Things Are Not Always What They Seem

Sputty, protesting the windows being open all night.
I did not tuck the poor thing in either,
I don't have to, he does this all by himself.

Good Evening;
Like a wee baby, I seem to have my days and nights all mixed up.
I awoke at 10~ish last night, and stayed up. I did nap for 2 hours this afternoon, so perhaps I can get this day/night thing back to 'normal'. hehehe (I hate using that word because I never know what 'n0rm
al' is supposed to be to begin with).

I left all my windows open last night in the hopes that maybe I could keep it cooler inside today. I closed them about 6 this morning as the temperatures began to rise. I believe our high here was 84 or 85. Talk about a shock! Tomorrow is to be decent though- and again they have promised a bit of rain.

Hard to believe we need it, especially when the disk is 4" deep in mud in some parts of the field. This postpones planting these 20 acres 'til when?

Casey came out today, and after a bit of walking around in search of new blooms, she went straight to work.

First the blooms...

Say what you will, I say it's a darn fine thing that she has had her little surgeries and is once again capable of doing her fair share.
All kidding aside, this was an irresistible photo op.

.
The crab apple tree is in bloom also. And after the trimming it had a year and a half ago, methinks it looks like some pink and purple two~headed troll.

My own old crab tree seemingly pales in comparison to what Miss Micki has written on Baby Mariahs Caring Bridge Site
CLICK FOR HER SITE
"The crab apple trees next to Mariah’s grave in the cemetery have bloomed and they are just gorgeous! I tried to take a picture but pictures really don’t capture the beauty of it at all. The flowers are pink and there’s just enough shade to have a picnic underneath. We purchased the tree next to Mariah’s grave so that we can hang anything on it we wish to. There will eventually be a plaque underneath it that will represent the Klein Family."

*Micki, if you stop by to read this, please know that I read your blogs. I have updated my info on Caring Bridge a while back and it worked for a time... Now I keep trying to comment and it won't work. As always, I do send my heart & love to your whole family.
.
.
I also took this picture from my bedroom window- Peeking through the yews are the tulips that I had waited ever so long for. They are now almost wilted and done for yet another year.

Wednesday today, and I brought the garbage dumpster out just before sunrise.

Do you see the quarter moon peeking through the blossoms?
Centered. Almost. About an inch or so down.

I went out to the pumphouse and dragged Punks little pool out. I tried to fill it, but the water leaked out.
(Will have to fix it with my Gorilla Tape when I find the leak).

She had enough water in there to get her paws wet to about 2", and thought it grand enough!

I love her little smiles!
(And I shall fix that looming rain gutter as soon as my back permits).

And yes, Punk found herself tied up for a while...
When we had been in the house there was a new cat out on the front lawn. She damn near had jumped through the window to get to it.
She remained tied until Casey and I determined that the cat was gone.

For those of you keeping up, or wanting to, this was on the news.

Woman Found Dead in Oconto County Fire Was Murdered
Updated: May 20, 2009 04:49 PM
Authorities in Oconto County say a woman found dead in a house fire near Pulaski last week was murdered before the fire was set.

Trust me when I say this, no one wanted to be wrong about my intuitions more than myself. By now you all know that I have a tendency to call a spade a spade...
I also shoot from the hip- (both literally and figuratively).

I know that I have offended at least one of you by stating how I felt about this all before the coroner had released this today. My apologies for that.

As of the 6 o'clock news
no one is in custody. Oconto County is notoriously slow or absent with their arrest records, (or at least that was my own experience when my daughter was raped and almost bled to death). Idiots.

Time will tell how they handle her murder, and the arson that followed.

When we have children, we want and choose to raise them in a way that we feel to be safe, secure, and away from the dark-spirited people of the world. Moving from the townhouses in Ashwaubenon to being way out in the country in Pulaski seemed a wonderful relocation for us all, and most especially for my girls.

Things are not always what they seem.

My love to all.

XOXO
Anne

  1. Casey looked right at home up there on that tractor.

Orbs following Punk??? Makes you wonder....could one of them have been Mama Milly? Nice thought anyway.

Anne, I had a feeling that the fire was a cover up for Christy's death. And to think, that whoever did it was so cold hearted that they never even thought twice about the lives of those children. I hope the S.O.B. is caught and dealt with harshly. Have they said yet exactly what caused her death or will they be saving that for the trial of the person who did it?

  2. Nice pix Miss. Have a great day/night/day or whatever schedule you're on.

  3. Sweet PeachieBaby!
Casey is just so cute up there!
    The Milly Factor? I believe.

I knew you felt that way from the get go. (Something about our gut feelings Peachie).
They have not said anything about 'how' just that she was murdered.
And toxicology screenings won't be back for another week.

    How sickening is this all???

I feel bad about Sams cousin (bought my house right next door), having to still live there. They have kid(s) too.

Just sick... Too bad it is not surprising.

