In reply to the first comment...
It does state "peanut butter"
My guess is that the peanut butter companies will be following suit shortly...

PCA is voluntarily taking this larger recall action following almost two weeks of inspection and review at the Georgia facility.

The expanded recall includes all peanuts (dry and oil roasted), granulated peanuts, peanut meal, peanut butter and peanut paste. All of the recalled peanuts and peanut products were made only at the company’s Blakely, Georgia facility; the lot numbers and a description of the products being recalled are listed at the end of this release. The Blakely, Georgia facility has stopped producing all peanut products.

Because some of our peanut products have been used by manufacturers of pet food, we are also alerting the public that Salmonella is an organism that can potentially be transferred to people handling pet treats exposed to Salmonella, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products. Pets with Salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain. Well animals can be carriers and infect other animals or humans. If your pet has consumed the recalled product and has these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian.

This is how my email read...

  3. This sickens me.... someone was doing this with full knowledge of the consequences and it makes me sick .... all in the name of money.....

  4. Well lucky me I haven't touched any peanut butter since this all began... I had a feeling the actual PEANUT BUTTER would end up like this too...

  5. Not had anything with peanut butter in it since Halloween. And that was the peanut butter cups. But believe me, you know I have craved them. Good thing my laziness was more overwhelming than my cravings.

But It always boils down to money. What's a few people being sick or dying to the wealthy who get to go on fantastic vacations with their ginormous bonuses from the sales they "pushed" to get people to buy more.

  6. my son and daughter suffered through four days of vomiting, dry heaves , chills and over all I think I'm gonna die soalmonella, they are better now however, the young adults seem to be able to handle it, but the elderly, young or low immune would not fair so well......apparently they had both eaten some peanut butter cookies at a friends house. homemade, so we figured the recall should have been for jars of peanut butter too.
