[My] Life in Wisconsin

Long, Busy Weeks

Long, Busy Weeks

What kind of flowers/plant is this?
On a bush here magnify

.
.
Good Morning All;

It has been a while... Sorry about that...
~I have been trying to stay current on your own news though... (Key word is "trying").

As many of you already know, (and after many prayers, trials and tribulations), Casey and Greg found an apartment. She will now be able to get that referral to Mayo for her pancreatitis.
They moved in on Saturday past. They are lacking a couch and a few chairs, but I have sent them with a few odds~n~ends from here.

We had a great enough 'move' day- interspersed with a few "noisy" showers, mostly sunshine though.

My yard looked like a used car lot for most of the day too.
.
.

My own car being in the front yard.
Easier to load these cars up right out the front door.
.
.

Sputnik looking out at my car,
wondering what in the meow is going on out there anyway?
? ? ?
Oh does anyone know what kind of flowers those are?
Lynn had brought them up to Casey in the hospital.
Said they had some really long stems too.

.
.
I figured as long as I had some decent backs around the place that it was high time to change a few things inside. I have been wanting to paint the living/dining room for over a year now, having the paint all ready to go.
.
.

.
.
But first to get that old Hamilton upright piano moved.
The trick is to keep it upright!
hehehe
Thanks to better backs than mine, (namely Greg, Buck, and Randy), the piano is now upon the east wall of the living room.
That 29 feet sure was a LONG way to go...
(Pardon my mess)...

Casey and Greg are still unpacking...
.
Who knew the upstairs closet could hold so much?
.
.

Yes, that closet runs the entire length of the house.
(And those are just a few of her empty hangers).
"Clothes hog"

.
.
So while Casey and Greg have been unpacking, I have been painting.
I am about 3/4's done with the front room. (And hopefully can finish today).

Since I do not allow stray hair in my paint, the cat gets shut in the bathroom while Punk goes outside.
.
.

Poor baby!
.
.
During one of those showers on Saturday she got stuck outside too.
(She didn't shrink)...
But she was a bit miffed when she came back inside.
.
.

How dare we leave her out in the elements ???
hehehe

.
.
I'd better close and restart for the day...
Showers/storms might be in the forecast for this afternoon, so I might have a few dogs and a cat hanging around if it gets nasty.
Thank god paint dries faster than it did when I was young(er).

Have a great day!

XOXO
Anne

PS...
Is anyone else having a problem with Yahoo! (besides the obvious)?
For the past few days I am not receiving as much mail as I am used to, the spam filter that they (claim to) have is allowing every weird thing into my inbox; even the IM thing takes forever to come back at me. My bookmarks do not load into either my Y! browser of the Mozilla firefox... (I have them all saved on my top page, and can still access them from there).
Mostly, I am missing the newsy notes and funny jokes y'all send me...

  2. Congrats to Casey and Greg....I am glad this will help Casey's qualifying for the help she needs.
Is your back really healed enough for you to be taking on such tasks? I worry about you, woman!!!
Punk looks purdy in the green grass....and she even got a shower...awwwwwwwww :)

I am answer-less....I do not know what the flowers are and I have no explanation for yahoo...cept, my own email is working fine....fingers crossed it stays that way.

    Love to YOU!!

  3. The flowers look like some kind of daisy or maybe large zinnias. Not for sure though.

Glad to hear the Casey and Greg found a place. Now maybe she will be able to get the help she desperately needs.

  4. oh, sorry...the flowers at the top of your blog look like they maybe some kind of begonia...again not for sure. the little purple ones in the other pic are the ones i was talking about in my last comment.

  5. Peones. Perhaps just prettys. We mustn't take all the mystery out of life.

  6. The dark pink flowers at the top look like Azaleas, and the light purple flowers look like some sort of Chrysanthemum.

Punk's fur looks frizzy from being out in the rain - an easy way to get a bath!

I love the photo of Sputty looking out the window.

Fantastic news about Casey and Greg getting into their apartment - and being able to get into Mayo too. Finally! - This has been a long time coming!

When you're done painting your living room... wanna come paint mine? LOL! You think you have it tough with fur from a dog and a cat - try fur from FOUR cats!

  7. A closet that runs the ENTIRE length of the house?! Now I know where the rest of my closet went...to a farm in Wisconsin!

Overjoyed Casey and Greg have the much needed apartment. Onward to Mayo and upward with the help she needs.

Think the guys would come to my place and move some furniture so I could do a more thorough cleaning then do some much needed painting?

Problems with Yahoo!? You must be joking...you are aren't you. Problems there...I'm soooo shocked. Dumbfounded even. All sarcasm aside...YES! No problems with my bookmarks as I use IE...Y!'s browser left my system when I did last year and FF? Well, won't go there. IE7 works just fine for me...well as long as Macrospit is cooperating that is.

No idea about the flowers other than they are pretty.

Running behind today...have one of the dreaded migraines.

  8. Sweet Bug!
Ok, I lied. The closet runs the length of the house... minus 7 feet.
    (22' still should be enough).
As for me (AND YES, I AM A GIRL), I could care less.
Guess that's why Casey used all the hangers up!
    hehehe

  9. Sweet BethieBaby!
    Awwwww yourself!
(Punkie WAS really soft on Sunday)!
Please don't worry about me. I'll be fine.
All this and have been fighting off a h/a since Friday, so no big deal. Damned thing.

    My back?
    Naw. It's fine.
I never did like painting the ceilings though...
    hehehe
And besides, WHO ELSE is gonna do it if I don't???
Kinda like shoveling snow and mowing lawn.
    (Yeah, I'd rather be mowing)!

