But where to poo?

Good Frigid Morning All;

I have 2 driveways. For a while yesterday I had none.
Now, once again I have 2 driveways!
hehehe
Jim came with the snowplow about 12:30 yesterday afternoon.
Yes, it was still blowing around something wild, but the snow had quit coming down, and the weather had settled down enough to move most of the snow. Not even sure how much we got- Probably not as much as was predicted, but enough to hide most everything left outside.

Waking up yesterday, Sunday, the first thing one does is check out the windows...

First to the kitchen window...

Kitchen window

Yes. That is drifted up the side of the house.
Put there by the winds, as the snowfall was deep but certainly not that great. hehehe

Then to peek out the east windows...

Toward the woods

No wonder there is snow everywhere! Still coming down.
I do hate when the snow flies across, instead of in a soft downward fashion...

OK. Now to the living room window to see if I can still see the yews.

LR Window

I see them!   Kinda.   Sorta.   hehehe

So out to the entrance...

Teeny tiny drifts in the screen

The screen door was/IS frozen. I put silicone on it last night. It still frosted up the handle.

By this time, Miss Punk was begging to go out.

   ...   A dog's gotta do what a dog's gotta doo~doo.

Must find my poo spot

Off she goes, in search of her favorite place to poo...

She couldn't find it!

Where's my poo spot?

She looked to me to see if I knew something...

Maybe this way...

So she was off to find her 2nd favorite place...

Nope. Not here either...

"Well, where IS it, Mom?"

And then back again across the yard...

... A little faster this time-

Good grief, I gotta go!

She literally pranced through the drifts!

I have never laughed so hard at doggie doo~doo in my life... She finally gave up looking for someplace perfect, and found a place to squat.

It is cold, and very white, outside this morning.
Not as windy, so the only weather advisory today is the windchill warning.
* COLD AIR POURING INTO THE AREA WILL RESULT IN WIND CHILLS TO
AROUND 20 BELOW ZERO THIS MORNING.
* WIND CHILLS THIS LOW CAN PRODUCE FROST BITE IN 20 MINUTES.

School buses are running about 2 hours late- A few extra minutes for the plows to ensure the roads are (mostly) open, and the buses are all warmed up.
Yesterday, Governor Doyle issued some snow emergency for the entire state.
Well hell, it doesn't take an idiot to know you go nowhere when it's like this.

It does bother me that the news stations ALL say that the Sheriff's Deparments have warned everyone to stay off the roads. Then they proceed to tell you what a terrible drive it was as they drove from here to there to report that it is snowing and slippery and downright dangerous.
What the hell is up with that? St00pid people.

I sewed for a while yesterday...
But damn!, my back is awful, and my head kicked in.
(Must have something to do with the weather).
I napped a little too! hehehe
Apparently so did the Packers. Oh well.
I watched until the 4th quarter. Should have kept it on...

The news has just stated that we received about 11+" of snow. Seems like a lot.
They also said the windchill advisory will be canceled around 10AM, when the windchills will be above 10 below zero.
The weatherman also said that this blizzard came one year to the day after our first blizzard last year.
Weird that.

I'd better close and get in the shower-
Am waiting to hear from Miss CaseyFace. Perhaps she will be coming out today.
I have some thick cut pork chops for our lunch if she does... Mmmm

Speaking of Casey, her new pictures are uploading as I type.
You can see them by clicking here. (www.edbdkcn.multiply.com/photos/album/13)
Great comments on there by the way! hehehe

Must fly for now, the dryer is buzzing...
Love to all

Young Lawrence.

Good Afternoon Everyone;
I am going to try to catch up a wee bit.
I have not blogged-
...My own thoughts being elsewhere- (And, as you can guess from my title, they have been to Alabama).
I had previously posted (click) that our Young Lawrence may have Marfans Syndrome. He had needed to wait until December 21st for this testing. They have since moved that appointment up, twice. He was seen today, and in a note from William, he says that Lawrence does not have Marfans. William is waiting to hear more from his mom about what IS going on with Lawrence's health.

