What Do They Expect?

Reader beware, it's a RANT can~of~worms today...

~

Good Morning;

I have had the TV on low all morning...
Most prominently in the news is the fiasco down in Texas with the one sect of Mormons, the FDLS.

Shown are the women that are crying for their children as they are taken away from them to be placed in ??? (wherever)...

Touching as this is to see, it makes me mad that the threat of separation hadn't been foremost in their minds since they joined, and ultimately gave birth to their 400+ babies. And exactly where their priorities were BEFORE the state had to step in?

Having raised 4 daughters, the thought, (not only) of (having them taken away; but) allowing them to lose their innocence to a decades older man, simply disgusts me. And under the subterfuge or cover of religion...

Note: The FLDS practice polygamy in arranged marriages, sometimes between underage girls and older men. The group has thousands of followers in two side-by-side towns in Arizona and Utah.

How many times we have been taught that "ignorance of the law is no excuse" ?
The United States of America has long passed laws regarding the safety and sanctity of children.

Pretending those laws are for someone else is an idiotic way to live.

I am thinking that these people would be in the same league as the man from Green Bay...

...Shortly before his 20th birthday, he had sex with a 15 year old girl. For this, he went to prison for however long, (I really don't remember what they reported, and I really don't care how long he was there- It wasn't long enough).

Out of prison now, he has lived with his now girlfriend in Green Bay.
That relationship has since terminated, Boo~Hoo, and he must find new housing. .

But hey, Green Bay has already passed its laws regarding housing for any sexual predators.
hehehe There isn't any room.

Newsflash for ya Buddy is that you can't live there!

(The poor damn sod has now contacted the ACLU because nobody will rent to him).

If you ask me, he violated his own civil rights LONG ago. Surely by the time a man is 19 he knew full well that what he was doing is statutory rape.

In my little opinion, both of these instances are due to knowing the law, breaking it, and then trying to pass the buck off on someone/something else.

When they have done it to themselves!!!

What DO they expect?

By any stretch of the imagination I am no angel; but I do not believe I have selfishly and ignorantly harmed other people either.

I feel worse for the babies that may never know their roots, or their mothers and fathers.

And I feel so damn sad for even knowing that this crap continues to happen.
It is simply the difference between right and wrong.
And yes, it IS that simple!

"Free Will" comes to mind...
You have made your choices. Your children will make their own choices.
But know this, you do the crime, you do the time.
And you suffer any ramifications thereof.

God Bless America, and may He doubly bless the children.

Have a "F" Friday!
hehehe
I can't think of a single decent adjective... (Can you)?

XOXO,
Anne

PS
Casey will be bringing me in shortly to fix my head...
If it works I won't be on too much...
Pray for the coma...

  1. You are exactly right!!! I was watching them cry this morning also and although being a mom I feel bad about the seperation, they should have thought about this long ago. I guess I sorta feel bad for the women though because they have been raised in this (most of them) and are brainwashed themselves. I watched interviews with the "lost boys" from them the other day and they were talking about how they are taught very young to be afraid of things and feared the powerful men. They are also taught to be fearful of the oustiders (us), thus preventing some from getting help, but they think this is normal and okay. They have no tv's in these compounds or any way for them to know what's in the outside world. They said kids didn't even know what crayons were. They also have teenage boys guarding the property on 4 wheelers to prevent the insiders from trying to escape and get out. So I guess I'm not laying complete blame on these women, most of them are victims themselves that have just grown up. So freakin' sad, I have wondered for a long time how the laws couldn't touch them, knowing what's happening in these places. Hopefully this is the beginning of ending it all.

  2. Mornin Bart,
yes I am sneaking some puter time at work as I wait for the interview processes to begin. I couldnt argree more about those folks.. they know poligamy is illegal yet they still practice.

What astounded me more than anything was.... the mothers may or may not be raising her own child.. the children dont even know who their mother is and when they left with the children staying with them the men from the cult (yes I believe its a cult) told them to go back to the compound the women handed their children off and went back. Even women who were breast feeding. Now I ask what kind of mother does that?

As to pedifiles.. I have no sympathy! None! Nada! Zip!
I taught my sons that under 18 was jail bait... where were this guys parents teaching him the difference between right and wrong.

Sorry your head is being nasty... I hope you feel better soon!

