April 20 ~They Blew Up!

Sunset Saturday night, driving home,
Just before the rains finally came
.
.
Good Monday Morning!
Not much news from Flintville today- Just a few pics, and maybe a giggle

But what a difference a day makes!

In my Saturday blog I had posted this photo, taken on Friday...
.
.
first bloom
.
.
And then overnight,
a bomb must have went off and blew them both up!
.
.

003
.
.
So miraculous is Springtime!

Maybe the temps had a bit to do with it...

.
.
015

The national weather service for Green Bay reported a high of 75.
But we are always colder in winter and warmer in summer...
(Never did figure out why that is,
something to do with being at the bottom of the hill).

;
;
I hope too that the temps and the advent of a real Spring/Summer will also cause Casey to rebloom a bit.
She is only at about 95 pounds... And in need of Pa's
suspenders!
hehehe
(By contrast, Punk has her beat by a couple of bags of potatoes).
.
.
.
.
This little beast (fortunately for him/her) lived to see Sunday.
And if it keeps eating all my birdseed it too will have Casey beat.
.
.
008

Brave too, as it sat there -almost posing- for my camera and I.
.
.
.
It is currently 36 degrees, but we will only have this for another day or two- Temps will climb back to the 70's by Friday. And that's close enough to perfect for me!
As is the rain that is falling as I type- A slow soaking rain too.
The weatherman on TV keeps saying the damnable "S" word. Know that I used to respect him (before this past Winter). hehehe

I hope your week is close enough to perfect for you too !
Love to all,

XOXO

...a little smile to start your week.

A man and a woman were sitting beside each other in the first class section of an airplane.

The woman sneezed, took out a tissue, gently wiped her nose, then visibly shuddered for ten to fifteen seconds.

The man went back to his reading.

A few minutes later, the woman sneezed again, took a tissue, wiped her nose, then shuddered violently once more.

Assuming that the woman might have a cold, the man was still curious about the shuddering.

A few more minutes passed when the woman sneezed yet again.

As before, she took a tissue wiped her nose, her body shaking even more than before.

Unable to restrain his curiosity, the man turned to the woman, 'I couldn't help but notice' he said, 'that you've sneezed three times, wiped your nose and then shuddered violently. Are you OK?'

'I am sorry if I disturbed you ,' she replied. 'I have a very rare medical condition; whenever I sneeze I have an orgasm.'

The man, more than a bit embarrassed, was still curious.
'I have never heard of that condition before' he said.
'Are you taking anything for it?'

The woman nodded, 'Black Pepper.'

um... Please pass the pepper?

  1. Rain, rain, and rain here. We had 2 days in the lower 70's and now we are back to the wet 40's and 50's. The teasing sucks :(

  2. Rain here in KY also, but we need the water table raised after the dry spells the last couple of years. So I really don't mind. The Hyacinths are beautiful. My daffodils are already faded but the Iris is coming on strong. That sunset is breathtaking. Try putting out some pine cones filled with peanut butter and rolled in bird seed for your striped bandit. He may leave your feeders alone if he has his own meal. Enjoy your week.

  3. That sunset picture is BEAUTIFUL!! And it does look like your flowers blew up overnight! My dogwoods and azaleas are blooming right now and my yard has small seas of white and pink blossoms everywhere.

I wish pepper had that effect on me!

  5. HAHAHAHA!!! Love the joke! That's hilarious!

Yes, it is snowing here... Blasted weatherpeople!!! Nevermind! Great news! The snow has stopped!!! YAY!!!!

Anywho, the blooms on those flowers are surreal!! The pinecone doesn't look like a pinecone anymore... *tear*

What a gorgeous sunset! Just a beautiful picture! The 82 degrees is also quite beautiful! Hard to believe that I got a sunburn that day with the weather we're having now.... At least it didn't hurt and now it's just a red hue which will hopefully turn into a nice tan color!

I do love spring's wonders, just not the cold that sometimes is required by the rains/etc.... Oh well, soon the temps will be returning to warm and even hot... Then we'll complain about the heat! Humans are such interesting creatures, aren't we? Hee hee hee...

    Love you Much Much!
    ~Casey

  6. That Flintville weather is funny....one extreme to another !!

    The flowers are beautiful!!

That sunset is awesome....I am such a sucker for a good sunrise/set.

Maybe NOW Miss Casey will put on a bit of weight and keep it around a while....I hope so :)

    ReplyDelete
  7. Good morning to you. I do pray Casey can put a bit of weight on for a healthy feeling. But all that's she has been through, I just can't even grasp.
Love the pictures. And it does seem Spring has sprung for your area.

  8. Beautiful cloud picture!

Yep...a little rain, a little sun and the flowers burst forth smiling.

That aint the chipmunk that got away from Rob a couple of years back is it? I wonder if he packed his bag and headed north to avoid another BB gun incident.

    How is Caseyface today?

    ReplyDelete
  9. So glad your day is going well. It might be time for that varmint to meet up with a BB or the water hose. Take care of yourself.

  10. I can smell the flowers from here!

I love the scent of hyacinths! Mine have not bloomed yet. Oddly those come later here while everything else comes early.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The weather is beautiful here in TX right now too. Come June I'll be praying for snow, or a slight breeze. I miss home. Pics are wonderful.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Sunny here and supposed to get up to 70 today! :D:D:D

You always take such great pictures! I love the chipmunk picture! He's just too cute!

ROFLMAO @ the joke! Could you please pass the pepper? LMAOOOOO!

Hope you have a wonderful week!

    Love Ya!

  13. I shall return-
Just had to come online before I (finally) get some groceries. (Like black pepper)?!?
    ;-)
I promise to respond to your comments when I get back from town.

