505 Ladybugs
Bug "Parking"
in broad daylight!
hehehe

.
.
Good Morning Everyone;
I am still more than a bit 'hurting' here. Contrary to what my doctor offered, without an xray, I do believe my back is more than sprained. This is some nasty stuff going on. Raunchy too that I cannot get comfortable any which way.

I caught this shot of Mrs. Robin RedBreast sitting on her eggs.
(You will have to look closely- I didn't get too close).
.
.
505 Robin on nest

Her beak is pointing to the left.
(I'll do better next time).
.
.
Casey will be coming out today to help me out a bit. Gravity is my enemy, and there are a few things that have found their way to the floor that I cannot pick up. Add to that the litterbox, Punks food, and a few other things that my back is preventing me from doing. (Thank you Casey, in advance, for all your help).

We were to go to Minnesota today- Her recheck scheduled for tomorrow. Not going to happen. There is no way I am going to be sitting in the car for 4+ hours and care to live through it.
(Not to mention this Goldilocks trying to get comfortable in yet another bed).
Casey emailed U of Minnesota, Dr. Sutherland- She can reschedule for next month or have some of the tests done here and results faxed over.

When she was out last week Tuesday, (while I was still able to bend, dig and plant a few things), she looked very good!
.
.
505 Casey and Punk

I took this shot of her and Punk last Tuesday
They both look pretty good!

.
.
505 Birdbath and sun

She took this shot of the rain gauge.
.
.
Then she shot me...
.
505 Pulling weeds
.
.
Then she even shot Punk!
.

.
505 Fetch
.
.
Later, I shot her.
.

.
505 Casey
.
.
Then we shot the messy back yard...
.

.
506 nwgar

And a few little flowers out front...

506 sundial

Kelli stopped by last Friday after work...

Nice to sit in the sunshine, even if it was only in the low 60's

Punk and Miller chose to lay in the shade while we chatted.

Jenné had asked about the bees...

Yes, they are back!
Ugh.

.
.
505 wasps

Casey thought she was zooming in on one wasp.
Check it out, there are 3 in that shot!

.

.
.
As she walked around, she saw this guy back by the woods.

.
.
506 turkey
.
.
And his lady friend in the field...
.

.
505 Wild Turkey

Bet they were "parking" at some point too.
hehehe

Not sure if any of you know about airplanes...

When I had gone to the doctor for my back, this plane was flying really low by the airport.
I didn't give that another thought until I came back out of the office, and he was still flying all around.
He would seem to land. And not. Then circle again, barely above the trees.
Just quite odd.

.
.
506 plane
.
.
Know that the doctor was backed up that day
and I was inside for over an hour.

When I came out, Punk had to go potty-
Hearing a loud noise, looking up,
I see that plane still circling around...
.

.
506 plane banking
.
Any ideas why?
Strange, no?
.
.

I have about 10 of these Hosta plants that need separating
.

.
511 Hostas
.
Some bigger. Some smaller. But all need some TLC.

So close together. Time for a replant.
Just not today.
.
.
.
.
I won't be needing to transplant any of the bleeding hearts though-
They have come up ALL OVER this year!

.

.
511 Bleeding Hearts

.
.
I shall end with a couple of tulips for you!

Spring HAS sprung

...and if you ask me, in a very beautiful way!!
.

.
511 orange tulip ?????? 511 Pink tulip

Have a sunny and "wunnaful" Tuesday!

Love to all

  4. He may have been practicing touch and goes.
The flowers are lovely and Casey and Punk look great.
Hope your back eases up on you soon. Almost sounds like a pinched nerve doesn't it?

  5. The pics are great .. I love seeing and reading your blogs .. Casey looks good and Punk also .. It looks lovely around your area .. I hope your back starts feeling better real soon and if it didn't I would head back to the doc and make them do x-rays .. Have a great day Hugs

  6. Sorry you are hurt. gentle ((hugs)). Great pictures and the one that gave me smiles was Punk running with the green thing. Just so fun and free feeling.

