Good Afternoon All;

First of all, to let you all know I am still having a very hard time navigating anywhere on Multiply. It takes forever for your pages to come up and to load and to go to a next blog or to look at anything. Please forgive me for not getting around as I once did back in the old days of our 360 world. You are all still so very special to me. And to those that I can still get to your blogs on 360, I say Thank you!

And on to my blog...

I apologize for not writing; having just been so very tired. Also having had to keep myself off the phone line too, as we waited (and waited) for just one magical return phone call from Froedtert.
I cannot begin to tell you how many times I repeated Caseys story to anyone willing to listen to me down there.
Thank goodness they have an 800 number.
Only one person that answered wanted (demanded) to give me the direct number to the GI Clinic.
Refusing that, she then wanted to know WHY I wanted to talk to them-
(Sorry lady, even I know your job is NOT to prequalify anyone)...

Mostly though, I got sent to a lot of voice mails and promptly forgot how to act when a real LIVE person came on the line!
hehehe

Yes, I will be bringing her down next Friday... Earlier if her pain returns.

Wait. She still has pain.
I brought her to the clinic yesterday. The hospital had only given her a few days worth of the Oxycontin and Oxycodone anyway. Her regular doctor is still out of town, and we met another very nice doctor who actually took the time to familiarize himself with Caseys medical history, and with the latest "erred" record from St. Marys Hospital here in town.
(And I use the term "erred" lightly)...

Yes, I get angry about all of this, because there have been so many times that I have felt so very helpless just watching as the medical profession has done little or nothing.
'Jewel' said it best... "My whole goal is to keep my spirit intact. If that doesn't happen, none of this is worth it."

Due to the nature of the beast inside of Casey, they now have switched her to two different types of morphine. Like the Oxy drugs she was on, one is longer acting, one is shorter. But hallelujah, they seem to be working a bit better for her pain too!

She has an unknown spot on her liver.
Also something in the right midsection of her right lung too. (This is nowhere near to where they had done the pleurodesis or the partial removal of her lung either).

Too many questionable things that they failed to even inform us of.

Her ECG had come back 'abnormal' as early as her trip to the ER- And had remained UNCHANGED as she had that crushing pain in her chest and that seizure. (The episode where they tried to tell us it was anxiety)? Yeah, I don't think so!
WTF???
(Sorry, but I am so far past trying to be nice)...
CLICK HERE if you missed that story.

This happened the night before they released her???
What in Gods name were these 'professionals' thinking?
Or am I wrong to be concerned,
(mountains out of molehills and all that)?
>sigh< I am simply losing my mind...

