[My] Life in Wisconsin

A Quiet Walk...

Good Christmas Eve Morning One and All;

Right off the bat here, I should like to establish what has happened to my little 'mouf' in the past 24 hours ... Suffice it to say that it hurts like heck. And NO, I have NOT taken any of the oxycontin (sp) crap the new guy prescribed me. Since Reianna's death, I have been too afraid to take most stuff, (even IF it gets prescribed, knowing her own prescription is what killed her)... But I have stayed with the 'tried and true' that hasn't done me in... yet... hehehe

And so, my Holy~Holly~"Daze" continues...

I received this in an email from a dear friend... and thought it way wonderful not to post for everyone to see...

Just another "take" on these precious days. Think, and ENJOY!

I took Miss Milly and Miss Punk back to the woods yesterday afternoon. (I feel as though I am 'grounded' or worse because somebody told me to take a load off and go sit and heal... Like I said, 'that is NOT going to work' with me anyway).

It was a bit mucky, but so nice to walk, (yes the heartbeat and my steps were having a field day in my mouth)... But ignore that, it was oh so much fun to get back there once again! (I never did do well when someone told me I wasn't to do something/anything/nothing)...

But it was a really beautiful walk too. I did not throw any sticks over the cliff for Punkie to catch. (No pinecones either)! Click HERE!

But at least with her Mama's help she has found a much easier and safer way to the bottom, and to the river.

They each tried their hardest to fall in!!! Not too deep where they were, but with our recent snowfall and melting, it was a bit overflowing around the bend. Milly just HAD to find some nasty mud and give herself a mudbath-

(Woman, thy name is vanity)...

Then to rinse herself off in the shallow part.

She missed a spot! hehehe
And then to quick RUN up the hill...

And they both reek/stink to high heaven... PEEEEEE~YOU!!!! Glad that I had given Miss Milly a brand new bag of red cedar shavings in her little house just yesterday; and yes, Miss Punk will get a shower this morning (and then it will be HER turn to be grounded; at least til all my company leaves tomorrow)... And she'd better behave!!!???!!!

A warmish day... (I'll take it)! And Miss Punkin was trying to pull all of the 'weeds' in the field... She had a pretty wild time, as I believe that some of those roots had found a bit of frost too. (Happy though that she has NOT forgotten how to help me out)!

First you find a really good stalk...

Then you pull it out...

And then you shake all of the dirt off!

And lay it nicely down and on to the next one!

(I am thinking this should keep her occupied til our Spring thaw)!

And she found out the hard way, that no matter how hard she pulled, grunted and dug herself in that her 'technique' was NO GOOD against a very solid pine tree stump!

I shall have to give her credit for even trying her level best though...

We found a brand new, baby, newborn, Christmas tree for any of you who do not and will not have one this year... You may have this one to look at... and to decorate in any way you might choose!

Fragile, delicate; and yet in 100 years it will still be virtually indestructible...

The beauty of Mother Nature prevails almost anything; (except the fury of Mother Nature and the ignorance of Man)...

I shall close for today, and get my stinky dog a bit more acceptable smelling! (Yes, myself too while I am at it)!

Have a peaceful, prayerful and very safe Christmas Eve...

From ALL of us... To all of you!!!

XOXO

Anna-Anna, Miss Punkin and Miss Milly!!!!

Nog of the Egg for you...

Hey Wench; this is exactly what I had pictured all those months ago!!!

Good Merry Eve of Christmas Eve to ALL!!!

(that does TOO make sense)!

Sense? I do not think I have the simple sense I was born with any longer, and am tired of feeling that way... Am exceedingly tired of my stupid mouth too...

I did go back in to the Oral Surgeon (of course my regular Dr. wasn't there). New Dr. looked in my mouth, grabbed some metallic probie thing, and then poked me. Out of simple reflex alone, my right arm shot up, and I hit his arm. He was quite indignant about that! (Well, duh, so was I)! He said, "Now THAT was NOT necessary." Blah...

Swallowing, I asked him what the heck the sharp shard was? He answered, (and I really believe he took me for an idiot), telling me that our teeth are separated by bone, and that "we want to leave it alone." When asked, he said it it neither tooth nor bone fragment... I then asked why the danged pain? He said he didn't have any idea why the painkillers weren't doing their job, but sometimes people have really BAD pain from all of this. (No kidding, really)? Ya think?!?

He then proceeded to write me another prescription for yet a different painkiller. (Hey Doctor, my arm coming up earlier was MINOR, compared to what I want to do to you now)!

I DON'T WANT ANY MORE FREAKIN' DAMNED PAINKILLERS!!! I ONLY WANT THE STUPID PAIN TO GO AWAY!!!

He told me to get the script filled and to take them anyway... (I believe he is NOT telling me something)? Healthy, safe paranoia? So I take the script out to Oneida and get it filled. While there, I mosey on down to the dental counter. (It was quarter to noon; and they closed at noon yesterday)... I told the receptionist what I was told by the oral surgeon dude. She pulled my file right away, spoke to a doctor, and promptly set me up with the top DDS they have. I go in Tuesday afternoon.

I went back to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription. The pharmacist asked me had I ever taken these before? I said no, I had never even HEARD of percocet. He explained that when I took them I needed to go sit on the couch and do nothing.

(Um, yeah, THAT'S not gonna work)...