    Love and XOXO,
    "Mother Hubbard"

    ReplyDelete
  14. You need black pepper when you got a man who takes you for evening stolls on the beach????

    ReplyDelete

  15. Sweet Oka;
You are right about the tease- Nasty that!
But it is still better than having this weather in November. At least now we know it has to stop at some point.
(As long as it stops at about 80 also). hehehe

    XOXO
    Me

Oh it was 37 degrees the whole time I was gone...

    ReplyDelete
  16. Welcome Sweet Kentucky!
You are right about the water tables. I have a well for the farm- At one point it did water 120 head of cattle, but I still worry about it being low.
The past few years have drained much of the Great Lakes, and the Bay of Green Bay too.

I do love the daffodils- And can't wait to have a few in bloom!

    XOXO
    Me

    PS
I put peanut butter on my list- and promptly forgot my list at home...

    ReplyDelete
  17. hehehe
Sweet RT, I shot that out the window of the car, driving 70mph...

I can just about smell your yard!
Bet Mr Madoc likes it too- My dogs always tried to eat flowers.
Milly was especially bad with that. I swear she would have eaten every peony in a ten mile radius if I would have allowed it!

    XOXO
    Me

    PS
    I forgot the pepper too!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sweet ShrinkyBink;
I drove home in the sneet. It is still 37 degrees, even here!
    hehehe

Sorry about your flowercone blowing up...
I have LOTS and LOTS of pinecones- and the ones back by the woods are HUGE this year.
Lady V grabbed one really big one, but Punk sat on it and it shattered. (Methinks I might shatter if she chose to sit on me too). But there are plenty of cones left!
Come help yourself. We'll make some ornaments!

There are usually 4 months out of the year that I can do one load of clothes and have sweatshirts, turtlenecks, sleeveless tops and shorts all in the same load.
    April is one of them.

    XOXO
    Mama D.

  19. Sweet BethieBaby!
I believe it was Mark Twain that originally said, "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute and it'll change"
I don't think he was talking about Wisconsin, but he sure could have been.
    hehehe

    XOXO

You will have to wait for the next blog to see the pictures of Casey now...

  20. Sweet Athena;
You are right, that girl needs weight on her bones...
I have seen all that she has been through and I cannot even begin to grasp it all, so you sure are not alone with that.

Send more Spring... hehehe (Now I am getting greedy).

    XOXO
    Me

  21. Sweet PeachieBaby!
As I write it is beginning to get a bit lighter outside- Still wet though from the rain and all else that fell today. Maybe it will brighten up tomorrow. Hope so.

    those dang varmints anyway!
It wouldn't surprise me if it knew to get out of your backyard after that!
I actually think this one is pregnant- She'll probably have about 50 or so offspring and I will regret not shooting the birdfeeder when I had a chance.

Casey is OK- Tough going. But still "going and going and going"

    XOXO
    me

  22. Mr Khool;
The water hose is particularly fun- I can put it down their holes and they come out so soaking wet. (When they make it out that is).
Last year Punk and Milly were after two soaking wet ones...

    XOXO
    me

  23. Sweet Pea, Sweet Pea;
Still coming up twice so as Mom would have said, "when in Rome..."

Do you really have "Spring" out there??? I would have put good $ on the fact that you didn't-
But I see you are going straight into the 90's too. You can keep those right there.
Your 'cornfoosed' hyacinths will be cooked... (Maybe serve them up with a lil ginger)? hehehe

    XOXO

  25. Sweet SD;
Rumor had it you would be home by now. (wth happened to that?!? huh)?
At least then you wouldn't have to be worrying about June (or July or August or September, or October for that matter...)!

I would send you a fan, but I would MUCH prefer that you come and get it.

    XOXO

  26. Sweet SlurkieBaby;
Neither "sunny" nor "seventy" sound like the "S" word my weatherman was saying.

  33. I love the pictures of the clouds and your beautiful flowers. I am glad you got to see some nice weather. We have had lots of rain here. Our low water bridge was almost flooded. I have a feeling Casey will plump up just fine. I wish I could send her some of mine. haha

So no big deal, I couldn't have come up with that in my dreams!!!

Awww. I feel bad for your mom... So many were like that-
Sadly, some young women will never "know" either.

    XOXO

Oh and now I am wondering if this is where "doing a good deed every day" comes from?

    ;-)

  38. One bud, one shoot at a time Sweet Connie!
    But they are coming!

    As you should be too!
I have a live trap, and we could gather these little critters instead of shooting them.
And you could take them all with you then!

Not sure about the weight- She really DOES eat good, but her body isn't processing it all correctly yet is all.

Bite your tongue about the damned weather. I woke to snow this morning.

    XOXO

  39. Sweet Darla!
There is still some kind of moisture falling from the clouds here- Not that we don't need it- just that it's cold.

A few months ago these thirty~some~odd degrees would have been celebrated.
    Just not on April 21st.

    XOXO
    me

    PS
    Casey gets my rolls first.

    ReplyDelete
  40. like I said earlier, that is when you just get nekkid and jump in the ocean. the water is always nice and cool.

  41. They did explode.. I think I have flowers very similar.. but they are long spent.. I know some sort of jonquil but I have never heard the name of them. to me they look like stars..

  45. not long. I look at blogs on the new page...

FYI, they say you have to clear out all your old cookies and stuff for the new page to work properly.... perhaps you should try it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I cleared out all of my cookies from my computer- (and my cupboard just in case).
it didn't help a damn thing!

But right now, and JUST a few moments ago, EVERYTHING is back in order. YAY!!!!
