Our Weekend so Far...

Behind the pond at Kelli's... A masterpiece.

Good Morning All-
As I look out the eastward window, the fields are blanketed with fog, and the sun peeks through them at various spots-
Ever so pretty, and reminds me of home. i (Oh wait)!    hehehe

Been "squirrel~busy" these past few days- (trying to hang onto my last marble also).
But oh what fun we've had!  Had the sale open Friday and Saturday- I will open it again around 8 or 9. (Maybe just get a few chuchgoers that want to throw a few quarter$ my way).
Tons of people, and to know so many of them too!

Jim and JoAnne
Cousins and neighbors, Jim and JoAnne Reimer-

Jim just had surgery on his shoulder after dealing with a torn rotator cuff, and then ripping a few tendons. (That's some painful stuff too).

Julie and Destiny
Another neighbor, Julie- With her 3 month old puppy.
She collects dogs like other people collect knick~knacks.
Has gone back to school now to be a licensed cosmetologist.

Other people just out for a ride- to see the sign and pull in. Whatever works.
At times my yard looks like a used car lot- At others, it's like a mini ghost town.

I wasn't going to open it this weekend either- Until the gal down the road put an ad in the paper advertising her own sale.
So out came my sign.  (Hmmm... Does that make me a thief somehow)?
And a whole lot of pretty men too! (I will just have to open more often)! Mmm
***wipes drool off screen***
hehehe

Casey has come out every day- Up and at 'em real early for me too- Even if no one is here besides us, I can think of no better company than her own. She is just so funny- even in pain, (and sometimes because of it too). That is so special!

Casey- after a long day at the sale
CaseyFace! hehehe
... Brings a whole new meaning to "You Go, Girl"

I'd better close for now and get my dishes done- 2+ days without doing those.
(Don't tell anyone).

I hope you are ALL having a great weekend too!

My love to all

XOXO
Me

PS
From my 'bizarre newsletter': "September 2 is National Beheading Day."
I will need a show of hands (I mean "heads"), to see who goes first?!? hehehe

Good Morning All.
By now most of you have figured out that CaseyAnne, Jenny Mella, and Nykquee all went to Texas to bring Jennifer and Isaiah back to Flintville.
As for the state of Jenne's marriage I will just cite "irreconcilable differences".

Speaking of states... was too...

And speaking of speaking... hehehe

I have just spoken to CaseyFace for the 3rd time today. They are about 75 miles south of Bloomington, Illinois- On the return trip.

They 'lost' Nykquee and Jenny Mella at St. Louis when Nyks Mom texted her with scary news about her grandmother.

Nyk and Jen are home already, renting a car in St. Louis and driving straight through the night. Please CLICK and see Nyk's Blog for her update.

So that leaves my Jenne, with Isaiah, and Casey on the road. Casey is driving the pickup- Jenne has her own car.

They stopped for breakfast in Lynchburg, IL.

They should be here by around 7 tonight, God willing and the creeks don't rise.

I took this picture right before Casey left last week...

And have it posted low on the wall for Punk to see.
Punk will look at it, lay down; and even sleep there.

Miller does not miss Casey as Punk does.

Indeed, he has his own object of affection.

Stealing it right out from my rummage sale items...

Rummage sale?
was too...
First to get that BIG door on the shed fixed so I can open it up.

It needed new springs.
So Brandy and her dad sweat buckets just to loosen the old one.

Taking it with them, they went to Pulaski to replace it. No luck either at the co~op or the hardware store. But got a tip that a place in Bonduel still carried the springs with the old fashioned springs on them. She called en route to Bonduel, as I questioned their sanity to drive miles and miles looking for them...

They returned without, even driving back to Green Bay to check out Fleet Farm.
Sadly, having to backtrack all just to reinstall the old spring. I feel bad for their waste of time and energy.

Having to make tracks myself here today, I must keep this short(er).

But out of curiosity, I am wondering...

For now I have got to clean up. I cooked a turkey yesterday, and never did get caught up on my dishes. Lots to do, and time is growing short.

Have a "wunnaful" Wednesday! And if you have a moment to welcome a new friend of mine, I would really like it if you would take a moment to visit Beth's page. Her own daughter will be having the same surgery as Casey did the week before Christmas.
Please CLICK HERE to visit her page and to say hello. Her daughter's surgery is in 2 weeks.

Love to all.

XOXO

Just so you know why I have become almost invisible.