    XOXO

  10. Sweet Pam!
Not sure about the zinnias. I thought so too, but I have zinnias. (They grow kind of wild round here).
AND I also have double zinnias... Just not quite right.
Maybe too, it;s the color that is throwing me off.

    HOWS YOUR MOUTH???

  11. You again!
    (Me again too).
    hehehe

Do begonias grow on a bush?
The picture IS misleading though. The flowers are maybe only an inch or two across.
    Hmmm...

    XOXO
    Guess Who?

  13. Sweet RT!
What the heck is an azalemum?
Maybe that's what we should call them?
    hehehe

Oh, that dog was soaking wet! (And would have stayed out even longer if the next storm hadn't come along when it did).

Sputnik had NO idea what the heck was going on. He tried escaping my little zoo three times. And was then put in the bathroom. (No escape there unless he uses the clothes chute)!

I would LOVE to paint your living room.
Please send it as soon as possible.

    XOXO

  14. Sweet Cat;
    This is too funny!

    But I abhor IE 7...

    Maybe it hates me too.
    hehehe

FF works beautifully WHEN IT WANTS TO.
And Yahoo is a modified version of IE anyway

And I have NO notification of any of these comments. NOR do I see when y'all post anything new.
    Worked a few days ago.
And yes, I have checked/rechecked all of my stupid settings.

    XOXO

  16. Hiya Bart!

Ok so which flower are you referring to? The purple or the red... not that I have a clue on either one..hehe

The red really resembles a hibiscus but I think most of the time blooms are larger than just 2 inches across... but it does make a bush like thing. Although I really dont think they would handle your winter well at all.

I really need to empty out my living room here in Texas and give it the cleaning from you know were... A paint job wouldnt hurt it at all either. Neither of which are likely to happen anytime soon.

A closet that spans the house.. oh my goodness.. Im sure glad I dont have one of those.. You would never be able to get into it.. it would end up being the catch all of all catch alls. Im bad about stuff like that. Although what a great storage spot.

I know Casey is happy to get into her own place with Greg.. Thats very exciting ya know!

Poor Punk.. No she really doesnt look too happy..hehe You mean ol' mom you! hehe Just explain to her that the clean rain is really good for the complexion..hehe

I tend to use both IE 7 and FF.. both work fine for me.. At the house in Arkansas on that computer I use FF because it doesnt use as much memory and lets the computer work faster. Its a very old computer with lots of issues. I avoid Yahoo as much as possible.. I dont even like the search engines it has.... and 360 is just pathetic these days!

Just work work work all the time..hehe Glad you are feeling well enough to do it all!

    Hugs

  18. Glad for Casey! Good that you're able to get your painting done. Hope EVERYTHING starts going well for you. God knows, you deserve it! XOXO,Me.

  19. Sweet Beep!

    You are TOO funny!

When you start your living room DO NOT CLEAN before you paint.
That way, any smudges, drips, etc will be that much easier to remove. (Even a fine layer of dust will make it easier to remove).
If you're like me, all you want to do is finish the damn job and get on with your life. This allows fr the drips to 'set'.
I also do not scrub my floor beforehand.
I see that there is about 40 years of wax build up on it. I shall scrub it, and replace a few tiles, but God only knows the 'new' tiles will be 40 shades brighter/cleaner. Oh well.

The closet upstairs IS a catchall.
So is the backroom, AND its closet.
So is the big old closet in my room.
So are the spare bedrooms now.
    hehehe

Casey and Greg are BOTH thrilled. And still unpacking. (Must be all those dang clothes).
Happy they have their own washer/dryer because now i don't have to do those clothes!
    hehehe
    Bad mom, eh?

    Love to you both!

  20. YAY!
    Thank you Richard!
I looked it up, and sure enough that is exactly what that picture is!

Now what are the purple ones???

What about the one outside the window by Punk? (That 'thing' came up on its own, and blossomed out SO pretty)!

    Painting is kinda/sorta done.

  21. I have absolutely no idea. I don't want to wake Amanda, I think she has school tomorrow. Glad to be of service somehow. What's left, mostly the cleanup, huh. hehehe. XOXO,Me.

  22. I've seen the purple flower around here a few times but don't remember what they're called.

So, you haven't received anything over there huh? Well, I'll just delete the invitations and try again...don't worry, you aren't the only one. Wretched place, but I still like it. We must be gluttons for punishment.

  23. Definately Azalea flowers on the top of your page. Wilmington NC used to have an azalea festival and there were tons of them growing thru out the state of NC the 10 years I lived there. I must warn you tho if you are thinking of planting some that they are the awefulist (? new word?) looking bushes when not in bloom. I yanked out one from my yard because it was hideous looking except for one week out of the year.
So glad for your news about Casey. I have been praying for her! Our little friend James in NC who has the same affliction is doing much better.
Your pets are adorable, loved the "what the meow" comment. lol. Have a great week!

  24. I'm happy to hear that Casey and Greg moved into their apartment and she's able to now get medical care. And painting?! I was supposed to start painting our house this summer, but now it's up for sale. We might still manage to slap a coat on the outside, but it'll just depend on how busy we are with moving. There's only 4 houses for sale in this stupid town, so it might mean we can sell it quick!

  25. I am so glad that we were able to get everything done on those two days that we had. I'm going to blog about that soon, I just have a little bit of settling in to do at the new place. Almost done though...

Poor Soggy Doggy Punkie! :D She was so confused that day. She didn't know whether to stay inside and avoid the rain or to stay outside to avoid the people lugging boxes... She was VERY good though...

Alright, I'm going back to my jello... :D

    Love you much much!
    ~Casey