I bring them home, and look at the bottle... It doesn't say percocet, it says oxycodone. (NO FREAKIN' WAY that is going down my throat)!

After I had gotten my prescription, I met Casey at Tony Romas, and we had a nice lunch... And we had steak too! (Yes, I had taken a vicoden with 3 cups of coffee before putting anything else in my mouth). And so, CaseyAnne and I have had our little Christmas lunch. (Will have to catch up with the rest of the girls later)!

Now, as you well know, a holiday for Casey just wouldn't be a "Holiday" without her being sick.

And as a few of you know, she has the flu AND e-coli, (a urinary tract infection).

I call it "Fl~e~Coli" !!!

SO she has been more than a bit ill this past week. They keep changing her meds as her cultures keep coming back as nonresponsive to whatever antibiotic they have her on... But she is up and around- and today she will be going down to Wisconsin Dells to celebrate a Christmas with her boyfriends grandparents.

They will be leaving town shortly--- The roads are a bit icy around here, but thankfully they are heading south and the roads should then be just watery.

Before I had come home yesterday, I stopped at WG&R Furniture and did buy a bar table for in the kitchen; complete with stools that swivel! (And how come I have been cleaning for the past 2 days, and cannot even tell)???

OK, time for a giggle here... (At MY expense I might add)! I came on here yesterday afternoon. Mamica had asked to post my little forwarded "Jesus Writes" story... She had very nicely tried to include a link to my page, but for whatever reason, the link was only partially highlighted. Just for the heck of it, I clicked on it... It came up for some Anna that was/is addicted to sex!!! Why do I find that vewy, vewy amusing!!! I did write and tell her. (Hey, a laugh is a laugh at this stage for me)!

Are you tired of seeing my silly Christmas lights/crabapple tree pictures then? Too dang bad for you. hehehe

The first I had taken the night before the snow came... It was rainy and wet, and I loved the way the lights had reflected on the water in my yard...

Note the GREEN grass!!! Is this REALLY Wisconsin in December?

And then yesterday evening it had begun to snow.

Still a bit of GREEN!

And snow!

And yes, getting the outside decorated in white was pretty... But I didn't want to shovel, especially since I am to do nothing (but sit on the couch perhaps) til Tuesday.. The forecast today claims that Mother Nature will make the little teeny~weeny bit of snow we did get, disappear for me. (Thank You, Lord)!

And Punkie KNOWS 'something' is going on, but of course does not understand the hustle and bustle of these last few days either... So she has taken to changing her diet.

She ATE my damned earmuffs!!!

And had to go sit in the corner for it too.

hehehe

I'd better close and go back to trying to find my house...

The countdown is ON, Friends!!!

My prescription for you then is to go have an eggnog and relax with somone who loves you!!!

XOXO

Anne

Disorganized Comorbidity?

Good Morning... (At least I hope it is for all of you)!
Yes, the stress of these last few days is rearing its ugly head, isn't it!
I see it in your blogs; and even in the lack of them for some of you.

Know this, and remain calm. Christmas will come whether or not we are 'ready' hehehe

I have come across the most amazing link for anyone that is suffering from Migraines and/or Hypothyroidism.
And yes, your hypothyroidism may even be undiagnosed... Better to be safe than sorry though. If you are suffering and/or just plain curious; please
CLICK HERE . (Gosh I hope that link works).  One of the paragraphs I did not understand, so I clicked on the word "subclinical"
This it what it offerd to me"

"Headache and Migraine Glossary: Subclinical"

Subclinical Definition: 1. undetected 2. not causing any symptoms

Examples:
Definition 1: Even subclinical hypothyroidism can make migraine management more difficult.
Definition 2: Today's imaging technology, such as MRI, can detect subclinical white matter lesions on the brains of some people with migraine.

WHITE MATTER LESIONS???? Uh~oh.... (And no, I did not look THAT one up)!

And yes, my Green Bay Packers WON last night!!! Not pretty. (But much like "sloppy pool" a win is a win)!!! I have not had my telly on yet, so I am hoping that everybody got home in one piece; safe and sound. The temps have actually risen overnight; at least they did here... When I added that late P.S. to yesterdays blog, it was 33 degrees. When I woke this morning, it was 36. Perhaps all went well with the safe and sound factor there.

And then... comes our forecast... here are a few words that the WBAY~TV meteorologist had on my own personal forecast this morning, and I quote; "Areas to the northwest of Green Bay could see 3-7" of snow by early Saturday morning." I believe I am NW of Green Bay... But hopefully not THAT far- (YOKES!!! He didn't say how far)? The Green Bay Forecast calls for only 1~3" of the white sh*~ (...um.. ...er...) "stuff" Hmmm.... About the only good thing with that then would be the warmer~ish temps... It will then be a heavy wet snowfall so this will then give me the opportunity to go build a snowman!!!

It has been raining for the past two days- Lots and lotsa MUD... (Not to be confused with the little doggie poops that, until yesterday lay askew all over the yard). Since today is garbage day; (and since my neighbors have had problems with garbage~pickers), I choose to gather these little poopie piles until Thursday... I then put them in a little bag ON TOP of my trash for the week. (I almost feel badly for anyone that might be thinking on picking through my dumpster)! NOT!!! ("Almost", once again, was the definitive word in that statement)! hehehe

*** Now please put your food to the side-

(Uh-Oh, YUP, still ANOTHER warning here)!

