[My] Life in Wisconsin

To Begin With?

Not a blur, kids.
The last few mornings have been a mite chilly...
.
.
Good Morning All;
This promises to be a longer entry. Maybe stare at this picture, and go grab yourself something hot, and then come back to read.

Before that frost arrived,
there was a mad rush to harvest everything from the fields.

An early hard frost also does nasty things to the more delicate plants.

As I have heard now, there are many of us that are a bit blogstipated.

As for myself, I have been a bit "under the weather"-
(Is 'under' really possible with respect to the above pictures)?!?

hehehe

My ear is still quite strange.
I have tried to make it better many ways; all of them quite ineffective too. (Sorry, but blowing my snot back up my eustachian tubes is NOT an option).
I personally prefer a kinder, and gentler, pace thank you.

I had a bit of company yesterday...

As many know, Gabriel turned 3 on the first of October.
What you may not know is that his foster family had an awful case of rotavirus running rampant.
I chose not to get him that day.
(Odd, or not, his own mother has not even called him to wish him a Happy Birthday) .

And a Curious George Bath bag.

Master Gabriel watched happily as Randy finally dug out my septic tank.

HAHAHA!
(Just happy I had the camera outside)!

Not wise to fall asleep on your tricycle!!!
.

On the way back from picking him up,
he and I stopped to buy a few onions...

They have a little petting zoo at Blazers
Gabriel was thrilled!

Too chilly outside, we came home then.

Warmer inside-
not by much though
.
My fuel oil will be delivered this coming week.
¤ sigh

.

.
.
I am happy there are two games for me to cheer on today.
Provided I can remain awake, I will choose my Packers over the Milwaukee Brewers, (but I will be channel hopping during the time outs).

So there you have it- a bit of catch up here.

I will be trying to get around soon to everyone's news and blogs.
Bear with me. I must first get in the shower.

Love to all.

XOXO
Anne

  1. Sure hope Master Gabriel didn't hurt himself when he fell off his trike! That was adorable!

Now, explain to me how a mother couldn't call their baby on his birthday!!! I sure hope she knows what she's missing.

Take care of yourself! It's to early in the season to be sick. We get our flu shots at work on the 14th. The nurses come right to the plant and set up in the training room and the best part is the shots only cost us $10!!! The company picks up the rest. I swear by flu shots and get one every year.

  2. Good morning Rock,

Hope you have a great day.. That litte man is just a cutie... Wishing him a Very Happy Belated Birthday!

You have frost and we havent even gotten down to below 50 here.. I think Darla told JT it got down into the 40s one or two days last week at the house in Arkansas .. but otherwise we are still hitting 90s during the day here in SE Texas with mid seventies at night being the low. Not that I envy that frost.. I DONOT! I do love fall weather though.. those cooler temps and the leaves on the trees changing color.

Me I gotta get off my duff.. and get my day started as well.. Mucho hugs to you

  3. Foster kids...been there, done that and still there....can so relate but unable to talk about. It is getting cooler but no frost here YET....I did get the fireplace going a couple of times though and added some Juniper branches....much easier breathing now. I am trying to wait as long as I can before actually turning on the heat just because my bill will more than double. I resent the fireplace because I would much rather have a wood burning stove any day!

  4. Love the pic of Gabe falling off his bike. Too funny. Reminds me of Artie Johnson from Laugh -in!
Are you serious? She didn't even call him for his Birthday? That is enough in my book to make her a bad mother! Shame on her!!!
Hope you feel better soon there my friend.
Big Hugs & kisses from afar. Don't wanna catch whatever it is!

  5. Sweet Pam;
I was standing not 2 yards away when that darn trike began to tip.
Nothing I could have done would have gotten me there fast enough though.
So I did what I could. ---I turned my camera on.

    No. He didn't hurt himself.
He was sleeping so was completely relaxed.
(That same concept where drunk drivers don't get hurt, but the others die).

