMBER 2010 (for my area): temperature 52° (6° below avg.); precipitation 4.5" (1.5" above avg.);
Sep 1-3: Sunny, cool;
Sep 4-15: Rainy episodes, cool;
Sep 16-20: Rain and snow showers, cool;
Sep 21-28: Rain, then sunny, cool;
Sep 29-30: Rain, mild.

Oh well. Such is the changing of the seasons.
But I am not shoveling snow in September! (I don't much care to even do that in October for Pete's sake).
As long as it brings us football season, I will try not to complain too much.

My back has been particularly wretched once again.
Not sure what I am doing, or not doing; but it sucks for me.  I have had Casey lace and adjust my brace as tight as it goes, and still it is awful.
Not a lot of sleep. Not a lot of anything- just 'busy' work around here.

Lawns are done for a little while, at best. They really need the blades on the mower dropped all the way down, and soon too. But apples and pears need to be removed first.

Christmas *sigh*, (and hopefully that means Springtime too) will not be far off.
I need to keep my sewing machine fired up, but for anyone contemplating gift purchases online, this site lists a ton of popular stores that will ship free IF you have their free shipping code.
Codes can be found here. (You can thank me for the link by sending a gift)! hehehe

Gifts?
I have decided that I would LOVE a copy of the New Oxford American Dictionary!  It has over 2,000 new words and phrases, including "vuvuzela," "microblogging," "staycation" and "turducken" ...
New definitions, new entries, new subordinate entries, the list goes on...
Just dreaming.

Waking up now, and regarding my recent "People are Different" blog:  I rest my case Mz. Doubtfire.  If you wish to hold hatred in your heart for "the least of your brothers", for WHATEVER reason, that is your choice to make.
For everyone else, an apt quote from my top page this morning:
"Enthusiasm is contagious. Be a carrier." S. Rabin

Incidentally, if anyone missed my own point of view, hatred is not my choice. Though admittedly, there are a few people I could live happily without, I do not hate people. (Nor am I that freakin' paranoid)! hehehe

Politically speaking- I have noticed that the Republican ads on TV seem to all reiterate the conservative angle. "I am a conservative." Or, "I am running for the conservative party."
Newsflash people, we really DO know that republican is conservative, and vice~versa.  (And we really CAN read the fine print at the bottom of your ads that say, "paid for by the republican party").
The American voters are not that dumb!
For those that are that basically choosing to be mentally deficient or challenged,  ignorant people will elect dark candidates.
You cannot 'tidy up' the ugly party by painting it a new color.
After all, "a rose by any other name..."

Back to Flintville... happily-

Kelli and I had gone in search of Chris Jaworski for horse hay.
He was not at home.

Somebody once said, "you can't go home again."   I beg to differ.
See, Chris was at home. (My old home that is). hehehe
I had spotted his car as we drove past-

Home on Jaworski

Closer up-

And in the barn-

Kelli, and Chris Jaworski, in the barn
No he is not holding it up! hehehe

And walking toward the very first home built on the property...

The ORIGINAL 2 room house on the property

My pictures didn't turn out well at all because the sun was near to setting as I took them.
My apologies. We will have to go back at sunrise or high noon.

All the trees you see below I planted! The girls and I carried buckets and buckets of rainwater out there the first two years too.
Most lived too!

Birch and Mulberry
Birch and Mulberry
I actually stole handfuls of mulberries off the trees when I walked back there! Mmmm...

Colorado blue spruce.

Mom had given us 4 Blue Spruce when we moved in. (One for each of my girls).

Blue spruce
Only this one survived.

Then there's the zillion red cedars.
Prickly things- Rabbits LOVE to hide in them!

Row of Red Cedars
Planted as a windbreak, to the NE of the house

All the trees you see, I planted
Notice the fence between the 2 homes, effectively cutting off [some] problems with the neighbors from hell.
Chris informed us that our killer neighbor goes back to court on September 1st.
(I hope they throw the book at him).

Nuff said.  Besides, my eyes are crossed from reading, and thinking, and....

