I do not like him in my "howiss"... Nor does Mr. Sputnik. I found them both making an awful ruckus, in a cardboard box in the back entrance.

I think they are the epitome of creepy, and it will not surprise me at all to hear that no one has ever had a pleasant experience with one.

I think the wegi board is a hoax, LMAO...although I bet they are made out of recycled cardboard, ooh the demons that must be attached.

Your Mowiss reminds me of the mole some neighborhood cat left for Mimi. Good thing I was outside when she located it.

My ex-huband, a PK, got one for his children. His oldest son committed suicide soon afterward and when Jim tried to throw it away, it kept ending back up in the house. He finally had to burn it. For cardboard, it didn't burn very well.

Jenny Mella brought one over once- Her and Casey were in the living room, I was in the kitchen. They were thinking it didn't work, but you see it did... it answered the question I had asked it in my head. A name too! (No, I never said it aloud).

Friend Judy in high school had played with one- and the lights went screwy in her basement while they were playing...
Damned mowisses... If this were a big one, I would be more relaxed about it. But it is a small one, so that means there are MORE.

I've only played around with a Ouija Board once. My father's sister's name (Bobbi, short for Barbara) kept coming up. She was diagnosed with brain cancer when she was around 40, after she was diagnosed she just disappeared. She had a husband and children. No one ever heard from her again. Presumably she left because she didn't want to be a burden to her family.

As to the Ouija board.. I never disallowed my children to mess with them.. but I also didnt have any around the house. When I was a young teen.. I did have a very creepy experience with one.. but nothing too severe. Just scared me enough to not mess with them.
I have learned since to remember that a persons mind can do lots of things and make things happen that normally would not seem possible. Just ask Kreskin.
so as to a Ouija board.. No I dont believe they are evil.. Its a game.. nothing more.

ReplyDeleteI have never played with the game. It became a "board game" by makers, Parker Brothers. They were interviewed once about how it works. Their response was that they had no idea how the game worked.
I know it isn't a game to be playing with. I have heard too many horrid, sick stories about the use of them. I rank it right there with Taro cards. Never used that either.

ReplyDeleteAs for the Ouija board... I didn't 'play' with one 'til I was about 21. My ex and I bought one and played with it when we got home. We had always felt that our apartment was haunted (there was a fire there several years prior and someone died there) so we wanted to see if we could 'talk' to who ever happened to be floating through... Well we talked to a couple of different souls, one being a female who said she sat there with me sometimes and just 'watched me'. Another one was foul and bitter and rude... At first, I didn't believe and thought that it was just my ex playing (you know, "You're moving it! I KNOW you're moving it!) but when the temperature of the room dropped several degrees, that's when I got totally freaked and declared the game over! The apartment never felt right after that. And there were several instances where I would wake up from a deep sleep and feel like I was being watched. Once I woke up to someone sitting on the bed beside me touching my leg and there was no one there but me... Needless to say I have not touched a Ouija board since...
I think I would let Kaylee try it once, in a controlled environment, with me there, when she is older... But don't hold me to it...
My sister had one back in the 60's. Back then, they were nothing more than something to have for entertainment. BUT.....we did have some scary moments with it. Not knowing "who" to summons, we called for Abraham Lincoln. LOL! Laugh if you will. We were kids.But the novelty wore off, it was put away and never picked up again. It was either misplaced or lost or thrown away during cleaning house or moving at some point or another.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter wanted one after she got in high school. She bought it herself with some birthday money I think. I particular don't care for them. I told her if she insisted upon using it for entertainment purposes, she would be required to say a prayer before hand. She always did. And any friend who happened to be visiting who did not want to say the prayer, would not be allowed to participate. That usually worked out. A couple of times, the person who refused to say the prayer left. That was fine with me. Their presence was negative anyway. Negativity is like an open door for these boards to pick up things you do NOT want. These things CAN bring in things you don't want in your life. Evil spirits will mimic what you want. Evil spirits can sense weaknesses in a persons faith or beliefs and cause some not so great things to start happening.
You know, Sylvia Browne does not even like these things and tells people to stay away from them. This from Sylvia Browne!
But I am no stickler to a little fun. I enjoyed messing around with the Ouija board a few times. I learned to use it with more caution. As teenagers we loved the ghost stories and the dares to walk alone into cemeteries with only a candle to light our way. Now....over time...I have learned NOT to be afraid of the ghost but to be more afraid of the living!
With the right preparations before use...the Ouija board can be interesting. It never hurts to ask for the white light of protection.

I never did and I never will play with a Ouija board. I never let my kids play with them either. I never heard anyone say anything good about them. I attended a lecture once about them given by a Priest and he had horror stories, so I'm perfectly happy to be the way I am and not try to make myself freak out anymore than I am already!! LOL
The wife & I use to do the Ouija quite a bit and have gotten some correct answers of questions we asked. We had one bad experience I broke it in two and through it out. My oldest daughter ( still at home with us) works one and has it in her room. I never could work it alone, always took two people. One must be careful as not to let the un-wanted free.
ReplyDeleteWhere we use to live our landlord and neighbor ( double shot gun house) had passed away. His children had giving us his bedroom set. What was left of it and it looked very old. They didn't know how old it was so we asked the Ouija Board and it said 50 years old. We told his daughter and her husband about that and they laugh about it. As they were going through all his papers they found the add in the news paper with every piece that went with it and the receipt with the date it was purchased, the board was right.
My experience with that board was with my sister "guiding it" to tell me whatever she felt like...

