[My] Life in Wisconsin

Mountains and Cookies!

  magnify
Casey brought me some of her cookies!
.
.
Good Evening!
I have been so lax in blogging... My apologies for that.
All is well. Mostly. Still getting used to having just The Punk here.
Kinda hard because Mama Milly was everywhere. It has stopped hurting so much; but now I find myself belatedly second~guessing. Perhaps we all go through this...

Casey picked up Miss Millys ashes.
.
.
Cnv1332
I think the paw print almost means the most.
The nicest touch.

.
.
Weather...

The melting has stopped.

Do you remember this picture of my front porch?
.
.
?
Cnv1145
.
.
It now looks like this.
(And this is on the north side of the house)!

.
.
?
Cnv1317
Two, (of 4+) steps showing.

.
.
And lots of "field" and lawns showing too!
.
.
?
Home
.
.
I have a bone to pick...
A few days ago, I had asked Sweet Pea to send me some of her rain from Southern California. She readily agreed to do this.
I have checked my weather tonight. Only to find a Winter~Storm~Watch!?
(Pea, I do not think rain should be white. Nor did I want 6-8" of it).

Apparently it is to land on us tomorrow afternoon, evening, night, and all day Wednesday too.
This, coupled with a storm from Canada (Where)!?! hehehe They really are not sure how much we will get. Could be more. Could be less.
But it ain't gonna be rain!

Rain for a day would have helped me with this extension cord.
.
.
?
Cnv1341 .

I used hot water, salt, and the sledge hammer.
No luck.
-it can stay there 'til May for all I care.
.
.
Casey has someone coming from Milwaukee to maybe buy the old Roadmaster.
Not too sure when he is coming, (but I was sure that he would not have appreciated the drivers front tire being flat, or the battery being dead).
To deal with this, I finally broke down and bought another charger, and a new air compressor.

The tire is inflated, thanks to an extension cord borrowed from Jenny Mella's mom, and to Jim too. But I still have to hook up the charger. I shall buy another extension cord tomorrow. (One can never have too many anyway, not around here).

Casey has an appointment early, and I shall stop then.
She is doing very well, save for the fact that she is weighing only between 99 and 101 pounds.
Waif.

.
.
Did you know we had mountains to the southwest?
.
.
Cnv1319
The clouds just perfect to look like mountains
right out my back door!

.
.

Then this...
Just two minutes later,
as the sun set...

.
.
Cnv1320
The worlds biggest bonfire?
Sure was pretty!
And if you blinked, you missed it.

.
.
I'd better close for now.
Hope all is well, (and warm enough) in your little corner of the world.

Love to all.
Time for a very late supper now.

XOXO
Anne

  1. What beautiful sights.

Hey, please keep that snow your way, I don't want none.

I love how that took care of Miss Milly for you, the paw prints does seem to be the best part.

  2. Hello Anne...I'm the one from Cold Canada who let the Canada Geese go wild and made that plane
go down in the Hudson, and then manufactured that aircraft that fell on that house and killed 50 people. :( AND now I'm sending you a snow storm! YIKES...you will live to regret the day you added me as a friend on Multiply!! LOL What beautiful pictures of the sun setting. I thought we only
had those in Nova Scotia!! :) We have very little snow on the ground and the sun has been out for a
couple of days. I think there is snow coming from Boston in a day or two but nothing major. I will
be happy to see warm days. I'm getting anxious to get my scooter out and get around. I have been
very depressed since I got out of the hospital and I have more water blisters on the same leg, but
not at the same place. I don't want to see the doctor, don't think I could manage another hospital
stay. Tell Casey that I was wishing I had a couple of her cookies. She did a great job. I'm glad she
is feeling good. Good luck at the doctor tomorrow. I shouldn't complain with all she's been through.
BTW that is a very thoughtful thing they did for Miss Millie....it's so sad so I'm sending you lots of hugs and love.

  3. OK~I commented (or I thought I did~seems to be how it works all the time anymore where I try to leave you comments)

    But the pictures are beautiful.

I know the loss of Miss Milly has really hit you hard. I wish I could just wave a magic wand and make it all go away...but since I don't have one, I'll just send you all my love!

I will forgive you for being so lax about blogging because I am the last one who should be saying anything. lol I am so glad Casey is doing well. I worry about you guys a lot.

Stay warm and lots of love! XOXOXO

  6. Glad Miss Milly's remains are back with her human mama. That is a nice memory packet they have there with her ashes. Still...not the same as having her there for real.

Great sunset pictures Anne! Now that I have a newer camera I should be able to capture some of those nice sunsets too. Of course, I have to be looking outside at the right time. I rarely do.