Have a 'wunnaful' day!

LGBT. People are different.

Can of worms- (Who knew)?!

Good Morning All;
My wash is almost done- (and by 'done' I mean only on the line). One more load after this.
  • Dishes? Check.
  • TV? Off.
  • Cat? MIA.
  • Dog? Sleeping.
  • Dressed? Yes.

"A pansy who lived in Khartoum,
Took a lesbian up to his room
And they argued all night
Over who had the right
To do what, and with which, and to whom."

We giggled at that- But did it make us think?
(I would submit that, in too many cases, the answer would be "no").

OMG! The world is flat! (Apparently there are too many people that are flat too).

With particularly great timing came this to my email not too long ago:

Apparently in her radio show, Dr Laura Schlesinger said that, as an observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance.
The following response is an open letter to Dr. Laura, written by a US man
It's quite "tragically funny", as well as informative:

Dear Dr. Laura:
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination ... End of
debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.

1.
Leviticus 25:44
states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are from neighboring nations.
A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians.
Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

2.
I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7.
In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

3.
I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of Menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24.
The problem is how do I tell?
I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

4.
When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9.
The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them.
Should I smite them?

5.
I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death.
Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?

6.
A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination, Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree.
Can you settle this?
Are there 'degrees' of abomination?

7.
Lev. 21:20
states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight.
I have to admit that I wear reading glasses.
Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?

8.
Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27.
How should they die?

9.
I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

10.
My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend).
He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot.

Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16.
Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? Lev. 20:14

I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I'm confident you can help.

Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

George Bernard Shaw said "There is nothing more dangerous than the conscience of a bigot"

I agree.
And personally I have run into more than a few people on here as of late that do not, can not, comprehend that first and foremost, everybody is human.

I know how I got such an awful headache last week.
It came from this person, who had the audacity to thump me on the head with her Bible.  hehehe

All kidding aside, the woman started YELLING then...

On another blog I encountered the same woman, blatantly God fearing but really uninformed as well.
"flintville i disagree with you being gay or homosexual is a "CHOICE" one makes, God created mankind in his image, people choose their path, if they want to smoke drink, live like the devil they make choices and eventually pay for those choices."

My reply:
"Love knows no gender.
A heart does not fall in love with a gender. A heart falls in love with the soul.
PS
Since when is God male or female?

Hmmm..."
...
Read more here

From R. Lewis came this: "The {very} epitome of evil is having spiritual leaders condone hate, in the name of God, against others such as our gay brothers and sisters."

"It occurs to me as I read some of these posts that the most ironic statements come out of the mouths of those who claim to believe in God.  While debating whether or not being gay is a choice, people are choosing to be insensitive, ignorant, disrespectful, and worst of all, judgmental.  I tend to question just how deep and genuine a person's belief in God is when that same person speaks from his alleged spirituality and attempts to discount or invalidate the trials and tribulations of another human being.
Choosing to be a decent person should be a higher priority for those who do not have personal experience with struggles or circumstances which they are offering an opinion about.
Far too many people use their religious beliefs simply as an excuse to avoid being a decent person.  They hide behind principles which completely contradict God, (yet blame God for the indecency, insensitivity, and disrespect in which they express themselves).  I suspect that if an individual's life is so pure and free from personal struggle, he would be the most compassionate, kind, sensitive, respectful, warm hearted person on the planet.  Since that is not the case with those of you who so willingly choose to pass judgment on others, I suggest that you redirect your focus on the very real personal struggles that your own lives present - despite how desperately you attempt to deny them."

And finally...
"The current decision to condemn homosexuality is primarily an emotional decision rather than one that is well thought out. Yet, the happiness and well-being of our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and friends is at stake.
We must learn how to live reasonably and knowledgeably with homosexuality."
From here

I know that
there are at least three same-sex relationships described in the bible.

"Despite what's being said by many Christian writers, biblical faithfulness and an acceptance of homosexuality are compatible." -from here

I have learned there are a vast many documented cases of animal homosexuality.