  5. Your blog today is both beautiful and sad. I love seeing Casey on that tractor....You go girl..... :)
My goodness she sure is a tough one and a fighter....must take after her mom. :) I love your pics.
Punk has a really neat smile!! I can't believe you had such hot weather!! I will probably never see
80 degrees all summer, here where the ocean winds blow by, but it was nice to see the sun today. Thank God, I am so grateful for that.

I feel so bad about your daughter that died and left little children and the one that has lost her kids
and can't find the road back...you are so right, we try our best and do all we can...then we need to let go. Whatever happens is not our fault if we have been good parents, some kids just never make the right choices. That is so sad and so many families are torn up over these things. I pray for all families every day. Well now that I'm crying, I guess I'll go on to the next blog! :)

Have a good sleep tonight and happy dreams. Big fluffy hugs!! :) Thanks for sharing yourself!!
    Love ya!! xo

  6. Sweet Bev;
Casey is gonna kill me for posting that picture! hehehe Nah. Not really.
And ugh it sure was hot- (I napped through the worst of it, lucky me).

You must have been going back through my blogs to see where my stepdaughter Reianna had passed away. Unbelievable still to this day.
I have not heard from my daughter Roberta since last year. It's a "Let go, and Let God" thing that I do for her.
    That and many prayers.
(I think I was a good parent)? But you would have to speak to all of my children to know for sure.

Now as far as this murder/arson goes, it doesn't matter what kind of people my ex~neighbors were. Just that nobody should ever die like that.
And so young, also leaving behind such young children. I believe the kids are all still staying with aunt and uncle.

Fluffy hugs? I think I like that! Thank you! ;-)

Love all the pictures! Sputty is one smart cat!

that is certainly one of those where you really hope to be wrong and do NOT want to be right.... sad. those poor kids.

  11. Hate when my time schedule gets messed up, close to impossible to keep caught up with "normal" life.

Looks like you are gettin out in about a bit, feelin any betta?
As always, beautiful around your place. We had a new cat go through our house. For Mimi's saftey (and because of city laws) we have an invisible fence. The cat stood right where Mimi could not go. When the cat finally disappeared, Mimi started lapping the housein full speed as if the cat was gonna be stupid enough to come back through immediately.

Not only was she murdered, but attempted murder on the children. WOW, don't wanna know what I think should be done to the person who did it.

    ReplyDelete
  12. My cats like to burrow under things to sleep too.

Punk doesn't look too thrilled about playing ball at 3AM. But she sure looks happy in her little pool.

Your crab apple tree looks like some kind of weird ice cream cone. Raspberry flavor maybe?

Casey certainly looks at home driving the tractor. The apple didn't fall far from the tree.

The picture with the blossoms, house and crescent moon is so pretty. I've been looking at your photos for a couple of years now, and I keep noticing how your skills as a photographer become more amazing all the time.

Go back a couple of blogs and check my theory on why the fire was set. I nailed it.

    Funny Pea;
So the meteorologists are all in cahoots, a weather conspiracy?
That said, then it won't rain on Memorial Day.

I did not want to be right about that. But even when the story came (along), there was this sinking, and sickening, feeling in my heart and my insides.

    HAHAHA. You said "normal"...

I am getting out and about, a little further every day- And even better when Casey is here! Makes me feel a bit more safe, just in case.

Your city makes you have an invisible fence? Lordy, that law would just make me move to a smaller diametered property.
A new cat got IN your house? That would be a bit freaky! I don't blame Mimi one little bit for "protecting" you and the kids!
    hehehe

I am upset that they still do not have any arrests in this case. Wish they could at least tell us if they are looking at Randy S, or a new boyfriend, or what...
Again, it is still nasty NOT knowing more.
(Who was it that said, "A little learning is a dangerous thing")?

We will compare our thoughts of 'punishment' when this thing gets settled then...

  18. Here are your own words Sweet RT, verbatim:
"About the fire. I'm sure something the Fire Marshall and Coroner are looking into is the possibility that she was murdered and the fire was deliberately set to cover it up. I feel sorry for the kids, but maybe, just maybe, they'll end up with a better life than they had before."

You sure did nail it. Damn shame right...

Check the exhaust on the John Deere- It really wasn't running. (And if it was, I am sure that Casey would have to add heart surgery to her list of medical experiences). hehehe
    Yup. She's gonna kill me.
Not my tractor either- Heck I have a problem even keeping up my own little Cub Cadet right about now.

You are so sweet to compare picture then til now...
AND you have given me an idea too!
    uh- oh, right?

  19. So, I had just woke up when I wrote that. The city will not permit a visible fence on this property. And the cat was in the yard, not house, Duh Oka. LMAO I actually like the invisible fence, Mimi is a darter and no matter how how hard I tried to train her, that did not change. Mimi does very well on the invisble fence. She totally respects her boundraies. She tested the once and I have never seen her test them again. We did have this one professionally installed, with professional trainin for me :D This fence came recommended by the ASPCA. With some talking to them, I came to the conclusion, Mimi would be safeer with IF than darting and wondering in the streets. People may doubt these, but let me tell, Mimi is a much much happier dog since we had it installed last year.

