HELP!? (This is almost gross).

Hi all;
Nothing like being unable to go to bed last night-

I had just gotten refreshed, my PJ's on- and came out of the bathroom to see this piss yellow river going across my kitchen.
Yes, my house has always leaned a little to the east.  hehehe

Punk was over in the LR on her rug, just watching this crap turn to a stinkin' little puddle.
Since both animals were in the house, I assumed one of them had peed, although that has NEVER happened before.

I grabbed a paper towel, mopped a bit of it up, and gingerly took a sniff. (There is a distinct difference between cat piss and dog pee).

But the smell was neither. It was "off" somehow- A bit of a rancid smell, combined with something terribly spoiled .
Following it 'upstream', it was coming out of my cupboard!  ?!?!
A raccoon?!? Something else?
Afraid to open the cupboard door lest something come out and bite me, I hit the door a few times to make a LOUD noise- (Sure to startle any pissin' thing in there).

Nothing moved.

By this time, Punk was ready to do battle- She picks up my emotions so very well-

She stood guard (behind me). hehehe  Sputty had been woken too; thinking my loud knocks were company- He went over to the door; sat and waited.

Slowly, slowly, slowly I opened that door...

Very, VERY s--l--o--w--l--y...

...

Burst can in cupboard. (Texsun, left)

It peed in my cupboard!!!

What the burst OJ leakage did to an onion peel...

This is a lost onion peel that I hadn't bothered to pick up from earlier in the day. Look how blackened it is-
And, no, it didn't take me that long to change, & brush my teeth and hair.

What causes this to happen?
And what, pray tell, can happen to us as we inhaled the fumes, (which were nasty to say the least).

In advance I thank you for letting me know... (Um- You DO know, don't you)?!?

Although I am very thankful that I can still boast that my animals have not had any accidents, I have never ever had this happen before.
I must vamoose for now!

Tarantula Tempura

Description:
Are any of you brave enough to add this "bugclava" to your bucket lists?
(Bugclava coined by Michael Y. Park). hehehe

Try this little video, courtesy of my "bizarre" news.
http://www.evtv1.com/player.aspx?itemnum=5260

Ingredients:
Chilled, live tarantulas

Directions:
This is the process for Tarantula Tempura.
(Please do not try running to the pet store and making this at home)

Warning: "DON'T TAKE THE JUMP IF YOU'VE GOT A WEAK STOMACH OR A FEAR OF INSECTS, SPIDERS OR KANGAROOS."

  1. Get a live tarantula that's been kept refrigerated to make it sluggish.

  2. Stick it in a bowl full of brandy to get it tipsy and make sure the hairs soak in the liquid.

  3. Put the tarantula on a tray and under a broiler.
    • The hairs, which can be hard to digest, will burn off.

  4. Skewer the tarantula and stick it in the batter of your choice.

  5. Deep fry, let rest, enjoy.

If you would prefer scorpions, click here for  "Tempura Battered Scorpion"

Will PETA have a problem broiling a live tarantula? (Whether it is drunk or not)?

Oh look! It's almost time for brunch!

Will Condom Recall Lead to Sex Panic?

This, from here: http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/11/09/2737674.htm

Police in central China have closed a factory producing fake and unsterile condoms and are tracking down over two million of the unsafe contraceptives already on the market, state press say.

The condoms were made in a factory in Hunan province and are believed to have been sold nationwide under a variety of names, including those of well-known makers such as Jissbon and Durex, the China Youth Daily said.

Police have detained suspect manufacturer Li Anping, who allegedly bought condoms wholesale, added an unknown lubricant and crudely packaged them without sterilizing the product, the report said.

Several underage girls worked in the now-shuttered factory, it added.

Li allegedly produced up to 2.16 million condoms before the plant was closed down.

Fake and faulty products remain a major concern in China as unscrupulous manufacturers seek to make profits as the nation's economy booms.

************** From top link...

If you're sexually active and have used condoms, here's some news that's really going to gross you out: Chinese authorities have shut down a condom plant, saying it was producing unsafe and tainted rubbers.
Now, officials are looking for more than two million condoms that were produced by this plant and sold under brand names such as Durex and Jissbon, according to Australia's ABC News.

Officials say manufacturer Li Anping bought wholesale condoms, added an "unknown" lubricant and then repackaged them without sterilizing them. He also had underage girls working in his condom factory, according to the report.

This story is bad enough... but the real question now is how do you recall condoms? If you have the answer... please don't tell me.

What the Fah~REAK is this?

Crisis Mode- Mucus Is Not a Wholesome Food Additive

http://urbanlegends.about.com/b/2009/04/16/truism-of-the-week-mucus-is-not-a-wholesome-food-additive.htm?nl=1
Not for the squeamish...

Thursday April 16, 2009

Domino's U.S.A. went into crisis mode earlier this week after homemade videos surfaced showing a Domino's employee sticking cheese up his nose and purposely sneezing on the food (nor was that the worst of it, it pains me to report).