I have seen so much hypocrisy and idiocy from people who refuse to learn.
As momma stated, here, "if i turn on the TV and ellen is on i turn it, i just wish she would get saved, she seems to have great sense of humor." -
How the hell could she know Ellen is funny if she doesn't even watch her?!?
And whom does Ellen need saving from?

Also stated there: "In my house if a show has or refers to homosexuality we switch channels, in hopes if enough people do that then they will eventually realize that is not accepted as normal behaviour."
Yeah, that's right, Lady.
Pretend it doesn't exist!
Look the other way. Or hey, go bury your head in the sand. Either way, you learn nothing.
But then how do you decide that you might have anything important or informed to contribute?

We also know by now that it is not necessary to renounce homosexuality in order to become a loving parent. Many many LGBT  folks have adopted children, or bore their own, and their children are just fine- (Straight even)! Imagine that?!

Even if we take assertation that without family, there would be no society, it's irrelevant.
Family has existed, and society, as an outgrowth of that or not, has come into being.
Societies that were overwhelmingly traditional-family have fallen, or been full of terrible tyranny and nasty tortures. The family didn't prevent those things.

I have done a lot of reading since Momma and Doubtfire tried to upset me. (Incidentally, that usually doesn't work with me, as I already know that there are many other more important lives to truly be upset about).
Doubtfire on my recent Texas blog, here, wrote, "
They made same sex marriage legal and I find that appalling and wrong but then the people didn't get to vote on that, the "suits" did that."

~I am not, and still am not, too sure what she meant.
(But CaseyAnne did give her the comeuppance she so badly needed). Yay Casey!

I have done much learning, but there are things I still do not understand.

Perhaps some of you will answer my questions?

  • We have often heard that gay marriage will destroy straight marriage.
    • How, exactly, does that work? I don't see how legalizing gay marriage would harm your own.
    • Know I ask with all sincerity, what am I missing?
  • Why do you care what happens in other peoples lives (or bedrooms)?
  • To date, 4416 American soldiers have died in Iraq.
    • How many were gay?
  • If God is love, how come many only preach hatred toward others?
  • How can parents who believe in "unconditional love" set forth conditions of that same love?
  • How can anyone who claims to have a close relationship with their God, even think of condemning others?
    • Isn't God love?

  • What was that Golden Rule again?
  • What if God is gay?
~From  Galatians 3:28  " There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
  • I wonder then, where does Galations leave homophobes?

Obviously, the LGBT community have an uphill battle on their hands.
Know that even though I did not "choose" to be straight, I am. (That's sarcasm there kids). You simply don't get to choose.
I will help the LGBT effort any way that I can.

Sadly, I believe that in another generation we will look back and question why we had to hurt so many good and decent people in the process!

I know more than a few LGBT couples that have been together longer than most heterosexual couples I know- (So what's your beef again)?

As with my stance on our recent HealthCare debate, I will let history answer the outcome.

To those who don't offer their hearts, fear is your chosen malignant cancer.
It is surely not my own!

And as the title states, "People are different."
Get over it.
And get over yourself too.

XOXO
Me

Why can't people look at the phrase 'liberty and justice for all' and simply accept that 'all' means 'all'?

Isaiah. Wyatt. And catching up a bit...

The weirdest looking melon I have ever seen!

Good Morning All;
It has been too long once more, since I have written anything about Flintville!
We are rain~soaked, but drying out once more.
Yesterdays national news even had Green Bay mentioned for how much rain we got.  Too much, in too little of a time period...  Story, pictures here.  Funny comment there claims that "the Book of Genesis has complete boat building instructions."
hehehe

Walking out to check for any damages, (only a few little branches down, and scattered about), I caught sight of those little squash seeds I had planted...

Newborn squash!
Itty bitty baby squash!

Ripen faster already...
Mmmm.....

Mmmm (times 2).
Oh I am getting SO hungry!

Speaking of hungry...

Casey. Not waiting for a sandwich!
Casey wouldn't even wait for a sandwich!