  7. I'm sorry about your pain. Hope it gets better real soon. I cant imagine you not being able to get around for too long
The pictures are great, as always
Your picture of the "birds" reminded me of a funny story
My son moved to a new home & it came with a cat named Turkey. Ari, my Granddaughter, couldnt remember its name and was calling it Meat !! Well, she was close anyway
Have a great day , my Friend!

  8. I'm glad Casey is able to come over and help you. I would come over to help, if I lived closer. I hope your back pain eases up soon so you can participate in the spring chores we all love so much, and so you can tip-toe through your tulips! (Which are lovely by the way!)

I loved looking at your pictures. Casey is looking better all the time. Your yard is starting to look wonderful. I sure wish I could get bleeding heart to grow for me, I've tried but they just don't like me. I have boat loads of Hostas (100s). I'm forever digging them up and moving them and they just keep coming back from where I moved them from. My favorite picture is of the "messy back yard", it looks so peaceful there with Amos kitty's grave. Those bees look like Yellow Jackets to me - be very careful! It looks like you'll be able to have free turkey for Thanksgiving this year...

I'm off to bed. Feel better.

  9. Great pics! Will try and get back later on to really comment. Right now I'm taking a break from helping Cee mow the backyard.

  10. Hey Anne....your pictures are just fantastic. Casey is looking just wonderful with her sparkling eyes
and those dimples....what a sweetie!! :) I'm so happy to seeing her looking better all the time.
You have beautiful property and I can imagine that it's a full time job looking after it, but it's much
better than seeing it full of snow!!! Finally my tulips are up too and my Hostas are getting so big. I
haven't been separating them, so they are huge. I'm afraid I'll make them mad and then they will
die!! Maybe I'll try a few....lol Praying for your back. Why don't they take an x-ray?? Just
    wondered!! Hugs & blessings...

    ReplyDelete
  11. I just love how happy Punk looks when Casey comes out to visit!

I'm sorry that your back is still giving you hell... Has the doc thought about giving you a steroid shot for your back? Would that even help with your type of back pain? Honestly they should take some type of x-ray and give you a better diagnosis...

I agree with Irrpslady and RT... I think that airplane was doing touch and goes also... But it looks like a commercial plane, never seen those do that...

Punk and Mr. Miller look like they were up to no good as they sat quietly in the shade... hehehe

I DO hope that your back pain eases off some here soon...

    Love Ya!

    Slurkie :-)

  12. EVERYTHING you photograph is simply beautiful!

    Hey YOU got legs!

Well....darn...I would say that plane may have been looking for Marijuana fields in the area. But they usually use small DEU Helicopters for that. Could have been a Land survey plane I suppose.
Too BIG and obvious to have been a "spy." Hehehehehe!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Oh, I am so ignorant...
... What is a "touch and go" Sweetie?

Not sure how to fix a pinched nerve- but it won't be anything to show up on an xray either.
I hung on the clothesline for a bit thinking maybe it would relax the pressure on my spine.
    (I don't think it worked).

    ReplyDelete
  14. Sweetie;
Casey has also told me to go back in and demand a dx. But with that diagnosis comes the fact that I would have to do something about it then.
I have had an awful back for years... And have arthritis there too.
When it goes "excruciating" like this, it does always pass-
-(Just sometimes it takes longer than other times).

    ReplyDelete
  15. Thank you for the hugs Sweetie.
Punk stole one of her mama's squeak balls, and it's is that she is running with.

    ...sigh
I used to run like that too... Just not with green spiky squeaking balls in my mouth.
    hehehe

  16. OMG, having my back so uncooperative is worse than being "grounded"
(Though I never did ANYthing to get grounded in the 1st place).

Your story is SO-o-o-o-o-o-o-o cute! A blog in itself!
I am still smiling at the wisdom of the child!

    ReplyDelete
  17. there was an airshow in chicaca land...

    nice "shots"

hope your back feels better soon...

  18. pass the turkey and dressing please.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oh come anyway. Please?
I do love Spring things! I love the smell of the earth-
And even the dirt under my fingernails! (Besides, there are always dishes to do to get rid of that). hehehe

Are you planting your bh's in the shade? They seem to like that best around here...
But I have found them in half and full sun this year- No hearts there yet.
Like I said, they are coming up ALL OVER!

