[My] Life in Wisconsin

Our Labor Day Weekend... (Grab a cup of coffee)...

This butterfly found its way to a flower.
~Sunday afternoon~
.
.

Good Tuesday Morning from Flintville Wisconsin;
I have begun this blog no less than a half dozen times. Or so.
More than a lonely bit "blogstipated" even now, I am set to finish it...
(The "Pikes Peak or Bust" mentality of the whole thing)...
.
.
A few days ago, I was completely p*ssed at Multiply here.
Seemed that every time I tried to open a page to read a blog or comment, it gave me this screen.
"Verify you are human".

WHAT?!?!?

I pinched myself.
It hurt.

I checked for a pulse.
It was there.

In desperation I ran to a mirror to see if I was reflective or not.
I was.

.
But then came "The MOTHER" of all verifications...
.
.
Multiply HUMAN! hehehe by you.

I am still snickering.
All they have missed is the word "you" on this screen.

(Yes, they are still asking me if I am human; it's just funny now)!

Hmm... Are YOU my human friend?
.
.
My heart goes out once more to everyone that is living in the hurricane belt. And living with one right after another...
Please stay safe.

May God and Mother Nature divert the worst away from you.

The weather here has been scorching. (Please, no laughter from my friends in Alabama, Georgia and Texas).
Our highs have been in the 90's; and so, SO very dry. ugh.
Today will bring more of the same. But in September, it cools off so nicely at night that it is hard to be terribly upset about all the sweating one does during the day.
Tomorrow is to be in the mid 70's. Breathable at the very least. And perhaps we may even see a bit of rain.
.
.
Even Punk was so hot she would not wait for the kiddie pool to fill.
.
.

.
.
In preparation for our annual Labor Day picnic,
Casey and Greg "had at" the firepit;
~so overgrown with weeds this year...

.

.
.
Even though I canceled our little picnic at the 11th hour,
that firepit turned out beautifully!

Meet my hired help...
.
.
Cnv0012 by you.
Ya gotta keep a vigilant eye on this crew of mine...
hehehe
(a CLOSE eye too).
.
.
.
.
Apparently though,
I was not vigilant enough to prevent this from happening.
.

.
Cnv0003 by you.
HAHAHA!!!
oops...
.
.
.
Master Gabriel did not seem to mind the heat at all..
except for the sweat that made the sandbox stick to his face.

And I know that there are MANY people that cannot stand to see a dirty child.
Too many.
I hope you are not one of them, because you are about to get blasted if you are.

I say if your child cannot get dirty, there is something wrong with YOU.

Besides, isn't that what soap and detergent were invented for?
.
.
.
.
Cnv0010 by you.
hehehe
Tired.
Dirty.
Still darned CUTE!
.
.
On a somewhat related note, Casey had to go to WalMart to buy a little something on Sunday evening...

While she waited for a parking spot, the guy behind her was increasingly irritated and upset.
He literally stopped his car directly behind hers as she parked, waiting for her to get out of her car.

Noticing him there, she took her time;
making him wait a little longer.

(Who the hell raised her anyway) ?!?!?

After she got out, he began berating her for making him wait.

Makes my simple mind wonder what we are teaching our children when it's OK for him to wait, just to be hollering at someone he doesn't even know?

This he did, (with a car full of children).
.
.
  • Those same children he should be holding tight.
  • Protecting them.
  • Teaching them patience instead of hatred.
  • So they could learn that a little kindness goes a long way.

Maybe he was buying soap?
.
.
.
.
.
.
Maybe he hadn't read that Baby Mariah had died that afternoon.
.
.
.

2004 - 2008

.So you speak to me in sadness and the coming of the winter,
fear that is within' you know that seems to never end,
and the dreams that have escaped you and the hope that you've forgotten
and you tell me that you need me now and you want to be my friend

and you wonder where we're going, where's the rhyme and where's the reason
and it's you cannot accept it is here we must begin
to seek the wisdom of the children
and the graceful way of flowers in the wind.

For the children and the flowers for my sisters and my brothers,
their laughter and their loveliness would clear a cloudy day.
Like the music of the mountains and the colors of the rainbow
they're a promise of the future and the blessing for today.

Though the city starts to crumble and the towers fail around us
the sun is slowly fading and it's colder than the sea
it is written: From the desert to the mountains they shall lead us
by the hand and by the heart and they will comfort you and me.

In their innocence and trusting, they will teach us to be free.

