Burma~Shave Road Signs!

I just HAVE to share this...

For those who never saw any of the BurmaShave signs, here is a quick lesson in our history of the 1930's and '40's. Before there were interstates, when everyone drove the old 2 lane roads, BurmaShave signs would be posted all over the countryside in farmers' fields.

They were small red signs with white letters. Five signs, about 100 feet apart, each containing 1 line of a 4 line couplet......and the obligatory 5th sign advertising BurmaShave, a popular shaving cream

Here are more of the actual signs:

Do these bring back any old memories?

They sure did for me!

Driving down the highways for our Sunday Afternoon outings... and seeing these signs from the open windows of the Old 4~door Ford Galaxy!

Dogs. Proposals. Life

Paranormal tomorrow... And as you finish reading this, please keep the following in mind:

No Stephen Kings please.

I really DO want to emphasize that this is NOT a scare fest. (There is plenty of time for that kind of nonsense near All Hallows Eve).

This is only to have you realize that perhaps none of us are really alone with respect what we have seen, heard, felt, etc. To share how we have acted on all of it too.
Guess I am trying to REMOVE that silly fear. No one has truly gotten hurt by any of this; (unless you chose to go running out of the house and 'clothesline' yourself in the process).

I firmly believe that anything paranormal canNOT hurt you.

So really, no Hollywood stuff here... Just your own amazing experiences.