    Beep luvs Bart!

  3. Oh don't get me started. You know my situation and while I can no longer discuss it in a public forum I can say that cults can be much more destructive than other wrong doing because of the brain washing and fear building they use as glue to keep control. If only there were more ability for the government to stop them, but then you get into religious freedoms...etc...
The people/men who ran this one should be severely punished....I mean SEVERELY......just sayin...

  4. My feelings about these people...[insert excessive amounts of extreme vulgar profanity here]. That's my opinion.

The kids are raised and brainwashed into this cult...darn few manage to escape. That however is no excuse for what is going on.

  5. I so agree with Connie. We taught our sons about the dangers of 'dating' younger girls, however OLD they looked! They listened, they learned!

Children learn from the good or bad example of their parents (in this case, a load of adults!). What the adults do, they will copy. What the adults ask of them, or allow, the children will do - whether right or wrong. And worse, they'll think it's acceptable behaviour (a type of brainwashing if you like to think of it that way).

It's frightening, and it's abuse in it's nastiest form, because the children don't know they're being abused.

  6. Anne, I agree with you about the parents. They have undoubtedly brought their children into a bad situation and they have more than likely done it knowingly. However, I feel sorry for the children. Not saying they should have stayed in such a situation, but that lifestyle is how they were raised, thus it is normal to them. I can't imagine the hardships they will face as they are thrust into our definition of normal society. Torn from their parents for reasons they probably don't understand...The children are truly the victims here.

  7. Sweet Tonya;
There are way too many of these so-called mothers who were not raised exclusively within this sect. Many have just joined after absconding from their 'normal' lives. And really, there are no excuses for the rest of them either...
They HAVE to talk between themselves. After all, their men are not with them 24/7/365.

You are right. Any possible way that we can look at this, it is so damned sad.

    XOXO

  8. Sweet Connie!
    Cheater! (hehehe)...

I am SO with you on your definition of "cult"...

I did not read, ad nauseam, about this all, and did not hear about not raising your own child...
But I have been WITH the Texas Justice who had the stones to call for DNA tests on everyone.

A sad twist to "Who's Your Daddy?" isn't it?
And then move down a generation or two. And I wonder how many cases of incest there is when a child/person does not even know what their rols in the family is...
(Can't go there. It boggles my mind and sickens my heart).

Completely 'with' you on the pedophile definition too!

As far as my head goes...
I do vaguely remember being home. Casey asking for a shopping list.
Later I kinda/sorta remember hearing the noise going off as we were hit by T~Storm after T~Storm... Gladly I had this headache and was treated for it, and don't even remember but a few cracks of thunder from the heavens...
I know too that Randy was here...
    The toilet seat was up!
    hehehe

    XOXO

  9. Sweet BethieBaby!
I am heartless. And never once did the thought cross my mind that I would be responsible for evoking such bad thoughts...
    My most sincerest of apologies.

There should be no religious freedoms, EVER, where the safety of our children begins/ends. Because it is NOT religion (none that I know of anyway), that permits our babies to be subjected to all of this.

I am with you on the SEVERELY too.

    Love to all.

    XOXO
    Anne

I agree with you, wholeheartedly, but we can't discount that, as well as greed, lust and physical illness; fear, in excess, can alter ones mind beyond imaginaton."
    end quote...

The reader has also posted that fear is so responsible for much.
You are right hough; it still does not cover this abuse.

  11. Dear Mrs. G.;
I believe the children, regardless of their ages, need to know this poem, and what followed.

    Children Learn What They Live
    By Dorothy Law Nolte

If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy.
If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy.
If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance, they learn patience.
If children live with praise, they learn appreciation.
If children live with acceptance, they learn to love.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with recognition, they learn it is good to have a goal.
If children live with sharing, they learn generosity.
If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect.
If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them.
If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place in which to live.

  12. Sweet Cristy!
See above poem for Mrs. G.
That said, they still are not aware of who their own parents are.
And yes, they will learn to feel safe within where ever they may wind up.
Or at least the najority of them will. (Sadly their are foster people that do not know the definition of "care" too)...
Yes, the children ARE quite obviously the victims.
Children DO learn to adapt too. And we HAVE to believe that they will adapt to the real U.S. of A..