Turkey, Ham, Cheese, and a Tomato too- on a fresh toast, with a gooey sloppy glob of Horseradish mustard and  Mayo
I did!

There are many many apples down- Pears too. Will have to call Gritter and see if they want them this year too. I sure hope so!

Punk was in the window all night- There must have been deer or raccoons by the fruit trees and trying to eat what was there.
That dog sure can bark!  Not even so much that, but it is downright eerie to wake up to these low growls... (Especially not seeing what the dog sees)!

Dang cat doesn't care...

NOT his bed!

Hey, I was SLEEPING!

We have been working in the old shed this past week, getting organized and cleaning-   My dish pan had gotten left on the entrance stairs.
Sputty thought it there for him.

Casey and I were going to go to the rodeo at the fair today.
Not going to happen- Too much to do. I haven't cut the lawns in so long that I will have problems getting through them
(again).
But am determined to get the job done before the next rainfalls come. Wednesday. (I think).

In the meanwhile, tomorrow to be exact, my Little Man Isaiah starts school!

Here he is with his baby brother, Wyatt...

Wyatt and Isaiah
...as they wait for a bike ride!

Baby Wyatt, walking at 9 months by the way, looks so much like Master Gabriel and brother Isaiah!  Jenné has promised me more pictures so you can see that resemblance too.
She mentioned something about great genes!  She's sure got that right!  hehehe

I hope Isaiah LOVES kindergarten! I know I did. And I know all of my children did too!

It has been nasty hot in Texas- Been over 100° for so long, and checking their weather now, I see no end of heat for the immediate future either.
Not sure how they all get through that extreme heat? I would just shrivel up and die.
Wait! Maybe that would be a good thing? See, then I wouldn't be able to mow my lawns!   hehehe

Until later then.
Love to all!  Stay cool!

Important Note to Everyone that has my Email Address.

Here.
We Go.
Again...

...Damned email hackers.

I will be updating my email address soon, and would appreciate if you no longer send email to either email address you may have for me.

I have spent the last hours trying to change everything I have with Yahell, and am tired of their bull~crap.

The last time this happened only made me madder to send the offending emails on to them-  They simply told me it was ME!
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but I did decide that I would NOT report this to Yahoo or AT&T ever again!

No problems since - until now that is.
So today, in my spam folder, which I check daily, I came across an email to me, from me.
Subject line was 'the hottest coeds in town'
Ooh Baby, (and "ooh~la~la" too), isn't that just what I want and need?  hehehe

So tonight, I just checked the full headers and forwarded to Mr. Greg.
Here is his reply.

It looks like you were hacked by an IP out of Mumbai. This is probably just a proxy point for some Russian hacker from the look of the domain that they were linking to. The server is no longer active, it is not responding to pings or the port scan that I ran.

It seems as though especially Russian crime syndicate hackers have been running exploits on web based email accounts to send spam. I had the same thing happen to my account, when my password was relatively easy.

Make sure your password is very random so that it's not going to be on a list of top passwords or in a dictionary.

Yes, I have changed everything,
twice so far-  And talk about 'random too.
And everything here on Multiply also.
(New *random* passwords are easy if you have a word search puzzle book nearby)! hehehe

Except for my email address, which I am still thinking on.
*Dare I ask if anyone has any ideas?!? hehehe (Casey has already sent me one idea).

At any rate, please do not use those other 2 email addresses.
I will send everyone in my address book my new one when I get it. Which should be soon.

Love to all,

XOXO

NFL- Harvin- Migraine Attack, Vikings

Vikings' Harvin has migraine attack at practice

By DAVE CAMPBELL, AP Sports Writer Dave Campbell, Ap Sports Writer
Thu Aug 19, 6:51 pm ET

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn
.

Percy Harvin experienced the scariest episode yet in a career plagued by migraine headaches when he collapsed at Minnesota Vikings' practice Thursday and was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Coach Brad Childress left team headquarters after practice and spent the rest of the afternoon at the hospital with Harvin, who also got visits from other coaches and teammates.