For the children and the flowers for my sisters and my brothers,
their laughter and their loveliness would clear a cloudy day.
And the song that I am singing is a prayer for nonbelievers
come and stand beside us we can find a better way.
Words and Music by John Denver

  1. I hugged the ones that live close, hugged the nieces and nephews~told the ones that live far away how much I love and adore them~thought about baby Mariah...knowing that she is looking over all of us!

Much love and thanks for all the pictures!

  2. Sweet Thers;
I am happy that all those hugs were going out all over.

Glad too that you enjoyed the pics!
    What of Punk, eh?
    hehehe

Love to you- and special thanks for all of your kindnesses.

  3. I have not experienced the "human" thing on here, but it is really weird!

Glad to see the pictures of the family up there, and yes I agree, children NEED to get dirty :)

I even let TJ pee on a tree in our FRONT yard while waiting for his preschool bus. Yep, I might have gone overboard, but it just seemed ok in that moment :)

Oh and that song, I imagine John Denver singing it from above, his legs swinging off the end of a cloud as if it were a dock at the bay.
Maybe Mariah is dancing to some of his other songs too.
Maybe she is coloring a pink and purple rainbow for the hurricane victims.
Maybe she can see the rainbow bridge and all of those sweet dogs, cats, and animals of all kinds.
She IS healed and in a perfect place and for that I am sure we are all glad.

Her family is in my prayers continually and your family as well. You are all beautiful people. I am blessed to know you Anne, and blessed by you. Thank you for introducing me to Mariah's world, I am a better person for it.

  4. Good clean fun sometimes gets you very dirty!

It's been very hot here too, but with all the tropical disturbances we should end up with some rain and maybe some cooler temperatures.

Your fire pit looks great - maybe you can use it next weekend.

So sorry to hear about Mariah. The little angel now has her wings.

    ReplyDelete
  5. BTW - did you report the "Human" problem you're having to Multiply? Sounds like hacking to me.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I hug Cee every chance I get and she does the same. No reason, doesn't have to be a reason to hug someone, right? I was so deeply saddened when I got my update about Little Mariah in my mailbox. She now runs among the angels free of pain and suffering and we can all feel safer knowing that sweet little girl is now our Guardian Angel. I know I do.

I got one of those "human" things yesterday too. Only once and I immediately reported it to multiply customer service asking what was up with that. Still no word yet on that one.

It's horribly hot and humid here today. I was going to do my zuccini bread this afternoon but it's to hot to have the oven on even with the a/c. It's already working hard enough as it is.

I didn't see a dirty Gabriel. I saw a little boy that looked like he had a blast outside. I'm with ya---if a kid can't or isn't allowed to get dirty, there's something wrong with the adult in charge.

    ReplyDelete
  7. What about your niece here in California where it is ever so HOT also??? Did you forget about me over here? Gosh I havent even been gone THAT long!

  8. Oh, I loved the pictures of Punk and Master Gabriel. However...ewwww dirt!! hehehehehe. I was one of those kids that couldn't stand getting my hands and feet dirty (and DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ABOUT WALKING IN THE GRASS!!) I'm glad most of those things changed as I grew older!!

  9. I hugged my son today. He has it tough sometimes and I know a hug from Mom always helps(as long as she keeps her mouth shut)
I'm so sorry about Mariah. Oh her poor family. I will stop over there in a bit.
But on the lighter side.....I love the picture of the muddy Punk. She has that look like "Mom I was just sitting in my pool & all this mud just landed on me..honest!

  10. Betchya my kid can get dirtier than your kid and your dog put together. Did KC point out that if he was in such a hurry what was he doing waiting around to yell at her? Some people just need to be angry, and want the rest of the world to be angry with them. It usually helps smile, nod, compliment them on their beautiful children, then tell them to have a nice day.

  11. Sweet BethieBaby!
    Hey wait... I'm human...
    I think...

Hold on, let me go check...

    Yup all systems "go".

I am giggling at TJ peeing on the tree!
Once when my sister Barbara was here, we were all tooling around in her party bus.
Casey was/IS 5 months younger than Dixon and they are both handfuls.
As we were driving home from Bay Beach, Dixon really had to go.
Barbara stopped the van, and that little boy peed right out the side of it.
    All better then.
It was too far to hold it!
    hehehe
I had 4 kids (still do), she had 3 (still does), and that bus was packed!
    Poor little Dixon.
So yes, TJ is doing what he must.
And as long as he doesn't do it in church the world will be alright.

