[My] Life in Wisconsin

No one should die in the richest nation on earth because they can't afford health care, and no one should go bankrupt because they get sick. (If you agree with this, post this in your own 'status' or 'notes' section for a couple of days.)

  1. Eric Rubinstein, M.D. says:

"I'm physician. Our present "system" is unfair, brutal, and deadly! Clear evidence indicates that we can insure all citizens, at around 1/2 the cost per person, and get better outcomes. But the insurance industry and other big players control congress in ways that are ILLEGAL in other advanced democracies! I'm hoping that the slight reform we'll now get will be a step in the right direction."

  2. Everyone should get the care they need. On that I agree. I believe that if my mother had gotten the prober care she would still be here today.

  5. I did try that but I only landed at the page I'd been to before I was at your page. Oh well, it was a real good, well thought out comment though, something about no matter how advanced medical science has become if people can't afford the treatment we're no better off than we were 100 years ago. And some additional stuff that I'll be damned if I can remember ;-)

  6. And my hubby as well. Preventative medicine would have found his heart problems and maybe it could have been fixed. However, he never went to a doctor because of the worry of the added expenses for something he could not pay for and then died on Congestive heart failure.

Our country should never have gotten to this point to begin with. The money grubbers is to blame. The rich just want to keep getting richer and you know what happens to the rest of us!

  7. If we had more preventative care, we could cut more of the high costing crap. We also need to eliminate ppl going to the ER for a frickin common cold just to get a doctors note (this is both a medical issue and a work force issue). The ER should be for real emergencies.
