Good Early Morning Everyone;
Odd isn't it how one can be busy, (mostly), yet have nothing truly new to add to a blog/story? What's up with that?

I have been fighting off this migraine for about 4 days now. Maybe that means it has almost run its course- Maybe not. (But I damn sure hope so).
Finally, on Wednesday I called to ask Casey if

I refuse to watch a Packers game where I have to wonder who is paying off the officials...

Good Morning All!
By now y'all know that I am not getting here as often as I would like; nor sharing all that I [c]ould.
(Yes, it is my fault).
Maybe one day my hands will loosen up a bit and I will be able to type better again. (Not that I could type well before)-
Not sure what this is all about, just that there seems to be a short in the circuitry between my fingers and my keyboard... Yes, along with trying to bounce my plates off the floor, they hurt too.
But hey, today I am not posting a Flintville blog... hehehe

But I must tell you that the original title of the links below

That title says it all, (well, almost)...
My title -as clarified, means a piece of "The Pack!"

The Shot at XLV, --- and the "Shot"-

KELLI-BABY!
picture taken in Summer

Hi Everyone;
As you all {must} know by now, it is Super Bowl Sunday, and my beloved PACK is playing!
Say "YAY". hehehe

What a LONG day this will be... As we wait for the game to begin.
I have tried to stay away from all the news stories this morning, but have been unable to not peek at a few of them.

Like this story, from GREEN BAY, Wis.
(AP)—
Here’s how the NFL’s smallest city gets ready for the Super Bowl.

This one too- ARLINGTON, Texas — In the longest season in Green Bay Packers history, this is the longest day. Hyped-out, stocked up and emotionally all in, Packers World must now wait until the sun sets to find out if the Packers' first-ever February game will be a keeper. The Super Bowl, christened after the 1966 season and dominated by the Packers for its first two showings, is upon us.

Kickoff for the XLV matchup is 5:30 p.m., preceded by the interminable analysis and all the other fluff that is packaged with this sporting event, which has dwarfed all others in media and public obsession.

But, to steal a word from New York Jets coach Rex Ryan, this game, to Green Bay, is indeed "personal."

Then there's the story that prints the fact that Green Bay Packers fans live worldwide.

"Green Bay Packers fandom travels around globe - and back"

Australian Packers fan returns for big game as Wisconsin native roots for team Down Under

Read more from the worldwide fans HERE

I have also stayed away from calling Miss Kelli- I know her emotions of this all must be killing her, and it would be hard on us both to jinx this game in any way.

The "wait" since we won on the 23rd has almost been unbearable...
"
There was one Monster of the Midway in the NFC championship game and his name was Aaron Rodgers(notes).
He wasn’t even at his best and, still, he was better than the first, the second and the third quarterback used in vain by the Chicago Bears against their bitter rivals. CLICK HERE to read more.

This one- from Flintville WI...

Go Pack Go!

The local TV stations all contributing greatly to the hype surrounding this game. The hype that builds and builds and...
(Adding to the fact that my nerves are completely shot). hehehe

Wait- "Shot"?
Did I say "shot"???

Damn fine thing I had to have those shots in my back.
Yes, plural.
   Sure took my mind off this game for a while...

Needle in!
Epidural shot to my back.

Rumor has it that I might have run off at the mouth after they gave me the versed injection, and as soon as the doctor came in to see me...
Um... "hehehe"?
Ruh-roh-  (It is kind of funny to listen to Casey relate the story)...
Just that I will be kinda embarrassed to show my face there at my next appointment. (Think 'drunk' but kind- and unable to quite get the words out right).
Methinks "floobering" might be a good word. (No tears).
Oh well.
Did the shot work? I am happy to say that it did. Though the effect seems to be weakening a bit-
But I am so much better, pain-wise, than I was even 10 short days ago.

I will also be getting a Forteo infusion on the 22nd. I have heard both good and bad things about this-
Does anyone have anything to add, negative or positive of this annual therapy?