The bees/wasps are the yellow jackets! I have quite an interesting allergy to them too. (Must remember to get epi-pen refilled).

    ReplyDelete

  20. You are so sneaky!
    hehehe
Does Cee know you are on the computer while she is mowing?!?

    ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  21. You are right! That Casey kid IS sorta cute, isn't she!
    (I guess I'll keep her).

Like yourself Sweetie, I rather prefer the various colors showing up all over to the drab "grays" of winter.

I am giggling at you thinking you could actually kill a hosta. I don't believe that is possible, is it?

Oh and I try not to have xrays whenever possible... And I also prefer never to have to have any surgery on my back/spine. (That is why I have never gone for all the tests on my back to get the 'real' diagnosis).

    ReplyDelete
  22. Not sure about the steroid shot... But was told they can do a spinal shot to block the pain while it gets better too.
(FYI, neither of those options sound too appealing; as I picture this 10' long needle coming toward my back).

There's that dang "touch and go" thing again... sigh...

hehehe I was wondering what Miller and Punkie "say" to each other too.

    ReplyDelete
  23. hehehe
    I checked. And I concur.
    I do have legs!

Now for the plane. It's not a passenger plane because there are no windows.
It was kind of a creepy thing to me.

Marijuana? Why not just call me and ask? I'll tell them where they are!
    hehehe
Just kidding... We really don't have a long enough growing season and all up here, so people just grow little plants for their own pleasure/treatment.

    ReplyDelete
  24. So why would this lonely fat plane be flying around here for over an hour???

Glad you liked my 'shots'. Never mixed anything at the bar that looks so pretty.

    ReplyDelete
  25. turning around?

    Making a loop, practicing?

Nice legs too by the way... schexchsy

    xoxoxoxo

  26. I wish.

I would be there in a heartbeat if I could.

    xoxoxoxo

    Peas.
    go with turkey too.

  27. Fabulous photos Anne (and Casey!). My favourite is Punkie grinning away with his new yellow false teeth (well, that's what I thought they were at first! I had to look twice. I thought he had an orange in his mouth! lol).

Pretty flowers. So THAT's what a hosta looks like. I think I've got a bunch of those in my garden. I know I HAVE got some of those lovely 'bleeding hearts' (didn't know what they were called though). I like those.

We get a few wild turkeys round here. I didn't realise how BIG they are! That's a fabulous shot of his tail end! Big show off (the turkey, not you! lol!)

You take it easy, rest your back and don't do anything stupid!

Hugs to you and yours xxxxx

    ReplyDelete
  28. "Touch and goes" are a way of practicing take-offs and landings without actually doing either - it's all in the approach.

    ReplyDelete
  29. The one bleeding heart I planted was in the shade most of the day and partial sun in the late afternoon. It came back for 2 or 3 years, each year more spindly than the last. Maybe it wasn't good stock?

The thing about Yellow Jackets is you usually get stung by not one but the whole colony. Once a YJ stings you it releases a hormone (pharamone?) that the other YJs can smell that tells the other YJs to come and sting you too. It's fairly rare to be stung by just one YJ. They are also very aggressive and will chase you.

    ReplyDelete

  30. Seems like quite a stupid waste of fuel...

    ReplyDelete
  31. That's definitely not a passenger plane. It looks like a C-17 Globemaster III (cargo aircraft). And don't think that would be unusual, the Air Force practices in some pretty odd places sometimes. We get fly overs quite often from Moody Air Force base in Columbus, GA (several hours from here.) They come here to practice mountain flying, apparently the terrain here is pretty similar to Afghanistan's terrain.

    ReplyDelete

  32. And vice-versa my dear...

Peas beat the heck out of corn in my book.
Corn goes too fast, if ya know what I mean.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ruh-roh... Punks ball is green- I must've done something wrong when I took that picture!
Just what color is my Punk then???

Hostas? Mine are only one ind of hosta. There are a zillion varieties...
And yes, the bleeding hearts are very very pretty! (Hardy too, if you have them up there)!