(But all of that is for later anyway)!!!

~~~~~~~~~~
Good Morning Today!
Hope all is well with everyone, and that you are looking ahead to a very fine weekend.
Methinks our own weather~people are drunk because they said the "S" word again... I believe it is only to be flurries, but I don't even want that! Here I sit at 19 degrees, and all of you are talking about planting your gardens, flowers etc... (I guess I could always go play in the hard mud)?
Oh, but I am seeing now that Tonya's parents, and Christopher X, and all others along the NE Coast will be getting a nasty winter storm this weekend. (I shall not complain about our flurries then... Stay warm and safe).
*I have to write about nothing today cuz my danged head has been quite unruly... on again, and off again...
(Hmmm... Now THAT would sound very Mary Shelley~ish if y'all didn't know about my migraines)! hehehe
I want to thank those of you who have sent me pictures and stories of your own experiences too! Be sure to check the links at the bottom here... (after you comment).
And then perhaps a trip to Miss DeeAnnes page. She has had people sending her their own weird experiences, and has also related a few weird occurences of her own. (She has also assured me that her page is now open to all and sundry)!
I had brought Miss Milly out yesterday morning, and heard the familiar "rat~a~tat~tat" of a woodpecker! (yes, maybe spring IS coming)!?
Trying to get a better view, I slowly sneaked around the old crabapple tree... shhhh... And I couldn't see him anywhere. ?
As I began to move about, he would stop, and all would (wood) be quiet. ??? ...Then I would hear him again... I did this a whole bunch of times, unable to see the darned thing. (Ok so this got real weird, real fast). ...The little guy should have at least flown off, and I would have seen him then...
No such luck.
What the hey???
As I am standing directly below that tree, looking upwards, the old "rat~a~tat~tat" sounds right next to my ear~ (I quite nearly jumped out of my boots)!!! But here was THIS little guy less than a foot away from my ear...
Poor little abused "WOODPECKER"! (Yeah, right)!
(My little chickadee was almost done with his breakfast)!
.
And then asked to be excused! (Must have been what all that knocking was about)!
But yes, he had to wait til I got my camera!
He was rapping on the plexi~glass with his little beak!
I'll bet this is the first time any of you has ever seen an imposter of a woodpecker!
.
.
CaseyAnne stopped out yesterday afternoon, before she had to run and help Derek with the apartments and then to play volleyball...
And she proceeded to steal every one of Punks toys that the young dog would bring to show her.
Poor abused DOG now? They always have so much fun together...
And funny how Punkie (mostly) knows her limits with other people... IE: What Casey will put up with; what Berta will put up with; (and even how much food she can get away with stealing from Master Gabriel)...
Berta has been working some overtime with people on 3rd shift calling in sick... keeps her up til almost 7AM too... Nasty hours, but Gabriel lets her sleep in most days... Always nice on the paycheck though; (as long as you're not stuck on salary)!
.
Nice that CaseyFace has this week off....
a nice little vacation of sorts for her!
.
They had been at Dereks the night before...
(Cute story time now)... and had some friends over, when the topic of marriage had come up...
Derek calmly replied that he needed to ask me first. (And then added that if "I" turned him down he would just have to ask Casey to marry him)! He is SO damned funny! So yes, when his house is finished, they shall be marrying!
.
CaseyAnne and Derek- Up north last weekend!.
.
Oh, and what a day that will be for me to be able to see my youngest 'baby' get married! (Yeah, now I understand even a bit more of what my own parents went through).
I believe that CaseyAnne has chosen very wisely most everything she has ever put her heart and soul into; and at times her wisdom has been well beyond her years. (How much more proud can one mama be)?!?
NOTE: added 11/09/07 Their engagement is off as Derek began to morph into a somewhat controlling person. ie: right down to telling her where she could go, when, and how to wear her eyeliner?
WTH?
Like my quote used to say, "If this gets any better, I shall have to hire somebody to help me enjoy it!"
She called this morning on her way into town. Said they had spent last night until 1AM at the Animal Hospital for one of the dogs. The dogs had each gotten their brand new doggie beds... (And like the 'little embarassed children' that they can be at times, they had to find something to argue about... or they wouldn't have been happy)...
Derek is also watching his dads dog, Banshee, while his dad is on vacation.
So that makes 3 dogs in Dereks house... Mr. Dereks Great Dane, (sassy, young, and huge), decided that she was Alpha~Dog... and began to fight with Banshee. Banshee lost a bit of DNA in the fiasco, (but will be just fine after that dose of antibiotics runs its course).
Kinda nasty to have to bring a dog to the vet at night... (Gee, almost as bad as having to bring your kids in)!
And with that, I had better close and get this show on the road! I still have a 'kazillion' bags of donated rummage sale stuff to get through ...and for some reason that clothes will NOT hang itself up. (Sure am happy that I have a pricing gun though to handle all the clothing tags for me)!
Have a 'wunnaful' weekend!
(And STOP talking about your nice cozy "Spring" weather already)!
XOXO
Anne
PS
As I was 'surfing' this morning I came up with a very cool paranormal site for pictures... While some I have my suspicions on, there are more than a few that will pique your interest too. Enjoy!
CLICK HERE for that website.
More stories please, and as DeeAnne has done, I will link to your own blogs too... (Unless it is closed to the public, then just let me know... But I don't think I have that many of you that are closed off)... We got nothing to hide!!! hehehe
So many of you have written to say "thank you", that if you would talk about this all that NOBODY would believe you or whatever... I'll believe you, (and as my mailbox would suggest, many others will also)!