Since my "mouf" has now returned to a more 'normal' state, I have discovered something that actually made my skin crawl last night... and yes, even gave me that sinking tummy feeling... After supper, (bean soup), and after the brushing, salting, and rinsing, I was feeling so good about my mouth... When I sat down to watch "THE GAME", my tongue naturally migrated to those two little holes... In the top one I still have a bit of pain... And lo and behold, if I didn't get poked in my tongue! ??? There is perhaps a part of a tooth that he missed??? Oh God, please say it isn't so.

I spoke to Zoe at halftime I think, (my personal nurse). She offered that perhaps it was a bit of food that I had 'missed' clearing/cleaning out of there? (Not. ...unless I have taken to chewing on glass)... Boy, talk about the Holiday Stress Factor! That would explain it!!!

But since the (quite solid) shard, and the pain, are still there this morning I can only cry... Oh, I do NOT want to have to go back in for all of that crap just 3 days before Christmas for cryin' out loud!!! IS what it is... But then again, it would explain much too... (like WHY I am probably by now addicted to that stupid vicoden)?

And forgive me for this, but I believe the correct terminology for how I feel about this would be Please wish me well? I am so mad/sad/upset if that really"so very PISSED OFF!"

And after I go in, I am sure I will tell you how I really feel! hehehe
(Lucky for him that damned check cleared yesterday)...

But I will call in... AGAIN... Have less than 2 minutes to get this posted for you; then to get my backside, (and various other parts), in the shower, get dressed, and make that scary call...

Hope you all have a grand Friday!!!!

XOXO
Anne

Credit, Where Credit is Due...

A late P.S. to all... and especially those with green and gold blood in their veins... (ok ok maybe a bit of purple too)...

I know how much fun it is for us to 'pick on' the Vikings... (And vice~versa)... But maybe please just say a little prayer that ALL the 'fans' (and 'fanatics'), might arrive home safely after the game is over. Already it is nearing the freezing point... (It is a little after 6PM)... And it is raining a cold (straight through to your bones) kind of rain/snow/sleet. I know how very many people will be on the roads; and these roads will very possibly turn treacherous for everyone. The road warnings are coming out on all the TV stations already...

Be Safe.

Enjoy the game.

I am thinking that the only REAL winners here will be the ones that get home safe and sound.

**********************************************

Good Morning to Everyone;

I took this picture well after sunset last night... and there was such a special glow, coming from above, that really was SO neat to see; and I just HAD to share it with you all.

I have been up for the better part of four hours already.... Catching up even on my little emails that have gone so neglected as of late. I have inadvertantly hurt someones feelings by sending out an email entitled "Jesus Writes"... It came back to me shortly, (with an awful admonishment to me for sending it out). Of course I have already sent my apologies... I had mistakenly thought that since the person in question had many displays of Christmas within their own page/blogs, that receiving this email would not have been a problem. I am SO sorry.

My words, then, to the rest of you are these... Please let me know (gently if possible) that you would prefer NOT to receive these emails. I believe that the email addresses are/were provided on the 360 when we hit 'accept' as a friend, and I know I have taken many liberties in forwarding things to you. If I have been offensive I apologize now. Some things are very dear to my heart; and some things are just damned funny. (To me anyway)...

Again, my apologies if I have ever offended any of you; whether by my own Beliefs or even with my off~color forwarded jokes...

That said, it is time to move on to what I had planned on writing first in here; with respect to the title of this blog...

Santa came early this year. Santa came to the Post Office. (And Santa is even an artist)!

Yes, that is an 'original' of my Amos~ and he is right where he LOVED being; (right on top of the fridge)!

And yes, I cried like a baby as I finally opened it... This, done by a friend. And along with her kind and generous heart, she has an awesome talent! (I think, seeing this, my girls are all probably shedding a tear or two also). What a grand gift... And yet I feel so mightily humbled too...

In the company of greatness! I thank you again!

For Amos' Story, CLICK HERE (Or maybe the links in the tag cloud will work too)...

I also received pictures from Jenne of the wedding, and even though I would LOVE to post them all, I will not. She will probably be doing so on her own blog- as her time allows... However, I do particularly love this one!

(Oh, I should have made this bigger). Jennifer, Aaron and Isaiah.

My 'mouf' still hurts, but not as badly as it has... (And, along with our county 'boys in brown', no mushrooms have appeared in said mouth either). Yup, I have lost my touch... (And yes, I did leave the check on the counter; but I also laughed out loud at that comment yesterday that questioned whether or not I had)!!! **evil grin** Next time kids...

I HAVE to find my house!!! It is under all the mess here... SOMEWHERE!!! That email this morning kinda took the wind out of my own sails; so a whole lot of work will restore these spirits of mine!

On that note, I shall close for today!

4 days and counting, kids!

Are you ready??? Cuz I sure as heck am not!!!

XOXO

Anne

'MOSTLY' It's Common Sense

"MOSTLY" It's Common Sense... December 20, 2006

Good Morning Everyone!

Oh my goodness, (YOKES)!, it is December 20th already!! And Miss Amy, you will be happy to know that YOURS was the only card I got back in my box... (thus far anyway), marked "postage due". hehehe ... Oops, I promise it shall go out in the mail today then!

