[My] Life in Wisconsin

SissieKrissiePoo, KC, and "Momma~Donna" too!

hehehe
Cartoon from here.

Good Morning Everyone!
I am reading that you all have had a "wunnaful" Easter weekend! I even got a card in the mailbox! (
Snail mail, not the inbox).

This card and letter from my birthmother- She is so good at writing letters and such.
I once was also, but when my hands went kaplooey that all stopped.
Casey and Greg had stopped in to see (birthmother) Donna and (her husband), Bob while they were in Milwaukee last month...

Donna and Bob will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on the 23rd. (It does my heart good to see real marriages last this long; through the good and the bad, and everything in~between.
They can still laugh together. (That says it all about happy marriages)!

Since I don't think I ever did post the pictures that Casey took while they were there, here they are now...
Gosh I have a crappy memory lately...

Donna and Bob own a tavern down in Milwaukee-  Each year for St Patrick's Day she makes 60 pounds of corned beef. (Each year she says "never again" and then makes it anyway).
They rarely, if ever, have any leftovers either! Yummy!
My sister, DeeDee, runs the bar- Money for her, (she's the one that lost her husband in 2008 to cancer).
Donna and Bob have 3 daughters. Kathy, DeeDee, and Shari.
Donna, having been married once before, also had a daughter, Patty, who died in 1976.
My sister Kris and I were the 2 given up for adoption.

This is SissyKrissiePoo!

Casey came out also; pointing to a hornet up on the house
(Which did not show up in the pic).

Punk said she'd help too.

As long as she didn't have to lift a paw. She was dubbed the "supervisor"... hehehe

Claims she had to supervise because of a hairline fracture in her shoulder..

We had gone down to Kelli's and had stolen her trailer back again...
This worked much better than my decrepit wheelbarrow.

Besides, Punk can't ride in the wheelbarrow.
Hmmm   What about that shoulder?!?!

Then they all took a well deserved break!
Kris treated us to lunch from Krolls West   YUM!
If you are ever in Green Bay, you have to eat here just once.
I guarantee you will want to go back.
Check out the autographed celebrity tiles on the walls too while you are there!

It was in the 70's that day-
Today it is raining and gloomy- a candle kind of day. But oh, how we need the rain!

I have much running around to do today, and will try to get all my errands done before I go back to the 'toe' doctor tomorrow.
YIKES!

I had given Kris a book, (which she forgot to take with her when she left). I will mail that out today. A few other stops too,. First will be to make my vote count.

Casey has an appointment for another UTI.
I'm beginning to think she will never be rid of those... She drinks lots of water, juices, etc, so everything should be working all right.
Perhaps it has something to do with her missing spleen?
Hmmm...

I'd better close and get on with my day.

Hope all is well in your little corner of the world?
Have a happy day!

XOXO
Me

PS
Besides a mole wanting to be inside, there is a difference between a mole and a vole... CLICK

Methinks I do not like either one.

No, I am not holding this critter!

  1. lovely pics and how nice to see your birthmom and your sister Kris!
hey, I was thinking about those UTI's.....does Casey like to take bubble baths? if she does take lots of them, they could be the cause of the UTI.

  4. Sweet Annie,

You can definitely tell that you, your B-Mom and Kris are all related. What a blessing to be able to still have a relationship with her.

I never would have thought about a hornet. I saw the sign behind Casey and thought that was what the pic was. Oh, dopey me. LOL

How in the world did Miss Punk fracture her shoulder?? Bless her sweet soul.

We share the same good taste in lawn tractors. I have one just like yours.

Annie, dear Annie, you are a good soul. I'm so glad to see you be able to spend time with Kris.

  5. Robs mom was adopted out when she was a young girl. Her first question to her birth mom was "Why did you let me go and keep the others?" The woman on my friends list that goes by gsubyak is my mom-in-laws biological sister. I met her years ago when she came to Texas to visit family. She's (Glenda) the family member who does all the ancestry genealogy work. But, just like you and your sister Kris, My mom-in-law and her sister had different dads. Although it was difficult even years later for my mom-in-laws mom to say, back then it was a definite no-no to have kids by other men. I think it was her father that made her give up my mom-in-law. Men ruled with a heavier hand back then. (hmmmmm....clears throat....we still never got the whole story because they never liked to discuss the facts.)

Mole vs Vole.....I once found a mole in my kitchen....it had NO eyes! But he was still sooooo cute! I sorta felt sorry for it and picked it up and carried it outside and placed it near the vacant house next door. Rob insisted it would still find its way back. LOL! I think maybe he was right. But I just couldn't kill it.

  8. Isabelle is a prime vole hunter... wanna borrow her?

You and Kris both have mama donna's smile...

I thought Casey was pointing out the way to heaven in that picture (look behind her)....

I think Punkie HAS to supervise because she lacks opposable thumbs to pick up gravel or hold a rake... duh.

Kris, WOW, she not only comes to help out, she brings food!!!! Awesome!

I have a suggestion for Casey but will either put it in an e-mail or we can talk about it later.

  9. Sweet Suzy!
I knew that about soaking in tubs and such. (And taught all my girls how to wipe properly too).

Casey has had many UTI's- But no, she doesn't take bubble baths.
She has had 2 this year alone. They give her antibiotics, which play havoc on her leftover digestive tract- Then when the 1st round doesn't work, they give her a different antibiotic, which does even more crap to her digestive health...
Kind of a viscous circle. At least now she can ingest probiotics- as compared to when she was having her pancreatic flare ups. They sat probiotics are bad for Chronic Pancreatitis sufferers. But when I posted it on the pancreatitis group, everyone and their brother jumped down my neck.
(What they think? That I did all the medical testing)??? Fools.

  11. Sweet Carolyn!
Oh, it was a great and beautiful day! I felt so guilty about Kris doing all the work... Still feel bad about that. Mostly all I could do was watch though I did pick up a few shovelsful of dirt and stuff.

At any rate, and for any reason, it is always so good to see her smilin' face!

You have a great week too- Hope you are feeling much better by now?
