"THANK YOU to Our Navy SEALS!"

*
Including a very special THANK YOU to our REMARKABLE Commander~in~Chief!

As I had replied to another blog-
Stephen had wondered about what our own "celebrations" must have looked like to the rest of the world.
I had replied:

" This was not the entire Arab World Steve.
Just the same, *they* must realize that not everyone here is doing that celebrating.
Did I???
Oh you betcha- and I even made a few phone calls to people who had been there- and fighting for us all, ({Just} so we can have [this] right in the 1st place).
HUGE difference between us and al Qaeda...
I agree that it won't be seen that way across the miles and across the seas and the religious faithful.
Still al Qaeda has been knocked down a notch or three -and that is very important to this little card game.
I think it says more about the American within us (U.S.) if we aren't touched deeply by these brave Navy SEALS that carried out their orders to the *T*.God Bless them all; and God bless our commander in chief who finally had the backbone to say to hell with the masses if it fails. We tried.

Difference between he and *W* -is that President Obama had the gonads to lose big on this one."
 -end quote-

Come to think of it, I guess "W" would have lost a HUGE investment in his foreign oil. hehehe

Money being the root of all evil- (GW's roots go very, very, deep in the Middle East; deeper than their oil wells my friends).

A reminder for anyone who may be caught unawares, to reflect upon or to remind you-
 *** Not all of the al Qaeda are Arabs; not all Arabs are al Qaeda.

As our President, Barack Hussein Obama
stated, possibly begging to remind us-
 *** "We are NOT at war with ISLAM."

  - - - - "bin Laden killed tens of thousands of Muslims"-
 *** Usama bin Laden is NOT the face of the Muslim.

bin Laden is/WAS but one mere ugly face of militant, religious extremism; and of the wretched terrorism that he endeavored to harden us all toward our neighbors and our friends.
You remember the ones you had prior to 9/11... ?
  1. Those peaceful and law~abiding citizens who happened to be (and still are), the REAL Muslims; (those of whom are 99.9999% real Muslims).
  2. Those who have chosen to love and to spread their religion with peace,  to live peaceably by/for their own bible, the Qu'ran. (See also al-Qur'an, Koran, Book).

You remember those people that have done NOTHING AT ALL to receive your hatred and intolerance, don't you?

But you hate them anyway?
You are afraid of them anyway?
That makes you a bigot.

"WRONG IS..."

Religious bigots?

Check yourself first; then check out those at your own church on Friday night- or Saturday- or Sunday- (or [m]any of your 'holy' days of obligation/celebration)-

  *** If you don't "LIVE" it, you are not "it"    Get it now?

Religious Extremist? ......     Militant Extremist?

"WRONG IS... WHAT exactly?"
As you may guess, this has been a topic of much discussion between Casey and I for a very long time- It has been especially spoken of these past few days. We have agreed with each other 100% of the time. (And no, neither of us are ever 'afwaid' to disagree along the way).
We do agree on the most significant ideals too; the most important of late being:
We cannot and WILL NOT put up with, condone, any religious intolerance.

We also agreed that we should ask y'all about this:
  • Does it make hatred and discrimination okay as long as the person doing it is of your "approved" religion?

IMHO, it should NOT matter who's doing it.
Like we've said many times before, WRONG IS WRONG IS WRONG IS WRONG...

GOD BLESS THE USA
Artist: Lee Greenwood
Song:

"Proud To Be An American"

If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.

I’d thank my lucky stars,
to be livin' here today.
‘ Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.

From Detroit down to Houston,
and New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
and its time we stand and say.

That I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

And I’m proud to be and American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,

God bless the U.S.A..

Very kind & merciful of Mr. Greenwood to NOT specify which God, don't you think?
Beside those "The Three R's", it is all we ever need to teach our children.

If only so they may teach their children as well as we have taught them...
(Or has George Taylor already dropped to his knees and pounded our sacred sand)?

My love to all.

09/11/2010

The morning breaks rainy and chilled. Seems appropriate somehow.
I have a nasty headache and will go back to bed shortly

Before I sleep, here are my entries, my thoughts, of September 11th.

From 2007:
http://flintville.multiply.com/journal/item/46/911_Doing
From 2009:
http://flintville.multiply.com/journal/item/862/Car_Seats._Babies._And_Americans.

