- This is what I woke up to Saturday morning..
WAY too early for these temps...
.
Good Morning, (in a very literal sense);
Did the title bring back a song to your mind?
I had to run to town today. Dog food, (and a few groceries for me too). When I take my Xanax to go anywhere, it always leaves me so completely exhausted when I get back home. I came home, ate a bite, and slept for 3 hours. Probably needed it though, as I'd woken up about midnight last... and stayed up.
Here it is, middle of the night once more, and I am wide~eyed and bushy~tailed.
Speaking of tails... (Let's go with "white" tails). This is the first weekend of (gun) deer hunting in Wisconsin. I am under strict orders to make some venison sloppy joes, some roasts, and some steaks.
(Yeah, but first I need to see the darned venison)!
hehehe
Gee; how come Randy didn't see the humor in that?
And so, the dogs are fit to be tied. There will be no trips to the woods, and very little running around outside for the next ten days. Safer that way.
.
.
Some 300+ pounds of pooches here..
And they think I can just reach over them and open that door?
And yes, there IS a pecking order. (Me first).
hehehe
Because they have learned that I cannot run in three directions at once; I have learned now that one, (and only one), of them goes out at a time.
(So there).
Casey had an appointment on Wednesday afternoon to discuss her transplant procedure with her doctor at the clinic. This went extraordinarily well. And finally to have one doctor in town up to speed about this all. He has spoken at length with Dr. Sutherland in Minnesota. Kinda nice to talk to a doctor that is at least briefed on the surgery. As you know, we have dealt with some highly ignorant doctors.
Not all their fault either because the standard rule of thumb (anywhere); is to treat the pancreatic pain, in the hopes that each attack will be the last.
We all know it hasn't happened that way for Casey, and that her attacks just keep steamrolling on her- Closer between attacks, and more painful each time.
Her Fentanyl 50 µg/h do seem to do a nice job keeping her pain down to a more manageable level; though she still must take the vicoden for her breakthrough pain.
Onward to December 18th
She came out to the house after her appointment. Punk wanting to ride back home with her.
Mr Miller stayed in my little truck with me.
Miller didn't pay any attention, (not knowing where Punk had gone to). But check out Punk as Casey was following me down 54.
.
.
.
Mirror shot.
.
When I'd fallen asleep earlier, I had not yet let Miss Milly back inside for the night. She was even a bit upset with me for that...
...She wanted her dinner and a bit of "liquified" water.
Well, OOPS.
She is much happier now.
Time for me to close, and maybe steal a few more Zzz's.
Have a 'wunnaful' Sunday!
XOXO
Anne
Another Saturday Night...,

I have never had venison.... But I would surely try some venison sloppy joes.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that things seem to be falling into place for Casey and her surgery. Glad too that her doctor there seems to be treating her more as a person and not an illness...
Punkie is looking like she's thinking, "Hey! That's my 'she' up there! Hurry up! We gotta catch up to her!" LOL Too cute!
Hope you're having a good weekend!
Love Ya,
Slackin' Slurkie ;-)
I'm so glad to hear that Casey's doctors (at home) are starting to treat her with some respect, due to her upcoming surgery. About freakin time!!
ReplyDeleteThe photo of Casey and Punk following you is hilarious! I was looking at the picture and was wondering how in the heck Punk could be in the driver's seat and Casey in the passenger seat... I looked at it, and looked at it... and then I scrolled down just enough to see "Mirror shot" - you got me good!!
Temps here have been real low for November too. It was 12° when I got in my car to come home from work this morning. I don't usually see temps that low until Jan or Feb. So, if it's 12° now what are the temps gonna to be in Jan and Feb?
How long is hunting season up there? It seems to me our season runs through most of winter (several months).
Hey Slackie Slurkie!
ReplyDeleteYou're still up! (Did you nap too)?
We were at a stoplight when I took those pics- (Had to take a bunch to get one that turned out too). She just kept looking at my car. Funny!
You may certainly have some v~slops, although v~chops are good too.
And no one believes this either, when I say you will NOT know you are eating venison when I cook it.
(That is, unless they have HAD my venison in the first place).