I called back to my dentists office, (just wondering if they were creating drug addicts or ignoring their patients).... But a different gal answered the phone, telling me to at least call the oral surgeon who had done the extractions.

I did, and THEY told me to be there within the half hour. And so I made record time, (and watching my gas gauge carefully as it was sure getting down there)... I arrived with 7 minutes to spare!

He took one LQQK in my mouth, and proclaimed how wonderfully I have healed! Speaking of ME, he also said 'beautiful' and 'mouth' in the same sentence! (Maybe he had his share of drugs yesterday too)? But anyway, as a reaction to the abuse my mouth has taken, he said there could be a bit of a dry socket on the bottom back, but was NOT about to disturb what healing has already gone on since it looked so good. He also gave me a prescription for my mouth, thinking that his aforementioned abuse might also have triggered a fungal infection. A rinse that will take away the burning and all... (It hasn't yet)... Shall I be expecting mushrooms then?

Hmmmm....... ?????????

Casey had come with my prescription refill, and I was so lucky that she was here to begin with; otherwise I would have had to waken Miss Valerie from her nap and taken her along.

Valerie, still a bit short from that awful chicken nugget experience...

But anyway, Thank God for KCN, that she was here to keep an eye on Miss Valerie!!! But she also said she HAD to leave here by 4:30. It was only 2... so, no problem, that...

Or, gee Batman, at least it shouldn't have been...

...Simply because 'mostly' I can drive fast if need be!

And 'mostly' I am a patient sort of person.
(C'Mon, let's face it, I gave birth 4 times, and they have all survived to adulthood. That, in and of itself should be a testimonial to the level of my patience).

'Mostly' I can abide any/everything, save for obvious stupidity.

(But mostly I do NOT like eggplant either). hehehe

Now remember how I said my gas gauge was 'getting down there'? (please also keep in mind the 'title' of this blog).

By the time I had left the OS office and restarted my car, the "low fuel" light had come on. And since I have ONLY ever used Shell Brand Gas in my cars, I was happy that there was one of those stations not even half a block away...

I pulled in, and as I normally do, I look for my credit card so I do not have to go in. Oops. No credit card, as I had given it to Casey to be doing a bit of shopping. And I think "Oh well, I have my checkbook."

So I filled up the tank, went inside and grabbed a Sierra Mist for Miss Valerie- (her 7~UP was all gone); and I proceeded to the checkout. I wrote out my check, adding my driver license number AND my phone number. (I do NOT have any identifying info on my checks, as per any 'full faith' warnings that had come out over 4 years ago from attorneys etc; including the Snopes warnings... And hey how about those plain old common sense lectures that we all should have gotten already from our own banks and credit unions? ...As a sidenote, I also have my P.O.BX number preprinted on my checks.

The gal gave me my total, and I wrote the check out. She took it, was going to run it through, and asked for my I.D. I showed it to her.

She then wanted to write my home address on the check. I told her she could not do this; however that I would not object should she care to write it down elsewhere and hold onto it for a week or so, until she was sure the check had cleared. She got downright ugly with me then. And GASP!, she even threatened to call the manager!!! Ooh.. (Having run these stations, and for too many years, I simply told her to go ahead). Please insert another "Ooh."

She did. When she had hung up the phone, she told me that I had to let her write the info down.

(I don't think so).

And so I again, (still) politely declined to 'let' her do so. (With my mouth hurting so much, I must NOT have made my point clear when I had refused her this the first time)... And so I repeated my denial. She said OK, that she would call the manager again. (I must really be obtuse, because I gave her my blessings all over again)...

And OH MY, she said the 'manager' wanted to speak with me! Oh wait, have I mentioned that I am NOT the type to be intimidated, gracefully or otherwise- (Or do intelligent people simply recognize this about me)?

And so I spoke to the manager, who, when pressed, turned out to be the assistant manager- Note: generally in these parts (and with all due respect to the company in question), an asst manager needs NO more than an ability to count money and stock the cooler... (And both things only have to be 'close'). Simply "amazing"!!! And sad but TRUE.

Once more I was adamant. This girl informed me that she had a handwritten sign on the counter that stated "No PO BX's" (Yup, I'd seen it). And she was very upset about that. Now at that point, I might have informed her that I believed State Law would supercede her handwritten sign. State law provides that the customer needs to make every possible attempt to pay. (And yeah, I really do know this 1st of all it would be common sense to 'mostly' anyone; and 2ndly, by my many years in retail). She hung up saying she would call her General Manager, which again, might have been after I had asked HER for her own danged home address...

Oh boy oh boy oh boy!!!!

Oh crap you say?

Nah. (I have also been G.M. for an LLC service station)! hehehe

And so I sat and waited for the phone to ring once more. I believe that many years ago, this is exactly the time when my own mothers' hand would appear out of nowhere... Just "to wipe that 'sass' off my face!"...

No hand appeared; but the phone did ring.

YAY! It was for ME!!! (Imagine that)!

I said, "Merry Christmas, this is Anne." And I surely am glad that I said that right off the bat, because this gal started cussing at me immediately, berating me etc etc etc...

...(I 'll bet her hubby didn't have an easy time of it last night)...

But anyway, she had concluded her tirade with, "Do you understand?"

I calmly said, "No, could you please repeat that?"

And she started all over again!

(I swear on my parents' graves that she actually restarted her entire tirade)!!!