  7. The paw print IS a really nice touch... You should frame it! Are you going to spread Ms. Milly's ashes or keep them in the house with you? Maybe take a few and spread in the woods where you all like to walk so much? Whatever you do I know it will be nice!

I know I have asked before, but can you send the snow west?? I wouldn't mind having enough to go play in... hehehe

Glad to hear that Casey is doing well... I will gladly give her some of my weight if she wants it... I have a few pounds to spare! LOL

Hope your Tuesday goes good (very little snow!) Keep warm!

    Love Ya!

p.s. What was for supper anyway?? hehehe

  8. Great pictures as usual
I know the feeling about missing a dog who has gone
After I lost my first one I thought every time I went in the kitchen I'd think she was still following me.
I went right out and got another one. I couldnt stand it.
Those cookies look yummy. Good thing you took a pic cuz I'm sure they're all gone by now!

  9. you take beautiful pictures hon, Casey is so thin, I hope she ate some of her cookies! What are you going to do with Millys ashes? my coon hound Jackson Browne died years ago and I spread his ashes around my pool area because he designated himself lifeguard for that area, many times he jumped into the water to pull one of the kids to the side, lol....no they werent drowning, he just liked to do that. So he has been given the eternal job as pool guard, we have never had a mishap, so Jackson Browne is still doing his job! You have beautiful memories of milly in your pictures, I hope you feel not so sad real soon hon.......time heels all.

  10. OK
    Here's the scoop.
Casey is on her way out- We will be gone for a few hours to get my st00pid head treated...
If I am still in the real world when I get back, I shall write to all of your comments.

    Love to all

  11. Sorry to hear that you've got a migraine (Bad bad migraine - leave Miss Annie alone!!)

The cookies look yummy. I've been on a diet for 3 weeks and I'd trade my soul for anything with sugar in it!

We've been having spring teasers here too. But it's still just February.

You must have a great pet crematory near by. I love the way they memorialized Milly's paw print, and put together such a sweet "care package" for you. The only time I've ever had a pet cremated I got the ashes back in a plastic bag stuffed in a small cardboard box.

The clouds do look like mountains, and the sunset picture is amazing. (Miss Milly's gift to you?)

    Feel better sweetie.

  12. I'm so sorry about Millie. I have been off of here for a while and didn't know she had passed away. :(

  13. I am sorry about Millie and know the feeling .. We lost our German just before Christmas and you can certainly miss her (Sasha)

The pictures are lovely of the fiery sky , nothing so beautiful

I am so glad to hear Casey is doing well and with time I am sure she will put on a little weight

Canada EH?! Well I am in Canada , Newfoundland Canada to be exact ( we are considered the outcast)... We have a storm suppose to hit tomorrow ..Its giving for high winds 100-120km and anywhere from 24-40 cm of snow .. YUK .. I am sick of winter ..

  14. SOrry... I was sick, the rain is still here......

    Sweet OKA;
I do believe that "I don't want none" is a double negative.
    So really, you want some?
    Still laughing at that!

It has barely begun to snow. But I shall wait then for the clouds to open up.
    Dang.

  16. You are one mean Canadian my dear! hehehe
I have been playing hide and seek with Canada ever since Winter began. (It always finds me).

I am sorry to hear about your leg. And I hope you do not have to go back to the hospital, so please call the doctor ASAP and get treated at home.
I still think it is MRSA.

Maybe I should have told Casey to mail her cookies!
    hehehe

    PS
Sounds like you need to be putting some snow grips or chains on that scooter too.

  17. Sweet Thers;
Am wondering which browser you use? I use Firefox and have no problems (for the most part), leaving comments. And if there IS a problem I hit back, and my comment is there.
The problems I do have is with the peoples pages that have movement on their pages. Mostly I try to comment on those and then just leave.

I told you that you should never have turned that magic wand into a spork.

  18. Sweet Darla;
Thanks for the compliment, but it isn't me that has the talent- it's the darn camera.

I never thought about a footprint.
And was very pleasantly surprised and very happy to have it now.

Stop worrying about us. We are fine. And hopefully the shot I got today will get rid of my headache. It was like being on a rollercoaster the past few days. And on again, off again.

Perhaps tonight I shall sleep good now.

    PS
I always know when you aren't online for a while... See, Mr. Dalton would leave me a comment every now and then...

  19. Sweet Beep!
It didn't make me cry- I just thought it a very kind thing to do for her. (And for us).

As far as not blogging... Do you ever sit and read others blogs and cannot think of a thing to say to your own? That's what I have been doing- Mostly it's a "zone" thing. And I find it hard just to concentrate.
    So then I just 'surf'
    Frustrating...
Maybe it has just been such a long and very odd winter...

