[My] Life in Wisconsin

Prattville Snow (Finally)!

magnify
Yeah. That's my head today...
,
,
Good Morning Everyone!
I have "lost" a few hours, on and off during the past 48. My head is still bad, but still better than yesterday and the day before. So it is improving. Not sure if yesterdays shot "worked" but I imagine if I hadn't gotten it as soon as we got back, I would be worse.
Even in the hotel room I slept good. Hopefully I can "lose" a few more hours today.

Casey has blogged about her appointment with Dr. Sutherland.
Please CLICK HERE if you missed it.

So on to my blog title!
And this note from William a few days ago; "
Whenever I send pics to you can post them."
Thank you William!

I have been SO excited since getting these pictures from Alabama!
As I am sure that Lawrence was also- To be able wake to "SNOW"!
How very cool!
In Williams note to me, he said that "Snow, in the heart of Dixie happens once every 9 or ten years."
(Lawrence was born in 2000, so that's pretty darned accurate)!

Williams Home
Their home, "picture perfect" as they woke!

"We woke up yesterday morning about 7:20 and it was white.
The news said it would be light snow flurries.
It lasted to about 11:00 or so and stopped.
By about 2:30 to 3:30 it had mostly melted.
This morning all of it was gone."
(From William 3-2-09).

So I ask, isn't he gorgeous?!
Never mind, you don't have to answer. See, I already know!

Love to all.

    This just in.
It is currently 48 degrees. And unfortunately for my head, sunny too.
BUT, that said, I just HAVE TO get outside; and maybe wade through what is left of the snow and the mud to make it to the woods!

If I don't come back I am dead.

    Love to all

  14. Even only 9 or 10 times during one year would be nice.
And like Alabama to have it all go away by the next day would be very handy!

  17. I love watching kiddies enjoying the snow. It was the one nice thing about snow in the UK when we went back, there were snowmen EVERYWHERE. There was one standing outside the CO-OP store near Mum G's village with a sign asking people to look out for falling white stuff. The next day, his head had fallen off in the quick thaw. The sign was now propped between the head and the body (still a good 4ft high) and now asked people to look out for a shifty looking character who was last seen knocking heads off snowmen! Crazy brits!

There was even one outside the firestation complete with yellow jacket, helmet and axe.

That's the only problem with Canadian snow, it's more like polystyrene bits. It's not 'snowball snow'. Shame really!

  18. Every night on the news- (from July to the following June it seems) they show all the kids out playing and shoveling etc etc etc

Damn shame those same kids have to grow up, right?

I adore the story of the snowman who lost his head!
Quick thinking like that is HUGE with me!

Our leftover snow today IS snowball snow! Yours will get there too. I promise.
Takes a bit of time and warmer temps to put moisture back in the freeze~dried polystyrene!

  19. Damn fine thing I don't have a tractor.

  20. I loved the snow pictures. Lawrence is such a cute kid!

The snowfall that blanketed the south missed the mountains, it went further south. We got a little, but hardly any accumulation. Athens, GA, which is 2 hours south of here got 6" of snow and lost power for a couple of days.

Enjoy your walk in the woods, maybe it will make your head feel better.

  22. I have heard others say that they missed the lions share of it too!
But you will be gardening anyway- With your new helpmate!

That, and you have power. How nasty that people lose power over a few inches of snow!
Hope they have lots of blankets!

  23. Oh. And I even took a few (very few) pics of my walk earlier.

  24. you do have a tractor... a small one. I am sure he thinks that is sexy too...

  25. What wonderful pictures! I know what its like to have to wait for pictures of the grandchildren getting to do things like snow angels and playing in the snow. Sorta a bittersweet moment.

He is a good looking boy and I know you are very proud.

Hope the head is feeling better soon.

    Mucho hugs

  26. I say we send them a good portion of the snow for the rest of the year. Take care of your spunky little self.

  27. Great pictures! All of them! And yes....Lawrence is a cutie pie!

I am still jealous they got more snow than we did. It just aint fair I tell ya! It just aint fair!

Hope that head pain has lessened considerably today!

  28. What wonderful pictures. I thoroughly enjoyed them and you have quite the knack for presenting them Anne. Love your captions. Yes, he is gorgeous but then that goes without saying, right?!? You take care now. I remember those migraines. Amazingly mine finally stopped awhile after I divorced my first husband. Hmmmmm......think there might have been a connection there? Guess in my case that just proved that as a friend he was great but as a husband he was a pain in my...............head!

Take care and go and loose a few more hours. Just feel better.
    Hugs,
    Lil

  29. HA! I love the snow pics! I have seen them before but there is just something so magical about the way children love to play in the snow!!! He sure is a pro at making snowballs! I wonder if he attempted to make a snowman at all during those short hours that they had snow... I don't know if he would've had enough, but it is always fun to try!

I'm sorry that you had another migraine, but glad that I could help to try and make it better. I know it didn't fully work as you still have the darned thing... I keep praying for them to stop so that you can go forever without migraines! That would be a wonderful gift...

HAHAHA!!! The tractor song is great! I've always loved that song!!! Oh, and I re-read your comments and you got it from when DeeAnne said "he thinks your brain is sexy"... And so it became! LOL!!!!! That's too great!

You all have so much fun! Oh, and DeeAnne's right, NO DYING allowed! Unless you just mean "sleeping soundly" by it, then go ahead, you need a great night's sleep... Maybe that would knock that nasty migraine away!

Alrighty... I'm going to try laying down earlier tonight and hopefully I can get back into my normal sleeping patterns... The spaghetti sauce that I made last night caused quite the ruckus in my abdomen... My stomach was making noises so loud that I thought it was going to wake up Greg! Such awful cramping with that too... I did take some extra enzymes and an hour or two later ended up falling asleep... I guess that means that I must take extra with tomato based meals...

Speaking of enzymes... I am supposed to have mine available for me tomorrow sometime... If I can get out of the parking lot here in the morning I will head over and I can work on those quilting lessons! Oh! I forgot, I must make a hot pan holder first... Then it will be time for the quilting! I'm really excited and worried at the same time... I hope it turns out! Even if it doesn't though, I will always be proud of the first attempts! Like the buttons I fixed! It was great to do that!

Alrighty, well, I'm going to get ready for bed... I love you MUCH MUCH!!!

  30. Snow in Prattville must be like clear and sunny days in Flintville, lol.
Lawrence sure looks like he has a nice life in Alabama. He sure is a handsome boy.
I can imagine you would want to go there...you could even take your ice cleats off and leave them in Wisconsin!
I bet you missed Mama Milly on your walk. Such a special girl she was! She will always live on in your heart and give it the extra warmth you need to get through some of those headaches.
BTW, I hope you are pain free by now.

~on to the next blog now....Im trying to catch up :)

I found your relieved pain in your head. My head has been killing me for days now. Let me know when you want it back. haha I hope things are ok in your neck of the woods. I am playing catch up over Spring Break.