As for the Ouija board, they are most definitely real. For any kind of spirits they are a channeling device. Think of it like going to a zoo and seeing a lion in a cage. You can look at him, he can look at you, but you have the wall as a barrier. Spirits exist all over the world, but not all of us can see/hear/interact with them, so it's like having that barrier with us all the time. Using the Ouija board is like putting in a hole in that glass wall, the lion can get to you and you can get to him. Nothing is stopping the both of you from exploring your carnal curiosities. Evil spirits or dark spirits need that channel because most of us will automatically have that wall up. Once we let it down, they are free to manipulate our environment, thoughts, and even ourselves.
However, the boards are not all bad. They are the opening of a doorway into the spirit realm. This doorway must be respected and there are steps that must be taken to protect yourself. There are precautions you should take. If you decide you want to mock it or not take these precautions then I strongly suggest you shouldn't be playing with it. Many people treat this board as a game, just another board with funny letters and pictures on it. They walk right into the lion's den and wonder why they are affected by it, sometimes in very negative ways... It's not a game, and in essence, you are inviting spirits to alter your own body, to move your hands to convey the messages and the answers you're seeking... Please, if you're going to use the board, respect the power and ability of the spirits you're inviting into yourself. While it's true that spirits can't hurt you physically (i.e. stab you with a knife) they can alter your emotional state and your thoughts to bend them to suit their own dark needs. Just like good spirits can comfort us during anxious times, dark spirits can reverse that and they are very very powerful at altering thoughts.
Just like when you're interacting with a lion or shark in the open, you can be in a fully enforced car where you can see the lion up close and personal, but still protect your life, or you can be in the ocean with the shark up close and personal, but in a steel cage to protect your life. Just like these precautions, you can protect your environment, thoughts, and spirit when dealing with the Ouija board. There are rituals and chants that are used as protection as well as salt circles and white candles.

To answer your questions:
1. I don't think the boards themselves are evil. That's like saying the ocean is evil because you can get to sharks that way... I do believe the spirits that it can let in can be very evil and dark. The doorway shouldn't be feared, but what comes out if it should be.
2. I wouldn't let my children play with it. No way... Not until they are adults and can understand, respect, and be very cautious with the power that opening that door can release. And certainly not without performing protection tasks beforehand... Too much can go wrong. Children are very very trusting and malleable by nature, no way I would expose them to dark spirits.
3. Well, my own experience was the experience you stated in your blog! That was quite unnerving... While I'm sure we weren't dealing with a dark spirit, I still am glad we didn't continue. We had done nothing for protection and were just treating it like a game. Well, until that happened anyway!
Yes, I would use the board again if I protected myself well before using it. Actually I just might do that to figure out what happened to the spirits trapped in my apartment, but I've got a lot of studying to do beforehand to make sure the protection is there!

ReplyDeleteI must disagree with you on the Tarot cards... Ouija boards are portals to the spirit realm and it's those spirits that control it. However, with Tarot cards, you are the determining factor on them. You are in control but with the Ouija you're not in control of anything. Different spirits are let in which you don't determine, and those same spirits manipulate you to use the board.
I do own two sets of Tarot cards and they've helped me to decipher quite a few scenarios... But then again, I'm pretty open to the New Age stuff... Sorry to disagree, but I just had to put this out there...

I totally agree Casey. There's a big difference between a Ouija board and Tarot cards. I use my Tarot cards and some online Tarot sites all the time. I can't imagine life without my cards.

Where there is one mowiss, epsecially a kid mouse, there are more.
UNLESS, the little thing snuck in through a hole not big enough for the rest of his kin? Doubtful though.

As for the Ouija experience. You said "one was foul and bitter and rude..." That would have been "it" for me. But the temperature drops are all very accounted too. You are not alone in having that happen.

Giggling at your refusal to go to Thailand! I once turned down a trip to Texas because of the spiders! I had friends that were owner/operator truckers- Dave had asked me to go along for the ride.
When Jennifer was here this summer, she said she had witnessed some kind of tarantula migration down in Texas... Thousands of them were crossing the road.

I have used one when I was younger with brother and sister or friends....plus sometimes by myself. One morning I remember waking up as a teenager....and the board was out from under my dresser.....I didn't remember taking it out....OR leaving it out. I had been having some creepy and scary nightmares so when I saw that....I went and threw it into the burn barrel we had. I got home from school and it was back in my room! LOL.....I was petrified and told my mom about it and she said that she took it out of the burn barrel and put it back in my room! I think I ended up stuffing it way back in my closet after that.
