[My] Life in Wisconsin

Casey. Punk. Both a Bit Sleep Deprived.

Casey- At the hotel.
That is bruising under her eyes...

Hi all
We are home.

Greg and Casey at Home!

I was wrong in my earlier entry...
Casey WILL be needing to restart the iron infusions.
She begins those tomorrow.
I will repost more about that after that appointment.

Casey and Punk, resting
At the hotel-

Punk- On the way home- Happier than all get out!

Fresh Air

In direct contrast to Casey-

Feeling Nasty
Those darn headaches of hers- with tummy pain also.

No Road Construction? hehehe

Wish she was just trying to get past these without looking? We didn't hit too much construction-
In Wisconsin, all the highway road crews need to be finished, or at least have all roads open to Green Bay, for home Packer Games.
(And what a great game it was)!

It has been chilly weatherwise. down to the low 40's at night, and to the high 60's or so during the day.
Unless it rains the temps in the house aren't too bad yet.
We are to have a temperature spike tomorrow to bring the temps to the mid 70's! But of course along with those warmer temps come the promise of a few storms.
Oh well. Like they say, you can't win them all.

It is time to prepare for Fall and Winter.
While shopping the other day I did remember to get a new furnace filter. I have been forgetting for some time now, and I only had the non-disposable filter that came with the furnace. That one is fine to use during the Summer when I only want to run the fan to circulate the air, but not near good enough when the furnace needs to heat my living spaces. (I do have the entire upstairs unheated- and also the back bedroom downstairs that gets no heat).

Finally I buy my new filter- (I am still so proud that I remembered to do that)!

Changing the old filter out I also add a bit of my homemade air freshener.
Going to smell good in here- a bit of potpourri and vanilla too.

Now throw in an eccentric dog...
When I go to the basement, Punk refuses to go down, unless I specifically ask.
Weird dog!

ARF! "No I won't go in the basement!"
She sits at the top of the steps-
Methinks she is waiting for an invitation.
  hehehe

At any rate, I am all ready for the cold to come and set in.
Wait...
Apparently I am not.
---  I found one little snafu to the whole thing.

Uh-Oh
Oops
No use even thinking about turning the darn thing on now.
hehehe

Punk is trying to fight sleep right now.

Sleepy Punk
hehehe

Maybe I am too.

Long afternoon tomorrow.
I will close for now, and get to bed too...

Love to all.
I hope all is well in your little corner of the world. And I will get to checking your own blogs and news as soon as I can.

XOXO
Me

  1. That could be another plus to moving, less house to try and keep warm, I imagine your heating bills during the summer is equal to our summer bills with the air conditioner running 24-7....Poor Casey to spend all that time at the hospital only to drive home still in pain and not feeling well, she is such a trooper, poor baby girl, my heart breaks when I see her looking so ill, prayers as always

  4. Punk doesn't want to get yelled at for chasing a mowssis again...

If you invite her you can't yell.

Glad you are home and sorry Casey is not yet herself... she will be though.

  6. Hope all goes well with everyone Anna and Casey gets back on track soon,
that's the meanest I've ever see Punk,
I do remember a post of yours where you posted a photo of a girl in a convertible with the top down and it was around the same temp around the 60's; you asked is it cold for her :-)

  9. Casey is still beautiful.....even with a headache and other pains.

And Punk....still makes me smile as I imagine what the heck she could be thinking when she does the things she does.

The two of them together, sleeping peacefully, is a site for sore eyes for sure.

And Greg....can't forget you.....you are a cutie too! And I know Anne must be so Thankful you are there for Casey. You are a good shoulder to lean on for both of them. And Punk probably thinks so too! :)

  10. Mr. Bill;
I am never quite sure how 'calm' things are around here.

  11. Sweet Pamela;
Casey's worst pain comes in stabbing, or punching feelings- those worst times are intermittent. She seems to always have some level of pain though.
Mostly she can tolerate that quite well, but she is still on the dilaudid too; so that helps.

