[My] Life in Wisconsin

Of Flowers, Friendship, Faith and Fannies...

Good Morning to ALL!

But??? BUTT!!! Hope you all had fun voting in that last blog of mine!!!

My computer claims it to be 7 degrees in Suamico... My own thermometer claiming it to be 4 degrees lower at the moment. Why am I always colder in winter, and warmer in summer? My home sits at the bottom a hill, and I think it would have something to do with that... (Think of it as just another scientific question for those of you that might know)...

And WHAT A DAY I had yesterday too... It all began with putting a little Derma~Dream salve on Miss Punkies paw pads. We had the morning news on too... Shortly after, I thought I might have heard something... Muting the TV, I said "Whazzat?" Punk gets very still (always) when I say that, and just listens... We heard nothing else, until the HUGE growl that escaped her throat when the doorbell rang!

Uh~Oh, (I wasn't even dressed yet)! YOKES!!! hehehe

Grabbing my robe and trying to hold Miss Punk back, I went to the door...

Nobody there! ...(but I did hear someone pulling out of the yard).

Looking around, I see a package. A long narrow box at the side of the door...

For me? What IS it? (I have not ordered anything to be delivered)!

Punk still trying to protect me as I opened the storm door, and she then proceeds to growl at that box!

(As for me, I was just happy that I didn't have to let anyone in here while I was still in my jammies)!

Bringing the box into the warmth of the house...

...And opening it, I discover 50 FRESH~CUT Flowers inside!!!

.

.

.

Ain't he CUTE!?!?

...Complete with a vase, AND the very cutest little Teddy Bear! He is now christened 'Vincent'... (as in "VanGogh"), for the fact that he only has one little ear!

Poor little guy...

I recut the stems and got them fresh water too. They are ever so beautiful.

Thank you!!!

Have you all noticed that 'when the chips are down', and when your whole heart is broken by the ignorance and/or cruelty of a few, that this is exactly when you find out who your friends are? And that life is good not~withstanding anything else?

I am so very thankful to have so many true friends; and family as well, (extended and otherwise)! Many of you that have either commented or written~ Your shared words of encouragement and support mean SO VERY MUCH to me!

Those that have shared their own experiences with their own grown children with me... (And while I am terribly sorry that you had to go through all of that, it is good to know that truly I am not alone by feeling oh, so betrayed and hurt).

Each of these flowers to me represent each one of you that have helped me through this. I am not past it, nor over it... that will take Faith, time, and heart, but I do believe the shock is waning. I have always believed that regardless who you are that you have no right EVER to intentionally hurt/betray anyone else, and most especially the only real "family" you have.

Special thanks to Mombie who has written an entire blog about cruelty and mocking. CLICK HERE to read her words of wisdom. Chris, Iknow your own blog is closed and so I will not link to it, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your faith in me too.

And to Miss DeeAnne who has lightened the seriousness of the situation by making fun of everyones backsides! CLICK HERE for her sassy FANNY blog!

I thank EACH ONE of you; and most especially "ALWAYS" for the wonderful flowers, and for your concern!

I know that I cannot link to everyones pages... and I apologize for that. Know that I remain so very proud of all my Y360 friends, and all of the "good clean fun" that we have on here!

Simply put; your love, friendship and guidance was not tried and found wanting...

BUTT....

Back to my yesterday... After finally getting in the shower, I notice that the plant I have hanging in there has so overgrown its little pot, and I also know that I have many plants that need to be repotted. And so, I begin this somewhat stinky task.. I do not care for the smell of the potting soil... (If ONLY they could make it smell as sweet as the thawed, refreshed and clean Earth in Springtime)!

If only...

The plant has many growths to it, and I had those lines just draped haphazardly over the two shower curtains. I actually had to cut the pot apart to get the plant out.

.

.

.

(Neglect at its finest)!
.
.
.
.

It took me about an hour to get it just right. As I brought it back into the shower to hang it, my stupid hand sorta failed me, and I quickly wound up with

.

.

.

the most terrible looking tub...
.

...and a reason to start all over again repotting that plant! Ah well, there are many WORSE things in the world that I could have been doing at that moment in time!

Another awesome day kids!