"Percy appreciates everyone's concern," the coach said in a statement posted on the team website Thursday evening. "He is alert and resting comfortably, but will remain in the hospital overnight."

Harvin, who has dealt with migraines most of his life, returned to the field Monday after missing more than two weeks, but at the beginning of Thursday's workout the wide receiver experienced another episode that was scary enough for the Vikings to halt practice while their teammate received medical attention.

"To see a guy go down, it's never a good thing," defensive end Ray Edwards said. "Just pray that the Lord is with him and he gets back to us safely, and to his family most importantly."

Childress said that Harvin's episode was triggered when he looked up into a mostly cloudy sky to field a punt during a special teams drill. Harvin went inside to see team physician Dr. Sheldon Burns, then came back out to the field.

Soon after, Harvin was seen doubled over and trembling. Players and coaches stood in front of him to shield him while reporters watched from a distance as Harvin received medical attention.

"I don't know how they classify it," Childress said after practice. "Not really a seizure, but he had some trouble over here. I'd be remiss if I tried to qualify it one way or another. It seemed like he was stable."

The Vikings continued with practice for about five minutes while Harvin was being worked on, then drills were stopped. After Harvin was loaded into the ambulance, the team gathered on the field and took a knee in prayer. Players resumed their work for a few more minutes before calling practice over at least an hour early.

"It was an eye-opener," running back Adrian Peterson said. "It's been tough for him. I just encourage him the best way I can."

The ambulance did not leave immediately after Harvin was loaded, and it left without its siren or lights on. Though the situation didn't appear grave, the mood was somber.

"Obviously that one hit, and it hit hard," Childress said. "It's always scary for all of our guys when you see a teammate struggling with whatever."

Childress said that Harvin has had to go to the hospital for a migraine before, as a college star at the University of Florida.

"I've seen him with one before. I've gotten him off the field with one before. I've seen the start of one coming on before, but certainly nothing to that magnitude," Childress said.

Migraine triggers vary from person to person, but rising humidity and changes in barometric pressure can cause them, as can the glare of the sun.

Since Harvin started missing practice as a rookie last year, the Vikings have received all kinds of suggestions to treat the migraines. Harvin has sought treatment from expert after expert, but Thursday's episode was the latest example of how hard of a problem it is to solve.

"I think by this happening it kind of lets the team know exactly how hard it is," left tackle Bryant McKinnie said. "A lot of times it doesn't take place in front of us. So now by people actually seeing it, they see it's really not a joke.

"Some of us knew for real that he was really suffering from it," McKinnie said. "Maybe some other people in some of their minds they weren't sure, but I think they are aware now."

Dear Mr. Childress;
He shook because he was in pain. It is enough to knock anyone to the ground.

But of course I am a Green Bay Packers fan(atic)- hehehe
I hope that Mr. Percy Harvin III's migraines might be controlled just enough to allow the kid to pursue his football dream.
Careers have been lost many times, and I would hate to see this happen to such a decent young man.

... and then (apparently from the idiots corner of the comments) came this- "Hey all you migriene suffer's,a sure quick cure,Put a loaded gun to area that hurts the worse, pull the dam trigger, guarntee,no more pain, works swell for bipolar probelms, tooth aches, runny nose, tearing, ear aches,"

My wish for the above (kinda stupid) commenter is that he might have one, full~blown, attack. Just one.

I have said many times that when there are people that do kill themselves- and who seemingly "had everything to live for" - when there is no reason to commit suicide, (not that there ever is), that I would lay good money on the fact that they were dealing with migraine.
Think about that before you are so callous as to be the idiot above.

Oil Doesn't Float?!?

Giant Oil Plume Found Lurking Below Surface Of Gulf

by Dan Charles
August 20, 2010

Scientists have mapped out, for the first time, the underwater path that some petrochemicals took after gushing from BP's oil well in the Gulf of Mexico. It's an important new piece in a huge scientific puzzle.

Researchers are trying to figure out where as much as half of the spilled oil has gone.