Good Morning Everyone;
After days of wishing my head was in the river somewhere, I am back to a bit more normal. (Whatever THAT is)? hehehe

Been reading a few websites; and the later comments and such about different issues.

One that reached out and grabbed me was regarding brushing teeth after throwing up.
Your dentist will verify all of the info there.

I awoke yesterday morning at the first crack of thunder- about 3AM. A few minutes later my cell phone rang- Casey, also woken.

The storms weren't bad, just really grumbly, and just enough to allow me to sleep a bit and then BOOM I was awakened again and again.
Gave up that fight and went to the annual rummage sale at Sts. Edward and Isidore in Flintville.
Yes, we have a bar, a church and a graveyard. (All sort of 'related' in a very warped way).

They had lots of stuff- 2 huge rooms full of stuff, and a few other rooms with jewelry, collectibles, holiday things, books, etc

I opted to get a few of these cast iron toys/decorations...

Old iron nutcracker
An old nutcracker...

And a few other cast iron treasures too.

.

My dad had an old cast iron Studebaker bank. When it got almost full one could shake a quarter or two out of it. But boy was it heavy!
As were these "finds" of mine. (I bought them, carried them out to the car, and then went back in because I wasn't going to lug them around 'til I was done looking around).

** Please forgive the rather raunchy picture quality- I had the camera settings for another project and never gave it a second thought.

As I pulled out of the yard yesterday, there was a gaggle of seagulls in the field across the street, along with this guy.

Noisy but beautiful...

Big Bird

Taken from about 300 yards away-
One of the sand cranes that return every year...

Imagine running into him in a dark alley!
hehehe
.
.
Not much other stuff going on.
Rain, rain, and more rain.
Know that we need it, but maybe one sunny day between would be nice?

Enough about Flintville, I hope you are all having sunny days, even if it's raining!

My love to all.

Pics, 'Blags'; and 'Never You Mind'...

Pics, Blags; and "Never You Mind"...

.

.

Good Morning All;
I really HAVE been around; just spend LOTS of time reading about these dang politics of ours.
Wait, don't hang up. This is NOT a political blog. (Blag)?

hehehe

It has been so long since I have "blagged" that a few of these pics/thoughts might be 'repeats'.
(If that is the case, kindly refer to the fact that I am
50 now)!

I have received more pictures from my son-in-law, William.
Cute pics of my Little Lawrence and their family.
(Lawrence who clearly, I am not going to be able to call "little" anymore).

Almost the whole crew...
(Minus me of course).

Quoting William here:
"This is a type of sand shark that we caught by hand.
It's an angel shark,
Lawrence said what it was right when we pulled out of the water."
.

Um, wait a minute there Will.
I'm not too sure I want to be catching ANY kind of sharks by hand!
(And I don't care if it's an 'angel' or not)...

Not too sure what one would do with such a thing either...

Does one eat it?

Feed it to the dogs?

Release it?

Throw it at someone you don't like?

.

Cnv0034 by you.
Not sure what Lawrence is looking for...
(But I'm damn sure happy I wasn't hiding in the grasses that day)!

hehehe

Y'all better CLICK HERE to see what happens if you don't wear one.

Not too sure what these are...
~To me, they look like the biggest darn goldfish ever~
And the "goldfish" don't look too happy either...

.

See my comment from William himself below... (Among other things, he has ended the question of what kind of fish these are).

Meanwhile, on this side of the Mason Dixon Line, my sister Kris has completed her first triathlon with her cousin Bill.

Say "YAY" !!!!

AND, she came in 2nd in her age group too!
(Never you mind that there were only 2 entrants FOR her age group).
.

Even more pictures?
My Angel Mama Marie has posted a new album of pictures of their Damion and his lil' brother, our Baby Sam.
Please click here to see these darling young men!

On the homefront, I think I know why Sputnik is the deep purple color that he is.

hehehe
Yes, Casey had found me some purple drop-ins for the toilet!
(And yes, that darned cat prefers purple water)...

Also on the homefront:
Austin Straubel Airport has changed their incoming flight patterns.

Cnv0211
.

.

This, I do not appreciate, for two reasons:
#
1. They are LOUD when they are flying over.
#
2. Punk has taken to chasing them clear across the field.
While this is good exercise for her, it startles people terribly... (Me, for instance).

No, she hasn't caught one yet.
And yes, it is probably safer than chasing cars
...