...With the absolute 'icing on the cake' about 10 PM when Roberta and CaseyAnne had stopped in... Berta had been back to the emergency room last night with terrible pain. The tests she had done last week were inconclusive at best... and so they did many MORE tests~ ...Casey had gone with her; getting to be quite the little 'doctor' with respect to her own experiences and health for the past 2 years... And through this all, KC has come to realize that these doctors are NOT infallable, and is not afraid to speak out when they are acting like jerks.

As THIS one was last night... Roberta had told him where she had been hurting, and it was a sharp pain that radiated to her back as well. Being a smug jerk, (and speaking 'down' to the both of them), that dr. replied, "well MY back hurts too." (Why am I thinking that perhaps he should go see a real doctor for that)? Roberta now has to have a few more tests... and next time she goes, I will go with her. please note: Roberta was born 7 and a half weeks prematurely, with a horseshoe kidney and also uterine di~delpha; (both of which may/may not be a result of her father being exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam)... We would have no way of knowing this.

I'd better close and get on with my day... Much to do, and when I run out of things to do, I shall just sit and watch my flowers open!

One by one... and ever so beautiful;

.

.

.

the contrast to the grey shades of January being just what we all need!

Tail/Tale of Two Dogs...

Good Afternoon!

This "Tale/Tail of Two Dogs" comes with a 'word' of advice!

No snorting!!!
hehehe

Normally I do not post TWO blogs in one day... But I think I just HAVE to today...

It occcurs to me though, that it simply would not be fair AT ALL to be keeping this ALL to myself...

I cleared a bit more snow... but not enough energy to be cleaning the end of the driveway too well. While I was out there though I had to get the mail...

(I love getting the mail when I get Christmas cards)! TRUE! Thank you DeeAnne! (Happy to know I am not the only one sending out late cards)!

Oh and one of her friends uses NAIR on his butt! (I sure am GLAD that I do not feel the need to post a picture of MY backside online)! Too funny!!! CLICK HERE

Getting back to my afternoon now, and my trip back from the mailbox...

And walking back up the driveway... I see what...

.

.

.

...is the saddest, and the most curious looking specimen of pup that I have ever seen! I do tie her when I am working in the pines, out by the road, or getting the mail; (not taking ANY chances of getting her killed by MY own stupidity)...

.

.

.

.
.
.

When I get closer, she asks me kindly, "Where the hell have you BEEN?" (Actually it is "arf"; but we ALL know what THAT means) !

Milly awaits patiently too, wondering what I am going to do. I untie Punkin; and then mosey on over to Millys kennel...

Free At Last!

*Now you just HAVE to watch all of the 'expressions' here!!!

Punkin decides that Miss Millys bones are all much better than her own; (even though Miss Milly gets Punks' abandoned bones in the 1st place)... Milly snatches her bone back as Punk just has to obey.

(I think this falls under "Honor~Thy~Father~and~Thy~Mother)... Besides, Miss Milly will definitely take her young 'un to task if she doesn't!

.

.

.

Milly!!! ...Takes back Her bone !!!
.
.
.

Later, I had some more yard stuff to burn and was down by my little barrel. Both of these nice little doggies were by me...

.

.

.

Punk on the left; and Miss~Milly~Mama SMILING for the camera!
.
.
.

Miss Punk started investigating by the big rocks; Milly could not have cared less about that, and ran to make sure her bone was still where she had left it...

Geesh, now I KNOW what that's like... you leave your bone in one place and can NEVER find the damned thing again!

...I hate it when I lose my bone!?...

I stir my burn barrel, turn around, and Punk damn~near kills me, as she is right behind my knees. (Please note that I stir up the burn barrel a bit dangerously; with an old pitchfork)... And sadly, on my way down, I also leave quite an impression in the snow with my backside/snowslide! hehehe

I tell Punk to "keep away" (She thinks I'm kidding, and proceeds to try to tackle me; thus eradicating any hope for a shot or two of my angel~butt).

I tell her 'get lost' already... And she rambles over back to the rocks... Again I turn to see her feeling so poorly about upsetting me, that she is hiding her face in the snowbank!!!!