XOXO
Me
Sweet RT!
ReplyDeleteGun deer hunting is only until a week from Sunday. Bow season is from September through the end of the year, with no bows during gun season.
I had a problem with those pics too, and couldn't figure out how come they were bassackwards either.
Then the little light bulb went off, and I remembered the rear view mirror.
I thought I had messed with the settings on the camera. (I do this on a regular basis and mess up plenty of shots).
The weather... Maybe I should be glad I won't be paying for normal heat this winter. (When I am at the hotel I can set the thermostat as high as I want, right)? Well as long as Punk doesn't start panting...
hehehe
But we should be back home by February too. (I damn sure hope so)! Then I shall have to shovel... ugh...
I had to go double check the weather... They say tomorrow maybe we will hit 40's, but that Sunday night and into Monday will be snow.
XOXO
Me
I am so glad Casey's appointment went so well. THAT is music to my ears : )
ReplyDeleteI am fond of venison jerky....but would gladly try any form you make. I am sure it doesnt taste gamey when done right, and you seem to know what you are doing (wink).
Why did you have Mr Miller? I must have missed something.
Snuggle up with those pooches today and keep warm.
Our annual Christmas Festival is this weekend. We froze our buns off there friday night.
Sweet BethieBaby;
ReplyDeleteSorry- You caught me! Picture was taken Thursday morning, Kelli drops him off in the morning.
See? Now doesn't this freezing stuff seem early to you too? At least we get cold in Novembers, but sheesh, with a low of 8 and only a high of 23, RT is right, that is January crap.
Maybe come January and February we will all be wanting to have it BE 8 degrees.
And yet, Spring is only 4 months away! ~?
XOXO
Me
How does your heating system keep things warm for those frigid temps? I remember waking up to ice on the walls INSIDE the house when I was younger. And one of those times was long after I had gotten married. My hubby was surprised to see ice on the wall above the bed. And yes....that was here in Alabama. It occasionally dips that low here. Not anywhere near as often as it does there no doubt.
ReplyDeleteYou guys drive on the right side of the car up in Wisconsin or is that Punk doing the driving? Hehehehe.....those mirror images will get ya every time....hehehehehe!
I know Casey will be so glad when she gets some relief for all this constant pain. I do hope, for her sake, that this transplant will change things for the better for her.
hehee.... funny how Milly is an inside dog when she wants to be.
ReplyDeleteI love the "dog is my copilot" shot!
Glad to hear Casey is finally getting some much needed understanding and looking forward to december!
Truely a thankgiving to be thankful for!
Not sure how to answer that Sweet PeachieBaby;
ReplyDeleteBut as long as it keeps things warmish I shall not try to question it all.
Methinks it has to do with storm windows and insulation too.
I don't think I have ever seen ice on the inside of the walls though, not in my homes anyway.
SOMETHING would HAVE to be done if there was.
I have seen it on the outside barn walls, but ONLY when it got really cold.
With the cows in there, and the temps would go way below zero, we just didn't turn the exhaust fans on those nights. So every now and then we would see ice.
NOT IN A HOUSE THOUGH.
Good thing you have moved since then.
XOXO
Me
Sweet Splat!
ReplyDeleteMilly is getting up there. And will be inside at Kelli's when we leave. She needs a bit of "weatherization" I suppose. hehehe
Got anything crossed?
XOXO
Me
ReplyDeleteTime to go cook something now...
XOXO
me
Got lots of things crossed.
ReplyDeleteMilly is one smart cookie. and I love the face she is making in the picture.
Glad to know that Miss Kelli will be looking out for her while you are gone. Mr Miller won't be lonely then.
xoxoxox
Splat
hehehe
ReplyDeleteMiss Milly would go crazy too!
And yes, i will miss her.
Right now she is letting the hunters know (20 acres away) that they are not supposed to be there.
"Good Milly"
...and I just let her bark.
XOXO
Me
So what did ya cook????
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm nosey...
And hungry too! LOL
Love Ya,
Slackin Slurkie
ReplyDeleteV~Slops!
(Jenny Mella had gotten a deer, and brought over some fresh meat last month)!
