Wham Bam, Thank You, Ma'am...

Good Morning All;
So Yah~FREAKIN'~Hoo just ate my entire damned blog...
I start over, knowing full well that it won't be "morning" anymore by the time I finish. (I am NOT amused)!  Maybe it is still "morning" somewhere.
Bear with me...

Snowstorm "Julia" is gone- But she sure came sweeping in, in a very fast and furious way. The sun shines so brightly this morning, making it hard to believe that this all happened within an 18 hour time frame...

I had to go to the Suamico post office yesterday to mail a package. Snowstorm "Julia" was predicted to arrive around 5PM.
We left at 3.

Cnv1395
My yard as we pulled out of the garage.
Skies were threatening, and we knew she was coming.

Incidentally, I did rescue Punks orange toy before the storm.

Getting to Suamico takes all of about 5 minutes as long as the train isn't going through.
Ditto for the amount of time I was inside at the Post Office. (No train there either). hehehe

Still when I came OUT of the post office, my car was already lightly iced and topped with snow.

.
.
Cnv1399
Where did THAT come from???

Even Punk is looking like "What the hey?"
And you can't even see tire tracks!
Julia was nasty~fast...

.

.
Cnv1402

It might have taken us a bit longer to get home...

If there is ice/snow on your car, there is ice/snow on the road too.
My kids remember me telling them that over and over again.
.

.
.
As I mentioned in my comments last night, I knew my apprehensive feelings would pass as I slept. They have.
(Having gotten significantly better when I knew that both Greg and Kelli made it back to their respective homes safely last night).
Greg was the holdout there; taking over an hour to return home after "quittin' time"-
To add insult to injury he wound up mired in the snow in his own parking lot!
hehehe

Glad I didn't have to go anywhere.
Happier still that I don't have to go anywhere today either because God knows it'd be tough to even get out of my yard!

Cnv1417
Oh yes, that is a shot of my driveway last night.
Somewhere!
(I love the night vision setting on my camera).
;-)

Cnv1409
My yard last night...

Taken from my bedroom window
.

.

.
Cnv1419

Of course Punk wanted to check it all out for herself.
(Claimed she had to go potty)!
hehehe

.

.
Cnv1421

While I do like the "decoration" on the window,
I had to first wrap my mind around the handle of that door...
.

.

.
Cnv1422
That is just WRONG!
Yes, the door had been closed, (and it is also magnetized).

I had to forcibly push the door open.

Cnv1427

Cnv1424

Even the "dipstee~dumpster" looked nicer with a topper!
.

Cnv1415
The back yard too!

And from almost the same angle this morning...

Cnv1430
Major points for "pretty"
(If you are into that sort of thing)...
.

.
.
.
Cnv1433
The shadows from the birches and the pussy willows are pretty too!
(Again, if you are into that sort of thing).
hehehe

My yard at sunrise...

And looking toward the West

I would have had this posted much sooner, but having lost it was one thing-
Having the plow truck come was another.
Jim is still in Tennessee, so I didn't know if I would get plowed out or not (he comes home tomorrow).
Sam's dad had picked up Jim's truck and come to plow me out! (Neighbors, and friends like this mean the world to me).

Of course I went out there and shovel away from the house and the garages too. I'm no fool. When there is horsepower in the yard to pull the snow away and out, I will take advantage of that anytime!

Time for me to fly!

Note: The following two statements do NOT apply to those of you that are south of the Mason-Dixon Line.
Hope you are plowed out. And hope you are warm!

Love to all!
Have a "wunnaful" Friday!

XOXO
Me

  1. ummm..... gonna take more than a snow plow to get your garage out... that drift is as tall as it is,

  2. I'm into 'pretty', so I'll give you major points all round. I've just spent some time with the British slushy, slippy, slidy snow. They can keep it! I'll stick to our lovely crunchy Canadian stuff thank you very much!

    Hugs xxxx

  4. Sweet Mrs. G;
"Some" time??? My God you have been gone forever!!!
    This stuff didn't crunch-
    It was heavy last night-
But we got down to about 5 degrees (F) last night and it was MUCH lighter this morning!

    Missed you!

  6. Didn't have to plow out and I am north of the Mason Dixon line
    we got thunderstorms all night.

The temps was 538 when I sent my kids off to school, it was 37* when I picked my daughter up from morning pre-school.

Thanks for all the pics. Glad that snow ain't here.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Well I'm glad I'm looking at pictures of snow rather than having to deal with it. Actually we're in for some snow for about 24 hours starting tomorrow night. Probably will get a couple inches. Mom and I are headed to Knoxville (north of) tomorrow morning to pick up "Doc", (7 hour round trip) hopefully we'll be back home and settled in before it starts. I'll be off from work Sat night through Tues night so it can snow all it wants. Since I don't have to drive to work I don't care. The next four days I'm just going to stay at home and spoil my new baby. I can't wait!

  8. Sweet Oka;

Oh, and I forgot to write that WE had thundersnow last night too!