HIGH WATER!
Good Morning!!!
"Friends, Romans, Countrymen! ~~~ Lend me your ears!"
hehehe
(Oh I had to stick something in here regarding the "Ides of March" )...
Happy Birthday Pea? hehehe
Having fallen asleep earlier, I am up and at 'em right now; but I do not think for too long anymore either. (Pity the poor fool who tries to figure out my sleeping cycles)! Been up since about midnight... (Would whomever changed my back to sandpaper and grit please change it back now)?
It has been warming up, or at least TRYING to.
...And yes, is causing a bit of a problem right down the road...
.
.
OK. Not the 'bestest' picture I ever shot, but you get the idea...
(I took it backwards out of the window as I had a semi coming at me in the other lane).
This what I had just driven through
The river by me, (about 1/2 mile west of this) is way back in the woods... And down about 200 feet, so thankfully, I do not have any flooding problems where I am at.
.
This part is usually only about 5' across... on the rocks on a warm day...
Perhaps if the floes would melt a bit faster the rest of the barricades would be able to be swept away...
(You can't tell, but that floe is about 8" thick)...
"Birdseed Mountain"
The snowbanks as they melt leave a myriad of beauty, unreplicated anywhere else...
.
.
.
.
.
And last years beauty will soon be replaced by greenery of all sorts... (Even weeds)!
.
.
.
.
This years lilacs threaten to bud and bloom too early...
.
.
.
These lilacs came from Virginia Ryan, our neighbor, who originally got them from my mother! The Ryans had an entire beautiful wall of lilacs inbetween their home and the farmland, but Ginny said the ones up by her house were the ones from Mom. Very cool! She had given me some shoots from those plants shortly before she'd passed. They are finally taking root and growing here... Again... But now that it will once again be turning colder, I am afraid that the buds will freeze and I won't have any lilacs this year... Oh they smell like a piece of heaven!
Speaking of Heaven in little pieces... I do hope you have all had the opportunity to read my last two blogs... yes, there is still much more to say, and more photos (and I have so many questions too)... And am thinking that many of you can help me out with those...
.
.
.
Casey stopped out the other day. The melting snowbanks presenting a real problem for Miss Punk... Who had accused Miss Casey of stealing and hiding her bone...
.
.
.
.
"Where is my bone??? ~YOU DID IT!!!~ I just KNOW it!"
.
.
.
Casey tried to show her where to look...
.
.
.
Do you think it's "here"???
.
.
.
"OK, I'll Look..."
.
.
.
Maybe it's over here then....
.
HA! I found it!!!
.
.
Back OFF, Baby! It's MINE!!!
.
.
.
.
.
Hard to believe that this little girl (and her sisters and brothers), will be a whole year old on the 27th already!!! Where has the time gone?
And time has flown by this early morning too... So I should close for now...
Have cleaning to do, some wash... (WAY TOO MUCH MUD)! And maybe a trip to Walmart too... We shall see...
I hope you all are having a grand morning!!! Enjoy the Springtime!
Faces ~to Heartbeats ~to Infinity... and Deja Vu (2 Combined entries)
Please bear with me,
as I try to UNscrew my own screwups on here this morning.
My little Valerie- surrounded by her spirits, and angels...
Good Morning Everyone...
I think I am about to open a whole new can of worms with this entry- Have just finished writing to Cousin Buttercup- She had asked me a bit about spirits etc etc etc...
Will try to copy/paste her note onto this page for you- And my own response to it too...
I shall first copy what I think may have made her ask the question of me in the 1st place...
Here goes nuthin'...
I remember the 1st time to have come all this way from home; with the girls all so little... Not really knowing anyone, (rather just knowing OF them)- but finding ourselves so very welcomed too. Being granted the opportunity to stay in my grandmother's home was an extra special invitation for me- (I missed meeting her by such a short while)- When I come to Sault Ste. Marie I stay here to this day-
It is a wonderful old home, with many joys- almost palpable, tangible, in their entirety...
The "feel" of the house- Like I have been here many times-
Perhaps that is the spirit within us all.
Perhaps the deja~vu is REAL- and I HAVE been here before; (cell memories being what they are)... I do not know.
But here I find a peace within my soul that I do not find anyplace else
.
Now her notes... and mine
Saturday July 15, 2006 - 12:13am (EDT)
Anne-
I hear that you were trying to spook my Uncle Scott by calling from gram's house and going to tell him that his mother said to call....that would have been funny.
Do you ever feel like there is anyone else in the house with you while your there? I don't know if I could stay there alone or not.....though I love being there....it is such a great feeling because nothing has really changed in that house since gram died. Not like the house on the Island-big-big changes there....for the better except maybe no more garden.
Now my reply...
Tuesday July 18, 2006 - 05:08am (CDT)
My Dear Miss Buttercup;
As far as 'anyone else' goes, it is a topic I would love to share with you; (but would definitely need more than the 4000 characters they give to a person to comment on)...
I am not afraid of spirits, "visits" etc...
Having lived through the deaths of both of my parents, and now living in the very same house where I grew up; the same house where my mother and paternal grandmother BOTH passed in, I have witnessed more than my share of the "unexplainable".
I have watched my animals and my grandbabies "see" things that do not correspond with what I can see with my own mortal eyes. But this is (and was) never a frightening thing for me either...
My own mother was more upset about these little things- The noises that had no visuals to go with them- or an apparition that may/may not have been shared with another in the house- And she was very scared at times in her life; but only until Dad died. It was after his death that she began to welcome such little things; even the dreams she would have from time to time transcended his own passing.