At that point, I simply set the phone down on the counter- quietly, and walked back over to the register- As I picked up my little things, I quietly said "I think she's still talking."

She was. But the gal had customers and couldn't get to the phone right away. I walked out. And of course now in my car, I called my friendly deputy and explained the "shituation" This, before I had even pulled away... I was only doing my level best to make sure I had given the little lady ample time to tell the G.M. I wasn't on the phone anymore; and to make sure she got my license plate number too. Honest.

Because God only knows that the fake cameras they have won't be recording anything! Any semi~idiotic FOOL knows that when there is a sign (usually handwritten, hehehe) on ANY pump, ANYWHERE, that says "Credit cards only" after such~n~such hour, that there are NO cameras on that pump!

"SHEESH"...

...As I would say, there is nothing like free 'advertising for drive~offs' (and then having the managers wonder WHY there are so many drive~offs on those same pumps during the day)?

Strangely enough now that the word "DUH" comes to my mind...

Yuppers, the words "DUH"??? & "HIRED"!!! seem to be going hand~in~hand at these places!

I had to stop at Fleet Farm and pick up a rug- (or three)... and having already wasted so much time at the stupid station, I went really fast through the store- I didn't think that possible 6 days before Christmas, but I was wrong! I just ran everybody over is all.

(There might still be a little old lady in aisle 5)!

Then on to the drug store where I had to shell (hehehe) out almost $84.00... Oh happy (crappy) day!!!

I called home to see if the sheriffs department had shown up yet, and told KCN to tell whomever that I would be there by 4:15, and to simply have them wait.

No such visitors though.

*sigh*

Damn!!!

'Mostly' I must be losing my touch!

Have a 'mostly' wunnaful day... (And please, if you comment, keep in mind that I just might be in need your phone number for bail money yet)!!! hehehe

I shall be patiently awaiting my visitors then... (with mushrooms growing out of my mouth)?!?!

XOXO
Anne

I Only Got Spanked Once!

Good Belated Morning!

First of all, I need to apologize to Miss Zoe... I didn't know Valerie couldn't have chicken nuggets. Mea Culpa 1,000 times over.

And I didn't think that if she did, it would have this effect on her either!

She is now MUCH shorter. And you were right, they stunted her growth.

Actually CaseyAnne and Miss Valerie were having quite a time while I napped for an hour yesterday. The picture was the result of their own good time. A bit "Tim Conway"~ish, but ever too cute not to share!

Je'NIFFER' called in the evening. Yes, her and Aaron are married; with the honeymoon to boot come January! She said since there was NO music in that church, that Aarons sister did the "Da~da~da~Da" (Here Comes the Bride)... as Jenne walked down the aisle! Kind of a funny moment to be telling your children and grandchildren! (And Thank God that his sister was there to provide the music)! I still haven't gotten over the fact that there are any churches, anywhere, that do not allow music. How very boring. Maybe Jenne will just have to head up the CHOIR! (This was "Church of Christ"- Aarons mothers church).

But back to Valerie and I. I really was a very good girl, and as the title suggests, I only got spanked once. (Ask Miss Casey, and she will tell you that even Miss Punk got TWO spanks yesterday)!! Haha Punkin!

I sent Casey and Valerie to the Post Office in the afternoon. (And got in trouble for not telling them that there would be a LINE) ...that line went out the door, and around the building, down the main streets of Suamico and almost all the way to Sobieski, of people wanting to mail their little parcels and cards. Casey and Valerie patiently waited in that line to be mailing mine! Oops. How was I to know that yesterday was the last day to mail anything if you wanted it to be there for Christmas? Gee, but I don't know if this extends to the cards that I sent to Canada or Bangkok though... hehehe... (I'll bet not)!

I finally broke down and called the dentist this morning. The lady that answered said she would have NO idea if I had those 'dry sockets' (that a few people have told me about), and told me just to keep taking the painkillers... (I would, but I ran out this morning- late last night actually). Called in for a refill then, and the gal at the pharmacy asked why I had waited so long to call in for a refill? HUH? C'Mon, I got 15 pills last Thursday, not knowing if I would even need even one of them, so how was I to know I would even NEED that stupid refill in the 1st place? (And she was mad at me for not calling sooner)? But the bottom line is that she at least agreed to process the refill. I shall have Casey pick them up for me as she is already in town this morning. Has anyone ever had the dry sockets? Guess maybe they will heal without going in? Don't know.

I am sure that by now you have received word that you have been chosen to be Time Magazines "Person of The Year" YES, YOU!!! How very very cool is that?!? CLICK HERE! And of course that is where we all belong anyway!

Oh, I had better close for now and get back to writing a few more cards. My little Miss Valerie helped me so much yesterday by rubber~stamping the backs of them for me! But of course there are many more to do today!

Hope all are having a wonderful Tuesday! Do let me know about dry sockets too... (UGH, what an awful term; I am sure it sounds much worse than it is)?

XOXO
Anne

Red Stockings... and a Wedding! (?)

Good Monday Morning Friends and Family; GREEN BAY PACKER fans (and fanatics) too!

How very exciting is this?

One one short week before Christmas; only a fortnight before 2007 arrives with its hopeful face in all of its glory!!!!

The photo above was taken last Christmas, as Valerie was donning her red stockings. It is a tradition here; dedicated to my mother, that all who partake of my little brunch wear red stockings. Even the very tiniest and the newest of humans wear the red!