When the lightening flashed, I saw it through one of the east windows... and promptly thought there'd been a wreck. (Just because the snowmobilers lights don't even light up that window like that). So it had to be a car where it wasn't supposed to be.
    Wrong.
That flash was followed by the crack of thunder...

Punk went straight to her window and began growling right back at it. hehehe
'Til the next flash came anyway!

    Too funny!

    XOXO
    Me

    PS
538 degrees is way too warm for me.
Maybe I'd best not complain about the cold anymore...

  9. LOL, Oops that was 53*, LOL That's what I get for playing Wii with Michaela at the same time. Or should I say that's what you get...

    ReplyDelete
  10. One thing about the snow.....it sure does look pretty doesn't it???

    ReplyDelete
  11. Sweet RT!
Oh you are welcome to mine!
All of it would be nice-
So on your drive, please swing North-
Punk and I would love to meet Madoc too.

That way you won't have to worry about Doc getting into any trouble at your house. AND, you can leave him here while you go to work.
    hehehe

Have fun! And have a very safe trip too.

  23. hey!!! another hill for me to sled down and soil my pants!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I guess it's more of the ics/snow that's a problem...but when the south gets hit, it shuts them down, and not uncommon for them to lose power in the masses.

They don't come close to budget for the weather you get. Sheesh, this state doesn't budget for that kind of weather. Takes a few inches of snow for them to cancel school now :(

    ReplyDelete
  25. Punk you ROCK! this is why your She loves you so much!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Holy CARP Sweet Jenny!
I had a horrible time with my computer just to reply to you...

As you can see with Punks pics above, the "hills" will be much more fun now.
AND with all the sunshine, the mud will be just as sweet for your hinder!

    Love to you

Not sure, but I think so!

    XOXO
    Me

People were online today at The Press whining about having gone in the ditch last night...
    Wusses.

    ReplyDelete
  28. STOP! You are killing me with that picture of Jenny's butt....

    ReplyDelete
  29. I love them thar snow pitures! Hehehehe! Pretteeeeeee!!! Ooooooo....ahhhhh!

I think Punk likes the snow too. And "being" in the pictures. She is just so darned photogenic!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Everything looks prettier with snow on top of it!

How did snow get on your door handle from the INSIDE??

Love the picture of Punk you took in the dark... She looks like she is saying, "Shhhh! I'm watching out here."
I think she really wanted to go play in it last night though... LOL

    ReplyDelete
  31. I like pretty, so I loved that one....sue me :)

Im glad nothing bad happened after your feeling uneasy before this one.

    xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hi lovely Anna....I'm back and I hope I can stay this time. I love your snow pics and we are scheduled to
get rain tonight and snow Saturday, Sunday and Monday...up to 3 feet of it....YAY!!! I love the snow....I
always have. But, it creates other problems like my daughter and two children won't be home for the
weekend because of it. It's a six hour round trip drive and if it's going to start tomorrow, then they are
much better at home and I don't have to worry about them being off the road or anything.

Looks like Punk is happy with the snow too!!! He is just adorable. I'd love to have him... :)

Have a wonderful night and a great weekend. Hugs & blessings!! xoxo

    ReplyDelete

  33. Sweet PeachieBaby-
    She IS cute!

I like the pictures... Darn tired of the snow...

  34. Sweet SlurkieBaby...
I used to use makeup. Now I will just put some snow on.

I have NO FREAKIN' IDEA how the snow got in!!!

That pic of Punk sure reminds me of her mama.
And by the way, I took that pic right AFTER I had taken last nights picture where you two "see" people.
By seconds. Probably about 10 seconds too.

    XOXO

  35. Did she fall in to doggie doodoo?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Sweet BethieBaby!
I like pretty too. That is how I pick all of my friends on here, including YOU! ;-)

The only thing that was even remotely bad was worrying about those I love being out on the roads. Greg did a number on my nerves, and I sure couldn't even let Casey know how worried I was for them both. That was a hard sell, but I think I pulled it off.

    XOXO
    Me

I called my attorney. He is going snowmobiling all weekend. Your lawsuit will be served next week.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Then that's why she has that look on her face!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Sweetie!
You are so nice to me and I am so undeserving...

3 FEET of snow??? Man that has GOT to be UGLY! hehehe
I would have to replace my roof every year or so.
Oh never mind, my roof is tin. Never needs replacing. (And I would make a joke about "unless an airplane lands on it" but that would be tasteless of me). ;-|

I am sorry that you won;t be seeing your daughter, but happy they will be safe.

    XOXO
    Me

    PS
You have to take a number for The Punk.

    ReplyDelete

  39. No. It was plain old mud...

But doo doo would have been MUCH funnier!!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'd love to have one day in my life to see and play in snow...I would build huge snowmen....a village of snowmen...and I'd make so much ice cream.....at my age I'd love to be a kid in snow!!! The only snow we get is liquid sunshine!!!

    ReplyDelete

  41. Sweetie;
I am guessing that you hail from the South? (Your nickname kinda gives that away).

But anyway... Go to the airport and buy a ticket to Green Bay.
    Come play anytime!