I think this is absolutely the most funniest sight I have ever seen in my entire life... (well, except for a certain porkchop dinner that had ended up in somebodys lap)... But that a whole 'nother blog!!! hehehe

I grab my camera, and I catch her in the middle of her very own little "Act of Contrition"...

.

.

.

Yep, she has her entire face in there...
.
.
.

(Sorry, I was "shooting from the hip" just to catch these few shots and they sure weren't centered) ...

I told her "Punkie I am sorry; please come out."

.

.

.

"Forget it Lady, NOTHING DOING!"
.
.

By this time I am laughing OUT LOUD and so hard that Miss Mama Milly HAS to come running and find out what all the noise is about...

.

.

.

Still with a smile on her face; (I have TEARS running down my own)...
.
.
.

....Meanwhile, Miss Punk HAS to come up for air...

.

.

.

Breathe in. Breathe out. Get Over It! (T.Y.)!
.
.
.

And spies her Mama coming toward us fast!!!

.

.

.

Uh~Oh, I'd better think of something really fast!!!
.
.
.

So she says, "Mama, come see! I found a gophers winter home under here!"

(Again, it was 'arf' but we ALL know what THAT means)! ...hehehe

And being the very trusting sort of Mama that she is, Miss Milly finally agrees to check it out...

.

.

.

Punk and Milly! Heads buried in the snow...
.
.
.

Now, it doesn't take an old dog like Milly too very long to figure out that she has been duped by her own child... (What IS this dog~world coming to)?

She realizes there is nothing under the rock except more rock! Her very own child just wanted her Mama to get her face cold and wet!!!!

Quickly then, she pulls her head out and proceeds to holler at the Punkster all over again... (Boy oh boy oh boy. was SHE ever mad)!

.

.

.

"DAMMIT KID, LOOK AT ME WHEN I AM TALKING TO YOU!"
.
.
.
.
(and so the naughty Punkie did as she was told)...
.
.
Punkie gets one heck of a tongue~lashing from her Mama!
.
.
.

I tell ya...

*sigh*

as they sadly say... "KIDS TODAY"...

...(They got no respect for their Mamas)!!!!

hehehe

XOXO
Anne

Now how did YOU spend YOUR afternoon???

Science Question!

Good Morning All!

I cannot believe I just deleted my entry. I have been sitting here, typing furiously for about an hour... and POOF it was gone! I am such an idiot sometimes. (And yes, I do have a few people that will attest to the veracity of that statement too)!

Once again, I have this "meth~mouse" going on; and it is zig~zagging ALL over the screen! Perhaps it is time for a new one... this one IS pretty much a "mousasaurus" anyway. An older Logitech mouse...

We had another splendid day yesterday! We were outside for the better part of the day; coming in every so often to warm my own little paws... and of course to check on my comments and my email... (Aw... I DO love you guys for being so very kind to me! And yes, today I should be able to go read a few more of your own blogs)...

On one of my trips inside, I did get that nasty pile of dishes done... I am so proud of myself for that! And it so nicely warms up my hands to do them! I am thinking of converting to paper plates and plastic utensils! Just kidding! (Unless you have a hot dog, or sloppy joes; with plenty of baked beans and potato salad, food just NOT taste the same on paper)!!!

Oh crap, NOW I am hungry... AGAIN!

The picture above is for Unca BoBBie! Unca BoBBie wrote yesterday, and said he had heard that we had received no snow up here! WHAT??? I do not know where he get his info, (must be in all that coffee he drinks)! But I am wondering why it took me well over 2 hours then to clear the snow that we didn't receive??? Hmmm ?

Unca BoBBie I KNOW you are going to read this, so here is a big HUGE raspberry for you!

"PPPHHHHLLLLTTT!!!" hehehe!

Oh, and here is the old wheelbarrow, (the one I'd broken last Fall), with a brand new layer of NON~snow! hehehe But it looks so much better this way too!

.

.

.

LQQK at the snow effect please; and NOT at the fact that the old garage door requires repair and paint! ...hehehe
.
.
.

In summer I shall have to host a "Garage~Paint~&~Repair~Party" Anyone interested in attending??? Oh, we'll have tons of FUN, I promise!

.
.
.

