CaseyAnne 1-29-2010 Surgery Update

Hi Everyone...
Up since one. And I need another nap, but will do that at the hospital.
Casey came through her surgeries 'good', is well, and is "resting comfortably". (Oh, I've grown to hate those two words together)! Grrr...

It was a very long day-
The surgery did not last as long as was planned. Her nurse called me at noon! But then she was in PACU for an eternity.
Having arrived to the hospital at 5:30AM, and with Casey not being to her own room until after 6PM.

I could not get on to Multiply last night when I finally got back to the hotel; so an update will be coming later today.

Greg Loves Casey
"For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul."
J. Garland

I thank you again for all of your positive thoughts, prayers and energies.

My apologies too, for not being able to call anyone that was expecting my call...
...Some yahoo forgot to charge the darn thing.

hehehe

Heading back to the hospital shortly...
Punk must eat first, then get outside for a bit.

XOXO,
Me

PS
Although Casey feels worse, my back is killing me, my head is rough, (thankfully it is not a migraine), and now I have an added toothache as well.
What the hey?!?

Methinks it is going to be one of those "Morton Salt" days...

Gritter, could you please call Beth and let her know that Casey is OK?

  1. Will pray for a speedy and uneventful recovery for Ms. CaseyFace!

Sorry that you now have a toothache on top of all the other things... If it's not one thing it's another, right??

I bet it was all Greg could do to not hop in bed and snuggle up with Casey... I so know how it feels to not be able to comfort the one you love...

Take care of you! Hope your head gets better and your tooth doesn't get any worse!

    Love You!

  2. Casey may feel worse now, but from here on out she'll be feeling better and better. And poor you, your back and your head and your tooth should realize you're too busy for their pain right now - maybe later. Take care of yourself and our Casey. Hugs (BTW - I love the quote by J Garland.)

  5. I am so glad to hear it all went well and she is doing good. Thank God and hallelujah! Now, for you....well you are so stressed out it's no wonder you are in pain. One of these days you should go get a full body massage at a spa, you deserve it and will feel soooooo much better afterwards, if you are like me you will benefit from two of them one each week. Say hello to Casey from me and a hug too.

  12. I didn't realize poor Casey had to go in for another surgery. I must have missed that one gal. I'm glad she came through it ok.

For the tooth, try a good strong mouthwash like Scope. It kept my tooth without pain until I could resee my dentist. It had a cavity majorly. If you use the mouth wash several times a day, it helps, or at least it did me. It's also infection that causes a tooth to hurt most of the time. Scope, or the walmart brand (the blue green strong mouth wash) kills germs. It made a lot of nights and days bearable.

  13. So glad the day is over and the mending has begun. She is still in my Prayers.

As for that tooth....have you been gritting and grinding your teeth because of the back pain and stress or is this from a crack or cavity? Gosh...I know that pain all too well. Hope the pain eases up soon. Nothing like a danged toothache. Well...except for a migraine...or severe backpain. I think I just hate pain and feel what you feel.

  14. I'm so glad that Casey pulled through OK, but I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Get yourself some rest! Y'all continue to be in my prayers. *Hugs* to both of you - things WILL get better...our prayers have been answered so far, so there's no reason to think they won't be answered this time. Say hi to Casey for me.

    Take care,

    Rick

  16. Oh my sweet Anne, I am very relieved that Casey has come thru the surgery and day by day the
healing will get better. I will keep her on the prayer list and I will add you this time. I should of
done that before now. I don't know why I can't remember to do anything unless I go and do it now,
which is what I'm going to do. All the stress and worry about this surgery has your whole body in
an uproar. suzycute up above suggested that you get a good massage and that is what you should
do asap!! It would help you more than you can even imagine. Please do take care of yourself,
you need to be around for everyone and Punk included....pain can wreck your whole life and make
you miserable. You don't need to live like this. They should have an ER there, maybe you should
go see a doctor. Just suggestions......I'm not trying to push you!! lol You know I love you heaps
and Casey too, so I'll await your next report and go ask for prayers in-addition to my own. Hugs

  17. So GLAD to hear that casey came through her surgeries well....
It broke my heart to find out she had to endure more surgeries....
I pray she has a speedy recovery with NO problems!....
Will also pray that everything gets better for you Annie....
You and Casey are strong women and I admire you both
for all you've endured in your life....
Always know that even when I'm not around, I'm still thinking about you....
Give Casey a gentle hug and a kiss on the cheek for me....

Much love to you both~ Susan XOXOXO

  18. Glad Casey came thru her surgery and is now starting to recouperate. Its hard to see anyone hooked up to all the machines. Hope she got/gets a private room..so she can have some peace and quiet to rest when she can...knowing hospital staff will bug her enough.
I love the quote by Judy Garland. Its my favorite.
Hope you get some relief from your aches..hate that you now have a toothache.
Hope you and Greg get some rest....that everything moves along smoothly without any surprises.
Will keep you all in our prayers.

  19. Hi Mommy,

I’ll be willing to bet that both you and Greg needed quite a nap after that day! That’s quite a day to spend waiting, worrying, and praying… This all takes so much energy from you that it takes a toll on the body… I hope you were able to sleep that day. I don’t remember much from that day other than the nurses transporting me from the surgical bed to my room bed… Despite how careful they are not to move me, my abdominal muscles ALWAYS cramp up big time when they do that…

I love the picture that you got of Greg and I… Although it looks like he’s worried about breaking me if he comes any closer! I bet it was a nice relief to see me after waiting so long… I can’t believe they kept me in the PACU for that long! I don’t remember being in there at all. I wonder if I just wasn’t cooperating and waking up like I was supposed to and that’s why I don’t remember it…

We are so blessed to have this great network of family and friends looking out for all of us. All the thoughts and prayers really did help! The surgery went well, and so far the recovery is going well also. (*knocks on teeth*) Now we just have to make sure this is the VERY LAST time that we’ve got to go through this… I’m mighty sick of it, and you are as well…

That’s just awful to have all this painful stuff that you have to deal with. I wish I could make it better for you… I just feel so helpless when you are in so much pain and there’s nothing I can do to make it all better! I’m amazed, though, that you got a “headache” rather than a migraine! That must’ve been a nice reprieve, yet painful still… I send my prayers up to the Boss Man upstairs every night that your pain goes away…

    Love you MUCH MUCH!
    ~Casey