From yesterday:
"I remember the quiet too Mr Steve;
And the clear blue skies, as 3 of my children and I watched as only we saw but 2 sets of military planes fly over- and high they were- in a V-formation...

There were very few cars on the road- I live on a well traveled county highway

Seems to me that even the birds knew something was amiss for they ,too, were quieted. Perhaps by the worlds silence.
"

My peace to all.

XOXO
Me

It is chilly today, but not that cold...

Car Seats. Babies. And Americans.

Good Morning Everyone;
I am not overlooking the fact that there are things to be taken care of. (I am not forgetting that I need to do many things yet).
But I am not forgetting either.
Below is my recall of those terrible moments and days when we, collectively as Americans, truly united.

Not to need another reminder that we need to UNITE, we need only to respect life.

Peace.

September 11, 2001
From the Eyes, and the memory, of a Flintville American

Having just returned from Alabama late on the tenth- (a visit to my daughter,Roberta- son-in-law; William- and of course to see my grandson, Lawrence). I was sitting quite exactly where I am right now... Downloading and editing the zillions of pictures that I had taken from that trip. The photo above was taken on that trip... I was also babysitting my Little Miss Valerie; (full-time at that point). She was all of 7 months old.

I had fed her her breakfast- had brought her upstairs, and she was fast asleep in the magical land where babies go to see God during their naps...

My phone rang. It was Zoe, asking me if I had my television set on. I did not. She asked for me to turn it on right away, that there had been 'a terrible accident' at the World Trade Center. I assured her I would do so as soon as I was finished; and she asked me just to go take a look...

When I did turn the TV on, I saw the 1st Tower on fire- and the reports coming in that an airplane had hit it- A terrible accident... As I was thinking to return to my little office here, I heard even more commotion on the TV- Turning just in time to see the final seconds before the 2nd plane hit... At that point in time, I think my reaction was immediate horror, and thinking fast, I picked up the phone, called the high school and asked that Casey be at the front doors in about 15 minutes.Not knowing what else to say, I used the old standby "she is needed at home." I grabbed Valerie, and most unceremoniously threw her into the carseat, fastening her in securely- and thinking that our president could quickly impose a kind of lockdown of everyone everywhere. I headed to the high school. Casey, still uninformed, was packed and waiting for me- and had NO idea why on earth I would be picking her up from school? I tried to explain, but had the radio on- the announcers were doing a better job than ever I could have... I didn't want her to be away from home should the word come out that it wasn't safe for anyone to be going anywhere...

We filled the tank with gas, stopped both at the bank and the store, and headed for home. After placing Miss Valerie in the backseat of the Buick,I hurried to get all the groceries and things into the trunk.

The drive home is a county road, with two 90 degree curves thrown in for good measure... 3/4's of the way around that 1st corner, we heard this weird noise- Casey said, "Mom, pull over!" Turning to see why Casey would say such a thing, I saw that Miss Valerie's car seat had rolled and was completely upside down! (And yes, it IS funny now, but thinking that she was hurt- for even those few seconds was a sick sick feeling for me). In my hurry, I hadn't buckled the carseat in- (But in my defense, I didn't leave her at the store either)!!!

We came home- even more somber- and watched with horror as we saw the towers collapse. To this very day, that collapse is the single worse thing I have ever seen in my life- Knowing, that as those towers stood, all those people were still alive- that as they fell, all of them were simply gone; most NOT to be found, ever...

And my phone rang and rang and rang... Zoe wanting to know could she come out and stay and to be close to her own little girl- (by about 10:30, Humana had told all of its workers to go home). Jenne called too, and was already on her way out. We watched the TV for a time- then watched outside- We saw only military planes flying over- and low too- And there were none of the exhaust lines that you see trailing across the skies from all the jets and such. The air was calm, barely a breeze- a warmish day for the Eleventh Day of September... And very little traffic even out on the road- an ocassional dump truck, or a milk truck that went through- not too many cars- And the church bell rang and rang...

Later, I received about 4 calls from Roberta- at work in a gas station down in Alabama; and scared out of her wits. Scared to be so far away; and not knowing what would happen during the next while- Scared for her husband, and most importantly for her son... William has been in the Army and the Marine Corps- A "lifer" to the service of our country... He has been to the Gulf War- He has most recently been to Iraq- Someone for our Little Lawrence to be so proud of always...

I couldn't get ahold of Crystal or her family- They were living in Quantico at the time- Russell working at the Pentagon... Many emails later, to find out they were all safe and sound.