Christopher Reddy, a co-author of the new study, says it was a big surprise when scientists first reported that large amounts of oil and oil compounds were staying underwater, rather than rising to the surface.

"If you’d asked me -– and I've been studying oil spills for 15 years -– whether or not you would see oil in the subsurface, I would have said 'No,'" he said at a news conference on Thursday. "Doesn't oil float?"

The phenomenon is fascinating, but also troublesome, he says, because if scientists don't know where the oil is, they also don't know what harm it may be causing.

In June, Reddy and his colleagues from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution took a research ship to the scene of the spill. They lowered a sensor deep into the water and towed it in a large circle around the blown-out well, looking for particular hydrocarbons that are easy to detect.

The sensor picked up a hydrocarbon signal southwest of the well, in a layer of water 3000 feet below the surface.

Richard Camilli, another researcher from WHOI, says they then sent down a new device -– a small unmanned submarine called Sentry.

"We had Sentry fly at a constant depth in kind of a zigzag pattern, moving out from the well site, tracking the plume," he said.

If you'd asked me -- and I've been studying oil spills for 15 years -- whether or not you would see oil in the subsurface, I would say, 'No, doesn't oil float?'"

The hydrocarbons, including benzene and toluene, were highly diluted in the water. They were coming from the gushing well, but they weren't spreading out in all directions. Instead, they followed an invisible underwater channel just over a mile wide and 650 feet thick. The researchers tracked that channel southwest for 22 miles, until bad weather forced them to stop.

They looked for signs that microorganisms are feasting on those petroleum products and breaking them down, but didn't see any. Reddy says they don't know exactly why.

"Microbes are a lot like teenagers," he says. "They work on their own time, at their own scale. They do what they want when they want."

There are many other unknowns. Reddy and his colleagues don't yet know how much of the oil from the well is in this plume. They hope to arrive at an estimate in a few months, after analyzing all their water samples. They also don't know how toxic the plume may be to wildlife.

Yet this is the best-documented case so far of oil flowing underwater. It was released on Thursday by the journal Science.

"This is a big piece of the puzzle," says Steven Murawski, science adviser for fisheries at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Murawski is trying to put the whole puzzle together. He is in touch with many of the research vessels –- as many as seven on any given day -– that are working in the Gulf of Mexico.

Murawski says additional scientific reports about oil in the deep sea around the well will be released in the coming weeks. But he'd like to see more scientists working in other places, such as on the continental shelf, the wide shallow area close to shore where most fish live. Murawski says he’s drafting plans to expand such research.

Others are still holding out.

I'll Second That!

State Capitol, Texas Presidential candidate G.W. Bush prides himself on presiding over 121 executions with perfect oversight.

State representative Tim Moore wanted to show how careful the legislative process was in the state.

Representative Tim Moore sponsored a resolution in the Texas House of Representatives in Austin, Texas calling on the House to commend Albert de Salvo for his unselfish service to "his country, his state and his community."

The resolution stated that "this compassionate gentleman's dedication and devotion to his work has enabled the weak and the lonely throughout the nation to achieve and maintain a new degree of concern for their future. He has been officially recognized by the state of Massachusetts for his noted activities and unconventional techniques involving population control and applied psychology."

The resolution was passed unanimously.
Representative Moore then revealed that he had only tabled the motion to show how the legislature passes bills and resolutions often without reading them or understanding what they say.
Albert de Salvo was the Boston Strangler.

Triskaidekaphobia! (And Fried Brains)?

Triskaidekaphobia (Click on the word if you don't know what it is).

I don't have it...
(Probably one of the few things that doesn't run in the family too)!  hehehe

Good Morning all;
Storm warnings are out... So I will be typing fast- Forgive any errors.

It is just beginning to get dark.  Quite dark.  Which is an odd thing to say at 9AM.
Flash flood warnings are already out- My weather radio went off 3+ hours ago telling me that there was a storm watch. I don't really pay attention to the watches, but am happy for the heads~up too.

Checking the radar on weather channel was this (then).