Come have some...
*cries*
ReplyDeleteMy teleporter is broken or I would have been there already! LOL
That sounds SO good! My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
give me a few minutes...
ReplyDeletehehehe
Evenin Rock!
ReplyDeleteGlad your finally getting doctors talking to each other and finally doing something too..
Love the shots of the pups looking at each other.. makes ya wonder if they are making faces at each other..hehe
Glad Miss Milly is deciding to come inside.. I bet as she gets older she will decide to come in more often. and good for her barking at those hunters.. I know its scary having them too close to the house.
Yeah on the venison... mmmmmm good stuff!
Have a great week!
beepluvsrock.com
hmmm
ReplyDeletepictures?
or are u fixin' my teleporter?
hehehe
ReplyDeleteDo you want just a plain sloppy joe?
.
Or maybe an open~faced plain one with a pickle?
.
Maybe you would like some parmesan and sour cream too?
.
But you'd better grab it fast, cuz the whole pot is going outside to cool off!
.
Oh yeah... It's REALLY good too!
XOXO
Me
Yes please!! (Can I get a pickle with that?)
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so yummy!
Ooh Sweet Beep;
ReplyDeleteYou folks will have to come over for a bite too! (Though it probably doesn't hold a candle to your Thanksgiving spreads).
Those darn dogs... i think you're right, they were probably annoying the heck out of each other!
Milly is a poop. (Just like her daughter). hehehe
XOXO
me
RockLuvsBeep.com
ReplyDeleteOh and it is Sweet RT!

;-)
OooOOOooo!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll take parmy and sour cream and a pickle too!!!
*drools*
*cries*
Dangitallanyway!
Why can't I live closer???
Don't be surprised if one of these days I do come knocking at your door. I don't think the dogs would even bark at me when I walk up to the door 'cause we all already know each other (c;
ReplyDeleteOk SloppySlurkie,
ReplyDeleteKwitchercryin' already...
I told ya you could move in for Pete's sake. Just don't forget the snow shovel.
XOXO
me
Friends don't knock Sweetie, they just come right in.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Me
Oh and if you bring some treats along Punk will probably let you in!
hehehe
"ARF"
Randall shall shovel and I will supervise as I enjoy my sloppy joe...
ReplyDeleteOr should we call it a sloppy jane?
hehehe
I wanna move in too! But I hate shoveling snow - can I stay inside? I can cook and clean instead!!
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteWho the heck is Jane? And does she shovel???
ReplyDeleteYou may move in.
As you can tell, housekeeping is NOT one of my strong suits so you may clean as much as you like.
hehehe
Good news about Casey. How did the term bushy tail come to be?
ReplyDeleteHi Mommy!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how cold it is already... Good thing I am not sick anymore, or else the boogers would freeze in my nose when I went outside. That is one of the weirdest feelings in the world! Those of you who live in the warmer climates have no idea what this feeling is and are probably laughing at me, but it does happen! That, and the freezing of the hair if you take a shower but don't dry your hair before heading outside. (Which, by the way, does NOT make you sick unless you already have a bug...) And more useless trivia...
You napped for three hours? COOL! Hopefully you can catch up for all the times that you were woken in the middle of the night! I tend to be sleeping more now after getting those immunizations! If you want some real nice sleep, just get four immunizations at once, your body doesn't know what the heck hit it and you'll be out like a rock for a while... I feel like a zombie... Hopefully I recover from that soon. I didn't get sick at all, but then again, you can't get sick directly from the injections as the nurse explained. Rather if you have a dormant 'bug' it will seek its way to the front while your immune system is fighting off the injections. Good to know. I really didn't want flu, pneumonia, H.I.B., and meningitis. :D
That photo of the dogs is hilarious!! Punk looks like she is about to cross her legs if she doesn't get out soon, Milly is taking a serious nap, and Miller is pretending to sniff around so he can sneak out first! Crazy commotion!!! I don't blame you for not being able to run three directions at once. I tried that once, and ended up breaking a blood vessel under my skin because I ran into a door frame, but that's another story...