    Kinda like the dirt thing...
    hehehe

    XOXO

  12. Sweet RT!
I always say as long as it's not your name getting dirty then all is alright with the world.

And your idea of the firepit next weekend is a very good one.
    Maybe. Maybe. Maybe...

Methinks you are going to get a bit more rain than you bargained for, given what Miss Hannah will be bringing you...
As for the temps, those winds should be able to cool you off quickly.
    Think "wind chill".

    Love to you

    XOXO
    Anne

  13. No. I just figured it was a glitch in their systems...

  14. Sweet Pam!
I know that you and Cee do have a great relationship! Keep up those hugs, even if sometimes you don't want to!
    hehehe

Please let me know if Multiply answers you. Now y'all have me worried...

    Hot and humid?
I went outside and watered Miss Milly.
    Literally.
She wasn't too impressed, but sure didn't squirm too much about it either.

And no Mr. Miller today. Kelli thought it too warm for him. So he had to stay home with her kitties!

    About the dirt?
    I completely agree!

  15. Sweet RubyBlue!
I didn't think California got that hot with the Pacific Ocean right there.
    I am very sorry...

    Doesn't it?

    Love to you!

  17. Giggling at you keeping your mouth shut my Sweet Bug!
    HAHAHA!

Mariah and her family know that this is the best thing- For everyone to write and to write.
I KNOW how much that all helped me through all of Caseys surgeries and such.
    So please do go visit.
Not too sure if Mike and Micki will have time to read/write etc, but our hearts will be there when they do.

    Now about Punk!!!

    OMG You may be right!!!

Gabriel had been in the sandbox. he was throwing the sand on the lawn, and berta had hauled him out of there. but that is when I'd noticed Punk too.
Methinks Master G had dumped a shovel load of sand right on her head!
(Now why didn't I think of that)???

    XOXO
    Anne

    ReplyDelete
  18. hehehe
    Sweet Stanger!
    Betcha you're wrong!
Your kid is only 4 and has no fur!
Therefore after he gets a bath, you do not have to remove the dirt from the tub with a shovel.

Not sure what casey said to the guy. I think she just looked at him and went on her merry way.
She should've dumped a load of sand in his mouth!
    HAHAHA!
But gosh, in front of the kids???

    But WAIT...

I remember reaming another kid out in front of my kids- at a solo/ensemble thing.
I saw the kid as he was having a lunch break in the commons area.
Background: He would pick on my girls something awful on the bus- And this had gone on for a LONG time, even after I had called his father.
(Keep in mind that at that point I looked -and dressed- my Harley best too).
The kid looked at me (with a mouthful of hot dog). And promised to be nice.
He never did finish eating. (Hell I don't think he even swallowed that wiener)...
But hey, he never bugged my kids again either.

(I would have complimented him on his obedience, but I never saw him again)...

    Love to you

  19. LOL g'day my "human" friend..I hope Multiply doesn't get as idiotic as 360!!!

Some of my fav pics of yours are of Miss Punk in the pool!!!..She looks so debonair LOL..and good GAWD at her fur..I wonder if she could get any dirtier???...I'm still laughing at your comment about shoveling mud from the tub!!!

Your fire pit DID turn out awesome!!!..Everyone does such a great job there..I want to live with you LOL.

Gabriel looks like my kids when they were little..they always smelled like lil puppies lol...it made my Mom so made, but hey we lived on a farm..no time for keeping kids clean all the time..as you said..that's what bath's are for:)

How rude of someone doing that to Casey!!!..I don't know where some people get their attitudes, but I wish they'd leave them somewhere when they have to be in public..no only is that ignorant, but it's dangerous!!!!..I would've sat my fat arse there and not move!!! hehe

I love your flower and butterfly pic!!!..so beautiful:)

You've posted a beautiful tribute to baby Mariah..I hope her family is doing ok today!!!

Have a terrific evening Anne..and I'd love to see you bad self in your Harley best LOL...much love xoxo

  20. Stop laughing at me Sweet WyckieBaby!
(After all, YOU said it, I'm HUMAN)!
And yeah, I probably smelled worse than a puppy back then too!