Though the perpetrators insist it was "only a prank" and no adulterated food was actually served to customers, they were fired from the pizza chain's Conover, North Carolina location and face felony charges of "distributing prohibited foods."

Domino's responded with its own YouTube video apologizing for the incident and reassuring the public that its products are safe.

Reports of deliberate food contamination by service workers are common currency in urban folklore, of course.
Tales of cooks/waiters/busboys spitting (or worse) in the food or beverages of obnoxious customers are probably as old as commercial foodservice itself — which is not to say they're always untrue.

Though documented cases are rare, the evidence suggests this sort of thing really does happen from time to time.
The details are suitably repugnant.

Just thinking about all the college kids etc that order pizza on a regular basis...

If you really need to see this, (or Domino's own reply) on you tube, you will have to search out the videos- (takes too long on dial up),

Not sure about all y'all, but I am quite happy making my own pizzas...

The Maggots in Your Mushrooms

DO NOT READ THIS WHILE YOU ARE EATING.
There. You have been warned.

G'Afternoon All;

First of all I already know that in the course of our lifetime we probably eat a bushel (or more) of plain old garden dirt.
That dirt being complete with all its own little additives; (aka the feces of many species).

And I also know that it is a falsehood that we swallow spiders in our sleep.

'Course we might swallow those same spiders if we keep our heads in the sand.
(And we might also swallow a whole bunch more dirt while we are at it)...

Read on.

THE Georgia peanut company at the center of one of our nation’s worst food-contamination scares has officially reached a revolting new low: a recent inspection by the Food and Drug Administration discovered that the salmonella-tainted plant was also home to mold and roaches.

You may be grossed out, but insects and mold in our food are not new. The F.D.A. actually condones a certain percentage of “natural contaminants” in our food supply — meaning, among other things, bugs, mold, rodent hairs and maggots.

In its (falsely) reassuringly subtitled booklet “The Food Defect Action Levels: Levels of Natural or Unavoidable Defects in Foods That Present No Health Hazards for Humans,” the F.D.A.’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition establishes acceptable levels of such “defects” for a range of foods products, from allspice to peanut butter.

Among the booklet’s list of allowable defects are “insect filth,” “rodent filth” (both hair and excreta pellets), “mold,” “insects,” “mammalian excreta,” “rot,” “insects and larvae” (which is to say, maggots), “insects and mites,” “insects and insect eggs,” “drosophila fly,” “sand and grit,” “parasites,” “mildew” and “foreign matter” (which includes “objectionable” items like “sticks, stones, burlap bagging, cigarette butts, etc.”).

Tomato juice, for example, may average “10 or more fly eggs per 100 grams [the equivalent of a small juice glass] or five or more fly eggs and one or more maggots.” Tomato paste and other pizza sauces are allowed a denser infestation — 30 or more fly eggs per 100 grams or 15 or more fly eggs and one or more maggots per 100 grams.

Canned mushrooms may have “over 20 or more maggots of any size per 100 grams of drained mushrooms and proportionate liquid” or “five or more maggots two millimeters or longer per 100 grams of drained mushrooms and proportionate liquid” or an “average of 75 mites” before provoking action by the F.D.A.

The sauerkraut on your hot dog may average up to 50 thrips. And when washing down those tiny, slender, winged bugs with a sip of beer, you might consider that just 10 grams of hops could have as many as 2,500 plant lice. Yum.

Giving new meaning to the idea of spicing up one’s food, curry powder is allowed 100 or more bug bits per 25 grams; ground thyme up to 925 insect fragments per 10 grams; ground pepper up to 475 insect parts per 50 grams. One small shaker of cinnamon could have more than 20 rodent hairs before being considered defective.

Peanut butter — that culinary cause célèbre — may contain approximately 145 bug parts for an 18-ounce jar; or five or more rodent hairs for that same jar; or more than 125 milligrams of grit.

In case you’re curious: you’re probably ingesting one to two pounds of flies, maggots and mites each year without knowing it, a quantity of insects that clearly does not cut the mustard, even as insects may well be in the mustard.

The F.D.A. considers the significance of these defects to be “aesthetic” or “offensive to the senses,” which is to say, merely icky as opposed to the “mouth/tooth injury” one risks with, for example, insufficiently pitted prunes. This policy is justified on economic grounds, stating that it is “impractical to grow, harvest or process raw products that are totally free of non-hazardous, naturally occurring, unavoidable defects.”

The most recent edition of the booklet (it has been revised and edited six times since first being issued in May 1995) states that “the defect levels do not represent an average of the defects that occur in any of the products — the averages are actually much lower.” Instead, it says, “The levels represent limits at which F.D.A. will regard the food product ‘adulterated’ and subject to enforcement action.”