And still we held our collective breath all the day long, and the next, and onward- as we waited for even one survivor to be pulled from those towers... to be alive... and there were none...

Not knowing the futures, we made sure that our families and our homes were immediately protected, whatever it took.

In the days (daze) that followed, I know that one of the hardest things for me to do was to remain at home; only wishing I could be there to help somehow. And of course not knowing what it was I could have done anyway... But I could have helped the medics somehow- (what for ? - as no one emerged)... I could have made meals- Served them, not knowing to whom ? I could have helped with the cleanup of these now sacred grounds... But was more needed here for my own little family- ...And when you can do nothing else, you offer your heart and your prayers...

I believe we all did pray, whether we attended services or not. (Whether you 'believed' or not... You prayed, didn't you)?

We not only prayed for the people that had died, but for their families- For ourselves, for our own families, and for our own homes. For the security we will never take for granted another day in our lives. For the security that our grandchildren will now never know.

And we prayed for our America.

And we prayed for our Flag.

Where were YOU?
What did you feel?
(Did you remember to buckle the carseat)???

God Bless Our America .

God Bless Us Everyone...

Anne

9~11 "Doing?"

Good Solemn Morning...

I am thinking that I do not wish to offend anyone. And yet, I know that I probably will.

I have read through many of your blogs regarding September 11th, 2001.

Some have written about their own experiences.

Some about their political viewpoints.

Some have written about the feelings that this inspires within us.

We have all seen the conspiracy thoughts and videos, we have all seen the tragedies involved with the killing of innocents. We have all wrapped our arms around each other a little tighter too.

But I have yet to read ONE entry where there is a solution to any of this. Nor do I believe that I have that answer either.

I KNOW that Sept 11th, 2001 happened.

I know where I was. (Click).
I know where ALL of my loved ones were.

But it is not enough to simply acknowledge and know about all of this.

NO MATTER which side of the political arena we sit on, we need only to ensure that we do everything within our own power to ensure that the basic Preamble to the Constitution is met.

"We, the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

They searched for peace then. Trying to ensure it for all of us. It is all that we can hope and pray for now.

Good, bad (or ugly), this IS your land.
This is your home.
It is my home.

My parents taught me that there is honor in persevering.

And they taught me my own patriotic loyalty. That whatever happens, we all need to stick together, and never EVER waiver in that loyalty to our flag.

Too many have fought, many have died for us, since 1776, to turn our backs on any of it; in part or in whole.

Good. Bad. And everything inbetween.

I don't want to read about whether you think the war is right or wrong. Whether you want things to be different. We each have our own opinions sacred to our own souls.

I am waiting only to hear that we are SOMEHOW making/creating a difference for ourselves and for our babies.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
**** As a VERY IMPORTANT end note here I am going to copy a note I had sent out late last night, after wrapping my head around our latest weekend... and the phone call that came late yesterday...
"Dear Friends and Family;
I know many of you have been keeping up with Caseys diagnosis' throughout this all, and by clicking on my blog at the bottom of my emails to you. I thank you for that. Your words, visits, and phone calls have helped us more than you can know.
(It will be 3 years next month that she has had all these health problems).
And with last Fridays diagnosis, we have had a wonderful weekend; (the first in a VERY long time).
She has not been without pain, but seems more settled. Kind of like the lifting of the veil...
We have spent hours upon hours of reading online, and quite an education thus far. (And when we cannot concentrate anymore, we move on to blogs of course)!
After another go 'round with UWGB today, (Grrrr...); she waited here to have that confirmation phone call from Froedtert about the Crohns Disease diagnosis she'd received on Friday.
That call came about 4:30...
It was not the confirmation we had wanted to hear.
She left, still in tears after Dr. Josh had told her that he wasn't too very comfortable with the Crohn's Disease diagnosis that she had received from the radiologist on Friday.
Dr. Dua will be back late (this) afternoon, and will be in touch with us again on Wednesday. They are looking at still more tests at Froedtert.
Casey has said that after those tests, that will complete it for them. (Damn the torpedoes, and full speed ahead)?
She has tossed it around for a while, and is now wanting to go on to the Mayo Clinic. She will need a recommendation, (though THAT won't be too hard to get from her doctor here)...
Please keep her inbox full of good wishes.
Yeah. ... Life. ... "It's kinda like that."