    You may move in tomorrow.
Please bring a couple of snow shovels. We will need them by January.
    (Hey, this could work)!
    hehehe

    Rude?
Oh I promise I would have had a flashback if it had been ME that he did that to.
As far as her getting out of the car...
I taught all my girls that if they are ever in such a s(h)ituation to thread their keys between their fingers, and make a fist around the rest of it all.
Kinda like brass knuckles only pointier. (AND, it has the propensity to make people leave in a damned hurry with all that blood).

The butterfly picture strangely enough was taken about the same time that baby Mariah passed.
And I usually do not ever get swallowtails here.

I imagine Mike and Micki have their hands full, not only with the preparations, but with everybody coming home, and flying in for the funeral.
Morgan was to have started school today...

From my own experience I can tell you that AFTERWARD is when it is the very worst of it all.
    Everybody leaves.
    Goes home.
...Thinks you need to be alone, and leaves you with that.
All the hurry through the funeral and all, and then nothing but the quietude of your on tears and emptiness within and without.
So hang in there with/for them.
That CaringBridge journal isn't finished. Not by a long shot.

Dirty children and dirty dogs.. just means they are doing their jobs..hehe
Mr Gabe is just cute as he can be.. and I see Punk is still trying to be a black lab..hehe
That firepit did turn out stupendous! They did a great job!

As to that jerk that waited on Casey.. Was he more upset that she got the spot?.. hehe.. thats what I would have thought. Around here.. its like that all the time.. and most of the time you know if your going to Wallyworld Patience.. is a big thing! and you know not to get in a hurry. hehe

Im so sorry to hear of Mariah's passing.. very sad I cant begin to imagine the hurt and the pain of losing a child.

Mucho luv and lots of hugs

  24. HAHAHAHA!!! I think they did miss the "you" on that verification!!!!! ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!

We watched laughing as Punkie dove into the pool and tried to 'dig' a hole in the water to get the 'snake' that was filling up the pool!!! She was just trying to camoflauge herself and that is why she was a 'blackened' lab by the end of the afternoon...

AHH!!! Where is the lower half of Greg's legs in the picture of us by the fire pit!?!?!? Looks funny! He looks like he has pirate wooden pegs underneath his jeans just down to the knees... He does have all of the both of his legs... If that makes sense... Don't go there: I know what you are thinking...

Greg and Gabe just look like neither of which want to pay attention in the pic of all of us! Must be a guy thing...

Yes, Gabriel was still cute with all the dirt! Little kids are supposed to get dirty. If you don't learn to get your hands dirty by the time you are crawling, you'll never be able to do it when you get older either... Food for thought...

I can't believe that guy at wal-mart!!! He waited longer to stop behind my car and yell at me then he did for me to get that spot!! I might be mistaken, but I believe his car should have reverse and he very well could've gone somewhere else....

I'm still keeping Mariah in my thoughts and prayers... I have cried and cried... Even though I know she is in a better place, my heart still breaks for her family... I wish there was something I could do for them but I know nothing can lessen their pain... Only time will assist in helping them along with faith, hope and love...

    I love you Much Much

  25. Hiya Sweet Beep!

    That damn Punk! hehehe
She really DOES want to be a black lab!
    Or a dead one.
She didn't like the field full of migrants today as they picked the tomatoes, and let them know it too.

The jerk/dork/stupidSOB probably was mad at her.

    1st come, first served.
He probably wouldn't give up his seat on a bus to a little old lady either.

Does 'blackened lab' make her sound too Cajun? I would hate to have anyone drooling over my dog!
    Ok, that was really bad...
(But so is 'wok~ing' your dog)...

Gabriel is cute because of his DNA.
That, and he hangs around with us a lot too!

    Love to you.
Hope you are feeling better too.

  27. Who doesn't like a dirty kid after playing? What are they, commies? I'm totally into the whole dirt thing, he's a boy. And yes he is cute. And another thing, that's what they make sprinklers for.

Where's the poll to vote on if you're human?

How do you get those butterflies to pose for you?
    Peace - Khoolaid

  28. Mr KhoolMan;
You are too funny! (And a joy to be sitting here giggling in my living room at 4 in the morning)!

I have heard many people say that "Oh No, but they will get dirty."
You are right though, maybe they are commies.
hehehe (Thinking about one of Berta's friends that's now not only stupid, but a commie)...
Church clothes are one thing. The rest of the time it should all be understood that children WILL get dirty.

    Damn. (About the poll).
I knew I was missing something!

The butterflies are so enchanting, aren't they?
I just ask them to sit still fr a minute!