(Personally, I am much more afraid of the 'living')...
I think you want to know if I feel if Grandma's house is haunted.
If it is, it does not scare me...
It would truly be sad, (and surprising), if there weren't any "visits from the afterlife" in a home that has been always filled with such a rich history of love and of family.
I have never been 'afraid' to be in Grandma's home alone.
There are so many wonderful things to look at and to try to picture the care with which she bought them- or the fun she had in finding them in the first place!
I believe she was a happy and joyous person; and I also believe that even death cannot change that which is in our souls to begin with.
Like I have inferred above, I could go on and on and on and on.
As you hear the obviously true stories of experiences that people have had in grandmas house, just ask the person telling the story- or know this in your heart for yourself, "Has anyone ever truly been 'harmed' in any way in that home?"
The answer is 'no'-
(And yes, I have heard more than a few stories myself).
There are people that do not believe in spirits, and will tell you that their own faith allows them not to believe- (Why then is there the blessed trinity"?)? A bunch of narrow minded bunk from people who will not believe-
I may have bordered on the naysayers point of view for a time in my own life-
But that lasted ONLY until I was touched by these spritis in/of/through my own experience(s).
I promise you this:
Those same people who do not believe are guaranteed to do that very thing as soon as they experience their own.
You 'believe', Buttercup- or you wouldn't have asked. That belief tells me of your own open heart and soul. And isn't it peaceful and comforting to know that those we miss so very much can still be with us at points in our lives?
A last thought too- Those who feel as though they cannot remain in a home that may/may not be 'haunted'... What makes you think that those spirits are "grounded" in any way shape or form? Spirits can travel; most people are just more comfy in their own homes is all- Guess I believe we should just comfortable enough in their own skins.
Do not ever be afraid, Tiffany- And if at any point in time you are afraid to even go to sleep, just pray to God and the Holy Spirit that you will sleep peacefully.
Dreams, death, and sleep, for us mortals are 3 things that we just cannot fully understand is all; and ultimately they are the three things that keep our own souls alive forever.
Peace.
Anne
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Have I begun to make any of you 'think' about "things" you may have experienced of your own accord?
Think back to when you were a child...
  • *Did you have an invisible playmate?
AND FOR 'NOW'
  • *Do you remember dreams that made you feel good about?
  • *Do you believe that you have been here before?
  • *Do you encounter spirits, or feel them close-by?
  • *Do you truly believe in God? Jesus? The Holy Spirit?
  • *Do you truly believe in your own spirit?
  • *Do you believe that death only separates us for a little while?
  • *Do you believe in the afterlife?
  • *Do you believe in reincarnation?
  • *Cell memories?
  • *HAVE YOU BEEN HERE BEFORE?
  • *Do you believe that only fear of fear itself keeps us from witnessing our own lives on a truly spiritual level?
  • *Do you believe in your Guardian Angel(s)?

If so, or if not, please feel free to share your own experiences with us all in the comments at the bottom.
You can even email me pictures at Anna_Loves_Life@Yahoo.com if you would like.
I am forever interested and curious as to what other people have experienced in their own lives, hearts, homes and souls.

Have a wonderful day!
XOXO
Anne

Oh, and as an added PS, for those of you who can just think noises etc can be explained by your house settling...
FACT:
New homes settle more often than old ones;
so please do NOT think it takes 50, 100, or even 200+ years for a home to "settle" ... Unless you have a terribly bad foundation- (and if this is the case, please move out for your own safety).
hehehe

    Faces; ~to Heartbeats; ~to Infinity...

    Good Morning to ALL...

    Are you still with me on this? (Hanging in there OK with my own little perspective on things)?

    Life After Death; After Life; After Death... (Part Two)...

    Again, no disclaimers here. These are only my thoughts...

    But I am curious...

    ...Could anyone 'see' the large open~mouthed face next to Johnnys in yesterdays picture?

    It took me a while too, not seeing it... and then, there it IS... I was pretty freaked out after one of the kids had brought it to me!

    ...And so here is another for you to take a gander at...

    .

    .

    .

    Do you see anyone looking in the window by Uncle Chum?
    .
    .
    (there is only green "lawn" out of that window)...
    .
    .
    .
    .
    How about a "face" in the piano behind Roberta?
    .
    .
    (there were NO lights on in the dining room at that point in the day)...
    .
    .
    .
    .
    An angel on the siding?
    .
    .
    .
    Again, hard to see, but definitely there...
    .
    .
    .
    Was this possibly my "Amos" under the willow tree to scare Miss Punkin?
    (Look exactly where Punk is looking)...
    .
    .
    .
    ..
    .
    Do you see him now?
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    And what is Punkie looking at in this picture?
    .
    .
    Certainly nothing that either Casey nor I saw...
    (Again, Animals and Children see things that we do not)...
    .

    .

    .

    What did you see?

    And how many pictures are there with so many orbs in them?

    Or even just one orb?

    Many people believe these orbs to be 'visits' from angels or even from spirits of loved ones.

    Others believe them to be their own powerful auras.

    Still others believe them to be manifestations of dirt on a lens... (not unless all consecutive pictures also show that same dirt).