I am jealous- No "Pea Green with envy" over your blooms.
I still wait to see green other that my envy.
    hehehe

    PS
Was hoping that I have an old friend or two to call upon should I need transportation or the like. The "I gotta go the hospital" days seem to have dissipated.

Oops Sorry. I missed it again...

  20. Sweet PeachieBaby!
Forgive me, but I couldn't help myself when I read your note here.
I told the can to "speak" It didn't.
The I told it to "sit" It didn't budge.
I even asked it if it wanted a pigs ear. Nothing.

So no, it sure isn't the same as having her here...
    hehehe

I have a secret about those pictures too.
Kelli had been on her way home and called to tell me that the clouds looked like the mountains... I practically hung up on her as I grabbed the camera.

    XOXO
    Me

    PS
Your turn to catch some cool sun pictures- We won't be seeing it for a while...

    ReplyDelete
  21. Sweet SlurkieBaby!
I do plan on framing that print.
And as far as her ashes go, I do think we will spread them. Though it would be nicer if I actually knew where she went all those times...

    Snow?
If you can figure out how to back the system up and reroute it, you can have it all.
They have downgraded now, predicting only 4-6". As far as I am concerned that is 4-6" too much.

    PS
I just ate some beans and some fish for supper last night.
For tonight, there is meatloaf in the oven that I am watching very closely; as I do not care to make little hockey pucks out of this one..

  22. Sweet Bug!

I am thinking that maybe your little dog really was following you into the kitchen.
I do not think that I will be getting another dog. Not yet anyway.
Besides, soon it will be time that Mr. Miller can come over to visit every day.
And that will be good for Miss Punk too.

The cookies were very very yummy! Wish you were here!!!

  23. Sweet Pamela!
Casey is quite thin- We go back next month then to MN for her recheck appointment. Maybe by then she will actually have gained a pound or two.
They may just have to change her digestive enzymes. Much of her food still goes right through her.

I love the story about Jackson pulling everyone ashore- Not too sure what Miss Punk would do as I never did go swimming with her- But she has been in the river etc up at Sault Ste Marie- Jumped right off the dock after a time or two of "splash persuasion"...
    hehehe

Will have to see this summer.

  24. Sweet RT;
(Or should I not say "sweet" anywhere around you)?
    Hmm...

You are not 'posedta' remind me that it is only February. Things always seem to warm a little after Groundhog Day.

I didn't know about the cremation beforehand- We always buried our animals- (right down to Caseys goldfish).

Nor did I know until yesterday that the same clinic where we went was where my KatieAngel works. She wasn't there that evening, but was working when Casey picked Miss Milly up.

  26. Sweet Carolyn;
My sincere sympathies on the loss of your own dog.
My sisters dog was quite ill before the holidays- He is still on treatment for it too.
Holidays or not, it is never a "right" time to lose one of our loved ones.

You are not alone wanting this winter to end already.
I am no good with the metric system, but I do believe those are gale force winds.
I hate shoveling snow... So any amount we have here is too much.
It should get very windy here too- The blowing and drifting make matters so much worse.
Thankfully my cupboards are full. (And so is my stock of Wild Cherry Pepsi). hehehe

  30. Hi Mommy!

I am glad those cookies turned out to be good! I normally don't like sugar cookies all that much, but these were quite tasty!

Miss Milly's paw print is the best part of the whole package. I remember going out to her kennel to say "hi" when I got there and she would jump up to give me a "hug" all the time. She never put her weight on me, just balanced on her back legs and lightly touched me with her paws. Such an angel!! I'm glad they got a print of her gentle paws!!

I was delighted to get the call about the Roadmaster, and we worked hard to get that tire inflatted, but now I haven't heard from him... Hopefully he's still planning on coming to look at it, but it would be really nice to know a finalized answer on that...

WAIF??? Who are you callin' a waif??? Are you talkin' to me?!?!? Okay, so I do have to gain some weight... I am under strict instructions to up my fat intake and even to snack on McDonalds from time to time! Yummy! Especially wonderful is the fact that I can eat whatever I want and it doesn't cause me extreme pain! YAY!!!

Oh, and I LOVED your pictures of the "mountains" and the sun setting! WONDERFUL PHOTOGRAPY!!!!!!

Alright, well, I must post a blog here and lie down before my head gets the best of me...

    I love you MUCH MUCH!!!

And the cookies.... yum! Yum! So precious!

Glad to know all is well, Anne. Take good care & big hugs!
