[My] Life in Wisconsin

Post~Fire... and more

In a not~so~good way,
FLINTVILLE, Wisconsin was on the map!
hehehe
.
.

Good Afternoon All;
Late(r) today as I tried to catch up on blogs I might have missed.
Did I miss you?
Let me know, and I shall do my level best tonight to be catching up with you. (Those of you still on Y! 360, please know that I cannot navigate anywhere within that site).

On the Good News side, Casey is out of the hospital. We had three new prescriptions to fill and went out to Oneida Pharmacy.

While she waited for those, I entertained Punk by throwing and old water bottle for a game of 'fetch'...

She found out the hard way that water~logged grass is a bit dangerous...
.
.

A little uncut gully,
and she went ass over teakettles
twice
!
...
.
.

She even made me go rescue her!
(Casey had just come out of the pharmacy;
thinking quite like her mama to grab the camera).
.
.

.
Once again, I really believe this dog wants to be a black lab...
.
.

Yes, I have to scrub those leather seats yet.
,

,

Everything is so very water~logged and flooded yet...
.
.
Including The Fox River...
..
.

The ditches...

.
.

.
.
.
And even the cornfields too.
.
.

Yes that IS a cornfield...
QUACK!

.
.
.
The cleanup continues down at Kelli's ...
Tim had brought his rig home and had slept in it the night of the fire; not wanting to have any problems with anyone that might be snooping around...
.
.

It made for a place to set your buns to take a little break yesterday.
Kelli, with Mr. Miller.
I'd taken him in to Dr. Spires-
He has an ear infection. (NOT Dr. Spires)...
And he has a skin infection. (No, not the doctor)...
But all will be well with Mr. Miller in short order
(and THAT'S some good news too)!

.
.
Kelli stopped by this morning... With Mr. Miller!
hehehe
.
.
.

Miller says HI!
OK, so I took the picture yesterday...
It still fits.
.
.

And it is way past time for me to get moving around here...

I hope you are all having a fine weekend!

XOXO
Anne

PS  Our forecast?
This from WBAY...

Good morning Anne,
We're watching a swirling area of low pressure along the U.S.-Canadian border.
It will likely trigger afternoon t'storms for both today and Sunday. There will be a risk of a few strong storms with hail and high winds. Any weekend thunderstorms may bring some localized heavy rains, which could cause water levels in flooded areas to rise again...

Sheesh, Ya think???

  2. I love the picture of Mr Miller in the car. It looks like he's saying " I'm going for a ride in the car & you're not !! Nanananabooboo!! " Or whatever dogs say in that situation!

  3. I'm so glad Casey is home from the hospital - Yea! Sounds like you're in for round 2 in the weather department - be safe.

  4. Wow! I wish I could send you some of our warm, dry weather. The boys want to go swimming this afternoon...it's not really that warm, and the water is still really cold, but they don't care. It's summer vacation and they want to swim. Glad to hear Casey is home, and that Mr. Miller sure is a cutie pie!

  5. Good afternoon Bart!

I got a good chuckle from Punk going ass over tea kettles.. just too funny!

Im glad to hear Ms Casey got out of that nasty hospital.. are the beans seeming to work? does she take them all the time or just when shes feeling pain? Or is that all the time? Geez I dont know how she copes so well with it all!

Nikki says Mr Miller is a hunk! hehe (little hussy!)

You found a quackfield! hehe Is this where they grow quacks? Ask Casey she would know..hehe

Hows that river out behind your place? Hopefully its not anywheres close to getting to you guys.

Have a dry and safe evening!

  6. My brother says up in Elkhorn it looks bad in the cornfields--I feel so dreadful for the poor farmers--the price of cereal and grains and milk will continue its upward climb-So gld Casey is out of the hospital will continue my prayer vigils for her and you and your "black" lab and menagerie--Hope Mr. Willie's ear infection clears up as those can be quite tricky to clear up and he looks like he could dhake it out with the best of em! Do they still put Betadine in the mix of liquid stuff you put in the ears?? I remeber from the years at the vet clinicI used to work at!LOL
Take care sweeties--and have I told You--I hate RAIN, lately??
PS the tents are gone! love, Geege-

If I would have let her out of the car, i am sure that is exactly what she wuld have done too. I actually took that picture on the way to get a shot for my head.
Sad, and funny, at the same time...

Your dogs called. They said they don't care how freezie the water is either. They just want to go swimming with the boys!

  13. Sweet Connie!
I laughed at Punks antics too.
(AND I still have to go clean out my dang car)!

Casey DOES actually have pain all the time. Just that some days are worse than others. When she maintains a "10" pain for a while is when she will generally go in.

Mr. Miller might eat Nikki for a snack!
But he said to tell ya that he does like the way she pants!
    hehehe

Sad too. I have not been back to the river for quite a while. But as I drive to Suamico, there it is, running alongside the road at points, and very very high.

  14. Sweet Beena!
You are right to feel bad for these farmers. There is just too much loss this year.
(Rough for us too, as we will pay the price later for these veggies that didn't make it).

They use a derivative of gentamycin for the drops in the pups ears now.
That and the cloves i use on Punk.
    hehehe
But hey, it makes her smell yummy!

    I hate rain too.
But only for a little while please.

    XOXO

  16. HAHAHAHHAA! I couldn't stop laughing at the photo of Miss Punkie playing rollie-pollie across the bank! That was so funny - and she STILL came up smiling!!!!!

Then Miller sticking his tongue out at you LOL!

I tell you Anne, the doggy's I've met round here just don't have the same character at all!

    Hugs xxxx

  19. Sweet Mrs. G.

Miss Punk came up smiling because she never has to worry about who the heck is going to clean up the mess!

Mr. Miller is also freakin' hilarious.

And about the dogs by you?
Maybe because those dogs don't ever get out to play?
    That's so sad.
Dogs are simply furpeople. And are to be treated as such too.

    XOXO

  25. I shall be the Queen Mum of Big Bottoms!!
My Dad had a 57 Indian Cherry Red---he was in an accident with it before he joined the National Guard Infantry and went off into the war--it got fixed and his brother drove it all ove and then sOLD it for 300 dollars!!! Wish he still had it! Hmm that's not too far--if Gary doesn't come maybe we can meet up? My Mom is wanting to get outta town--and Gary has been swamped with calls (he's an insurance adjuster for Farmer's Ins.) and well--to say the least he is bone tired--poor lad--getting overtime galore and not loving it!