    Or, dust in the air... But if there is all that dust then it would show up (once more) within all the other photos as well, taken at the same time. (I don't know about YOU, but if my house is dusty, it is dusty; that dust does not settle inbetween pictures).

    Moisture? Even on a dry summer day/evening/morning? Humidity being what it is, my guess would be it would show up 'foggy' and not orb~ish.

    Eliminate those particles then...

    ...That would leave spirits, souls, or angels...

    And the faces that we see?

    Not there when you press the shutter, but appear in the picture?

    I do not know how to explain that.

    Early pictures that would 'catch' such things were always thrown out.

    But if God has sent this to you, why throw it away before you know how to define or to describe it?

    But of the cat under the tree, I can only say that making this picture as large as I could after I had taken it, even distinguishes his b/w markings appropriately. Go figure...

    .
    .
    .
    A double~Heart orb over Ritas head in this picture?
    .
    .
    with the 2 others above us all?
    But can any one of you explain any of these pictures to me?
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    And now...
    infinity noun ...The state or quality of being infinite:
    boundlessness
    , immeasurability, immeasurableness, inexhaustibility, inexhaustibleness, infiniteness, limitlessness, measurelessness, unboundedness, unlimitedness. See limited
    The totality of time without beginning or end: eternality, eternalness, eternity, perpetuity, sempiternity.
    Many of you do not believe in reincarnation. Until I even only tried to understand the concept, I stumbled over many little roadblocks and questions.
    And then, I began to to question a few MORE things...
    LIKE...
    How big is BIG?
    What does "God Always was, and always will be" actually mean?
    What is space as it may/may not relate to Heaven?
    What is Earth compared to an INfinite space?
    Do you believe that God created all things? (In whatever image you have of Him).
    And what then is your own definition of time/space?
    "INFINITY?"
    .
    Our humble little minds (that we use less than 10% of), cannot possibly begin to grasp even a mere, or basic sense, of "INFINITY" ...and beyond.
    My own question and ultimate light began with the following question:
    If God is infinite why would He then cast souls to earth for only approximately 70 years?
    I think we do not believe in reincarnation, only because we think of 'being' in terms of a mere 70 years.
    Now think of that same 70 years; and only try to compare it to INFINITY.
    Surely it is not even a drop in Gods Bucket of life!
    I believe that my God can/will/has given us life itself to learn, (and to relearn), here, (or even other places as well).
    ...If He is as capable, (as we all know him to be), then there is not only Earth in his control and His thoughts.
    Do I believe that we reincarnate immediately? Absolutely not. The more you learn~ (or even the more you screw~up), the more you are to share with the others above...
    ...And the need to define "above".
    ...As only God can do, (and what I believe He HAS done)... We are here, and so are they. But they are in spirit form, (while we are stuck in these aging and mostly unforgiving bodies of ours).
    I believe because some people are more "open" to these states of mind while others are more "closed~minded" or 'hushed' about that aspect, and in that respect.
    "Hushed" comes from other mortals, not God.
    God does not limit us; (we do THAT to ourselves).
    I believe we return with little imprints from our past mistakes and successes. This is cell memory. Somehow transferred to our present bodys while our spirit is coming to us with our life intact.
    Everybody, every single ONE of us, HAS a spirit, our soul, (or whatever you wish to call it). Some souls are darker than others, some are lighter. (And we ALL know people with dark/light energies, like this)!
    And we 'recognize' these spirits, souls from places we do not necessarily remember.
    Deja vu?
    Have you ever met someone, only to know immediately there is a close bond between yourselves?
    While on the other hand, have you taken an immediate dislike to another?
    There is a reason that our souls KNOW these things.
    You have just recognized someone from your past! The same as when you dream, and you travel and you "recognize" places that you would have no reason to!
    But even with that, the bottom line is that we are ALL here to teach others, something.
    We do not have to be parents or teachers to do this. It is simply what we are here for.
    Living. Learning. And Sharing.
    That no matter what kind of life path we have, no matter where that has taken us, somebody else WILL learn from it. (No matter how unimportant, or innocuous, we might believe our offerings to others to be).
    "Legacy?" You bet!
    Our own concepts of "right" or "wrong" most certainly does not play a role in this either. It is only HOW we interpret information given to us, or taught to us.
    We learn from our own mistakes, as well as from the mistakes of others. We have learned as much from psychotics as we have learned from high school; (AND we have put that to better use)... We no longer burn anyone at the stake because we don't understand powers that may be, or the energy of it all... or because we simply cannot comprehend "infinity" as being "Everything"~
    No longer 'hiding' our beloved family members away in a sanitarium or an asylum.
    We not only try to teach them, but we learn from them as well.
    That is the cycle of life.
    ...And I do not believe that our learning stops with our heartbeats. I believe that since God has created us in His image, that we just keep getting better and better with each life cycle.
    70 years?
    Not a chance... if you can take into consideration that He always WAS, IS, and ALWAYS will be. The simple "INFINITY" of it all.