Not sure wth Berta was thinking...

    XOXO
    Me

I have never gotten a flu shot...

  6. Good Morning Yourself Sweet Beep!
    hehehe
A LOW of 50 degrees? Holy Carp- That's what it is in my living room!
Ok, it's not that bad... yet.
Alan is going to be pissed, having to relight my furnace and all.

The frost was real thick too. yuck. And yes, this is very early for this kind of frost.

Speaking of duffs, mine needs just a bit of rearranging to watch these games.

    XOXO

Trying to have a good enough day...

  7. Sweet GG;
    Oh I wish I had a fireplace.
I have an oven though, and could be baking cookies. But then I can't watch the games.
    Lucky I have blankets!
    hehehe

We had foster kids all the while I was growing up.
Only one kept in touch although I was able to locate a few of them too.

You and your family earn your 'wings' by giving these kids such good care.

  8. Sweet Bug!
I am serious. And had to hide the incredulity on my response when K told me that she hadn't.

Casey called this morning. (She had brought Gabriel home last night).
K told Casey that Berta HAD finally called, and that she would be picking him up after he was back from mass.
    So that's something.
I hear she has a new job. Not sure what her hours are, but even if she works 10 hour days, that leaves 14 to visit/call her child on his birthday.

As for me, I was only happy that he was not really aware of the day/date.
If he was sick, I didn't really need more.
    Bad huh?

    Artie Johnson?
You made me laugh out loud!!!

    XOXO

  9. Glad to see you're up and around. Glad the birthday boy is having fun and doing the power nap thing. Didn't get the Brewers tickets so I'll be at work by 2pm. Will only get to switch between the Pack/Brewers for half of each event. At least I should be updated by book nerds about the scores.

Have a fun day and do some hot chocolate.

  10. The leaves have already started turning color down here. We had one morning last week with temps at 30. A little bit of a frost, but nothing like what you got.

Had a good laugh at Gabriel summer salting off his trike. (I felt bad laughing - but the picture was so funny!) Can't believe he's already 3!! I remember when he was starting to walk! Have we known each other THAT long? Time flies....

Maybe if you scream and holler during the Packers game your ear will clear. Worth a try anywho!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Gabriel is just too darn cute! One of the nice things about young kids is that they really don't have a concept of time yet. But there is no reason, not a good one anyway, not call your child on his birthday...

I guess I'm weird because I like cool weather. I'm gettin' geared to do the HAPPY SNOW DANCE! hehehe It doesn't really snow here, it rains ALOT tho...

I'm sorry you're ear is still buggin' ya... Maybe you need to visit the doc again? Maybe not if it's the same wench bag you seen the other day... Shall I get my plunger and come take care of your ear myself?? LOL!

I do hope you get to feeling better! Snuggle up under the blankets, watch your game and maybe your ear will un-plug as you have your football tourettes... LOL!

    Love Ya,

    Slurk

  12. love the rainbow colored orb watching over Master Gabe.....

looks like aside from the cold, you guys have been having fun!

  13. Grab something hot???? Girl I come over here to cool down! And looking at the frost on the windows is making my internal temperature drop a few digits at least. LOL!

It only dropped down to 41 here one night and curled the leaves on one of the green plants I keep on both sides of the entry way door. Guess I need to bring them inside. The little wimps! It's not even cold here yet!

Oh....I do see that orb there smack dab on that pony! How interesting!
Gabe looks like he is all smiles no matter what he is doing. The sweetie is just toooooo adorable!

  15. Mr. KhoolMan;
I am up. I am round. (Not a typo).
But this ear is the pits let me tell ya!

I switched between the Packers and Brewers.
    I got depressed.
    And fell asleep.
Woke to find out that I didn't miss anything of any importance either.
    Oh well.

    XOXO
    Me

    Hot chocolate?
If I had some mini marshmallows I would be sorely tempted.

