Inaccurate Health Care Info? Send those emails and e~addresses and links on! "There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there. Since we can't keep track of all of them here at the White House, we're asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to FLAG@WHITEHOUSE.GOV ****** A bit Orwellian, but it is time to get rid of the BS. XOXO, Me

    I think I could too!
But happy there IS a place to set a few records straight.

I have so many offending links saved already...
I shall send them on- (maybe all in a 'mass' email)?

  3. Your kidding right????? First of all every thing sent to the white house must be kept.. because of a records thing.. that means they have every address of every person who disagrees with them.

Whats next.. sending names and addresses of people who actively attend a rally that is anti Obama? or anti any democrat or republican???

    Remember Nixon? and his list?

Surely you are not serious and would send a list of names to these jerks?

  4. You say Orwellian.. I say Hitlerish!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Not kidding, and dead serious too, Sweet Beep!

See, now you apparently read it all wrong.
It is simply asking for "DISINFORMATION", not anti~anything.

(And if you think The White House does not already have a file on each of us, then you are sadly mistaken).

  9. I find it absolutely scary... Obama scares me enough with his Chicago style politics.. and now they are keeping a list of people who disagree with him.. You say those that are putting out wrong info.. I say its folks who are speaking out and speaking up and if you dont like the bill you dont like it.. and its how those people interpret the information they are reading and hearing.

Now what is he going to do with the information he receives.. call up the folks that are wrong? or maybe those folks get a tax audit? Or maybe he becomes a dictator and then those folks are dead.. you know I have heard a nasty rumor that he wants to remove the term limits on President. Honestly I didnt believe that but why else would he need a list of names of those who disagree and speak out?

and then too... I get this urge.. to say "tattle tale, tattle tale who's gonna pull your tail?" Im sorry but even when I heard this on the news that was the first thought that ran through my head.

In all honesty... I think this is the most stupid idiotic thing the white house has done yet!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Sweet Beep,
Who really gives a crap what is done with the information?
The White House has asked for our help. I for one, will give it.

As I have said ALL ALONG, too many people have only posted a bunch of UNVERIFIABLE bullshit.
None that can ever be proven!
Also as I have reiterated, time and time again, I want links and proof, not the mindless scare tactics from fearmongers.

Or those same simply post what some other uniformed (and apparently unteachable) idiot has sent them.

It is like they are these little robots who cannot even think for themselves.
So just mindlessly, (and quite dangerously at times), they forward them on.

You are right about how people interpret things.
But there is an internet now, and you can find out ANYthing quick as a flash if there is something you do not understand.

As it was in my Politics classes, "Ignorance is NO excuse"
To the best of my knowledge, it is still that way.

    XOXO
    Me

    ReplyDelete
  11. I must admit.. Ignorance is not an excuse.. and You are also correct that there is no excuse for those that do not look for themselves.. Best example yet.. Look who won the election. If people had actually done their homework and looked at his record and who he hangs with.. then Hilary would be president and not Obama. They were so tied up in the first Black man they didnt look beyond their nose... My opinion!

The problem is .. its illegal for the white house to collect this list.. and if folks like you send them info.. its illegal for them to delete it.. Catch 22 no matter which way it works.
Thats why I say.. its a stupid move on the part of the white house.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Frankly.. I care.. and alot of other folks care.

Can you imagine what would have happened if George Bush (either one) had requested such info??

    ReplyDelete
  13. Even when GW was in office at least I never posted anything that was even remotely untrue.
So again I tell you, I sure as hell don't care about any of that.
    hehehe

    XOXO
    Me

    ReplyDelete
  14. Once again you have misunderstood the above request, and tried to turn it into something it is not.
What is being asked and done, is for people to knowingly CHOOSE to forward this information on.

    According to the law...
It would be illegal if your police wanted the info, and got it without a warrant...
But that's a whole 'nother blog about illegal search and seizure... And this is quite obviously not the place for that.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Actually you might want to check the law.. It is illegal for the white house to collect names of people or organizations regardless of the reasons.. and then if they do collect this info.. they cant delete it.

Recently.. there have been many people who have received cease and desist letters from the justice dept because of these emails.. frankly thats very scary. Even to the point that Obama made a statement and requested no more to be sent..

Do as you wish.. I just dont like it.. I think its stupid on the part of the white house and my feelings are this info will be used against people and I find that frightening.

  16. Privacy Act of 1974, which was passed after the Nixon administration used federal agencies to illegally investigate individuals for political purposes. Enacted after Richard Nixon's resignation in the Watergate scandal, the statute generally prohibits any federal agency from maintaining records on individuals exercising their right to free speech.

The White House is in bit of a conundrum because of this privacy statute that prohibits the White House from collecting data and storing it on people who disagree with it," Judge Andrew Napolitano, a FOX News analyst, said Friday.

"There's also a statute that requires the White House to retain all communications that it receives. It can't try to rewrite history by pretending it didn't receive anything," he said.

"If the White House deletes anything, it violates one statute. If the White House collects data on the free speech, it violates another statute."

  17. Aw, Sweet Beep;
You are STILL missing the point
They are not 'collecting' this info. We are CHOOSING to send it to them.

    PS
Choosing of our own volition does NOT mean "they" are responsible.

FACT: They have not 'ordered' this to be done.
    They have simply asked.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Please reread...

"Since we can't keep track of all of them here at the White House, we're asking for your help.

    1. They have admitted that they cannot keep track of all of them...
    AND,
    2. They have "asked" for our help.

    What else?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Every thing is a conspiracy to some people.