    As I stated yesterday then... "Certainly this entire topic cannot possibly contained in one minor blog posting. I will be posting more on this... (Especially AFTER I get to read all of your comments and such)."
    There exists a myraid of questions still... Perhaps more later...
    Again though from yesterday, I write this not to detract from any religious beliefs, but only to ADD to them.
    With God, there is always MORE.
    Have a grand day!
    XOXO
    Now how about those questions and pictures?~
    A Wonder, Without Fear...
    .
    .
    .
    Good Afternoon!
    Yes, I have a bloody headache... Am thinking it is from all those shots and pills the dang doctor gave me when I threw my back out on Sunday... 3 injections, and 4 prescriptions that I am actually afraid to take.... Gee does anybody have an unused walker??? (I should not make jokes). Sorry. Hard to sit, stand, lie down, or move without my hot knife moving within my vertebra...
    Life After Death; After Life; After Death... (Part One)...
    .
    .
    Dennis, Johnny Mellotte, Reianna hiding, Rodney, Daniel, Laurie and Lee...
    .
    Now check the cupboard door directly left of Johnnys head. ~Where his hair seems to hit...You might see the eyes, the nose and the open mouth, (Johnnys bangs almost directly under the nose part of 'its' face)...
    What do you see?
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    Do not worry if you cannot see "it" ~(Hard to scan and to still preserve the integrity of the photo)~ I will write more about this picture in another blog.
    .
    .
    But for now, you'd best get a coffee... and a footstool...
    Oh, hells bells, I am not even going to bother to begin with a disclaimer because you ALL know that these are only my experiences, and my opinions.
    Having had an overwhelming support of my previous blog entitled, "Deja Vu? Spirits? Afterlives? Hauntings?"
    I have found that those of you who have commented, or written-sharing of your own experiences have felt absolutely no shame or ridicule in doing so.
    Me neither. But then again, if you know me, then you KNOW I do not care what the heck anyone thinks of me in the 1st place... (Life is much easier this way)...
    From that (oh, so scientific) poll of mine...
    ...Fully 100% of you HAVE experienced something 'unscientific' in your own lives, (as "paranormal" if you will)...
    Furthermore, a full 75% of those polling have also had many unexplainable events in their own lives. (In fact, NOBODY who has read it has told me I am full of crapola)! hehehe
    I am going to copy my questions from that blog here...
    Have I begun to make any of you 'think' about "things" you may have experienced of your own accord?
    Think back to when you were a child...
    • *Did you have an invisible playmate?
    AND for the 'NOW' of your life...
    • *Do you remember dreams that made you feel good about anything?
    • *Do you believe that you have been here before?
    • *Do you encounter spirits, or feel them close-by?
    • *Do you truly believe in God? Jesus? The Holy Spirit?
    • *Do you truly believe in your own spirit?
    • *Do you believe that death only separates us for a little while?
    • *Do you believe in the afterlife?
    • *Do you believe in reincarnation?
    • *Cell memories?
    • *HAVE YOU BEEN HERE BEFORE?
    • *Do you believe that only fear of fear itself keeps us from witnessing our own lives on a truly spiritual level?
    • *Do you believe in your Guardian Angel(s)?
    ----
    Certainly this entire topic cannot possibly contained in one minor blog posting. I will be posting more on this... (Especially AFTER I get to read all of your comments and such).
    There exists a myriad of questions still...
    And I shall start from where it began for me... (such a rascally "young 'en" I was then)!
    I remember being maybe 5 or 6... And one night to have risen out of bed, and simply flew (floated) down the stairs here... A soft landing, and I was off again. So as not to be 'caught' by my parents, I returned to bed, comfortable in the knowledge that I could do this, (and would; more than a few times later)...
    My parents were pre~programmed (as are MOST parents) to 'nay~say' any "weird" thoughts, ideas, principles and experiences.
    My own experiences not being limited to that occasional 'flight'; but my 'dreams' brought me many places that I previously knew nothing about. (Or I simply thought I didn't).
    ...How my very own house would mysteriously "change" blueprints, (but that I still knew it as "MY" house). And I was never afraid. Just filled with a weightless joy. I felt as though I was just 'checking in' (on something, somehow and someway).
    The friends and family that I immediately recognized as loved ones, and knew intimately, bore absolutely NO resemblance to the physical faces I now see them as...
    I believe this is a "recognition of soul". (As in I HAVE been here before)!
    The homes I "knew" every crook and cranny to, imprinted places where I may have lived or frequented at one point in history. (um...sorry kids, I have never returned to, or revisited a brothel)! hehehe
    I can remember asking mom about ghosts. While she was not particularly a strong supporter of ghosts, (who is?); neither was she a complete skeptic.
    When we were young, (REALLY young), my grandmother passed away in this house. She was well into her 80's, (and had lived in this home almost 50 years).
    She died in the early 1960's. All remodeling was done, save for a few things that the upstairs needed.
    At that point in time, our home was warmed by wood and coal. It was an unspoken agreement that whomever woke during the night would also make sure the furnace was filled. (Usually this was done by my somewhat restless grandmother). Mom and Dad would always hear her footsteps on the stairs; either as she woke, or when she returned from the basement after taking care of that hungry furnace during those nasty winter nights....