And so, I did get both driveways cleared; except for the very end of each where the county is SO nice to fill up with even MORE snow for me! There was WAY too much traffic yesterday for me to do this safely anyway- I shall have to get back out there shortly!

While I plowed yesterday, Punk tried to hide behind a snowbank, lifting her head up to see me coming... She really thought I couldn't see her when she put her head down... Too funny!

.

.

.

Yes Punkie, I CAN still see you!!!
.
.
.

While near the end of the 2nd driveway, I did manage to get the back tire a bit hung up in the snow... I had to either back up or tip the darned thing over... (Yeah, I chose to back up)! hehehe... But in doing so, I effectively 'planted' the darned thing in the ditch! oh well. I did almost call Roberta since she could feasably come and push me out; but I just kept at it. With the ditch being lower than the driveways, it took a while to convince the little plow to make it up that little incline. (Only about 25 times of going back and forth)! But I did get out! YAY!

"I Think I Can! I Think I Can!"

And I did not cuss even once! (I swear I didn't)! ...hehehe... (But I do think I might have been having too much fun spinning the tires in that ditch to even think to cuss)! ...Yes I KNOW I need to get some chains...

Now I have a question... (no, NOT the Science one yet)...

But here goes... How come 2 people, (AND, I might add... 2 strong, capable men that I know personally), took the opportunity to beep their horns, SMILE, wave (hey! -one of 'em even blew me a kiss!), and NOT stop to push me out? I am going to have a whole bunch of fun the next time I see either of them! hehehe!!! (I can't wait)!

After supper, Punk and I had to go back outside to feed the birds, (as I'd plowed all their scattered little seeds under my snowbanks earlier)... Mea Culpa, Birdies!

Punk ran over to see Mama Milly, and then she made a beeline for the crabapple tree. (Milly was already in her kennel because I really didn't feel like searching for her in the dark)... Anyway, Miss Punk started digging in the snow around that tree; and then would look up toward Miss Milly for a few seconds... They would lock eyes across the yard... and then Punk would dig some more.

I am completely convinced, more than ever, that these 2 dogs communicate telepathically...

Punk

.

.

.

.........................
Dig. Look at Milly .......... Dig. Look at Milly
Over and over and over again...
.
.

This went on for the better part of about 5 minutes... and when that 5 minutes was up, Punk proudly had torn up that entire little snowbank, and had retrieved Miss Millys Squeak Ball! I should not have been shocked, but I was none~the~less!

.
.
.
Notice the "FOUND" ball between her front legs; as she 'talks' to Mama~Milly once more!
.
.
.

Miss Milly needs some water and a bit of exercise; (as do Miss Punk and myself), and so I shall start winding down once again...

But first, the Science QUESTION for you!

We have all been told that cold water boils faster than hot water... Please do not even bother to try to explain that to me- My brain has rejected the scientific explanation many, many times already... (While I think that science is absolutely fascinating in its entirety; I also have come to believe that anything 'science' falls out of my ear once it is put in my head)...

However, as I bring fresh water to Miss Milly twice each day, does the opposite then hold true?

If cold water boils faster, then would warm water freeze faster???

(Shall I be bringing tepid or cold water out to her)???

Oh my goodness it is really late... (I have got to do something about this tardiness of mine)!

Have a ___?___ day!

(Please fill in the blank for me, as I have run out of adjectives today)!

XOXO
Anne aka "CYBIL"

Now go ahead, push that "comment button", and fill in that blank!

A RARE Treat... and Comfort Foods...

Good Monday Morning to all...

At least I am thinking it is still morning here. Fell to sleep... (nap) late yesterday afternoon, and woke up about 7~ish... Was awake 'til after 2AM, and then up to bed... I slept until after 7 this morning! (As you well know, this is not anything I am allowed to do on a regular basis)!

The above picture... (and I surely hope it turned out), is of my friend Judy. I shall have to dig much deeper to find one from about 4th grade!!! Oh were we ever cute back then! (NOT)!!

Her nickname is "SASSY" (and yes, it was given to her by her parents; who would surely KNOW whether or not to call her such a name)! hehehe

Yesterdays RARE treat came for me in the form of a rummage sale that I had found through one of my groups here on my 360!!! (Barely able to contain myself, I HAD to go and check her things out)!

