[My] Life in Wisconsin

HealthCare Upheld- in its entirety!

Thank you Chief Justice John Roberts!
"A Bush appointee, joining the liberal wing of the court"...

  • Thank you from those of us who prefer NOT to kill innocent others.
  • Thank you from those of us who have accurately perceived Mitt Romney to be the a-hole that he is.
*** Most especially after reading this. CLICK

"... The former governor said, reiterating a position he's articulated in the past, that:
only Americans who have had constant, uninterrupted insurance coverage should be guaranteed access to a health plan, regardless of any pre-existing conditions.
Asked to clarify his position on Wednesday, Romney campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul confirmed that the former governor does not support the across-the-board consumer protections for pre-existing conditions as written into Democrats' health care law..."
end quoted material

As I have already stated, "What an ass!"

Do the click above and let me know if there is another way to interpret such ignorance.
IMHO there is not.
And let's always remember that this legislation, now LAW, was once written by the same GOP Party that is seeking its demise now.
Go figure.

Again my gratitude to our Supreme Court.

XOXO

  1. Never having thought that this bill had a chance of passing I admit to having paid insufficient attention to it. Now I'm left with a lot of questions.

Who is going to be providing the mandatory insurance?

If it's the existing insurance companies, is there going to be any govt oversight or regulation of the premiums they're allowed to charge?

What if a person has no job, and therefore can't afford to buy the mandatory insurance?

From what I do know about the bill, it's overall a good thing and a step up (and was modelled after Romney's own state plan when he governed Mass., although natch he's against it now).

There''ll be no more pre-existing condition exemptions from what I've heard, which is good; no caps on coverage, which is also good. As for the rest of the details I'm still a bit fuzzy. I think its passage has caught a lot of us by surprise. Who would have thought that Roberts would have come down on the side of reason? And although it doesn't seem to be a perfect bill, it does seem to be a good start; a first step.

Social Security faced a lot of the same charges from the Republicans when it came along, too. Cries of "socialism" abounded, etc. But it's undergone has many positive changes since it's inception; just as this bill will evolve for the better over time.

Now I'd just wish I knew a little more about it.

  2. This should help you...it has been available from the day it passed... http://www.healthcare.gov/law/index.html

But for those not able to afford there is the provision of subside or assistance based on income and so much more in it...also that people right now are getting millions or billions$ in refunds because the insurance companies must spend 85% on care and if not the premium refunds kick in.

    etc etc

  4. In case you wondered WHY Roberts did it - Obamacare favors his real constituency:

  5. Mr;
Mandatory insurance will be your choice-
If you have health insurance now, and like it, and can afford it, then if you wish you can keep that insurance.
Don't like it, or too expensive you can change insurances. YOUR choice.

Those that have had their insurances, and have overpaid, will be refunded the monies due to them because the insurances company's have misappropriated the moneys received.
The credit/refund will be made this August to those people.

As for the rest of it, just go ahead and click on my healthcare tag.
(It won't take long before you realize why I am so steadfast in my support of not only the healthcare, but my president as well).

  6. Thank you much for the link Mr Neal;

My daughter is an optometrist with 2 small children- Works at a major Texas hospital- The insurance offered is not affordable to her.
Her husband has insurance, but she still needs to be able to afford her own insurance. She has 14 months still to wait for that proviso to kick in.

  7. You have just defined the difference between those that are informed, and those that are not.

I do not understand ANYone who is in the 99%, and continues to vote GOP.
Must be a lot of rich uncles around...

  8. Maybe. Maybe not Will.

The healthcare law is legal- Roberts had the legal responsibility to vote and write what he did.
I applaud him for knowing the laws well enough to vote to keep it in.

I read your link yesterday- The article you cite shows much hatred and borderline paranoia.
I also read a few things by said author- Seems as though he has a bit of disinformation- or 'old' thoughts on it.
Especially when he says "The public overwhelmingly hates Obamacare" John Stauber needs to realize that his sentence would be more honest if only he eliminated the word "overwhelmingly"-
    Such is not the case.
People, slowly but surely, are learning that our health care law is good for them, and for those they love.

  10. I received this via email yesterday

    (From Barbara Boxer):

Anne — We won a huge victory with this morning’s ruling, but the fight is still on.
Rush Limbaugh has already called on Republicans to "defeat these bastards" and "wipe them out."