My mom always had red socks- They were warm, and there were very few days that she did not have them on... (Wish my PSC would be working once again because you could see her sexy little feet in those socks)! Her red socks, almost a trademark for her, were even worn to meet her Maker when she passed! Now I have heard stories that when one goes to Heaven that they are met in the very same clothing they were buried in. God has a sense of humor if this is true, because think of all the nude bodies that have been cremated; and then think of all the pretty stockings too! Since my own beliefs waver a far cry from all of that, He recognized only her soul and her spirit when she showed up at His doorstep!

I shall have to type fast this morning- Miss Valerie is coming to babysit me for today and tomorrow, and I have not even gotten in the shower yet. I am glad she is 5 because she will inderstand what she can/cannot do while I am in there. Usually she will just sit and chat with me anyway. A good thing.

A(nother) restless night; having made the mistake of napping in the afternoon, and so could not fall to sleep when I should have. Again I found myself writing cards out in the wee hours of the morning! (Think this falls under the "whatever it takes" line of thought)! Not finished. People will just have to understand... (but if they know me, they already do)! hehehe

And for the last minute 'do-it-yourself'(ers) and crafty-type people, here is a link to handmade FAST gifting that doesn't cost an arm and a leg! CLICK HERE.

Time to get my backside in motion for the day... My mouth feels like a pincushion. (What's up with that)?

"I DO" believe that Miss Jennifer and Aaron are "Merry~Marrying" this afternoon! (Please take a moment to click on her name there and to visit her blog and leave a comment or two to wish them well)!

Does anyone else have an anniversary in December?

(Does anyone else wear red stockings on Christmas)?

Time to fly! Have a 'wunnaful' Monday!

XOXO

God Bless Us, Everyone!

Crazy in The Night... Added ps "WORD"

Good Morning Friends, Family, Freaks and Wenches!
hehehe

I am the quintessential, independent, single lady... er, most of the time anyway... And very few things "boo~spook" me.

(It occurs to me now that last night was quite the exception to THAT rule)...

After napping most of the afternoon away, I was "up and at 'em" later on.

Knowing- (and loving)- the fact it was so peaceful, I decided to write out a few more of my Christmas cards... Punkie at my feet, and every now and then some silly noise from outside. The deer have taken to mowing down the birdfeeders as I fill them, and knocking the contents to the ground so they can get their mouthfuls. Leaving the seeds and feeds scattered on the ground presents no problems for the birds- as they can just as easliy get their fill from down there... Well, what's left of it anyway. (It does seem to get a bit $pendy for me though)!

I am far from being done with my little cards, as I always write a few lines to everybody. I have a girlfriend that orders her cards, complete with their names on them and simply puts them in an envelope. To me this takes so much of the "holly"day spirit from the cards... (and it's kinda lazy too)! But that is only MY opinion.

I actually use the cards I receive to 'decorate' with... Putiing them up here and there- and of course the ones that have the nicest messages are always at eye~level, ready for reading, should anybody want to see.

But, back to my late-night worries...

At about 12:30 I had decided to stop writing, and watch a bit of TV... Punk will join me on the couch when I do this; and usually falls to sleep very quickly. About 5 minutes after sitting, I heard a huge "BANG"...

Punkin's head shot up. Then lowered. She began to growl. Low. Throaty. (That gives me goosebumps; me no likey)! Then she lay her head down again... 5 minutes later, another "bang"- She got down off the couch this time, and this time, along with the growls, her hair slowly stood up.

I shut off the TV to keep it dark inside, and started peeking out the windows. I could see nothing, anywhere. But living in the middle of bf nowhere, this did not surprise me. I am also quite cozied in by trees to keep the road noises down. Meanwhile I noticed that Miss Milly, out in the kennel, had not moved, nor barked. And so, taking Punk (and the cordless phone) with me, I went to check it all out. (From the INSIDE)...

My windows and doors were securely locked, and in peeking out of the upstairs windows I noticed the traffic (what little there was) going at a very normal pace- (ie: not slowing or swerving etc)...

A few more "BANGS" later, and the heck with it, I dialed 9~11... My conversation with the lady was even odd, as the first thing she asked me was the address of the problem... I told her I wasn't sure... As I tried to explain, she asked could this have been gunshot? Who knows, it sounded more like fireworks I supposed... (Now who would be hunting what at one in the morning? That's kinda wierd to even think about). She said she would send a car to patrol; but even knowing that, I didn't fall to sleep too easily. (Besides, my damned mouth hurt, but I was not about to take a pain pill til I knew what was going on).

I did fall asleep after a few more 'bangs'... And still do not know what the heck they were... But at least I slept!

These noises were definitely from the outside, and sporadic at best. I shall have to go see after I get in the shower... (I probably called the cops on someone sharing fireworks to celebrate the warm temps)! It is almost 40 as I write- and should remain that way for most of the day. (YAY)! And I am now to the point that I do not even care if we have a White Christmas or not. (Nicer on the heating bill this way)! hehehe

I'd better close, take that shower and get outside- A bit of sunshine too! Very cool that!

Oh yeah, and a Packer Jersey to boot!

Have a grand Sunday!

