[My] Life in Wisconsin

Whoops!

Good Morning All;
I hope your weekend was "wunnaful" !
Great football games yesterday too.  With Minnesota's loss, I do not know who to root for come Super Bowl Sunday? (I just SO wanted to root against the Vikings in the Super Bowl). hehehe
How much ya wanna bet that poor Brett will retire... again?

Life goes on...

Freezing drizzle today, more snow, and the like...
Tomorrow to be colder. And that darn Canada is already gearing up for us to be in Minnesota. It will be below zero by the time we get there.
Of course it will. Why am I not surprised? hehehe

These are not the birthday party pictures you are waiting for.
But they do tell their own story.

   Casey....*´`*♥....Greg

And what, you ask, would cause such looks?

  • Very special thanks to Greg for getting my security system all hooked up and running all over again!
    • Ya gotta love a geek like this!
      • YAY!

Love to all

  1. The geeky kid who can do and fix everything is always appreciated! I have one of those, were lucky! My Daddys team was the Saints, so I'm going for them.

  3. Too bad the weather is going to be nasty while you are here

  4. Good thing those burner covers are cheap cause I dont think your nincompoop was the only one to ever do such a thing.

    Didnt even pay attention to football this weekend.. I do know lots of fans of the Saints that are just thrilled!

    The weather lady last night said we should be in for some winter precipitation this week.. Ooooo might see snow again..that could be fun.
    Big hugs

  5. LMAO, sawy, but I am laughing with you. Only because this has happened in my home more than a few times.

    I think my mom said Dad was happy because the Colts made it???? IDK, it was late and I was tired.

    Hate the upcoming weather, I was really hoping for some beautiful sun, it's been so gloomy.

    Have a safe trip.

  6. Sweet Pamela;
    Isn't that the truth?
    Without him I would have had to spend zillions of dollars to ensure this old house was secure.
    Much better this way!

    Still unsure...
    hehehe

    I am not, and never will be a Minnesota faithful fan. That's what Green Bay is for.

    So to me, it was all about Favre. He always said he wanted to go out on top.
    Course he says lotsa things...

    My Super Bowl 'fix' just came a few weeks early is all.
    How very b*tchy of me) hehehe

  8. Sweet Connie;
    You are right, they were only $10.00 at Sears.
    I think it was a subconscious thing. I've been meaning to replace those for quite some time. But then when I would think of it, I would always tell myself that I really didn't "need" to.
    You don't fix what ain't broke- Or so the saying goes.

    I got screwed outta rooting against Favre. WAH! hehehe
    Had my fill a few times yesterday, but knew I had to settle then for the OT.

    Going to get nasty here too pretty quick. I imagine I shoudl close the 2 windows that are open.
    (No my heat is not on).

  9. Stop laughing Sweet Oka;
    It hurts me to even giggle this morning... Grrrr..... Dang back.
    My rice water wasn't heating up none too fast, and the second I went to check it, I smelled this narfy smell, and couldn't figure out what the heck was so stinky. (Knew it wasn't me). hehehe
    And then, of a sudden, it turned from normal to black, just like that.
    Your first impulse is to grab it...
    Glad I didn't.

    Gloomy will be ok today- My head is really nasty. (Damn football tourettes).

    XOXO

  10. Bring warm clothes Annie !!... Sorry you didn't get ur wish on the football ... I have more sets of those burner covers but somehow the same thing seems to happen to mine also , weird hey?? LOL
    I am not the one who usually burns them up but I always have a spare set on hand because I like em

  11. (Just between us girls - there's something about a man who can turn a wrench, read a om meter, change the oil in my car, or unclog a drain, that REALLY turns me on! I don't care how much a guy makes - if he can't fix stuff he's pretty much worthless in my opinion.)

    I hope the weather improves for your trip. I thought you were leaving today. Isn't Casey's surgery tomorrow on the 26th? Or have I got my dates mixed up?

  13. Hmmm....who IS playing in the super bowl this year? I haven't been paying much attention. I watch the Cowboys whenever nothing else was on to watch. But since they didn't make it that far into the playoffs (I think they did win their conference thing) I lost track with who was doing what. Oh well....I will watch the super bowl anyway. I never know who is playing most of the time anyway because I only watch for the commercials. Hehehehehe!

    Funny what you said about Brett. I swear...I think he is part female with his constantly changing mind. Don't you? LOL!

    LOL! I am always turning on the wrong burner too. More than a few times I have expected something to be "cooking" only to turn around and notice I was only scorching the air. Even worse...while cooking on all 4 burners and turn the wrong one down on simmer while the wrong one was left boiling for too long. Had to start over many many times. Talk about embarrassing!