    ...One night, from the upstairs, Mom heard Grandma on her return from the basement, and heard her go into her room and shut the door. It was a moment later that Mom realized this to be odd. Grandma had passed away many months previous! Of course Mom woke Dad, who "tsk~tsked" her story, rolled over and went back to sleep. (It wasn't that easy for Mom to do after that)... Yet every now and then, she would hear the very same thing happen, many times over. In my younger years, even I was quick to tell her that it was the house "settling"...
    Dad had said it was the "house settling." (Have I mentioned before that a part of this house is over 200 years old)? A part of it having been moved here from its foundation less than a quarter of a mile away.
    If you have read that previous entry, you already know that houses do not 'settle'.
    From that entry come the following words; "FACT: New homes 'settle' more often than old ones; so please do NOT think it takes 20, 50, 100, or even 200+ years for a home to "settle" ...
    Unless you have a terribly bad foundation.
    ..
    (and if this is the case, please move out for your own safety)."
    ~~~~~~~~~~

    Changing topics a bit now...

    Now, what of that feeling you get, a sixth sense when you 'feel' that someone is looking at you? Usually, you turn, and find the person and carry on a conversation. This happens so very many times each and every day of our lives that we do not even count them as paranormal, or relating to a sixth sense. Amazingly; deaf, and blind people too, have this intuitive sense more readily available to them. As only it should be.

    In their later years, my parents would babysit the girls when I had softball; and when Little Lisa could not be at home for them. This particular night, the girls were out at Mom and Dads...

    ...I was in my early 20's, recently divorced. And sound asleep in bed at my own home after a night of softball. I awoke at about 2:30, hearing a noise, (or perhaps sensing that someone needed me, or was looking at me).

    I turned in my bed, to see Roberta standing in the doorway. She was wearing one of the 'new to you' dresses that I had bought second~hand; and it looked so very cute on her. (This 'chalkboard' dress had ABC's written all over the fabric, with a few numbers thrown in also. Looked as if it was written by a 4 year old. So neat)! But getting back, when I asked Roberta what she needed, she didn't answer me.

    Looking closer, I quickly realized this child was NOT Roberta. (It had taken a few seconds to even remember that the girls were with my Mom and Dad that night)... On the third look, (and after I had pinched myself, looked away and looked back twice), the little wisp of a girl was still in my doorway, unmoving; just quietly looking at me. It was at that point in time you can betcher doopa that I ducked under my blankets, (and with a pillow over my head)! I remained still like that, quiet, for a few minutes.... Venturing another peek, she was gone perhaps as quickly as she had come to me...

    I have never forgotten that little girl, or her visit. To this day, I would recognize her in an instant should I ever happen to see her again. I have heard her, but never have I seen her again...

    We were living in the townhomes in Ashwaubenon at that point in time. My neighbor, Lisa VanHorn, and I were fast friends, and we shared almost everything. (Even the stairwell on either side of the wall)! Lisa called me in the middle of the night once, asking me what the heck I had dropped down the stairs. (WHAT)??? (I had been sleeping). She said it sounded like a bowling ball except it hadn't rolled; just a loud thud. Afraid for the girls, I get up to look down the stairwell. Nothing there! I told her this, and at that precise moment in time, her power went out, and the radio she had in (her daughter) Saras bedroom started playing... As she was whispering into the phone that I should go over there, the small lamp by her bed went on. All by itself!

    She then hears something downstairs... I was already outside her door when her kitchen light went on. Thinking she would be right there to let me in... but then to see her come down her steps and let me in. Puzzled too as to how her kitchen light was on, we just sat and listened. Hearing nothing more that night, we each returned to our beds.

    A few years later, Dennis came to us. He was asleep on the couch, napping, one afternoon, when he heard a noise... ("something" had woken him up).

    Turning, he saw a little girl on the landing of the stairs! The few answers given (when I asked him what she looked like and what she was wearing) told me that this was the exact same little girl I had seen years before! (Yet before that point in time I had NOT told him about my little 'experience' with her)! His words were, and I quote: "I thought it was Berta."

    I believe it all began to make sense to me with a book that was written by Dr. Brian Weiss. "Many Lives, Many Masters". He wrote of an experience he had with one of his many patients. Up until this patient, he was stoically and admittedly a nonbeliever in this realm. Skeptical and suspicious for all of his adult years up to that point, he wrote of how his thoughts, and ideas, had completely changed afterward.

    He created for me, a door where I was earlier told that none existed. From there, came psychic Sylvia Browne.

    There are many other people, specialists etc etc (and I believe that ALL of these people are 'Christian').

    An excellent article by David G. Meyers in "Psychology Today" (November/December 2002), quotes this as Title and Subtitle...

    "The Powers and Perils of Intuition"
    Instinct has the power to hush reason. But when is it safe to go with your gut? Researchers may remain uncertain about the reliability of intuition, but it is a difficult force to deny.

    From Laurie Nadels book, "The Sixth Sense" comes the following...

    "Mysterious and fascinating, erratic and unpredictable, intuition has been viewed with curiosity, awe, and/or suspicion throughout the ages.