XOXO

Anne

Crazy In The Night
(Kim Carnes)
Sometimes I really think I'm going crazy in the night
When I hide down in the covers And I won't turn on the light
I think nothing's gonna get me But then again it might
What can I do to keep from going Crazy in the night

I need a drink of water But I swallow hard instead
Cause it's hard to move a muscle When you're frozen in your bed
If I could make it to the phone Before I die of fright
What can I do to keep from going Crazy in the night

"Sometimes she really thinks She's going crazy in the night
When she hides down in the covers And she won't turn on the light
She says nothing's gonna get to her But then again it might
What can she do to keep from going Crazy in the night?"

There's a monster on my ceiling There's a monster on the wall
There are thousands in the closet Now they're coming down the hall
I'm so hidden they can't find me But then again they might
What can I do to keep from going Crazy in the night?

And if I disappeared Do you think they'd ever look
Would I be headlines in the paper Or the cover of the book
Got to pull myself together I don't want to die of fright
What can I do to keep from going Crazy in the night?

"Sometimes she really thinks She's going crazy in the night
When she hides down in the covers And she won't turn on the light
She says nothing's gonna get to her But then again it might
What can she do to keep from going Crazy in the night?"

DON'T BRUSH YOUR TEETH! Simple Words to the Wise

Good Morning!
And I need absolutely to start off with a warning!
If you are overly sensitive to questionable talk at the breakfast table, please do not be reading this while you are eating.
After losing 2 teeth here, and after questioning the dentist, I have learned almost MORE than I needed to know...

However, this information should be shared with anyone who has ever thrown up...

As you all know, I get migraines- (too many to count even in a single month).
Along with my migraines come the sensitivities to light, sound smell, etc etc etc... And most are accompanied by nausea and vomiting.

The dentist has now informed me that I have the mouth of a migraneur! (Yes, even after I told him of my preference to Cherry Pepsi)... He said the teeth would be 'cavetized' on other surfaces, had this been due to the sodas.
He also told me I needed to learn what to do after I vomit. (This, after I told him that I rinse then brush immediately afterwards)...
He said simply that "brushing immediately is the very worst thing one can do."
WHAT???
He said that when one brushes immediately afterward, that you are actually forcing the stomach acids down into your gums. I am to rinse and swish my mouth out with warm water, (after ten minutes or until my mouth regains a more normal feel and taste to it), and only after that am I allowed to brush my teeth.
And yes, this makes almost obvious sense. But then I just had to ask why it took me 30+ years of this BS before anyone told me this??? Needless to say I am more than a little upset about that! And in the meantime, I have done MUCH damage too. And that thought just makes me ill to think on.
So, heed these WORDS to the WISE here...
If you are ever ill, please do NOT brush immediately.
I always thought it odd that I could sit and floss every night while I watched tv, and always took decent care of my pearly whites; and yet still had problems???
NOW I KNOW WHY!  (And now you do too)!

I received a call from Aaron last night (my soon-to-be Son-in-Law), asking for my blessings on their impending marriage... What a sweetheart!
And yes, of course they have my entire heartful of blessings. We chatted for as long as my mouth could handle it- He sounds so very happy! (But of course, since this is one of my daughters hearts and hands in question, I could not imagine that he wouldn't be)! He also said that it looks like Monday will be "The Day"- He works such terrible hours and trying to even get a few hours off to get married is a tough thing! (Those of you in the IT line of work will be able to sympathize with that)!

I spoke to Miss Valerie yesterday too- She called about noon; and is doing quite well for someone who has just had her tonsils removed. She proudly told me that she had ice cream and a Popsicle for breakfast!
As for myself, I was afraid to eat because I didn't want to create pain where it had been so minimal. (But my tummy won that argument by about 6 last night)... hehehe Since I hadn't eaten in 2 days, I took it easy for that meal- a bowl of pea soup and a few of the yummy oyster crackers in it... Oh, and it was more than enough too. The simple act of crunching those crackers was a little bit of Heaven in my mouth! Now a very rare prime rib would be great too!
Yes, I do have a bit more pain today than yesterday; a wee bit in my teeth, but primarily in my jaw...
(They didn't really need to use a two-ton floor-jack for keeping my mouth open, did they)? That wasn't in the contract...
Hopefully this discomfort too shall pass quickly. I have always been a fast healer. Lucky me!
And I'd better close before I make everyone here an odd shade of green!
My apologies... It is just TOO important NOT to share.
Take care, and have a 'wunnaful' weekend!!!

XOXO
Anne

Sans Tonsils and Teeth!

Good Morning!

This picture is of my Little Miss Valerie- asleep after her tonsillectomy, and doing well already yesterday afternoon!

there is so much to be said for being cozy and comfy...

And so, I wake up this morning... (and quite belatedly, I might add because I couldn't fall asleep to save my soul )... I am one of the few who, when given narcotics, stay awake forever...

Upon arising, I find that I have been very literally broken into and robbed! (YOKES)!

I have been violated; and there is a molar missing! (wtf? and call the cops already)!!!

Upon my hazy memory kicking in, I do seem to have some recollection of the thief... He was actually quite cute- Dark hair, (and mesmerizing enough to completely knock me out)... But I do remember something very cold on my arm before they put the IV in... To numb it so it doesn't hurt? I told him I was not afraid of needles, (and told him that I welcome them when I have a migraine too). I remember holding Caseys hand and telling her she had to remain in the room. (Yeah, right). I was out for no longer than 20 minutes; and he also removed a previous $1100.00 root canal tooth that was not going to survive much longer.