  16. Sweet RT;
Nothing to scream and holler about...
    Am I becoming immune?
Or maybe I was napping through those parts?
Either way, Punk was not confounded and cornfoosed at any point today.
She is very happy about that.

Not sure how happy Gabriel was when his world turned upside down.
But yes, it was TOO funny not to post.
And once I realized he wasn't hurt, I felt no guilt whatsoever in my own mirth.

We were only to have a frost advisory that 1st night- No one said anything about such a hard frost.
    Damn meteorologists anyway.

    Dammitallanyway...
    Ear IS bugging me?
Could you please come up with a better term than "ear is bugging me" ?
I have had visions of bugs in my ear... Gratefully nothing has moved or buzzed (or spoken to me).
    Thank you.
    hehehe

If I go back to the doctor I am afraid he will put me on antibiotics.
I do not take those (well or often).
I have doubled, (no tripled now), up on my garlic intake since this all began.
It conflicts terribly with my Jován Musk.

Of course Master Gabriel is cute.
    Just look at his grandma!
    hehehe

    PS:
I truly laughed at the thought of you with one foot on my head, the other on the floor, and plunging away at my ear...

  18. Aw... Sweet Pea,
For all of my whining, we do have a bit of fun each day.
Without that, there is no reason to go on.

I had to scroll on up to that orb to remember. yes, it was very cool to have it there- Seems I have SO many pictures of him with his 'friend'.
    There is comfort in that.

    Sweet PeachieBaby-
    (Or shall I say "sweat")???
I actually begged Punk to come lay on my feet earlier. But she was way too comfy where she was.

    ~

You have my permission to steal the chilly pictures!
or go back to last winter, and pretend you were there.

    Better. Come on up.
    I have lots of room.
    Bring an extra shovel please.

  20. And yes, I had felt her ears before I'd thrown that little blanket on her too-
they were each cold as cold could be.
    Even her fur was cold!

Yup. Alan is gonna kill me.
Provided he will even be able to get out here tomorrow
    ...or tuesday
    ... or...
    hehehe

    Just a wee bit c-c-c-cold

  22. I'll be back later.
Someone- who shall remain nameless, but who snorts, made me fess up that the last movie I had seen in a theater was Titanic.
    Time to watch it again...
I have had it on 'pause' for almost an hour and a half now...
(Oh I love my DISH thing)!

    Time to go watch.

And after I fall asleep watching it I shall be back on soon as I wake up.
Methinks I have a fever- it seems hot in here of a sudden.

(No, it is NOT a hot flash. I had one once. This is not the same).

    XOXO

  23. G'day Anne:)..I tried and tried and tried again to post in your 360..I really need to give that up hehe

I must say that I envy you NOT for your frosty morn's..we're still enjoying our 80 degree/non-humid weather with sweet cool nights..I must say that this part of Texas (excluding the hurricane's) has the most beautiful weather around.

Happy Belated Birthday to lil Gabriel..He was born a day before mine..although I'm 26 years older than him *winks*..it's so nice to know other people that almost share my b-day:)

I'm sorry that you're still not feeling well..it's that dayumed WI weather I tell ya..cold, hot, cold, hot..not good for the body.

Your pics are just beautiful..even the dead flowers..I always loved any lil hint showing a change of season no matter what it may be.

Have a great evening..I have to work again!!!..One day I WILL win that lottery and we'll all be set hehe hugssssssssss xoxo

  28. I am so happy to see new pictures of Master Gabriel. He is so cute. It sure looks like he had fun with Grandma. Maybe too much fun by the looks of that overturned trike. Dalton looked a little like that today too except he thought it would be neat to ride it off of the porch. He soon found out it was not so neat.

We are starting to get chilly down here too. Nothing like your chilly though. We already turned our heat on. I think it might be a cold one this year.

Anyway I hope you are feeling better and how is that little pincushion of yours? Give Master Gabriel my love and have him give you some back for me. Get some rest. Lots of love! XOXOXOXO