I am glad the consultation appointment went well. It is such a relief to have a doctor who is willing to explain everything about this and be so informative as well. He seems to be really patient too, which is a trait you don't see very much. The Fentanyl is 50 ug/hr, and it seems to be working, but these past couple of days have been iffy with break-through pain. Not sure what that means, but I'm hanging in there until the transplant. It is not that far away, but it sure feels like it some days...
The photo, or potato, of me following you looks like Punkie is driving!! It took a reminder from you that it is taken in the mirror to correct this thinking! Otherwise that trip wouldn't have gone as smoothly as it did. I don't think she can reach the pedals! :D
Milly is getting soft already? Normally it is a LONG time from now before it's cold enough, and she is already complaining... She must not be as tolerant anymore as she used to be, or she is fine and just wants to be inside so she pretends to be cold! :D It's a canine conspiracy!
Hopefully you got to finally steal some Zzzz's, when I talked with you, you had been online all day. Unless you were sleep-surfing, I think you didn't rest until later. I hope you are snoozing successfully now! You should sleep well after those sloppy joes! They look WONDERFULLY DELICIOUS!!! Mmmmm... I might have to steal some of those later on!
Love you Much Much!!!
~Casey
Who told you about my bushy tail????
ReplyDeleteMy secret is out....
Must be that canine conspiracy...
Funny.... I thought it was Milly's squinched up face that looked like the pee-pee dance....
ReplyDeleteYou're not SICK anymore????
ReplyDelete(Everyone say "yay")...
ReplyDeleteThis is not useless Sweet MoBo.
It is an old wives tale that need repudiating.
Water, and/or cold temps do NOT make you sick.
If that were true, babies would not stand a chance.
ReplyDeleteThankfully I also napped last night so as NOT to bear witness to the sad Monday night Packers game.
This almost sounds "SANE" ...
ReplyDeletehehehe
Scratch that last 'sane' comment.
ReplyDelete(Do you really think that Miller can "sneak" anywhere)?
ReplyDeleteThat is NOT just another story...
It is a complete BLOG Baby; one you must write yet! (Your children are going to want to know what a klutz their mama was/IS).
hehehe
That means it is time to call Dr. Mario Rubio.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteYour transplant cannot come soon enough for me either.
Yet, it will come way too fast for me too.
ReplyDeleteI see now I shall have to call Kay Sheedy, just to make sure you know your nouns.
Punk sure as hell can reach those pedals, but has a basic innate fear of the steering wheel.
ReplyDeleteMight be because she got her nose slapped when she tried to mosey on over to the drivers seat once upon a time.
Say what you want, she does not forget to keep holy the drivers seat. (Well, 'cept for that time I took her through the car wash)...
Milly always was soft- (Unless you are a gopher or a wabbit).
ReplyDeleteBut I am thinking her hypothalmus isn't working as it once did.
ReplyDeleteSteal away Baby! They are quite good!
XOXO
Mama D
ReplyDeleteI shall swear on a stack of bibles that I did NOT say a word!
ReplyDeleteMethinks they were ALL on overload...
ReplyDeleteWhew...
(I feel like I'm eavesdropping on a mother daughter chat)
ReplyDelete(I feel like I'm eavesdropping on a mother daughter chat)
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteWho deleted WHAT???
That is my pet peeve kids...
No worries. Eavesdrop anytime!
ReplyDeletehehehe
I just couldn't highlight her whole blog is all...
XOXO
Me
Perhaps he might be able as one might expect a rhino to sneak up on you in the desert.
ReplyDeletelol!
ReplyDeleteI didn't delete anything!
ReplyDeleteAH, that could very well be!!! :D
ReplyDeleteI am not coughing and spitting stuff up any more, so yea, that is a YAY!!!
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, reputing the Old Wives' Tales. I did come across a book that I think Grandma Rita had that was about all Old Wives' Tales and their accuracy or lack there of... It was a very cool book! I will have to find them all online! Hmmm....
ReplyDeleteI am laughing about the comment about babies! So true! Twenty degree temperature difference and they are covered in cheese!!! Poor things...