OK.

"Here.

We go.
Again."

My weather radio has just gone off. For a total of 3 events now.
A T~Storm Watch.
Then came the T~Storm warning.
And now a Tornado Warning (the next county to the west of Brown where we are).

Storm is moving east by southeast; which means it may/may not affect us here. But I have miles to go with cleaning a bit before I can go hide in the basement if need be. Grrr...
Since I have yet to clean up from the mess the storms left yesterday, I must close for now.

I will keep you all updated as soon as I hear from William.

Later. (I hope). hehehe

XOXO
Me

PS
TV weatherman just said "Pulaski" and "Green Bay" with respect to the storm's heading...
Damn.
'Sherlock' speaks on TV now, saying, "This is a dangerous storm---"

Hmmm...
Ya think?

Coming My Way Soon!

Good Morning All;
What's the weather by you?
I have written to my aunt this morning too- She lives in Philadelphia and has been dumped on with lots of rain already- Today they are to be under a heat index warning...

And uh-oh here we go... It is just now beginning to rumble, thunder, and lightning- So much for the "soon" in my title.

Casey had her 6th infusion on Monday- And boy, do I have a story to tell!  Know that she is alright though.  I will have to play "ketchup" after this has passed. Time for me to go offline now.
Have a safe, and cool, and 'wunnaful' Wednesday!

Love to all!

XOXO
Me

Rain. Snow. Sleet. (And Dark of Night).

"Dogs just wanna have fun!" hehehe

Happy Saturday All;
It's been a busy week. Busy, but not industrious either. Just one of those weeks where nothing has gotten done.

We had some nasty storms on Tuesday evening. Then it cooled off-
But the winds did not die down. It has been chilly- The "bone" kind of chilly.

I brought Casey to the doctor because she could not get a return call from his nurse.

(Of course Miss Punk came along).
.
.

Cnv0625
hehehe.

Yes, it was warm enough that day to open windows and drive fast.

Cnv0572
She waits patiently in the car for us to return...

Then comes funtime for her.
In the field by the hospital, she knows she gets to play with her new toy again.

Cnv0575

Cnv0574

Cnv0579
She seems to love it when Casey gets her new toys!
This one, a bottle holder, to give it oomph as it's thrown.

Casey Daffodils bring peace, even in the rain.
Casey. In the daffodils.
.
.
That evening, Miss Kelli had stopped by on her way to Michelle's to feed the horses.

(Refer to top picture again). hehehe
It was warm enough to have all the pups outside playing too.

Sputty is not afraid of these beasts of ours either. As they play, he just rambles between Kelli and myself, or sits on the Cub Cadet. (Methinks he is smitten by that lawnmower of mine).

He even got thirsty at one point.

.
.
.
Cnv0559
This cannot end well!
(
Kelli's old washtub being 1/2 full of rainwater).  hehehe

.
As we looked to the South, we saw the first of the thundertops heading our way
.
.

Cnv0633
... and moving ever so slowly.
I have heard it said that the slower they move, the stronger they grow.
.
.
.
Cnv0634
Which seemed to be the case that night...

I have my NOAA weather radio. It began to sound the tornado warning. (And yet, even then, there had not been a severe thunderstorm watch or warning issued).

Mr. Sputnik heard the TV weatherman warn us to get under something sturdy...

While Miss Punk waited by the back entrance.

ALL of the tornadoes hit south and east of Green Bay. In fact, the TV picture above makes our own storms look much worse than they were on the ground, thank God.

I was awakened by a strange noise on Friday morning...

Good Freakin' Grief, my furnace had kicked in! (I had long since turned the thermostat all the way down, so this told me it was less than 62° in the house).
No wonder I had been chilled, even in my pj's...

Punk woke me last night- (rather "early" this morning). She had been asleep in her chair when I'd gone to sleep.  Quite regularly she wakes me up so she can steal my pillow...

But first to put her outside on the off chance I might be able to go back to sleep myself.

