[My] Life in Wisconsin

VERY GOOD NEWS!!!!

Sometimes ya just gotta share!

Once upon a time,  there was a young(ish) lady who wanted to have a garden.
She asked her mama if she could borrow some dirt.
Her mama said "yes!"
(But that she had to do ALL of the work associated)...

.
.

So she was taught how to use the little Simplicity Tiller.
.
.

AND,
she had very good help to show her how to plant her garden!
.
One day her mama called,
and said that her very bad weeds needed pulling.
.
.
She had to pull out all the very bad weeds;
(some that were almost as tall as she was)...

.
.
The very good helper showed her how to deal with those weeds.
.
.
And everybody celebrated that those very bad weeds were gone!
.
.

Well, ALMOST everybody...
.
.
.
Now getting back to my REAL blog;
(and my VERY GOOD NEWS)...

Due to circumstances beyond my control, ie: Mother Nasty, (er, I mean "Nature"), has decided for me that it will be too hot today to go out and mow.
(THAT is very good news for the grass at my home ~and at Kelli's too).

Mother Nasty, (er, I mean Nature), has also decided for me that it is too hot to hoe.
And THAT is VERY GOOD NEWS for my own weeds!

THEY SHALL LIVE ANOTHER DAY!!!!

Mother Nasty, (er, well you know), has also informed me that those same weeds might even get their last supper tonight.

That is, if they do not drown,
...(or get blowed into the next county).

Stay cool and safe.

And have a 'wunnaful' weekend!

XOXO
Anne
(ok yeah, so the pictures might be a two years old)...
SO?
hehehe  Have a good one!

  1. It's the same thing here....though my weeds won't be living to see another day. The grass on the other hand is a different story. I'm not taking the chance of trying to do it all by myself being Cee is gone and end up passed out in the middle of the yard from heat stroke. BEEN THERE, DONE THAT MANY YEARS AGO AND IT WASN'T A WHOLE LOT OF FUN!

  2. Not sure about the 'stroke' part of it Sweet Pam, but I have been overheated too many times in my life from this type of weather...
(It's not heat 'stroke' but it's heat something anyway).

And now it just makes me ill.
    Think rotgut.
    Think dizzy.
Think headache. (A normal one though).
    Loss of appetite.
And more insomnia that is good for a body.

Nope. I don't like it at all.

    But I do love YOU!
    hehehe

    XOXO

  3. I had full blown heat stroke when I was 16. Was out "cutting thistles" in the back pasture, no shade to speak of and the next thing I knew, my dad was trying to wake me up. I had managed to crawl to a nearby stand of wild plum trees. I don't know how long I was out there like that but ever since, if I get to hot, I get sicker than a dog.

  4. ROFLOL at your blog...FUNNY!

We're under a heat advisory today..heat index is expected to read 105! YIKES! A/C will be running full throttle today. [groans at the thought of next electric bill]

I too have had heat stroke...not something I care to experience again. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER!

  5. Well arent you lucky that Mother Na-ture... is helping you by making the weather just perfect for you to stay inside or sit under a shade tree. Now thats when you need one of those fancy hammocks to lay up under the shadetree and read a book and eat pealed grapes.

Mother Nature isnt being so sweet to me.. She says I still need to get out and mow because she is gonna be making all the grass really really high if'n I dont git to it soon.

Wonderful shots, even if they are a little older... a great way to use them if you ask me.

The temps here are about 89 with humidity around 60%... not bad at all.. still hot but theres a cool breeze thats helping.

Well time for me to head back outside... luv ya's

    mucho hugs

  6. It's cool here, not even 70, and my grass is growing like crazy. I have to mow every 5 days to keep up!

  7. Sweet CAT!

The heat index here has to be at least 84.
    hehehe
And SO windy right now- Black clouds to the southwest.

Lots of really BAD weather down by Milwaukee...
My birthmom lives down there- a handful of sisters, nieces and nephews; and many friends as well...

    So prayers are most welcome.
I will call Miss Madonna when the skies clear down there.

  8. Sweet ConnieBeep!

The image you have conjured up of the hammock is really great...
But who will peel my damned grapes????

Oh my grass is SO high I haven't mowed since last weekend, and that is not like me at all.
(But hey, like I said, I am saving fuel right)?

89 sucks Sweetie. I would die.

Love to you and your sweet mowing ass!

    XOXO

  9. Sweet Tucker!
I have mowed lawns late as early December, and early as late March here...
But I have YET to mow ANY lawns this week!!!

I know what you mean about the dang grass growing so fast. generally I have a 4 or 5 day break inbetween.

    7 is definitely pushing it.
But every time I thought I could do it this week it rained.

So it's ugly. But I saved gas!!!

Oh look! Another challenge for my Cub Cadet!

    Love to you

    XOXO

  10. OOPS AGAIN!!!
(Maybe the heat IS getting to me)!
    hehehe

    Sweet Pam;
I used to get SO sick baling hay...

And as far as the thistles went, I usually got out of milking in the morning to get those sickled down.
Hindsight: This is probably the only way Pa could get rid of me AND make sure I was busy at the same time...
Guess he was a normal parent too. (Does that make ME normal too)???
    hehehe

    XOXO

  11. Not even 70 somewhere? I'll trade...gladly I'll trade. My head is pounding because of the heat...just grateful it isn't a migraine.

Tomorrow through Tuesday we'll be under and extended excessive heat watch...temps are going to climb into the 90's and I don't even want to think about what the heat index will be.

Oh to have a nice COOL summer with cool gentle breezes...temps not over 70...low humidity. That is my kind of summer.

Take care with the weather. I've had the Weather Channel on for a while now and things don't look good for your state.

    Be safe.

  12. The summer heat is here, today's high was around 96. It's too hot to do anything but maintenance outside now, unless the work is done early in the AM or after 6PM. Air quality has also been real bad. The smog from surrounding big cities (Atlanta, Chattanooga, Asheville) all blows up to the mountains. They should rename the "Smokey Mountains" the "Smoggy Mountains" (cough cough).

Dang! - I never did get my impatiens started - that's something I still need to do, hot or not.

I'm lost as to who the people are in your pictures. The only ones I recognize for sure are you and Casey in the bottom two.

  13. I'm glad there are no nasty photos of a certain broken back doing that work :)

Enjoy your day away from weed patrol!

  14. Just gotta find ya a sexy yard boy I suppose. hehe

Actually after a week of 96+ with high humidities... 89 feels fantastic! hehe As long as I have a breeze and a shade tree at least part of the time.. It doesnt bother me over much.

I saw the most fantastic hammock at Sams.. comes complete with stand, shade, and side table... Let me tell ya if I could have justified the expense that puppy woulda been mine!