From the weather channel
That blob has now morphed and is much closer...

Then came this on the news-

Doug_Friday_morning

He said to pay attention in about an hour because winds could be in excess of 60mph.
What? Does he want me to watch as everything goes flying across the yard?!?
Funny guy...

At the risk of making my son in law, William laugh out loud, I have a complaint.

I've been hot. Too hot. (And miserably humid as well).

Now add 77% humidity 100F

I do not get along with these nasty hot and humids...
Those who live with it, and like it? I think the weather has fried your brain.
hehehe

The weekend begs me to be rich, and to get out and enjoy.
If I had the means, I would happily go for a sail on any of these ships!!!
The Tall Ship Festival is once again in Green Bay, and OH! I would LOVE to go!!!

tall ship festival

Wouldn't you love it too?
Spendy though, and they are even charging just to walk acro$$ the bridge from one side of the Fox River to the other?!
WTH?
That's crazy!

Another place I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to go is Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
(Yeah, that sorta goes without saying).
hehehe

But, at the end of August the Kewadin Casino in
Sault Ste. Marie is having a 2-day Paranormal Convention-
Billed as "the largest paranormal gathering of its kind in the Midwest", when I received the flyer for it I wanted to leave immediately

By now, you all know how intrigued I am with this subject. Casey is also, and of course wants to go too. I don't think it's going to be possible- One thing I have learned in these 50+ years of mine is that a body can dream forever if need be...

upprs

Please visit their page here- Very interesting stuff!
Their top page even says the
head office is located in Sault Ste. Marie in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where people are affectionately referred to as Yoopers!

Just returning from Sault Ste Marie is my Cousin Tiffany (known affectionately as "Buttercup"). She is on her way back to Colorado to return to her teaching job, having spent her summer at her home in The Soo.
She stayed overnight Wednesday- a nice break in her travel, (even nicer that she came here)!
This morning she woke in Iowa City, spending the night with friends. "So far so good" reads the text I got from her earlier- A good thing!

Tiffany and Casey

Her T-Shirt says Tru-Native-Yooper! hehehe
"In winter we shovel snow and in summer we swat mosquitoes. During the spring and fall we rest up for swatting and shoveling". (Peter Oikarinen's reply to the often-asked question of Yoopers, "What do you people do up there?" 1987-)
If you want to giggle,
do the click...  hehehe
I made a Shrimp Scampi for a lighter fare Wednesday evening- The stew can wait til tomorrow- too hot to be simmering that all day!
I also made a fresh (Michigan) peaches "crisp"
Casey brought out ice cream and everything was perfect! (If I do say so myself)!
hehehe

Yesterday morning just an 'farmers wife' fare for filling up before the heat of the day kicked in. Fresh (local) blueberries in the pancakes, Wisconsin smoked sausage, Wisconsin bacon, Wisconsin potatoes, fresh (Door County) cherries, and a bit of caffeine for medicinal purposes too!
Mmmm!
(I done good)! hehehe
Tiffany remarked that I was a good cook! (Loving to cook, I also love the compliments)!

Are you hungry yet?!

No blog is complete without seeing Punk with 'her' Casey!
I swear the dog gets depressed if she doesn't see Casey for a few days...

Punk and her Casey

They are both (basically) healthy for now.
Doc Spires called to check on Miss Punk yesterday. Nice that. I told him that Punk seems to be doing much better, (and I was very happy to report there have been no further barf episodes).
Gee, are ya still hungry?!
hehehe
Hmmm... Maybe it's not so 'nice' of him. Perhaps it is his way of thanking me for repaving his parking lot and making his truck payments.   hehehe

Casey goes in next week for her recheck for her blood testing. This will be the final test for whether she needs more iron infusions, and to maybe tell us how her body is processing it all.
We will have those results the following Monday or Tuesday- Seems like such a long wait. Sometimes I think that is what we do best.

I'd better close for now- a few 'rumbles' outside, but no rain yet. The field hands are all still working.

Have a 'wunnaful' weekend!

Love to all
