[My] Life in Wisconsin

Long Day Ahead...

They are dropping like flies...
Chicken soup is on the stove...

Casey called. I will be bringing her to the hospital as soon as she gets here. She is in pain and it is now extending to her right rib cage. She left class already- A call in to Dr. Sutherland.

Kelli sick. Flu.
Randy almost a definite H1N1.

Prayers anyone?

Love to all.

XOXO

  4. Prayers being said now. Rachelle had the H1N1 while living with us with her little girl. No one else
got it from her, so my doctor thinks we are immune!! Don't know if I believe that but I'm really
happy I didn't get it. Big healing hugs and lots of pink light for Casey and you too.

  7. My prayers are with you all,
We had a scare with Colleen she was exposed to h1n1 2 weeks ago, and being in her last 3 months. She was frantic as was I. lots of trips to the doctor and we were burning up the phone lines.....no serum in town!! they finally gave her an anti-virus med....she is fine, thank goodnes. With my medical problems, my 84 year old father, and pregnant daughter, I don't want to get or give this unfriendly bug to anyone. I refuse to go any where until I get my flu shots, I will start them tomorrow.

I think of you and Casey often and my prayers are with both of you always.

    love Deb

  8. We are home...
Casey OK for now- Will get in touch with Dr. Sutherland tomorrow.
    Or Dr. Szabo-
    Or her GI.

Hopefully Sutherland can set a few people straight. He seems to think something with her liver perhaps.

Love to all, and many thanks for your thoughts and many prayers too.

  9. Anne...with Casey having all the other problems she has gone through, did they immunize her against the regular flu and what do they say about getting the H1N1 immunization? I am not sure what would be worse for her body...a reaction to the immunization meds or coming down with the flu. Either can result in death!

Wish I could offer some help. I will have to stick with Prayer from my end to include all those I care dearly about here online.

  10. Prayers will be sent, even though I am late getting here...

Glad Casey is OK... I think y'all need a direct line to Sutherland so that the quacks-- er, I mean ER docs can just call him directly and quit treating Casey like she doesn't know her head from her ass...

Chicken soup is a good remedy!
But how do you plan on getting it INTO Kelli and Randy?? Throw it at them? hehehe
Cause you sure as heck don't need to be around them, especially Randy if he has H1N1...

    Love to all of you!

  11. Backtracking a bit... Greg just got here.
Casey quite ill, vomits and vomits...

I have just sent this note to Dr. Sutherland and Ann Marie

    *********************

    Dear Ann Marie;
As I write, Casey is in the bathroom throwing up.
There is definitely something happening with her.
We spent the day at the ER here in Green Bay, and all of her 'tests' come back 'normal'.
They treated her pain, IV, with dialuded 2 or 4mg; and her nausea with zofran, after trying and trying to find a vein!
Additionally she took 50 mg of her anti-emetic pills (promethazine) about an hour ago.

Her GP surely cannot help her- And she cannot get in to see a GI Dr, until the middle of next month.

Truth be known, NOBODY IN THIS TOWN WANTS TO TOUCH HER.
They won't even order a CAT-scan because she has had "too much radiation". While I do not want to risk any potential grandbabies of mine, I think that's a terrible excuse not to find out what is wrong!?!
I further understand that every place is overwhelmed by the flu, but somebody has to help her, don't they?

    What do I do?

    Please let me know.
I thank you in advance for any help you may be able to give.

    Keep 'em coming kids...

  12. This makes me angry...

Do these ER doctors not realize that with all Casey has been through that the smallest, simplest thing could be the difference between life and death with her??? That what may not bother you and I could do something absolutely horrible to Casey?

    Makes no sense to me...

Keepin' the prayers coming... Hope you all get the answers you're looking for...

  14. I still cannot understand with all this medical training and years of experience that doctors are "suppose" to be getting, why the heck can't they determine what is wrong with someone anymore? No one should have to go for months and months before a diagnosis is figured out. The situation only worsens during that time. Look how long it took for Casey's problem to be figured out and to get treatment to begin with.

I had hoped, she would be on the permanent track to positive healing. Even the flu could be serious for her.

I Pray for you to have strength and endurance for your daughter. And Prayers for Casey to be feeling better soon!

  15. I am home-
Greg came back to St Marys-
As I left they were wheeling Casey away to have a Cat Scan. (Imagine that).
The doctor said she had spoken to the University of Minnesota-
Then added that it would NOT change the way SHE practiced medicine.
Then she ordered a shot of toradol for Casey. WHAT!?!?!? (Like a freakin double~shot of ibuprofen is going to help Casey)...
This is the same b*tch Casey had a week ago when she went in...
Greg won't let this 'doctor' walk on his girl though.

He will call when there is some kind of dx. (diagnosis).

    Night everyone-
I must sleep. perchance to dream.

    Love to all

    XOXO

  17. UGH! There aren't any other doctors that work there? As much BS as this woman has given Casey, I would have requested a different doctor (although I know that sometimes that just can't happen)

Hope that you can get some rest... I know how you feel about being exhausted and not knowing if it's mental or physical...

Hugs, prayers, lots of love and healing light being sent your way!

  19. Can Casey go through the MN. ER department when she is in such pain? Sorry I don't know how far away you are from it, but Melanie travels 2 Hours to get to Baylor ER..once there they call the Transplant team. We wait for hours but at least they treat her and make her comfortable till one of the team gets out of bed and makes an appearance. The local Hospitals are fine for colds and broken bones but useless for everything else, just out of their knowledge and too arrogant to admit it. I am behind times with this comment I know, but just thinking out loud. Always praying.