*Bleepin*Bleep*Bleep*Bleepity*Bleepin*Bleep!!!!!!!!! That about describes the end of the packer game from about the third quarter on... I was so upset... Wished I would've slept through it, but it was one of those trainwreck things, it is so horrible, but you can't look away...
ReplyDeleteSplat!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA!
I have tears in my eyes!!!
Yup. Yup. Yup.
XOXO
Mama D.
"SANE"? What does that mean?
ReplyDeleteOh, and what does "reputing" mean? I don't think there is any such thing... Geeze, I can't believe some people's kids...
Sneak? Maybe if he had sneakers, but then it wouldn't be the sneak that you are thinking about...
ReplyDeleteAnd he is not sneaking-disabled, he is just invisibility-challenged...
I don't either. If I said it, I either edit it, or can generally stand by it.
ReplyDeleteUnless I'm drunk, (and THAT hasn't happened in years)! NOT that I remember!
I have a feeling that even if I never blog this a certain Grandmother of theirs will make sure they know every little bit of that story! :D
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteGlad the cough is gone...
Now about your not spitting up...
Does that mean we can finally throw the bibs away???
Not to sure who that Dr. is, but maybe I will give Dr. Marco Arujio's office a call. Seeing as how that is my pain management specialist... But if it will make you feel better I can give Dr. Mario Rubio a call, though he sounds like a d.j. or a pop star....
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteThat was MY book, I gave it to her, then I got it back by default.
it is now yours.
I know the feeling... That is how it is for me depending on the day... We will fast-forward and slow-mo together until December 18th...
ReplyDeleteDo not look away then.
ReplyDeleteJust raise your two hands and place them over your eyes.
(Just so you don't see the rhinocerous)...
I never had her for a teacher... But I did have Mr. Manning and he was hilarious!!!! I don't know if he's still teaching or not though... Anywho, a horse is a horse of course of course...
ReplyDeleteWorkin at the car wash... Woo woo woo wooh... At the Car Wash!!
ReplyDeleteOh, not the song, the actual wash... Yeah, she must've been terrified! I can't imagine what she must've been thinking!!!
Not quite sure...
ReplyDelete... I think it has something to do with something WE know little about.
And by "WE" I mean everyone on my friends list.
hehehe
That's true, she always did have a very nice demeanor... Until this morning... Don't know what happened, but hopefully it has passed!!
ReplyDeleteher hippo might be broken?? Poor thing...
Oh! Hypothalmus, yeah, that could be broken too, or at least slowing down...
ReplyDeleteSo go slap your father.
BE WARE!!!! She will come when you least expect it, she will bring terror with her and make children scatter and scream!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust kidding... I'll stop in tomorrow if I'm not feeling like this coma stage again...
ReplyDeleteOMG!!!
Between you and Splat Pea, I am laughing all over again!
Ah, okay, then it must've been Punk. She must have a crush on the Bush's Baked Beans dog and decided to be more like him...
ReplyDeleteGood Lord Kid, just how long do you think I'm going to live anyway?
ReplyDeleteOverload or in over drive!!!
ReplyDeleteBesides, I wasn't there. I was at that manager convention in Madison.
ReplyDeleteI did NOTHING of the sort... Wouldn't dream of doing such a thing!!!!
ReplyDeleteHells Bells kid, I can't remember the names of all of your doctors. (But I DO know how to pronounce SZABO too).
ReplyDeleteI meant mucus from the lungs, but didn't want to be gross about it...
ReplyDeleteYes, you can throw the bibs away... Unless they will help with my drooling at night... It's getting quite bad! :D
ReplyDeleteWell then what???
Will I still love you without a pancreas?
Stop asking me that!
OH! Sweet! I would love to borrow it and read it, but you don't have to give it to me permanently... I feel bad taking the cool stuff!
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteI never had her either, but we did ride the sane bus.
Why are you singing about Mr. Ed???
AH! Wait! I am not in the desert... So I should be safe, right? Plus, I have a bear hanging on my wall and that should scare it away. Unless they don't have bears in Africa... Then I'm screwed...
ReplyDeleteProbably thought we were in a landslide or something...
ReplyDeleteYes she was very upset but no weewee's either.
