Good Morning All;
Had a bit of a rough night. Forgetting to take my 2nd pain pill of the day, I climbed into bed- About 3 hours into my 'nap', I woke, and could not move.  What the heck does one do in this situation? I took inventory...
Back? Hurts.
Bladder? Getting there.
Patience level? Hanging in there.
So I went back to sleep. (For another hour anyway).
Rechecked all my gauges when I woke again.  Still OK-  Back worse though.
So for a third time I fell back to sleep...
There comes a time in the course of human events that no pain, and no 'adjustment' will empty my bladder, save for a trip to the toidy. I might have cussed a bit as I finally got to my feet, and a few more curses as I made my way to the powder room. But oh it felt good to sit down and piddle. hehehe
Then to get a pain pill. My back is a bit better now. (Know that "better" is NOT the correct word, less painful would be More politically correct).

Politically correct? Made aware of this by Will, and entitled the "
The Conservative Bible Project", I am having a rough time actually believing that the Bible can be rewritten, again. This time adding a political swing to it. Click here.  Ask your pastors etc what they think.
Senator Warren Rudman "The millions of Christians in this country reflect just about every conceivable political point of view. For one highly conservative group to proclaim itself 'the Christian Coalition' strikes me as decidedly un-Christian arrogance.... We reflect countless races, religions and lifestyles, and we often differ on questions of morality and behavior.
The only way so diverse a nation can survive is by all of us practicing a high degree of tolerance.
But tolerance is not the way of the Christian right. Its leaders want to impose their one-size-fits-all morality on everyone.
It won't work.
When any group tries to impose its values on everyone else, the result will inevitably be resentment, hatred and violence."

Thoughts? It is Thursday, and I should be able to come up with a few- (Not 13 perhaps, but I shall try)...

Not normally one to even click on the Emusing site, I could not help myself on this one.
Entitled, "The Insult Generator", I had to giggle when it said this about me. "You politically ambiguous pseudo-genius vain b*tch!(That's a kind one). hehehe
Besides, "
pseudo-genius" is pushing it...

Do you believe the global warming?
"The coming global warming bust"
By WESLEY PRUDEN
"We were all supposed to be dead by now, done in by AIDS, the gift of the gays.
After that it was SARS, bequeathed to the world by China.
Then it was avian flu, which, to be fair to the alarmists, did in fact result in the deaths of millions. The millions were all chickens, true, but chickens have feelings, too. You could ask the folks at..

I received a few notes in my regular email about Monday Nights Packer Game against Minnesota.
Larry McCarren said it best on his Locker Room Live Show on Tuesday evening, summing it all up pretty neatly in his entrance monologue"
"They can't do it with their own guys...
They gotta steal our guys.
Who's your quarterback?  Well... The Packers all time leading passer
Who's your kicker?  Well... The Packers all time leading scorer.
They are not capable of growing their own."     Still laughing!

Casey has to make her appointment to get her Swine Flu shot.
Dr Steve Kagan warned of the H1N1 virus in these words.
"This virus is such that you could have a sore throat in the morning, a chest cold in the evening, and be on a ventilator for life support that night- and maybe not make it through to the next day- So this is the kind of virus you have to take very seriously."
  • Will you be getting this immunization, or are you taking your chances?

I received this in my email...

Wasp Spray
I have a friend who is a receptionist in a church in a high risk area who was concerned about someone coming into the office on Monday to rob them when they were counting the collection.
She asked the local police department about using pepper spray and they recommended to her that she get a can of wasp spray instead.
The wasp spray, they told her, can shoot up to twenty feet away and is a lot more accurate; while with the pepper spray they have to get too close to you and could overpower you.
The wasp spray temporarily blinds an attacker until they get to the hospital for an antidote.
She keeps a can on her desk in the office and it doesn't attract attention from people like a can of pepper spray would. She also keeps one nearby at home for home protection. You could also keep it in your car and it would  be legal. Interesting thinking. Be safe.