Casey took this picture...
(Swearing that she didn't get it too).

.

Cnv0014 by you.
Methinks she got it just fine!
(This is how the cucumbers all get bitemarks in them too)...

sigh

.

.

And one more thought here, but very important to my Multiply friends...

If you are wondering why I do not comment on your videos, please know this...
If you post one of these, video by you., I cannot watch it. I have dial up.
Even www.hughes.net is quite spendy.
So, until hell freezes over, (or until I find a different home), I will not be commenting on these.
(Unless of course you 'splain them to me on an 8~year~old level)...

I'd better close for now. have taken that giant leap of faith and put my little sale in the paper for today... I'd best get out there and start moving a few things outside.
It might rain. Those "few things" had better be waterproof too.

Have a 'wunnaful' weekend!
Special thanks to William and Kris and Marie for all the pictures!

Love to all.

XOXO
Anne

PS

The question of the day now...

What is your very 1st thought when you see this picture?

The Last of August? ~Come if you can...

This picture, as always, is self~explanatory...
hehehe
.
.
Good Morning all;
It is so hard to believe that this is the last day of August already!
Temps are to be in the 90's for the next three days.
Not too bad though because it cools off so nicely at night.

Our little sale has been open for the past three days. Kelli has just left once again after coming to help me open the big garage door. (Thank You Kelli)!

One of my earliest customers yesterday was a gal I grew up with. They had a farm too.
Rare within our school district, (Howard Suamico), even in those days.

Mary had just come from her sisters house...
Her sister has a daughter, 32, who during the last few weeks of her pregnancy was feeling poorly. After a few blood tests it was determined to do a C~Section to deliver baby early.
Baby is doing very well.
His mama died early yesterday morning.
An extremely rare cancer of the liver that feeds off of hormones. Her pregnancy made it grow so very fast...
So sad for everyone.

While Mary was here, she offered to go upstairs to the attic of the garage. I have been putting this off because of my back. Up she went!
After an hour of searching and finding things, she had also handed me some of the old crates that we had used for picking strawberries and raspberries. (Just seeing them made me feel like my back was burnt and my fingers were red)!
Funny, this intense power of recall that I have...
.
.
Does anyone know anything about old fruit crate labels?

We never had given these a second thought until yesterday.

Here are a few that were up there...

.
(They are locked up now until I find out more about them).
hehehe

Lots of traffic through here on this Labor Day weekend. Most people in search of school clothes. (This comes as no surprise)!
And so I have sold a few of those, making it possible for me to put a few more bags out.
.
.
Casey was out to help yesterday too.
.
.
Cnv1201 by you.

.
Sassy, (but kinda cute)!
hehehe

.
.
Laurie's youngest son Brett also came out- Casey helped him try to figure out his work- an essay for college- (Some Psychology that baffles even the most articulate minds).
Insert my foot stomping here. I did not even take ONE single picture of the two of them together! Mad about that too.
While he was here, Sean called from Iraq! I am so proud of them all. Sean is the middle son.
Mike is Laurie's oldest- Father of Baby Mariah.
CLICK HERE to visit Mariahs CaringBridge pages.
Please leave them a comment while you are there.
***In Miss Micki's own words,
"I will close this post by saying the words everyone is writing in the guestbook is what has been keeping me strong these past few days. We are overwhelmed with the amount of support and prayers that are being said for Mariah. It gives me great comfort that Mariah has inspired so many people in her very short life. She is and always will be loved by so many people.

God Bless,
Micki"
...end quote...

I'd better fly for now- Much to do today to prepare for the picnic tomorrow.
Here is a link to my other Labor Day entries.
http://flintville.multiply.com/tag/labor_day
Scroll about 1/3rd of the way down to read "The History of it all..."
or CLICK HERE to read about how this all has come to pass.

And pass it will.
This will be the last year for it.
At the very least, the last year to have it here.

My friend Harold stopped in Saturday- He has been a real estate agent around Green Bay for many years. I spoke with him at length. He will be getting back to me soon. There are plenty of homes on the market so I should have a lions share to choose from. I told him Hobart; or areas north, possibly Upper Michigan.
I know I sound like this is easy. But I assure you it is not.

I'd better close for now...
But before I do I have two questions...
Does anyone ever click on any of my links?
And do you know anything about those labels?

Hope you are all enjoying this notoriously 'last' weekend of summer!

Love to all!

XOXO
Anne