Bugs in our food may not be so bad — many people in the world practice entomophagy — but these harmless hazards are a reminder of the less harmless risks we run with casual regulation of our food supply. For good reason, the F.D.A. is focused on peanut butter, which the agency is considering reclassifying as high risk, like seafood, and subjecting it to special safety regulations. But the unsettling reality is that despite food’s cheery packaging and nutritional labeling, we don’t really know what we’re putting into our mouths.

Soup merits little mention among the products listed in the F.D.A.’s booklet. But, given the acceptable levels for contaminants in other foods, one imagines that the disgruntled diner’s cri de coeur — “Waiter, there’s a fly in my soup!” — would be, to the F.D.A., no cause for complaint.

Oh now c'mon, nobody ever died eating the tomato paste.

Just one question though... Are you hungry now?

PS
Still I haven't gotten over that "(falsely) reassuringly subtitled booklet" above. "The Food Defect Action Levels"
(Methinks it should not have been "defects" but 'defecations')?

Stinky.

Good Morning All;
Mad at my camera- (Probably mad at myself too). I have a huge scratch in my camera lens that I have no idea where it came from. STINK!
At this point I am thinking to buy a new camera instead of replacing the lens. The digital cameras have sure come down in price since I bought my first one; and I will at some point go "in search of"...
I am also thinking that little trip could be lots of fun!

I have been awake since before 3AM- One of those nights where sleep came early, and wouldn't come again... Too easy this way to get my days and nights mixed up.

That is alright for right now though... I prefer to be awake and to turn a faucet on every now and then- 7 below zero right now- Not as bad as yesterday when it was 13 below.

For everyone dealing with the awful ice storms countrywide, my heart goes out to you. If you still have power, run some water now so you have it for when the power goes out.
Truthfully, I would rather deal with the obscene temperatures we have had than all your ice.
STINKY.

I have tried to keep up with the peanut butter barage of recalls.
It is not possible for me to do so.
Please just don't eat anything "peanut".

This was not at the end of the driveway,
nor was it within tossing distance from the road.
Kinda freaky~ Definitely stinky.
It serves to remind me that I like Milly outside.
Just too cold yet to leave her out overnight.

And unless I have become a sleep walker/drinker, it sure isn't mine.
Of course maybe if I had drank one or two I wouldn't have any problems sleeping!

Worse now.
The good news first.
Mr Sputty-Cat is doing his job! (Say "yay").
The bad news? I CAN'T FIND THE DEAD VARMINT!!!
It is in the back entrance. Somewhere. But I am glad it is back there I suppose.
Talk about stinky~poo.

Have a "wunnaful" Wednesday! Love to all.

¿¿¿Como se dice ~"Doo~Doo"~???

  magnify
hehehe
.
.
Good Morning Everyone!
(Oops, "afternoon" now).

Words to the wise here: Do NOT be eating while you are reading;
especially if you have a sensitive stomach...

In answer to the above title; I have only been in one of my little comas.
As I was finishing putting the last load of wash in the dryer Monday night, I started seeing those dots and flashing lights.
I took a Maxalt, and waited for the lights to go away. (Having also had to put the TV on pause so I could watch the Packer Game) .
Thank the powers that be for my DISH System, and the ability to pause live TV...
I never caught up with the game until past the halftime.
Maxalt screws up my "innards"... And the headache takes care of everything else. (Suffice to say that I spent a great deal of time within the confines of the powder room).
.

.
And Monday had been SO nice...
Casey came out, and we all went to the woods, and down to the river too. (I have not been down there but once, since I hurt my back).

Even Miss Milly stuck around to us; in part because Casey was here, Mr. Miller was here, and of course Master Gabriel too.

Sputnik was not one bit interested in going along.

Apparently too busy to be bothered...

Casey and Gabriel on the way to the woods.
.
.
As we walked back, all three dogs had found something very very nasty to roll in. Milly got the first serving, having bolted to the woods in her own style.
Punk was second, and with all of our yelling, only got a little on her neck/collar.
I removed her collar (posthaste and very carefully); and wound up carrying it home on a stick.
(Yes, her collar WAS bleach~washed that same night; right along with Mama Milly's)...

Mr. Miller tried to roll in it too, but he missed... (True). hehehe

Since this is what dogs do, we just kept going.
Thank God for the river!

Were you born, raised, or ever even worked at a farm?
Then you know there is a huge difference in the 'aroma' of the different animals.
There is also a difference in 'shape' of the doo~doo any animal leaves 'behind'.

We discovered what the dogs had rolled in was HUMAN.
And our insides just roiled over and over-

More of it in the woods too. I believe the little Mexicans have used the woods as their personal toilet.
DAMNED MAD ABOUT THAT. (There are not enough cuss words to even write how I feel about this).

Funny, but I haven't seen them here since Casey made that phone call to complain...

But anyway, like I said, thank God for the river!

Gabriel was not too sure about walking in water
on all the "slippy~rocks".

(So a little help goes a long way)...

As for myself, I was wondering if there is a way to put my entire being in the washer too...
