Probiotics May Be Harmful For Patients With Acute Pancreatitis

http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/97757.php

Anybody following Casey's pancreatitis?

Here is one quote from that story:
"Probiotics are associated with increased mortality and do not actually reduce the risk of additional infection, according to an article published on February 14, 2008 in The Lancet."

Casey has a doctor appointment at 11:30 this AM. She has been having such a miserable time...
And now I must go throw out all the yogurts...

XOXO
Anne

  1. Keep her away from the yogurt, you eat it or ship it to me.

  2. Caseys tests came back OK.
All within normal range; HIGH normal but well.
Indicative of she is either just getting OVER an attack, or is at the beginning of a new one.

  4. Wow--Will continue to pray for sweet Casey--Gotta have 6 more vial drawn on Monday for the Hematologist to study--they took 17 last Tuesday--She believes there's an iron-bonding problem with my thyroid out of whack,too---AND they abated my basement for a mercury spill--and had to take out my coal bin and coal room in my 100 yr old abode--The main floor was okay--but then it rained and we got rain thru that very room and so they painted the entire lower level after bagging my stuff in large plastic bags--ALL baby stuff was moved by them to above my hayloft/garage--they even offered to put my A/C unit in for me! LOL--
Probiotics are for intestinal regularity, correct? like all those new yogurts--?
That poor darlin...you have a good weekend, headin out to Kelly's for mexican & to celebrate 17 years of bliss--yes, bliss---LOL
BIG HUGS coming to you--still sending orange energy balls and periwinkle orbs of peace--Love, Geege

  5. ALL YOGURTS HAVE PROBIOTICS IN THEM, unless they are not really yogurts.

    Abated your basement???
    WTH does THAT mean???
    Mercury?
    Where did that come from?
Should I be worried about my own basement now?

Wish someone would have put my AC in today too!
    hehehe
    XOXO

  6. The mercury was probably "historic" but not sure when the guy soaped the new pipe whether it was defective--so, they put a new one in and then it rained thru the room and may have spread to the rest of the basement--they are going to heat my basement on Thurs to 85 and then the vapors will--if any are present --either dissipate or they suck them out, I guess--The liquid mercury is only toxic or poisonous if drank or absorbed in gallons--the vapors are inhaled like asbestos and can be fatal--but alas are invisible--unless you use a gieger or tox gun to read the levels--ALL packrat stuff was removed and placed in bags and tested--i cannot find anything! But my basement is so shiny and gray! LOL---Has the Gas Company called you or ever replaced the regulator????
No, I told them Gary would do it--there's still a breeze and it's the cats favorite window to be in--so we always wait till we are dying to put it in there--it's a HUGE unit--I bought one for the kitchen last year or you pass out doing dishes!XOX--Gina

  8. Anne one thing I have found over the yrs is that Jama and Lancet often popoo natural methods such as probiotics cause it hurts the medical professions profits...I'd find some sources to ck that are not strictly standard medicine oriented...I use my doctors as they are quite progressive and MD's.

  9. Thank You Sweetie;
I find TOO many doctors (MD's etc), that poopoo the holistic meds, the old ways. Slowly but surely it IS changing...
If they were to get behind this movement, they would undoubtedly lose patients.
I have a Chiropractor and a Neonatologist for brothers in law, and a sister who runs a Natural Foods Store.
They are all capable and WAAAAAY bright too. The time has passed for all doctors to embrace the others teachings.
We have to stay on them to make sure all get these little snippets of information
Looking for wellness, we can learn so much.
This entry was only for the pancreatitis sufferers, so no problems there.
