What They Heard!

Good Morning All;
Here is a short quote from yesterday- please tell me what you think of it...
___________

"...I wish I could have a dog right now more than anything in this world.Throughout my entire life I always had some breed of dog. It wasn't always a Pit Bull. It may have been a German Shepherd. It may have been a Dalmatian. But whatever it was I took care of them..."
-Michael Vick
___________

Yes, you read that correctly.  Michael Vick wants another dog.

Michael Vick was speaking to some high school kids in New Jersey when he said it.
What school board in their right mind actually approves such a visitor for their young audience?

Oh wait, could it be that ... ???  Nah
Please call someone like Mike Huckabee.
Perhaps they will change the previous judges ruling saying that Vick may never own another dog.

Methinks at the very least the entire school board in that district should be replaced.

XOXO
Me

The following are a few 'quotes' from Aug 24, 2007

... Vick pleaded not guilty to the charges, he also said he looked forward to  "clearing my good name."

"... killed a number of dogs that did not perform well in testing sessions around this time," the summary says. "Vick did not kill any dogs at this time."

...dogs that did not perform well in "testing" sessions at 1915 Moonlight Road and all of those dogs were killed by various methods, including hanging and drowning,"

  2. sad that he can not have the compassion for all dogs in the same manner, IMO he didn't choose to see Pit Bulls in the same manner as other dogs. He doesn't deserve the rights to take on the responsibility of any pet, since he clearly can not understand that all captive animals deserve humane treatment.

  3. he never should have been allowed to speak to young students at a school, wtf was going through that school boards minds?

  4. And exactly what does Mike Huckabee got to do with this????

  5. -* (That's my negative star!)

IMHO - dogs are people too! Apparently Michael Vick and I do NOT think alike.

What in the he// is wrong with that school board? Did they bring him in as some kind of role model? A dog murderer?!!!

I can only hope the kids got the right message - "This is NOT what you want to grow up to be like!"

  6. Can't believe that school board let/wanted Vick to speak to a group of students... Of ALL the people in the world he is one that SHOULD NOT be speaking to kids...

  7. My question is, why did they have Michael Vick speak????

I ask, because many people speak for community service. Some choose to use their negative experiences to influence others not to follow in their foot steps.

For example there are drunk drivers who have killed someone who make it their life mission to educate people on the negatives of drunk driving. Kind of like when they take borderline criminal children/teens to the prisons to have inmates scare the crap out of them.

  8. I know the speeches and such were part of the Humane Society.
I wasn't aware he received $ for doing them.
To me, that is only compounding his mistakes.

  9. I'm not all too sure if it would have made a difference to him if they were Pits or Poodles. As long as he could make money AND have some grotesque need for violence and blood met.
    He is just sick.
The word "humane" clearly is not in his vocabulary.

  10. Makes me mad too!

he had some kind of 'restitution agreement with HSA to do public speaking.
I surely didn't know this meant speaking to assemblies at the high school!

And I would LOVE to hear from the school board.

  12. Vick and I do not think alike either. He is a monster isn't he?

I don't think the kids will get that message.
Sadly the message most will get is that if you 'f' up, you can lie your way out of it and come out smelling like a rose. And then you apparently get reimbursed for telling everyone about it.

Again, I am smelling something more than fishy... I mean he cannot write a book about it telling everyone what happened, but he can go out and talk about it to kids, AND get paid?
What the hell is the difference???

  14. Maybe it is a form of community service...
But the child aspect of this just turns my stomach. (As he does too).
95% of these kids only see a well paid NFL sorts figure who is making zillions of dollars.

  15. I understand your side. And I'm not sticking up for him, but I have sat through some of these required talks, and if done right they hit home. Only thing is, I have no clue why he was giving the speech or what it was all about either. It could very well be the stupidity of the school board, or there could of been a point to drive home.

  16. I think they should stop paying attention to that man until he just goes away.

  17. What WERE they thinking! Talking to kids??

What little quality and decency this man should have had, left when he did what he did. I do believe all people should be given the chance in time to clear the slate of their bad deeds. Earning back the respect of others does not happen over night.Although He should continue to try. Respect for him will come when sufficient time has passed. Sufficient time has NOT passed.