Funny noise out there too...  Drip. Drip. Drip. Plunk.
.
.

Cnv0643

Oh but check the right handle...

Yeah Baby, that is snow...

Cnv0642

Punk ran around a bit in search of her toys...

It has all since melted.

And that's all the news (that's fit to print). hehehe

Have a 'wunnaful' weekend my friends!
My love to all

XOXO
Me

Good Tuesday- Good Grief.

Good Morning Everyone-
As we watched the TV on Sunday night, clicking between Titanic and the game, I suddenly felt this awful shooting pain in my back. Not sure what it was- (I hadn't even moved at that point). But it sure took my breath away. I for one can surely think of more pleasant ways to have my breath taken away.

When I awoke yesterday it was obvious that although she was suffering, Casey was in better shape than I was.
I could barely even walk.
A quick phone call to the front desk ensured that Punk would be brought out to relive herself anyway. (Thank the powers that be that they all love this dog of mine)!
As the day progressed, slowly but surely I was able to get around a bit better.
We have been watching the snow fall...

What's This?
 um, What IS this ?!?!
.
.
Seeing the poor little pup, curled up...
.
.
We're NOT in Kansas Anymore...
-and so obviously bored;
.
Casey decided to do something about that boredom.
.
.
It was time for a little fun for Casey... and a "pawdicure" for Punk
.
.
Casey and Punk
.
.
Just to help with the chapping, and with those rough edges under the claws.
.
.

Pawdicure
A little Vaseline, a little moisturizer with aloe and cucumber too.
And a whole lot of foot massage action!

Afterward, Punk was still bored...
.
.
Punk Bored
She is hard to please every now and then,
(but most especially in a little hotel room when she is used to running in the fields).
.
.
.
Then, a siren, which seemed very close.
And not one of those phony ones on the TV.

Casey and Punk to the window to investigate...
.
.

Peeking out at the Siren...

.
Yes, it was still snowing!
hehehe.
..

Doo-Doo-Doo, looking out my back door
.
.
.
But the siren WAS very close...
.
.
Not for Casey
At the front door of the hotel as a matter of fact.
I do not know what happened, but about 10 minutes later they left with a lady.
No sirens or lights, which is a good thing. (Yes, we did see her move).
.
.

PW/Moos at Night
The Moos Tower at night, in the snowfall.
.
.
.

Wanna sit for a while?
Anyone wanna hold hands and sit for a while? hehehe
.

.
.
.
Casey shows her scar
And this, my friends, is how fast my baby girl heals!
(They even gave her an extra dimple)!
hehehe
.
.
.
Rumor has it that in addition to the snowfall we have gotten here, we will be getting home to another foot of snow as well, whenever that will be.
I suppose there are not two ways around that in February.
(Or maybe Canada is just covering all of her bases)?! hehehe
Yes, I love picking on my Canadian friends!

For now, I must get moving around a bit.
My back did improve yesterday, and up until I went to bed it was quite manageable. I wish to keep it that way.  I am also very happy that I didn't have to drive home yesterday with my back like that.
The forecast today for Green Bay reads as follows:
" 'Dynamic' snow system could bring 10 inches to Green Bay.
Snowfall expected to begin Monday and continue until Wednesday could dump six to 10 inches in and around Green Bay, the National Weather Service said."

Hope all is well, (and cozy), in your little corner of the world!

Love to all

XOXO
Me

Oh and again I ask, what IS this?
Take your best shot. hehehe

What's This?

Blizzard "Allison"

To the west...

Good Evening Everyone;
The storm is over. The yard is plowed.
The sun even poked its face out this afternoon.
We are warm and safe.

As I type, it is 3 measly degrees. But those 3 little degrees are (still) above zero.

When Punk and I went for that last walk, I noticed that on Sunday they had finally put up trail markers for the snowmobiles.
.
.
Cnv1875............ Cnv1877
.
.
.
Cnv1876 ............Cnv1878

Not a minute too soon if you ask me.