    XOXO

  42. *wonders if southernprincess can bottle her liquid sunshine*

  43. Check out the "dipstee~dumpster" picture...

Does anyone see a guy in a white hat, and a milk can???

Sign me, "Curious and Quite probably Crazy" too

    ReplyDelete
  44. ok Anne, I see white shimmery lines to the right of the dumpster... but I can't make a figure out...

    ReplyDelete
  45. Do what Peach does.
    Walk away.
(And then I think she sneaks up on it)... hehehe

    ReplyDelete

  46. Once you zero in on the hat and the arms pouring milk (or some such), then you will see the whole thing.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ok..

I SEEN it! Seen the hat and the arms!

    ReplyDelete

  48. hehehe
Hang on. I am trying to brighten it up a bit...

    ReplyDelete
  49. The power of suggestion works great.

    ReplyDelete
  50. hehehe

I walked away and looked at it... and could make out a hat and arms...

I sneaked up on it... LOL

    ReplyDelete
  51. LOL

I still can't believe no one else seen the faces that I seen in the pic from last night... Well Peachie finally seen the one...

    ReplyDelete
  52. If that's a ghost, he looks awful tiny to me.

    ReplyDelete
  53. LOL, what ever happened to cloud and star gazing.... LOL

    ReplyDelete
  54. I should prolly know this Anne, but what type of camera do you have?

    ReplyDelete

  55. We were in the middle of a blizzard... So no stars.

Plenty of clouds though. Too icky to go outside.

    ReplyDelete
  56. We were in the middle of a blizzard... So no stars.

Plenty of clouds though. Too icky to go outside.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I think that we only see what we're meant to see....

    ReplyDelete
  58. Do you watch those ghost shows on cable, if you have cable???

    ReplyDelete

  59. That picture from last night scared SD pretty good...
(And I know that feeling of tears in your eyes and goosebumps when you see/feel something weird).

    ReplyDelete
  60. Maybe we can get one of those teams to come out and investigate.

First you got to decide which group, the one that wants to prove you don't have ghost, or the one that wants to prove that you do. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  61. I do sometimes...

But I can NEVER see what they say they see...

    ReplyDelete

  62. I changed my plan after the inauguration. So now I only have the family plan so not those. But I have seen the Ghost Hunters.
    They are curious.

    ReplyDelete

  63. OMG!!!! No.
They would come into my little house and still get lost in the mess. And we would never see them again.

I would LOVE to get one of those recorders though.

    ReplyDelete
  64. You should research the ghosts Anne... You might be able to find out who they are...

    ReplyDelete
  65. I know the farm has been in your family for lots of years but who owned it before your family??

    ReplyDelete
  66. Maybe you should just get a job with them???? Then you could use their recorders.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Off to the library she goes, off to the library she goes, hi ho the dairy-o, off to the library she goes

    ReplyDelete
  68. The infared cameras would be cool too...

    ReplyDelete
  69. they would but I bet they r expensive

    ReplyDelete
  70. My parents and grandparents owned this place since before the depression.

The kitchen was actually the "original" house.
And it was moved from the 40 acres on the hill to it's current location.
The (structure of) kitchen is probably 175-185 years old.

There was a school teacher that lived in the house. (Not sure why the name "alice cook" rings a bell...

    ReplyDelete
  71. Yeah I'm sure they are...

I think we lost Anne somewhere...

    ReplyDelete
  72. No. Sorry. Cell phone calls and inbox...
    Can't keep up

    ReplyDelete
  73. Then more than likely, the ghosts are family and possibly friends...

    ReplyDelete
  74. Yeah right.

    Me and my panic attacks...

Besides, I like the little ghosties here. I know I wouldn't like them somewhere else.

    ReplyDelete
  75. No worries!

I know you have a life outside your computer!

    ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  76. There are infrared security cameras for less than $200, course you would have to have all the recording equipment

    ReplyDelete
  77. Oh wait. I forgot.

The land here at one time was a community dump
Mom would find all kinds of treasures in the garden.
Pa would out in the fields too.

(Both of those EAST of the house though.

And there are caves in the woods-
Pa always said it was quite "Indian" years and years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Unless you wanted to hook up staright to your tv and look, LOL

    ReplyDelete
  79. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Is shoveling in Winter and Mowing in Summer a "Life" ???

    ReplyDelete
  80. Sure it is! Especially when you have all your awesome friends that come over too!

    ReplyDelete
  81. No I want the voice thingie that they had on that one show. It records stuff that we don't hear, and I don't remember what it was called.

I want to hear what wakes Punk up.

I already have the infrared on my camera now...

    ReplyDelete
  82. I know... I would LOVE to come out your way!

    ReplyDelete
  83. I'd love to go traveling, better yet, I'd like to get my internet friends together for 2-3 days

    ReplyDelete
  84. Sorry again...

Is that what it's called? Can Punk hear it then?
Because half the time she's cocking her head I have NO idea what she hears.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Killed me in December when I flew to Ohio and had that layover in Minneapolis, knowing that Anne and Casey were there... But my layover wasn't much of a layover...

    Love to ya both!

And I'll be expecting to see you in June!