She is a trooper, and sure can put me and many others to shame with her own "sticktoitiveness".
Sometimes that pain would bring a big man to his knees too.

My heating really isn't that bad- Just that the heating season always seems to last too long...
But when he comes to fill the oil drum it is always sticker shock- especially that first bill of the year.
A few years ago- was that 2008 that the oil prices were so high?
(Talk about shock, I wanted to cry)! But I was warm, so didn't complain too loudly.

    PS
I really don't have any heating bills in Summer ya know.
    ;-)
    hehehe

  12. Sweet Jen;
It took quite a while to find a vein that didn't roll or collapse. After that, she seemed to tolerate yesterdays infusion very well. (Save for the awful headache that came right near the end).

Punk is something else I tell you! Not sure 'what' though... ;-)

  13. Thank you Sweet Snotball;
Your lips to Gods ears- I sure hope that they find out where the iron is going to also.
(Her feet would be rusty if it was leaking out through her soles).
A tough question; especially given the fact that she is on Depo-Provera®, and does not get her periods at this point. She is on that to circumvent any possible endometriosis, which she had an exploratory laparoscopy to find.

    XOXO

    PS
I had just written back to Bill on a private note- and had mentioned a smoked ham bone for soup.
Now I am really and truly hungry as you have mentioned ham too! hehehe
    Too funny! hehehe

  14. Sweet Pea;
Punkin would like me to remind you that she was "only" helping out her friend Sput. hehehe

I honestly think that Sputnik gets upset if she goes down there. He will watch her out of the corner of his eye.
(Maybe that's why he sneaks up & sticks her in the nose with his claw when she sleeps)?

Not to worry overmuch. (Pain or not, Casey is always Casey)! hehehe

  15. Sheesh Woman, quit making those noises! (I almost pulled over thinking I had a flat)!

  16. Mr Lester!
Punk wasn't even trying to look mean-
... She was only enjoying the biker thing with getting bugs in her teeth at 65MPH.

Funny thing about those darn temperatures-
When it is cooling down, 60's is chilly-
But in the Spring it is the most beautiful temp in the world!
Either a beginning or an end to those heating bills I wrote of to Pamela.

    XOXO

    PS
Did you just call Casey a train?!?

  17. And be careful Sweetie, they BOTH bite!

At least that's what I heard...

  18. Sweet Suzy-
I am amazed we made it there/back alive. (I was in town yesterday to get Casey for her infusion... As I rounded a corner I heard the little squeal of tires. (And I wasn't even going fast).
I pulled into the Fleet Farm station and checked the air pressure.
    ALL FOUR were LOW)!

They are full now- Time for an oil change- and a bit of weatherization for my car, and for the old Buick too. Speaking of which it is high time to sell that old Roadmaster. Will work on getting that all fired up and ready for winter too, just in case.
(It is always fun to drive a rear wheel drive car in the snow). Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

  19. Sweet PeachieBaby!
Casey and Punk are very near to inseparable- Best of friends-
I am happy, thankful too, that Punk is still young enough to hold her pee when Casey arrives.
That darn dog gets ever~SO excited! hehehe

She won't tell me what she is thinking- And I plum gave up trying to figure it out too.
Just have to go by her expressions- But gosh, there are SO many of those too.
    What can I say?
She is a 'deep' dog. A philosophical canine! hehehe

  24. Drew has those same dark circles under his eyes. I've always used that as a way to tell he wasn't feeling well..the darker the circle and paler his skin..the more ill he is.
Happy Casey's infusion went well...hope they can find where all this blood is going and plug the leak.
Punk looks like she enjoys riding with her head out the window! I currently favor the last pic above of Punk..I'm ready for a nap. We are currently at the hospital(Drew..pneumonia..drained 425ml(?) out from around his right lung.) and fixing to head home. I will fill ya in later.
Enjoy those cooler temps...we are still in an oven here in the Gulf coast. Catch ya'll later!