  20. Glad to see Casey is up and doing her share - lol. When I was little thoe tractors seemed so much bigger.

    ReplyDelete
  21. You can't put up a fence??? Where do you plant your Morning Glorys?
I think those wretched laws are called restrictive covenants. My sister built a home down in Appleton where they couldn't even have a clothesline! (Bet that one will get repealed as soon as the "Green" laws start kicking in).
If I couldn't have my clothesline...
    Ugh.

I don't doubt you one little bit about the I.F.
Actually I always wanted an invisible fence here... Just to keep the dogs away from that road- (People are always speeding through here- 70mph is about the norm)
But the cost is quite prohibitive for the amount of land I would have to cover. So I am just praying and hoping that the training and the diligence will be enough.

  22. Sweet Cab;
When I was little, I couldn't wait to be able to drive one all by myself.
Kinda what kids go through when they want to "help" do dishes.
    And it wears off. hehehe
But I have no memory of a tractor before I was being taught to drive one either, except for hanging on real tight when I could ride with Dad if he was green chopping or whatever.
Soon as Pa retired though I missed those tractors. He'd kept two though for the fields- And yes, I was always happy to get on one and drive.

He kept the WD Allis Chalmers and the Leyland he had imported from England.
AND, he had front end loaders for them both- No snow removal problems for him then!

  24. Mommy!!

LOL! Love the pics! I didn't know Sputnik burrowed into the pillows!!! That's hilarious! Well, not too funny seeing as how he has chosen YOUR pillows to rub his dander all over so you end up sneezing.... Darn cat... He can be cute though!

I closed all those windows when I left... At least I THOUGHT I got them all... Maybe I missed one or two... So sorry that it got cold! Or did you re open them after I left? I am cornfused... Yes, I meant to type it that way! Hee hee hee...

The orbs must've been Grandma, Grandpa, Amos, Mona and Miss Milly all playing around with your camera!! Such a wonderful sight to see all those spirits captured!!

You're right, the crab apple tree DOES look like a troll!!! ROTFLMAO!!! Very cool...

I'm glad that Micki got that tree next to Mariah's grave... I'm sure they'll have fun decorating that!

Although those tulips are done for this year, they look like they are glowing in that picture! And the moon in the following one is PERFECT! How on earth do you get such wonderful shots??? I'm glad everyone liked the one of me on the tractor. I remember driving the one that Joe Wouters had to drag the baseball diamond... That was fun! That was a much smaller tractor though, and if this one was running I wouldn't have known what to do with it!!! Maybe it's like riding a bike and I would've... Who knows...

Anywho, those antibiotics for this urinary tract infection are just awful on my pewnie little colon... Poor thing... Hopefully I can keep everything under control... I have cranberry tablets which are much better than cranberry juice for diabetics... Something about sugars and sending them over the roof... Speaking of sugars, though, my rice krispies treats craving is still going strong... Glad I got that super size bag of rice krispies!!! :D Thanks Mom!!! :D

    Love you Much Much!

But someone, (who shall remain nameless) left the turkey loaf out. I tossed it when I woke.
Thank you for bringing the dumpster up, and for closing the big shed door too.

Punk and I just got back from a walk-
We both got the %!#t scared out of us by a live turkey- Damn things anyway!

Saw Miss Micki at the Post Office today!

You asked, "How on earth do you get such wonderful shots?"
    hehehe
I take about 20 pictures, and maybe get 5 or so that I want to keep.
(The rest just slow down my computer)! ;-)

Go down to Wouters- any Monday Tuesday or Thursday- early afternoon but after the lunch rush...
Gary will be happy to let you drag the diamond for him.

Seriously! YOU try and think of a mode of transportation that doesn't sound degrading or just lame....

    SEE??? It's hard....

    OH! I got it!!!

nOrMaL?? What's that? When you find out can you let me know, PLEASE?

I really like the pic of Punk in her pool (say that 3 times fast LOL)... It looks like she is thinking, "Hey Mom!? Can you put more water in here??"

Sputty is cute all tucked in under the pillows... I had a cat that used to love to sleep on plastic shopping bags...

Casey looks like she is doing well... Is she gaining weight?

You wanna know who the orb is by your house? That is a friend of all the other orbs that were playing with Punk... They brought that one by to visit! :-)

As I was reading your blog, Randall was looking at your pictures and wanted me to ask you, "When can we come visit???"

I had kept it to myself but I had had a bad feeling about the woman who died from the start... What mother, even drunk or drugged out, is not gonna hear their child scream?? I had feared cover-up too... To kill her is horrible, to almost kill the kids is unspeakable!

I hope that by now your back is feeling much, much better!

Well.. once again.. Miss Smartypants.. your intuition was right on the money. Sad news that! Now the questions of who, why, when and how. And I must also ask.. did they set the house afire? with the children inside? How very horrible!