I used to have a bumper sticker that stated "I BRAKE FOR RUMMAGE SALES!" Mom and I were always finding a few to go to; but surely none in January! And yes, there were even a few close calls as one or the other of us would spy a yard sale or rummage sign and I had to turn quickly or miss it... (Hey, those drivers behind me? They were warned)! hehehe Mom and I could laugh all day long! We sure had fun!

But back to yesterday. By the time the ladys sale opened (at one in the afternoon), there was already about 2~3 inches of newfallen snow... I left Miss Punk here... safe and warm for her anyway! And I set out through the snow and the WAY slick roads. Not even thinking, (or maybe thinking of Mr. Starbucks), I drove straight to the highway, and was on the acceleration ramp before I realized my stupid mistake! (I had really meant to take the county road into town, and not the danged highway). All was well until I got to my exit. There was quite a wreck at the bottom of that one; the police having just gotten there. (Not sure of what actually had happened, but I shall venture to guess that since none of the roads had been plowed or salted that one of those vehicles simply did not stop at the bottom of the ramp). How do people forget that if the snow is on the roads that they must take it easy... or hit the ditch... (or something else)? Maybe the very same way I forgot to take Velp into town? Didn't look like anyone was injured, save for the two cars involved...

And so, remembering NOT to get on the highway to go home, I did take the county road back to Suamico. However, inbetween Green Bay and Suamico sits a "Piggly~Wiggly" ...Once more, I just HAD to stop in... (And yes, this is where those 'comfort foods' come in)!

First the cut~up melons, 3 or 4 bakers potatoes, and the baby carrots too...

Proceeding onward I realize that since I am at the store, that I haven't eaten at all yet... (BAD, BAD me)!

My cart seemed to know this about me, so directly to the deli sped that noisy~wheeled little thing.

(I am tellin' ya, that wobbly cart was completely OUT OF CONTROL)! Truly.

The 'Chili con Queso' dip beckoned to me.

And then a half pound of their own Homemade Shrimp Salad.

The turkey and gravy were screaming my name!

And an entire rotisseree chicken! "PICK ME!" "PICK ME!"

Of course a fish or two had to cry out as I passed by... (and when they are cute as Little Nemo, how COULD I possibly be so rude as to say 'no' and just walk on by)!?

Then I absolutely had to get some of my Apple Jacks. I believe I had emptied that previous box when one of you were doing the, (ahem), "Red~River~Dance" last week; and I had sympathized with you all week long! (Yes, I always share them with Miss Punk)!

There was also a bag of very ripe bananas that will go for dog treats. I make Banana Biscotti Treats with them. (That danged bag actually threw itself into my cart as it was heading for the deli)...

...Note: I do not particularly care for banana bread, but these 'nanners' would be perfect for that too. Besides, bananas are NOT the greatest for "Blood~Type~A" people. (Which I have).

And so I am very late today... and I STILL have to get out and shovel those 3 or 4 inches that are laying out there waiting for me to move...

...And yes, I remain knee~deep in dishes... The damned maid never did do them yesterday. But she did leave me a note on the table saying that she was quitting because I never buy any munchies... (Yeah, BAD day to be quitting, wouldn't you agree)? HEHEHE....

..."AS IF"

I'd better close, but not before showing you how the river looked yesterday...

.

.

.

Sure is pretty! .... It is currently 23 degrees. We're having a heat wave!
.
.
.

Ok time for me to get busy...

But wait, where the heck shall I begin, this place is a veritable disaster area!!!

Hope you are having a wonderful Monday!!!

XOXO
Anna-Anna!

XOXO

Happy Sunday!

Good Morning Everyone!

The above picture is what Miss Punk looked like right before I had left, She KNEW I was going to be leaving her here alone; and was not too happy about that. (Of course neither is she too happy about going for a ride either)! Last week, I had bought a car restraint thingie for her. The label said it would fit dogs up to 110 pounds, and it proved to be too small. Kelli was headed to Petco yesterday, and offered to exchange it for me. They had none bigger of that very cool style, but she did get one that was alright, and yes, it DOES fit Miss Punk.