I haven't seen even ONE wooly bear caterpillar this year. Have you? Legend claims that if the rusty band is wide, then it will be a mild winter. The more black there is, the more raunchy the winter.
I never did know if that meant temps or snowfall?

Speaking of weather...
Pete Petoniak has just muttered the "S" word in the forecast for
Saturday and Monday. He tried to hide this with the mention of mere 'flakes'. I don't think so!
Flakes are either snow or dandruff, and since he is the weatherman, I don't think he was talking about his hair.
But first, rain today- a few showers.

I got a bunch of work done around the place. My back did not like it much, but oh well.
The hoses are put away for the year- And all I have left to do is get the water shut off- (I have to crawl down in the water pit for that, and prefer to have someone else around when I do that).
I mowed a bit around the house and the shed.

I have to save a few seeds from my messy flowers too. Will get to that in~between raindrops today.
(Michelle, are you ever coming for your Black~Eyed~Susans)?

Remember this little flower from last week?

Slowly but surely the fields are getting cleared too... They removed an entire truckload 2 days ago- And have about 7 acres left to pick.

When the picking was done, it was time to get the pool cleaned, dried, folded, and stored.
They did a great job helping me out with this too.

Truth be known, I didn't help. I just watched...
..
Does anyone know if I can keep that in the (unheated) pumphouse? Or should I have them bring it to the basement?

Also, lots of us are changing our antifreeze, flushing the systems and whatnot.

So these are all the places my mind has gone today.
Where is yours? hehehe

Love to all. Have a "wunnaful" day!

Full Frontal! (And "the moon" too)!

SatRAIN
This is what popped up on my weather screen earlier today.
Interesting!
And gives us a bit more rain today too.
.
.
Good Morning!
We are finally to get out of the high 60's and lower 70's - And perhaps even a chance of seeing a bit of sunshine today too!

That sunshine, mixed well with the rains we have already gotten, have caused a few more flowers to blow up!

Pretty!
"If the first week of August is unusually warm, the winter will be white and long."
From The Old Farmer's Almanac

.
.
.
No worries there. The first week of our August was unusually cool.
Today to be in the mid 80's, with plenty of humidity. And a chance for a nasty T~storm later on in the afternoon or evening.
Tomorrow will be in the 90's, with a heat index over 100. (Me no likey)!

Damn fine thing that pool is all shocked, and de~algae~ed, (among other things).
We will be using it!

You giggled at the shot I took of Greg, er, "filling the pool".
hehehe
(I giggled too)!

So, without further adieu...
Here's that full frontal shot...

Such a helpful cutie! (um, "I guess").

Hey, I didn't say Full Monty.
.
.
Having had to go 'shopping' for a few things to re~secure my home, Casey and I had stopped and bought a box spring for their new bed.
When Jenne left town, she had told me to $ell the rest of the stuff she had left behind.
Casey has paid me a dollar for the handmade bed I had originally given to Jenne. I had also given her a brand new pillowtop Serta, which she had also left behind. (Another dollar has exchanged hands).
While we were out shopping that day, I had made my way back to the car to pull up front.
I had to wait for these guys to cross...
.
.
.
Cnv0939
Brave little buggars they were too!
.
.
We got back here and worked a while more on the pool. Straightening out the pool cover, Casey got a wasp in her jeans...
Stung her 4 times too!
Up until that point, I really didn't know how well Casey could dance.
~More of a jig, complete with sound effects, than a real dance though.
Must have been the Sullivan "Irish" in her blood coming out-
(The drunken Irishman also rearing his ugly head)!
hehehe
.
.
Cnv0942
After a generous splattering of Extra~Strength Benadryl cream
she then attached an ice pack to her back side
before heading down to Kelli's to help with the horses.

We are invited to go over to Laurie's this afternoon. A party for my godson.

If the weather doesn't get too hot too early I may stay a bit longer than Casey and Greg- (They will be dining on Sushi tonight).
Even if those storms come later, maybe they will be gone by moonrise tonight.

I took this picture as I wandered outside on Thursday night...