Never mind that it took me an hour or so to get her off my legs...
Hey Now!!! Are you on your friends list?? I think with that comment about not knowing anything about it, you therefore qualify as someone who knows little about it and therefore should be included in the list of people who know little about it.
ReplyDeleteWho is 'terror' ?
ReplyDeleteAnd now I am thinking it's a good thing that there are no small children here.
Can't now... I'll go to jail... He deserves a good slap though... Hope you gave him one for being so selfish and uncaring!
ReplyDeleteWho's again? And why are you laughing all over him??? :D hee hee hee
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteThat is one weird dog.
Punk leaves the room when that commercial comes on because she cannot stand to see a dog betray its owners.
Until you are 152 and a half... :D
ReplyDeleteThat's cuz Greg is such a man!
ReplyDeleteAh yes, but you did see the hard-boiled egg look-alike that was on my arm... Makes you feel like you were there, doesn't it? and the look on some of the people's faces when I told them I ran into a door was just HILARIOUS!!! You would've laughed too, if you would've been there... But you made up for it by bringing me into the doctor...
ReplyDeleteWhazzamatter wit you?? It's ALL cool stuff!
ReplyDeleteI never thought of asking you that! I hope you will still love me without a pancreas or possibly a spleen.... I am the same people! :D
ReplyDeleteI don't think they do have bears there...
ReplyDeleteGood question... Splat or RT will have to answer that one...
(Well, they are generally the ones that find these answers anyway)...
A horse is a noun too!
ReplyDeleteHow much breakthrough pain do you have?
ReplyDeleteAnd how many of those little pills have you taken???
(I don't think I could 'cipher that thought on a good day)...
I still don't know how she managed to go from the backseat to underneath the steering wheel and the dashboard in one step! She's not that tiny to be able to do that and yet, she did!
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteDitto.
Good Punkie!!!
ReplyDeleteAh, I can always blame the drooling on my attraction to him! Thanks! :D
ReplyDeleteSorry, but it's been years since I wanted to get close enough...
ReplyDelete(Call your stepdad if you ever get arrested for slapping the old man)- He'll take a number to do such a thing.
Right after me...
Maybe it's not a him?
ReplyDeleteWhazzamatter? Well, Chronic Pancreatitis is what it is called, and that's just a whole 'nother story...
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I do not think I should want to outlive my friends.
So... can they come too?
ReplyDeleteDamn!
I knew there were more than just one of you.
152 and a half... Wait, no that's how long you will live... I have taken no pain pills today, as I have been resting and haven't needed them... (In response to the pill question... I forgot to hit the include original message!!!)
ReplyDeleteThey don't eat potatoes though. (I asked Dan Quayle).
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteit was FDS.
Flying Dog Syndrome.
I can be your friend.
ReplyDeleteLa la la
I can be your friend.
La la la
Any day and any weather,
we can be friends and play together!
Sorry, VeggieTales took over...
Ok, who is SHE?
ReplyDeleteSure, why not!
ReplyDeleteI dunno...
ReplyDeleteBut 'again' gets to come along too.
Well I have never seen one eat a potato... So that might be true... But Breezy might, she eats just about anything!
ReplyDeleteI can't breathe, i am laughing so hard, and there tears coming out of my eyes!
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteHence the very expensive vet call last week...
HOLY CARP!!! THE END!!! I finally caught up!!!
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteI have no fingerprints left...
Mine are numb... Okay, but go back and take a nap... I are tired... Don't know why, but I am...
ReplyDeleteLove you MUCH MUCH!!!!
ReplyDelete~Casey
ReplyDeleteAgain I must reiterate, there ARE more than one of you?
ReplyDeleteI love you too!
Can any join this conversation or do you need to hail from Flintville?
ReplyDeleteHey! I resemble that remark! LOL
ReplyDeleteI haven't known what 'SANE' is in YEARS!
HAIL FLINTVILLE!!!
ReplyDeletehehehe
But jump right on in!
Even in Flintville we relish the thought "The More, The Merrier"
ReplyDeleteLucky you!!!
Not quite sure if I really EVER did?