.
.
Knowing that the view could change quickly, I had also taken this shot.
.
.
Just before the storm
.
.
And then that view DID change...
.
.
Backyard
There really is birdseed in that feeder...
.
.
.
I had also put out the Christmas sign
.
.
.
Xmas sign before storm
.
.
It wasn't long before THAT view also changed...
.
.
Christmas After
Will have to stand it back up when it warms up a bit...
.
.
And that driveway you could see in the picture of Christmas Corner?
.
.

Driveway Snow.
Completely obliterated. hehehe
.
.
So was my road!
.
.
Where's The Road?
.
.
I should have known how bad it was just by looking out the kitchen window when it began to get light out...
.
.
Kitchen Window
With its snow and ice packed screens and storms.
.
.
.
But with a snowfall like this, comes a surreal beauty.

Like the REAL Christmas Trees...
.
.
.
REAL Christmas Trees
... decorated by Old Man Winter and Mother Nature
.
.
And when JoAnne and Jim's lights came on, that view was still pretty
.
.

JJ Light
.

My snowplow came late yesterday afternoon.
As weather should have predicted, he got stuck. ... 3 times.
.
.
Stuck Plow
Sorry so blurry
.
.
.
Darkness comes early now- About 4:30. But even with that, you can see the pretty decorations left behind
.
.
After Allison 009
Am giggling at the lawn chair, left of the door... (Whoops)!
.
.
.
The wind had done its own fierce decorating...
Leaving the side of the house completely covered.
.
.
Door Decor
And leaving my shovels in wait for helping hands. The snowplow man did dig out away from the house so he could pull the snow off the apron to the garage.
.
.
.
.
shovels
One for Lawrence, and one for William too.
hehehe  Since I haven't heard from him now, I am guessing they MUST be on their way to shovel?!
.
.
And then there's my little flower bed...
.
.
Flower Bed
How my seeds come up every year is always a wild and amazing miracle to me!
.
.
.
Completely chilled, and sweating at the same time (from being wrapped up like a North Pole burrito), it was time to head in and get something hot in my tummy.
.
.
Hot Stew
That's more like it!
.
.
Kristen wrote this morning saying she had made chili and fresh baked bread yesterday. (Good as my own stew was, methinks I should have gotten snowed~in over there)! hehehe

They had gone to story time at the library last week.
Clifford the big red dog was there... And Kristen sent this picture on!
.
.
.
Clifford and Kids!
Alexis, Master Gabriel, Clifford and Kayleigh
. (Kristens "triplets")!
Thank you Sweet Kristen!.
I am always so happy to get these pictures- They make my heart happy!

Julie, another neighbor, called yesterday morning, early.
Had I seen two of her dogs? I had not.
She also called last night, after the blizzard had let up a bit.  They still had not come home. Too easy, even for dogs, to lose direction in a blizzard.
Another phone call this morning, as the wind chill was estimated at about 20-30 below. No dogs. She now has put up signs she got from her vet.
I feel so badly for her- She has a lot of dogs, but cares for them too.

Sweet Kelli stayed home yesterday. Too far to go to take a chance, and with the Sheriffs department telling everyone to stay off the roads, she was much safer too. Miss May and Miss Breezie got their blankets put on- Kelli said Miss May looked like some weird blue alien in the snowstorm! hehehe
They will be happy to have those blankets on as tonight we may get below zero.

I turned my heat down about 2 hours ago. 15 minutes ago, I turned it right back up.

Casey called earlier- Feeling kind of rough yet from her infection, but getting better too. The fact that at least she CAN sleep is a good thing. There are days that sleep does not come so easily for her.

Greg did go to work yesterday- And he tried planting his car too. After being stuck for a while, his whole crew came along, one by one, and helped him out. I believe his boss took pictures, but I have yet to see them. Too much fun in the snow! (Is that even possible)?

Punk had fun out there too- But she will have to post her own story.

Time to go put my feet up in a little bit- Hope this finds everyone warm and safe.

Love to all

XOXO
Anne