    References to such intuitive gifts as precognition (prophecy) and clairvoyance can be found in the Bible (Corinthians). Ancient Greeks relied on the Oracle at Delphi for intuitive insight into the future and there are references to seers and prophets in ancient Egyptian manuscripts. In societies all over the world, from Siberia to Africa, from Ireland to South America, traditional healers who draw upon their intuitive abilities to "see," "sense," or "feel" a patient's energy, have been using surprisingly similar techniques for more than 40,000 years."

    ...And what perfect timing to have this posted on my top page just this morning, "One of the virtues of the very young is that you don't let facts get in the way of your imagination." ~ Sam Levinson~

    ...Even though imagination and intuition are two very separate things, small children have a wonderful combination of them both. (Is it really recall, imagination or intuition)???

    I have always said if you want to know "good~vs~bad" about a person, just watch a small child, or a dogs', reaction to that person. Their perception of good and bad is PURE intuition at its finest.

    From my own 6th Sense, (as intuition), to flying about like an angel, to being able to "see" things that are clearly not? there, hearing things that only used to make me question their roots and roles; I have covered too much in this post already...

    ...If you have read this far, then you are either wondering if I have lost my last marble, (or maybe you have made haste to out me on ignore/delete)... hehehe

    Or perhaps you have your own experiences to share with me? And perhaps even guide which will be next on my list to write about these things...

    And how have I changed over these years? ...Of all the noises, the smells, the sounds and the sights, I now only wonder MORE, but without fear.

    Knowing that as human beings, we only use LESS THAN 10% of our Brainpower, I believe that we are created for many bigger and better things. We have yet to tap into our own potential. The marvel of it all will be when everybody can come to terms with their own experiences...

    Their own ideas. And yes, even their own logic. That infamous 'melding of the minds'; not to revise any 'religious' beliefs, but only to ADD to them.

    In closing... have you shared any of my experiences? (Oh, and all of the above questions too)!

    Have fun recalling!!!

    XOXO
    Anne

    The "F" Word!!!

    Good Morning to all....

    Is it not a very wild and foreboding state of affairs when one feels the need to begin an entry like that???...And complete with a picture of such a letter too? RED even! GASP! (The nerve)!

    My apologies too, for such a thing; as my heart once again tells me that I really HAVE to do this.

    I promise now, to get to that later. First my blog...

    I hope this Sunday morning finds you all happy, safe and warm too. After all, it was real nice outside yesterday... The sun shining, and the promise of, (and the beginning of) the annual meltdown...

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

    I begin to see a bit of that mulch once more;
    even as the tops of the evergreens are still holding onto much snow...

    .

    .

    .

    .

    And there is much hope for the warmth of a new Spring. Whatever snow we get now, even a blizzard, will NOT stick around too very long. Whatever 'cold' we get will also not stay for a long time... as the 'ides of March' begin for us all...

    Out with the dogs yesterday too... (trying unsuccessfully to get back to the woods). The snows in the backyard still up and over the tops of my dads old sorrels. (And in places, threatening to swallow my thighs)! So to wait (a little longer) for those drifts to melt down a bit. *sigh*

    These dogs of mine quickly realizing that "deep" is fun, but tiring too! Hard to 'RUN' through the deep!

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

    ...as Miss Milly tries to catch up to Miss Punk!

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

    Not~so~quietly, they move on to a "funner" game... "KEEP AWAY", played with the old burger toy.

    .

    .

    .

    Punkie prefers to 'win' this game... as Mama~Milly plans her strategy...
    (Her strategy fails), and it's onward (and upward) to KING of The MOUNTAIN time...
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    Milly ALWAYS wins THIS game... as Miss Punk winds up rolling down and off the banks.
    .
    .
    Note that there are still a few tricks that Mamas have up their sleeves that STILL work on their babies; (no matter HOW big they get)!
    Hehehe
    .
    (Milly knows that wisdom generally does prevail over youth and inexperience). Go Milly!

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

    And we tried to see any little indication of Spring being right around the corner. (er, we HOPE)?

    At one point, the dogs sniffing at, then cowering, and making WIDE circle around a very strange (and recent) footprint in the mud...

    .

    .

    .

    .

    The footprint left behind? 'Tis none other than the deadly chupacabra leaving his mark...
    ...(and making his presence known to all)...

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

    Upon encountering such a horrible terrible thing, the dogs were quick to be afwaid...
    be VEWY afwaid........
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    and they proved that too... (scared the p*ss out 'em, it did)...
    .
    .
    .

    And so we ambled and rambled back up into the yard... where the snow was not so deep... It had already turned to puddles in some places...

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

    And those same puddles reflecting the tops of our "Flintville Mountains"!
    Anybody wanna ski???

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

    Reianna, had she lived, would have been 28 yesterday... And I know that there are many people who do not necessarily believe that we are sent signs from our loved ones that have gone ahead of us.

    But I do believe in those same signs...

    .

    .

    .

    God... Reianna... Mama...

    .

    .

    .

    ALL so very clearly reflected in this puddle. It is my "puddle of love!"
    .
    .
    .
    .

    Have a beautiful Sunday!

    XOXO
    Anne