Good Morning All;
I have been remiss with my blogging, feeling much like this cat...
.
no brain

Picture stolen from an email
.
.
I have had another migraine since last night... Been fighting that on my own, here; and obviously feeling a bit better right now.

Sunday found us back at the hospital with Casey's pancreas.
She is home, having had her pain treated again. One day someone will figure something out. In the meantime I am questioning the hundreds of thousands of dollars spent educating these doctors.
.
.
I had Master Gabriel- And so our visit was spent at St. Marys.
.
.
Gabriel and I have a little routine...
I pick him up, and we go to the local Kwik Trip Station-
He always gets a banana.

And so that is what he is holding here...

What does Casey think about not being able to eat or drink anything?

I dropped Gabriel off as we left the hospital. But having had that day cut short, I did pick him up again on Monday; being able to spend the whole day with him.
And we were real busy!

Beans to pick...

And to 'picnic' on too!

and to the remnants of my silly garden.

Master Gabriel picked an ear of corn for each of the dogs...

Sue and Glenn came over to gather the fallen apples and pears.
(They have tame deer that they can hand feed these to).

I shot darts with Sue, Carol, and Beth for many years.
We did very well together too.

Just one handful of pears...

Glenn came with the pails then...

This is only their 2nd trip this year.

Kind of short pickings on the apples,
but the pears have grown well.

Notice the brown ones on the ground too.

Left behind by the deer, with bites out of them too.
They are covered with wasps, bees and hornets.

Can anyone tell me why that one on the top right is markedly different from his striped friends?
I can't find any information on this one,
(looks like it mated with a black widow spider to have that little hourglass on his hinder).

.

Cnv0323 by you.
Gabriel loves the pears!
(He ate 3 of them)...

And his flowers too!

And that is why those deer are being hand fed my apples and pears; as the trees, some reluctantly, have given up their fruit for this year.

Glenn deals with the more 'reluctant' apples...
.
.
.
I owe Gritter and her husband much for picking these fruits and removing them for me.
.

Glenn is hysterical...

Sassy too sometimes!
hehehe
.

Kind of the same sense of humor as the dogs...

You DO see the resemblance, don't you?

Love to all!
Have a 'wunnaful' Thursday!
As for me, I am going to try to nap a bit longer. Because I damn sure feel like I still have "The Dumb".

XOXO

Too Much...

  magnify
I know how our little guy feels...
.
.
Good Morning Everyone;
It's been a long weekend 'round these parts- (Made longer by the near 90 temps, more of that heat/humidity today too)...

I think I have a bit of a strep throat.
I do have a wonderful immune system, so this too shall pass. Just that in the meanwhile, I have a fever- lots of tummy upset, and of course that 'strawberry' tongue.
Add to that the fact that I feel like "ca~ca"...
I did sleep a whole bunch from late yesterday afternoon, until about 3 or so this morning. That always helps!

Back to our weekend though...
Busy would be one way to describe it.
(Busy BUSY would be another)...

1st, "That Damnable Pancreas"...
Casey wound up at the hospital once more on Saturday night- So very much pain all over again. The doctors say it is time to rethink her position on not taking any painkillers. (I think so too). They gave her 4 rounds of dilaudid to even put a dent in it for her. She will have to see her regular doctor here either today or tomorrow.

Getting a ride from Miss Marie, Gabriel's mama came to pick him up on Saturday evening. Sure has been quiet around here- (But quiet enough to get a bit of sleep too). hehehe

He had been busy too!

He plays hard...

(It took a few minutes to get her out)!

.

No I have not yet opened up our sale.
(But that hasn't stopped a few people from pulling in either)!
I tell them "SOON"...

I'd better close for now.

But before I do, know that I ask for you to visit Baby Mariah's page on Caring Bridge. She too was brought to the hospital yesterday... Faxed results from Chicago's MRI test were not good.
.
cancer ribbons by you.
.
Please visit and do leave a little note for her/her family.
They are going through so very much right now, and any prayers, thoughts and compassion are surely welcomed. It takes only a moment of your time, and a small piece of your heart.

Love to all.