  14. This is why I gave up on using the covers on my stove. I burnt up more than my share at home. Then I finally learned to take them all off if I was going to cook anything.
    Have a safe trip. May the weather hold off till you get where you need to be safely.
    We will have you all in our thoughts and prayers.

  15. I think everyone has burned a burner cover at one time or another... Just one of those things that happens I guess...

    I will only watch the Super Bowl for the commercials this year, none of my teams made it so it makes no difference to me... lol

    Gotta love Greg and all his geekiness!

    Have a safe trip!

    Slurkie :-)

  17. Anne, keep an eye out while you're there in Minnie'soda, for an old gent who is wandering around saying he's a football player yet clearly appears older than the hills. He can't remember if it's day or night or if he lives in Green Bay, New York, Mississippi or Minnesota. He limps a lot and keeps changing his mind, one minute he says he's looking for work the next minute asking to be returned to the nursing home. Has plenty of money but keeps asking for his quarter back.. sad case, if you see him, don't stop..!
    love and prayers to you and edbd....

  18. I think he's in the next room...
    (And just complimented Casey on her Packers' hat).

  19. At least the burner covers are easy to replace and relatively inexpensive. The pics of Greg and Casey are cute as always.

    The games WERE rather unteresting, weren't they? I don't normally watch football but Rick had them on.

    Be careful and Creator watch ove you both.

    OXOX,
    Snotball

  20. LOL! Loved the shot of the burnt burner cover! That's the sort of stupid thing I do on a regular basis (but I keep most of it secret!).

    And this little bit of Canada is having a heatwave at the moment! +5C!!!!! YAY... and raining!!! Boooooo! Actually, that was yesterday. Today it's 0C and snowing! Sigh! I don't know which is worst!

    Hugs xxxx

  21. Sweet Carolyn;
    No happy medium with the clthes, although Casey is always wearing tank tops... Hmmm?
    "She" is the weird one. hehehe

    I am ever so happy that this happens to other people too. I was horrified when I'd realized what had happened!
    There is power in numbers. Somehow.
    Wish I could come up for a proper acronym for our special club. hehehe

  22. OMG Sweet RT;
    You are SO right about that "man". Not too much sexy if they can't either. Useless is right.
    But you HAVE TO add "Geek" to the list, if only on this blog. That said, he can fix his own car, and read the OM Meter, and has even worked on my tub. (Guess Casey nabbed a good one eh)?

    Caseys surgery is Friday. If her tests tomorrow go badly, then we will be home by Friday, weather permitting of course. I am not doing this all over again. hehehe

    That would be Indianapolis and The Saints.

    You made me giggle with your comment about Brett- Maybe it's all any early MENopause for him/her?

    Giggling even more at you scorching the air.
    Now I know why you are always feeling so hot. (And it's not hot flashes)!
    hehehe

    PS
    I would never start over. I would simply change whatever recipe I thought I was cooking into something else, and tell everybody that it was supposed to be like that.
    I've probably even done that a few times in my life.

  26. Sweet Beth;
    We are here. Frazzled, but safe. And the "safe" part is what is uber~important.

    I am squealing with delight that everyone else has burnt their covers too. Although the thought has occurred to me that they should be marketed with tip~ups so when this happens one can safely remove them immediately. hehehe

  29. Sweet Snotball!
    When we left, I giggled at that darn cover, and put it in its place atop the burner. (Then I giggled some more).

    I do love football. But I always love it more when Green Bay is playing...
    Then comes AFTER football... Those Sunday afternoons are quite boring.

    HAHA It's not secret anymore.
    And here I thought I was the only one who would do such a thing! Welcome to our club!

    Please send some of your heatwave here. it is bloody cold in this town!
    0c actually sounds perfect! The sun is shining as I type and everything would at least then be meltng a bit.

  31. Glad you made it there safe and sound .. Keeping you both in thoughts and prayers ..

    Its damn cold here also and of course a gale of wind behind the cold .. Its always windy here

    ReplyDelete
  32. Sweet Carolyn;
    Well, we are here. We are safe and all that is sound is supposed to be.
    I hate the gripping the steering wheel thing- As if it makes a difference anyway. hehehe
    And gawd, I hate that windchill factor. You have gale force- We just have about 20mph, and that's bad enough
    And I get a kick out of the fact that NOAA has different charts for us, and another for Canada.
    Does your wind blow differently from ours, or what? What's up with that anyway?
    hehehe