Anyway... Off to the Olive Garden... (& I swear there were about 158 million people waiting in the foyer to be seated), Casey had left early just to be able to get her name on the waiting list as there was a 45 minute wait to be seated. I was greeted by a wonderful squealing Miss Valerie, who gave me the most beautiful hug! (How cool is it to have someone run up to you and gave you a great big hug)? I haven't seen Miss Valerie since Christmas! And I haven't gotten a hug like that in a very long time!!!

.
.
(When I asked her where we are going next month, she squealed again, and happily replied, ALABAMA!)!!!!
.
.

Thank goodness Casey had gotten there early, we were all seated within about 10 minutes!

Even Casey's boyfriends mom and sister came; and I was very happy to meet them too!

.

.

CaseyAnne and Derek!
.
.

My friend Judy came also... (Judy and I have been such wonderful and close friends since the fourth grade)! Her husband Bob was setting up for a show at the Weidner Center, and so couldn't join us.

I did get my Mediterranean Shrimp Scampi dish! ...Oooooh, it is SO good! (I even brought some home with me). ...And yes, I ordered coffee...

After we ate, the crew at the Olive Garden brought out a little cake for Casey.

.

.

and I don't even know if she made a wish before she blew out the candle!
.
.

As that cake was chocolate, I passed on having a slice, except for a small piece that Master Gabriel had offered to me, (and pretty much demanded that he put in my mouth)! ...My head~vs~chocolate have always been exceptional rivals.

.

.

Berta's head is like that too...

.

.

.................
Oh goodness, but even that small piece of cake was yummy!!
.
.
Jenny Mella ...and Casey with her new shirt!
.
.

Casey's best friend, Jenny Mella, had found her a 'Heart Hands and Crown' T-shirt! This is exceptionally cool, because Casey has always loved the Claddagh jewelry. And each year, Jenny has always fashioned a hat for Casey out of the napkins at the Olive Garden... This year was NO different!

.

.

Personally, I think the girl could wear a burlap bag and still be cute!
.
.

Afterwards, some of us went to Ashwaubenon Lanes for bowling. (I went only to take a few pictures of Casey trying to bowl in a skirt)!!! hehehe

.

.

............
Derek, KC and Jenny........... CaseyAnne and Jenny being cute!
.
.

Unfortunately open bowling did not start until 9:30, (and it was only just a little after 7 p.m.). They all decided just to go Dereks and watch some movies. (That's about when my Xanax was wearing off, and I just came home then). I sat down at the computer, put all the pictures in, and headed up to bed about 10. I am still pretty tired this morning. And yes, my head is pretty much killing me too. Oh well. It sure has been a hectic week. (And I didn't even make it out the door to get to Tims grandmothers wake on Friday night; having my Xanax not working well enough).

Again, some good, some bad but thankfully MOST of the worlds problems fall somewhere in~between; (as do my own)...

Many of you have written or even called to ask if I am alright?
And I am!
~From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for caring.
I know that I was more than a little vague yesterday... my apologies for that.

Suffice it to say that I do not handle any kind of betrayal too well.

I do not betray my family, (or anyone else that I love) EVER, Nor for ANY reason; and I fully expect NO LESS from them.

It is a simple R*E*S*P*E*C*T issue. (Sadly, the matter remains very painful; and very pitifully unresolved). This too shall be dealt with; in my own time, (and in my own way)... While I have already been told that I am not much to be proud of in the 1st place, I also know that I should not be the subject of ridicule, jeering or mockery. To do so, completely invalidates our values as family; (or shall I just say the honorable ethics that I have tried to instill in my children).

Perhaps I have said too much already- Forgive me for unloading; ...Unfortunately it is 'unload' or go completely nuts at this point in time... (Oh wait, I am already there)!!! hehehe

But see?
As I have told you already, Life in Flintville isn't
always perfect.

...But damn, it's close!

I hope you are all having a ˜wunnaful" weekend! I have a bunch of things to get done out in the old garage, and will get busy on that all! If Spring comes early I can then open up the rummage sale as weather provides¦ (But first, it honestly looks like I have 3 months of dishes to attend to)! Hehehe ...And I see yet another weather alert that tells me I will be shoveling once more. (Maybe I shall even work off a bit of that pasta)!!!

XOXO
Anne