    ReplyDelete
  21. No one wants my opinion, but here it is......

It would be so much nicer if people wouldn't send this crap out via e-mail, never ever. Don't send me this crap.

Wanna blog your opinions, truths facts, or lies? Go right ahead and do it.

There are ways to find the facts and truth and any joe-schmoe can find it, especially on the internet.

I don't mind e-mails with specific information regarding my family, my friends, and from orders I may have placed on the internet. As far as I am concerned, most of the other stuff is not worth reading 99% of the time, so it gets deleted.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Im sorry.. your missing the point here..

Its the same thing.. because you send it to them.. for whatever reason.. they have to save it.. by saving it they are violating the amendment to the constitution .. if they delete.. because they arent saving it.. then again they are violating the statute.

Oh and btw.. just because they "say" they arent saving it.. Im so glad to hear you believe a politician... (can you hear the sarcasm?)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Are you aware?.. if you .. by your own volition choose to send an email to him .. just to say how wonderful he is..

He has to keep that too!

    There is no difference.

    Now ..

do I honestly believe that him or his cronies has time to go through each and every one of these emails? .. which btw I havent received or I deleted before opening.. and to collect names in order to audit taxes or make a squad to go out and kill people ... No I dont. But the point is.. he cant do this! And frankly there are people who do believe that he can and will inflict revenge.

I also never believed that GW was listening in to every phone call in the US either... shame too because I really wanted that job!

    ReplyDelete
  24. "Who" said they aren't saving it? I never did. You brought this point up, for what reason?
I was merely correcting your viewpoints on this. That they "asked" for it. It was not an "ORDER" for Pete's sakes.
But I am glad that I really don't have anything to worry about. Do you?
And what's with me believing a politician? Which one?

Gosh Connie, I really didn't mean to trip your trigger today...
    Oh well. Food for thought.

    I want everyone's opinion!
And I am proud of myself that I can counter full fledged BS with simple "facts" always.
That I am NOT afraid to link to those same facts.
What people choose to do with those facts is THEIR problem, not mine. I did what I could.

You are correct also about Joe Schmoe.

I generally open emails that I have sent for.
I will always open those from family and friends, even if they are simply fun or funny. I appreciate those a lot some days!

  30. Sweet Beep;
What they do with the cards, letters, emails and whatnot makes NO difference.
You have again zigged when I was zagging. I could care less if they hold onto everything 'til the 2nd coming!

Back to your original train of thought though...
Your point earlier was that they were telling us what to do. ? (Sheesh, wasn't it)?
Mine was that they had asked for info. Asked, not ordered.

You said, "they have to save it.. by saving it they are violating the amendment to the constitution .. if they delete.. because they arent saving it.. then again they are violating the statute."

These words really make zero sense to me, so this is what I will say...
Are you not aware that once it is out there, no matter what you "do" to empty or erase, it is out there FOREVER anyway? (Yeah, I didn't think so)!

And it is on your computer forever too-
Just because you delete something does not make it go away. Ever. See "Computer Science 101".

So.... what people think is done with it afterward is a moot point.
The minute I hit submit, and even right now, it is forever somewhere.

  32. Sweet Connie,

The rights of anyone in this country only go as far as they don't infringe on the rights of others... By posting untrue information (while claiming that it is indeed TRUE) on the health care reform, people are infringing on others' rights to make a valid decision based on facts. This is known as libel or slander depending on which form it is given out in. Both are illegal. You CANNOT spread lies, pawning them off as a truth. Free speech does NOT cover this...

    Love to you,
    ~Casey

  33. Hi Sweet Mommy,

Here are my thoughts on this situation:

I believe what the government is trying to do is clear out all the false information so that if people want to make an informed decision on the matter, they are presented ONLY with concrete facts. I'm sorry, but I believe that making sure all the information is true is a step up from the way the government has run in the past. They aren't pulling the wool over our eyes, and they are finding the people who are trying to pull the wool over other people's eyes and setting them straight.

    This works two-fold:

1.) It makes sure only the truth is out there for people to learn. Clearing up the confusion of what is accurate and what is just ignorant~speak.

2.) They can inform those people who have posted false information. Those people can then learn the truth and be much better prepared to make their decision.

I, for one, applaud them for finally stepping up to the plate and saying "Enough is enough. From here on out, we only want the facts..." I also am one to only want the facts of the matter, not hearsay... I think it's finally time that our government grew a backbone and decided to stick with the facts.

As for what they do with that stuff... I personally think they are trying to clean it up and set everyone straight on what is true and what is not. I'm not delusional or paranoid enough to think that they will be sending people out in squads to kill everyone who posts false information...

Franks said it best, "What planet do you spend most of your time on???"

They are also NOT asking for websites/blogs/emails, etc., that are disagreeing with the reform. They are asking for those things that are trying to pass fallacies off as truths... As Mom said, "HUGE difference"... You can disagree with anyone you would like including, but not limited to, the government. However, you CANNOT spread lies about anyone... They are merely asking for the slanderers out there and I think they are well within their rights to do so...

    Just my thoughts...

    Love you MUCH MUCH!
    ~Casey

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think that that the disinformation about health care should be dealt with but we do through informing people with blogs and debates not by sending it al to the government. They have enough power over us and we shouldn't be helping them to take our free speech away.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Sweet Becca;
I think Casey said it best (above) with her reply...
    Thusly,
"I believe what the government is trying to do is clear out all the false information so that if people want to make an informed decision on the matter, they are presented ONLY with concrete facts. I'm sorry, but I believe that making sure all the information is true is a step up from the way the government has run in the past.