Of course I also wonder WHY on earth her own father has not contacted/visited her?
(I called his work when no one would answer at his home or even his cell).
And what of her two eldest sisters?
(Oh yes, they know. I raised them better than that, this blog is open, and they are NOT stupid).
This is NOT the time to be playing your childish, petty, and stupid games!

~~~
As I woke yesterday and after the sun had come up, I realized I had to get out of the house (or do the damn dishes).
hehehe
I chose the walk to the woods with the dogs. After all, it has been over that magical 32 degree mark for a while during the days here, and we have also had enough sunshine to remove a bit of the depth of the snow.
As it was early and still chilly, I put the old snowpants on anyway, and the snowmobile boots...
.
.
Mama Milly runs way ahead of Punk and I...
The Punk always has to turn around as if to ask me, "Why so slow?"
.
.
Miss Milly, way back by the woods...
(And, I think, with the ball she had left there 2 weeks ago)!
.
.
While Punk waited for me to catch up, she inspected a furrow...
Nothing too interesting...
.
.
.
So she comes running back to me to tell me to "HURRY!"
The snow was still quite deep in places.
I tried to stay on top of the plowed furrows.
.
.
Part of the river is actually open!!!
Milly, actually is down in the weeds (lower left quad) in this picture.
And even with my coaxing, Punk would NOT go down.
.
.
Maybe her STICK INCIDENT is still too fresh in her mind.
And she wasn't about to be taking any chances.
(
Click here if you don't know what happened to her eye)
Her eye does seem fine.
Though I still must bring her in for her recheck.
.
.
Staggering back home about an hour later~ Hey, what can I say??? I'm out of practice fighting snowbanks and all ...between my extreme back pain, and the lack of snowfall. (No Mother Nature, this is NOT a complaint)!
So, I actually took a break. Realizing a bit too late that sitting down was something that I should not have done with respect to my stupid back, I jokingly told Punk to "go get Casey"...
.
.
...And she was off like a shot!
But returned just as quickly,
She must've realized she had no opposing thumb to open the door.
hehehe
.
.
In the meanwhile, her wandering Mama Milly had disappeared off to places unknown once more.
I have no idea where she goes; and as I stumbled back into the yard, I got into Caseys car and drove down the road looking for this wandering spirit of a dog that I have.
No luck...
But she did return home about 45 minutes later...
I'd better close for now and get busy. I believe I have about 9 months of dishes to do. (OK, maybe it only looks like that)... And of course my ever present, and beckoning laundry hamper.
Time for me to fly!
I hope you are all having a wunnaful, warm week.
My love to all.
XOXO,
Anne
  2. Pea,
    No sh*t. (And I thought it was just me).
    Glad we had them fax everything down to Froedtert too. Maybe they can make heads/tails out of it all for us.
    And maybe they can/WILL offer some answers and fixes.
    Keep on praying my Sweet!
    XOXO
    Me
    PS I am in the middle of reading an article here, so maybe give me 5 more minutes.
    UNLIKE yourself I can neither read, nor type, 1500 words per minute.
    hehehe
    Love you.
    Mama D.
  3. You mean there was a doctor who actually read her file(s)? What a novelty! May miracles never cease. (note the sarcasm)
    I'm just glad she's home. I'm really hope someone somewhere manages to figure something out to help her. It's long overdue.
    Glad you were able to get outside to explore your countryside again.
    Hugs to one and all.
  4. Sweet Donna;
    I am happy she is home for now too!
    And now I wish her appointment next week would be for more than a consultation. But who knows, maybe I am making mountains out of molehills and all...
    Sure hope so.
    For now though I still have to get outside and pick up a few little hills of doggie~doo~doo
  6. Im sorry your still having issues with Multiply.. I sure dont understand.. mine seems to load way faster than yahoo ever did. anyways
    Im really glad to see Miss Casey up and about.. learning about spots on lungs and liver.. that has to be very scary.. Please give her a great big hug from me and JT. At least there is an appointment made.. hopefully someone somewhere will give her some much needed relief.
    Glad you and the girls got to get out and about and go play in the snow.. even if you did get stuck..hehe (Im not referring to a vehicle here) unless of course you refer to that back of yours as a vehicle. You know better than to sit down haha
    Good punk going after help..hehe That is odd where Miss Milly takes off to.. no telling where that one goes.
    Punk may remember that stick incident for a very long time.. I know my little girl remembers things for awhile.. especially if its something she likes or has scared her. Im sure pain is a great memory trigger too.
    Love to all of you and big big hugs!
  7. Good Morning Everyone...
    I sent a note off to my friend WYCK this morning as she has her nursing degree.
    It explains about Caseys tests etc...
    maybe some of you will know how to interpret these words too.
    My own brain seems kinda dumb lately. Maybe it too is tired?
    hehehe
    here's that note...
    Well, part of it anyway...
    (Verbatim from her medical records from Saint Marys Hospital).
    ~~~~

    ..."There is a small nonspecific low density lesion in the right lobe of the liver, which is too small to characterize."

    This was done sans contrast dye.
    (They wanted to see if there were any areas of calcification within the pancreas, and we were told that the dye would have made those areas harder to see).

    ~~~~
    On another page then...
    "Focal linear opacity in perihilar central right lung, suggestive of atelectasis, (new since 11/10/07). Ledft lung remians clear. Mild bilateral apical thickening."
    "CONCLUSION: Mild central right perihilar subsegmental atelectstasis."
    ~~~~

    (This, from her ECG)...

    Sinus tachycardia.

    Nonspecific ST abnormality

    ***ABNORMAL ECG

    When compared with ECG of 10-NOV-2007.

    **Nonspecific T wave abnormaility evident in inferior leads.

    **Nonspecific T wave abnormality evident in Anterolateral leads

    ~~~~
    Am guessing that I need this all explained on an 8 year old level.
    Stupid me anyway...
    hehehe
  8. Oh and about that ECG/EKG...
    I "knew" there was something going on with her heart!
    And have tried to get them to tell me this many times.
    Granted, I still do not know what "it" might be, but damn, you can bet that I WILL find out.
    A 'normal' heart rate does NOT stay over 110 bpm, consistently for over a month!
    This is nuts.
    (I might be too, but that's ok).
    To thank you all for your love, your support, your friendships, and your prayers.
    May you all have a blessed (and HOPPY) Easter.
    XOXO
    Anne
  9. And one more thing.
    About my inability to navigate around Multiply...
    When I post on here, there are people that I email my entries to.
    (And I do love this feature). I even email one to myself and I can proffread it that way.
    When I get your replies then I can add/reply back while I am in my own email. That way it doesn't matter HOW long it takes and I can go on doing something else then.
    SO, maybe if you want, you can email me your blogs, and I can then keep current and comment that way?
    Just a thought anyway.
    But "Pretty Please" too?
    Love to all
    XOXO
  10. Although it would be better for Casey if her appointment at Froedtert were sooner, I do believe you could use a little peace and quiet before you tackle another medical institution. More walks in the woods, and less dishes are what this doctor (wink) orders for you young lady!
    Punk looks much better. Sometimes being a little "snake bit" after an injury can be a good thing. It means she's going to be a little more careful next time, or at least she's stopping to think.
    BTW did you look into the site info I sent to you about the University of Chicago Medical Center? They seem to have a top notch pancreatic team there. If nothing else it would give you one more option in addition to Froedtert.
  11. sorry about the call thingy...waited, got dragged into meeting with my boss then my dad got here early and I had to run out to pick him up at the airport........
    ReplyDelete
  12. I did check into UChicago before you'd even sent that to me. But I sure did appreciate the reminder. Micki is trying to get a hold of them for Little Miss Mariah too.
    (Small sad world we live in)...
    Punk has an appointment at 2:45 this afternoon to be rechecked (her eye).
    I am expecting all to be well.
    Jenny Mella has just left with Casey to bring her to the Social Security Office. Hopefully that will open up a whole new world of insurance for her?
    Pea.
    As always, you worry too much.
    Stop it right now.
    Must fly for now.
    XOXO
    Me