I do believe that Mr Tom Turkey was showing off for his lady love... When my back is feeling better I shall go in search of their nests. (There are many wild turkeys back there).
... Yeah, as I recall Casey being attacked by a turkey when she was little(r).
    hehehe

    ReplyDelete
  34. Thank you for this... I am wondering if he ever did land?
(Still think it's a massive waste of fuel)...

    ReplyDelete
  35. Look down lower in the comments for more info about the plane.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Maybe the roots of your bleeding heart were entangled with another plant that did not mix well with it.
(Kinda like planting tomatoes where peppers were the year before; makes them basically non~productive).

The yellow jackets do not get a chance to get me twice- (Unless I get into a nest of them and 2 sting at once). I am running as soon as I feel that first "burn".
About a minute after that I am swollen and sore... Then all hell breaks loose.
    hehehe

And yes, they do chase you!
    (Dirty bastards).

    ReplyDelete
  37. Thank you SO much!
That does make sense... The Air Force has a place out in Ashwaubenon. (Just a few miles from the airport).

I still think it's a very ominous looking plane; looking all heavy and scary.
Wonder why it gives me such creeps???

    ReplyDelete
  38. Go here for some cool pictures. Near the bottom of all the pictures are ones that look very similar to your photos.

  39. Plane could of been practicing landing procedures without landing

Looks like things are well there except your back and those wasps/bees.

    ReplyDelete
  40. At first I didn't recall the tail section being that high. But on 2nd respect I see that it is exactly like what you have sent me.
    Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Everything is fine, you are right- And many people have it worse than me, so I try to concentrate on knowing that... (Doesn't always work, but I keep trying anyway).

Casey and I went "in search of" the wasps once again yesterday... We didn't see a single one?
    Not sure where they are.
As for me, I want to know where they are!
(Please come find them for me)?

    ReplyDelete

  42. Must fly for now...

Be back in a bit... (I hope).

    ReplyDelete
  43. IMHO RT it looks more like a C 5 Galaxy. Still a transport and still quite large. http://crw.natca.org/lockheed_c5a_galaxy.htm.
The biggest difference is the tip ups on the end of the wings. Neither the Galaxy nor the Skylifter has them. If there was an airshow in hte area, that would explain some of the airtime. I love airshow. sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  44. First off, Casey looks great...I love her dimples. Such a sweet girl :)

You both got some great photos, and spring flowers are so much more colorful than snow after snow after snow...hehe :)

I am sooo very sorry to hear about your back. I wish I could help you out with the gardening and such.
Thank goodness Casey is able to be there for you.

Take it easy and good luck with the meds. My back goes out occasionally (not as bad as yours Im sure) and all I can do to help it is take lots of Motrin and use hot pads and cold packs.

    xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  45. I was guessing based on Air Force plane pictures. The C17 does have the tip ups (as you called them) on the end of the wings just like the plane in Annie's pictures, I don't see these on the Galaxy from the link you posted. At any rate it definitely looks like an Air Force cargo plane of some type.

  46. Yes, she knew I was on the computer. I had already taken my turn and she was taking hers. I was really tired after work and she knew it. She's such a great kid!

All the pics are great and Casey looks soooooo good too!

Sorry to hear about your back and hope it clears up soon. Can't get no flowers or garden planted when you can't bend over....lol....

  47. Hiya Rock,

some wonderful shots, and some great captures!
    Your flowers are beautiful!

Glad to hear some of the pain is easing up a little.. why didnt the doctor do some tests on you? Xray? MRI? something that would tell him whats going on.. I have a great respect for the medical professions but some of these folks really shouldnt take shortcuts they aint that good..hehe

Glad to hear Casey is there to lend a hand and shes feeling and doing well!

Sorry Im so late.. I was at work until after 9pm last night..

    Many hugs

  48. Oh sweetie I am sending gentle hugs and a soothing massage......

You are such an amazing photographer!!!!!

Thanks for your caring concern on my page about mother's day....It was hard but I tried just to reflect on all the mother's days we did get to spend together and of course I still wished her Happy Mother's Day because I know even though she is physically gone she is forever in my heart and mind.....

    Much Love and many hugs......
    XOXOXOXO
