And she is back with a very special message for everyone who is partaking of anything spicy or fizzy! Like anyone who ate any of my chili!! hehehe
No major problems for her at any of the airports; save a 4~hour layover in St. Louis... But from St. Louis to Chicago, she at least had someone nice to talk with...
Roberta stopped by to collect both the $$ and the shopping list from me; she would do my shopping before she picked Casey up at the airport. (And I know this Grandma is biased and/or partial, but Master Gabriel is just such a joy... and ever so handsome too)!
After she had deposited Casey back here and we had eaten, she still had to go cut Miss Valeries hair. Gabriel was a bit fussy, and I rocked with him and he had his little blanket too- Having been quite deprived of a nap yesterday, he was still holding his own, and only a bit bent out of shape about it all... He refused anything more than a few bites of the Tater~Tot Casserole, and just wanted a bit of loving and to be held... His eyes looking a bit odd, and I asked her if she thought he might have a headache. He had almost fell to sleep on my lap then when his Mama said it was time to go and cut hair...
Casey and I were also quite tired, and both of us fell asleep by about 10~ish... She had gone upstairs, and Punk and I had settled in the living room. About 20 after one this morning, Roberta called to say she had to bring little Gabriel in to the Emergency Room- He had a temp of 104+ -and still had not slept; but had been very very uncomfortable all night long. (104 is 'pushing it' for a 14 month old toddler), and she wasn't taking any chances.
Since I had gotten a few hours of sleep, I woke up then, let Punkie out and tried to do a bit of catching up with all of your blogs... Spoke to Roberta about 4, and they could not find anything wrong...
So they say what every doctor will say in a situation like this... (And how many of us mothers have heard this one)?
"(S)He has a virus, make sure (s)he gets enough liquids, give her/him advil for the fever and the pain, and should it not resolve itself with in *X* number of days, please see your regular pediatrician."
blah blah blah...
Roberta not buying any of it, watching him closely and knowing how he felt, suggested to me after they had gotten home, that perhaps he had inherited the nasty migraine disease from herself. Makes sense to me too- having seen that "look" in his eyes, the fever (from pain) and the refusal to eat, (but then to barf it up anyway)... Why didn't we think about this before??? And it makes me wonder in Roberta and Caseys situations when they were ever so little, how many of their own insidious crap was due to this disease too? I told her to give him a bit of Mountain Dew and Chocolate should he awaken and still have that look about him... Weirdly enough this combination actually works... Not entirely sure why either.
And much later on, I went back to sleep~ until after 10!!! (Yes, A.M.)!!!
Master Gabriel is fine today, driving home Roberta's own diagnosis, in almost no uncertain terms- and certainly not reinforcing the 'virus' explanation that came from the doctors at the E.R.
Casey slept until almost 11... She had her wash to do so I quick got in the shower... And it has been a calm and quiet day for us... Yes, my toothache is gone! And no it was not infected (unless Gabriel and I share such a grand scale immune system)... Just a bit had broken off is all; and yeah, it takes a while for the pain to go away is all.
No, dentists around here do not accept 'payments' no matter how 'well~off' a patient may be, (nor in how much pain), nor how great their insurance plans are. That is simply not done, no matter how one tries to arrange it all... I didn't realize it would/could be any different in any other areas? (Hmmm, Please let me know where to relocate)?!?! hehehe... But all better now! Casey still has work to be done on her own mouth and hers will come first.
My hand, thumb and index finger are all still working... and as DeeAnne described it best yesterday it is the pain of sleepy feet waking, TIMES 100, to be having it all regain function... Yet it is SO worth it too!
(I am still looking at them, making them move, and proclaiming this 'healing' yet another miracle in my life)!!!
And I am ever so happy that "All's well that ends well" too!
Even Punkie waited anxiously for Casey to come home yesterday...
Oh, and the window in the door to the entrance? Broken long ago- (maybe Mary had seen another "MOW-ISS" and jumped through it). I never put a new one in, and it worked wonders to have the litterbox in the basement and Mr. Amos could "go" anytime he needed to!!!
Time for this granny to be fixin' some dinner, so will end this on that note today-
Hope everyone had a wonderful Monday... (Really, is there such a thing)??? hehehe
XOXO
Anne
Oh and before I forget, please visit my daughter Jennifer's 360 Page too, and welcome her to our 360 World!!! Now that she is in Texas, we will be keeping in touch through here! (And yeah, she's got a sense of humor that could make Red Skelton roll over a few times)...
Have fun with all the links!!!
An added PS now that I want everyone to please understand...
It is an indisputable and very well known fact that what causes migraines also makes them dissipate...
The above 'migraine disease' link puts many of the outdated ideas and old wives tales to rest too... Hence the few swallows of these items will make Gabriel at least "weller" enough to sleep.
Clearly, I really was not joking; those statements were made in all seriousness.
I myself do not ever "Do the Dew" unless I am getting a migraine... The same goes for partaking of anything with real chocolate in it. (The Maxalt is quite expen$ive, and since I have been known to be a bit miserly myself, I go straight for a Can of Dew first, then the chocolate... And if I am not feeling better in a few minutes, then I will take the Maxalt). Ofttimes, this actually DOES work, but only on MIGRAINE mind you...
XOXO
Me again...
