So... Bookcase- check, behind me... Large noise, -check- and big claws scratching noise! ~~The damned cat got stuck behind the bookcase, and I had NO idea how to get him out... ~So first to get the things off the top. ~Then to crawl up on a chair to see him... (Imagine my surprise to find "NOTHING" there). As the dog is growling and the cat comes running from the entrance on the other side of the house... ~YARGGGGG (and wth?)... ~Yes, the gun is loaded...
ReplyDeleteI have goosebumps...
This is very very scary now...
XOXO
Me
Hmmmm....where exactly was the cat? Is he like a ventriloquist and is able to "throw" his scratching sounds around the room at will?!? Don't shoot the cat....run Punk...run! At least stay BESIDE your human mommy and not in front of her!
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteShe is right at my feet-
Yes. Scary is right-
And I am not one to get so damned spooked.
Not a single noise since though...
you have a rat???
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteNo way- I think it must have been inside the wall- or even outside? I swear it was claws on the bookcase...
It was a bigger noise than a rat could have made too.
Maybe someone is playing games- Damned mad that Randy left to go to his dads this afternoon...
ReplyDeleteStill with the goosebumps.
And my heart is going to jump from my throat...
ReplyDeleteTook half a Xanax- This is no time for an anxiety attack...
AAAIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
ReplyDeleteRacoon in the wall?
ReplyDeleteIf there is a raccoon in these walls then it's pretty f00kin skinny
ReplyDeleteGoing to try to get some rest- Punk headed to twindow a while back and just looked out-
No more noises so now she is asleep at the end of the couch...
Me no likey.
But quite tired now too
If Punk isn't alerting, it is gone whatever it was....
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteCille called to check on me-
(And to thank you Sweet Cille- i do feel a bit better).
XOXO
me
sleep well.... Punk and Sputty have your back.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteOr she is just lazy?
Never mind- Her eyes are open and looking at me.
I shall sleep on the couch with her tonight.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what happened to the cat...
I'm glad I could help. That's what friends are for.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Snotball (LOLOLOL)
perhaps it was Sputty and she just moved faster than you did....
ReplyDeletego sleep even if it is with the dog..
I think I would be sleeping with Punk also... And be hiding under the covers as well....
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteI have been awake now for about an hour...
All is/was well after that-
I checked outside already- No marks in the dirt on the house.
No weird footprints out there either.
XOXO
Me
PS
The cat would have had to run right by me to be able to come in the way he had.

Another blog catch up day today. (Hopefully)...
The ghost of Amos?
ReplyDeleteThis entry reminds me of a racoon in between the wall at my parents. Actually two stories. Maybe I'll get to share at a later date.
ReplyDeleteMy house in California was making noises at night after all the lights were off and it was really scaring my best girlfriend who lived with us, she swore the house was haunted, a few times during the day I had noticed a few possums out enjoying my apple trees so I had my husband crawl into our attack to investigate and sure enough there was a whole possum family up there , apparently a momma saw fit to deliver her babies there, living in a city we had to call animal control to come get them. no possums were harmed in the telling of this memory, its illegal in Calif to harm possums, they were just taken elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteIt may seem odd, but most likely it was the cat (who snuck out while you were trying to clear things) or another animal of some sorts. I have a feeling if their was another animal sent, Punk would of stuck around the bookcase a lil longer.
ReplyDeleteAnne...this reminds me of a time I was sitting in the bathroom. Well...yes..on the toilet. While I was there I heard this odd sound in the wall right next to me. (it is an outside wall) (I, of course, am on the inside!) (lol!) It was the same repeated thump, thump, roll, roll, roll, roll, and then the thump would start again and then back to the rolling sound. Over and over. There was either a squirrel in the wall or a rat who had changed his eating habits to include pecans. Whatever it was, it was attempting to move a pecan to a higher spot, possible to its nesting spot, and because of the confined space it kept dropping the pecan and had to keep retrieving it. I tapped on the wall and the motion would stop. But after a while it continued and just ignored me. Apparently the chore it was trying to accomplish was more important than me tapping morse code on the wall.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just hate those CREEPY noises that you have NO idea what exactly they are?!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to say that perhaps it was something in the walls, or Sputty moved before you saw him.
Believe me... My cat will be right next to me, then next thing I know, he's across the room and I
didn't even see OR feel him leave my side! They are SNEAKY critters! Apparently, it's nothing to
be TOO worried about, or Punk would be causing a ruckus.. ya think? Hope it stays away!
Stay safe and DON'T harm any fur-kids in the process of being scared!
Much love and BIG hugs~ Susan XOXOXO