The worst part is the waking up. I swear that nurse screamed at me! But I am sure she didn't; just when you are dead asleep, and you hear anything it startles you into this awful thought of "WAKIE WAKIE" and you don't want to. Having my mouth full of gauze, I couldn't speak, (not that I wanted to), but the first thing I noticed was that there was NO MORE PAIN! (and then to notice I cannot feel my face either, so he 'froze me' so I wouldn't go 'nutso' when I woke)... Little does HE know! hehehe

Casey delivered me home; and then went to go pick up the pain meds for me- In the meanwhile I was 'thawing out' ...and realizing that the prickly feeling was all I was feeling! I do not know how very much pain I must have been in before this, but I do know I have not had such a pain~free mouth in quite a while!!! Yes Doctor, money well $pent! (Even though I am thinking I made the next payment on his vehicle)!

I called Zoe and Valerie in the meanwhile too. Miss Valerie sounding great as I spoke to her on the phone too! (After seeing how Zoe and Casey had come through their own tonsillectomies, I was absolutely floored by how great Valerie sounded)! Hope she got some good sleep last night too!

Such a beautiful child too!

A very smiley Valerie......... .......Aunt Berta cutting her hair last week

Zoe had sent me these pictures yesterday afternoon already! (Perhaps she has inherited my own mothers photo gene! Sure hope so)!

Haven't heard diddley~squat from Texas either... Hope all is well with all of my cowpokes down yonder!

I had best keep this short today... Life is waiting!!! (as are my Christmas cards still)...

Hope all is well with everybody in My Little 360 Wonder~World; and that you are safe, warm and cozy in your little corner of it too!

Now go have a damned fine weekend! hehehe (And I shall try to do the very same)!

XOXO
Anne!!!

Hee-Haw, Tonsils, and Toothaches!

"Gloom. Despair. (And agony on me)! Deep dark depression; oppressive misery... If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. Gloom. Despair. (And agony on me)! ..."

...From "Hee-Haw" (And if you do not know what Hee-Haw is you shall have to click on that)... I see that it was not broadcast outside of the U.S. of A.

Life. (MINE, dammit). I have a teeny~tiny confession to make to you all. Having LIED through my teeth- (gasp) to everyone!

(Bless Me, Father; for I have sinned)...

do you see a liar, or a person?

Yes, the stupid tooth hurts still. And YES, I went to the DDS yesterday. And no, they only gave me more painkillers to take til my appointment today with the 'sleep' orthoguy... KC is bringing me in so I can get put to sleep. He will remove the offensive tooth. (Or maybe all of them)? hehehe You have GOT to love sedation dentistry!

And just so y'all know my lineage here, (I really didn't stand a chance)!; I thought I would include a few priceless entries from my familys photo album...

There is GRANDMAMAW!!!

..married 7 times!!!

There is DADDY!!!

he's a doll!!!

There are my BROTHERS too....

ain't they 'shore' jes so sweet~lookin'?

...Just so you know exactly what I will be looking like at about noon today! hehehe They said it was a back tooth for me... Maybe it won't really 'show' then?

Gee, does anybody wanna 'photoshop' THIS one for me?

hehehehehehehehehe...

No, I do not suppose it will be all that bad... (At least I hope not)! And I do feel worse for my Little Miss Valerie... She will be having her tonsils out this morning... Poor little girl...

But I am glad that she is having it done young enough. (CaseyAnne was almost 12, Zoe was about 20; and they both had such a terrible time with it all)...

And so, Miss Valerie will be babysitting me come Monday... (Lord only knows I shall probably need all her help too)!

Our roles will be reversed come Monday!

And life will go on...

Back to real life today...

I took this picture a while back...

...the movement of my arm made these little Green Bay Packer "G"'s perfectly!

Did anyone catch the Packer Game on Sunday last? A great win over the SanFran 49'ers, (and I was barred from even watching it)!!!

Kind of a fun story about that too. I had been cooking/baking etc... and running back and forth from the kitchen to the living room, sneaking peeks at the game during the first half. My friend Kelli called at halftime, I told her what I had been doing, and she told me that whatever it was that I HAD to keep doing it... (Desperate for a win, I will do anything I can)! When there was about 5 minutes left to the game, I called down the road, Tim answered and I asked Kelli's permission to sit and watch the rest of the game; we were ahead 30-13 at that point... (Pretty please)? She says yes, I had her permission to go sit down and take a load off... As soon as I sat down, didn't the 49'ers score a touchdown... My phone rang almost immediately, (and I knew it was Kelli going to tell me to go "get OUT of the living room")! Funny!!!

Christmas thoughts now... Does anyone else just LOVE these little decorations? About 3" tall, they have "squeezie things" that allow them to clamp onto things...

I always LQQK for more when I go rummaging, but they seem pretty hard to come by too... If anyone ever sees a "Yukon Cornelius" or a "Lookee see what HE can do" The Abominable, please let me know!

And now I must go 'find' my house once again... (I am fairly certain I will not feel like scrubbing the floors when I get home this afternoon)! hehehe

And like I said earlier; Life WILL go on!!!

I hope you are all having a wonderful week; (and just in case I do not post tomorrow, have a grand weekend too)!

XOXO
Anne