Gosh I had better close for now. I must vacuum before Greg gets here or he might sneeze during the game- Poor guy is allergic to the cat...
Casey has offered to cook for today, and I do not know what her menu might be- I will be making a few side things.

Hope all is well in your corner of the world!!!!

Now...  Who are YOU rootin' for????

My love to all.

OW!

G'mornin' all;
A horrible day for my back... So I will be keeping this short(er).

Greg got home from Milwaukee about 3 yesterday afternoon- 2 hours later, a very happy Greg and Casey left for their home.
I napped. hehehe

Casey is doing very well- A laparascope surgery is almost nothing to her now, after the major major cuts she has had in the past.
Still, the need to rest and heal is of the utmost importance.
She is one tough young lady!

Perhaps my back can be blamed on our beloved Pack for making me jump a few times on Saturday night, hehehe -but upon waking this morning, I am unable to barely walk enough to let the poor dog out. I have managed to move to a different chair as I need to. I have also managed to get Casey's car moved and the garage door closed. It is beginning to snow- It is to snow all day and night- It is falling straight across the yard too. Never a good thing.

I think I am the only Packers fan who has been holding their breath all season long- Ever since Grant was out for the year, (way back when), it seems that the rest of the Pack is dropping like dead flies.
Yet, it also seems that the more we lose players, the more strong we know we have to play, and the better we do.
Not to jinx anything, but I am so looking forward to the game this coming weekend, that this week will not pass fast enough for me!
Win or lose, the fact that we have gotten this far is freakin' fantabulous!
Honestly I think almost any Packers vs Bears game is better than the Super Bowl.

OK... That said, it is time for me to see if I can sit to sew a little now.

Hope all is well in your little corner of the world.
Love to all

XOXO

_______________________

From a recent charity fundraiser in Milwaukee for the MACC Fund. This is written by a sports anchor from Fox 6 in Milwaukee.
It doesn't get any better than this, especially in the age of selfish millionaires who think they are owed everything!

"Save Me a Spot"
This job affords me some incredible opportunities. Being a member of the FOX 6 Sports team means I've been able to witness and report on events and people that many can only admire from a distance. I never take these situations for granted and sincerely appreciate being involved in whatever capacity each permits.

Monday marked just the most recent case as I had the unparalleled privilege to be a part of Aaron Rodgers charity event to benefit the MACC Fund.

The MACC Fund is one of those incomparable organizations that has the curse of being perpetually under-appreciated. This is by no fault of the dedicated individuals involved with this amazing organization. Simply put, the MACC Fund can never be appreciated enough for the tireless efforts its employees and associates are making to help eradicate childhood cancer and blood disorders.

Scattered throughout the crowd of rabid Packers aficionados were the people who I consider the event's real MVPs. They are the families who've been forced to deal with one of life's toughest sentences - the loss of a child.
My interactions with these folks have always been touching, fulfilling and enlightening. Once, a family friend and the father of a teenage girl who passed away after a lengthy battle with the disease told me something that really resonated. Yes, his daughter's death was hard - an excruciating pain that can not be completely comprehended by anyone who's never been in that situation. But he also revealed that his daughter's memory didn't have to be the tragic tale of another countless cancer victim. Instead her legacy was much more joyful- as she was represented by all of the MACC Fund's survivors. The hundreds of thousands of other children who benefited from the research and findings his daughter's passing allowed. It was an unbelievably considerate and profound perspective in the midst of an otherwise heart-wrenching ordeal.

Those who sprung for the tickets were not disappointed. In a world where many athletes regurgitate canned and rehearsed responses, the Packers quarterback was refreshingly candid. Aaron addressed a number of topics with in-depth, honest reaction - even some that if reprinted and mass distributed might raise some eyebrows. Personally, I think a lot of the comments made should remain exclusive to those who made the effort to attend and support the MACC Fund's incredible cause but here are a few highlights/revelations:

Aaron stressed the importance of availability and accountability. In his opinion, it is a player's responsibility to attend all of the team activities as they are all intended to better the team as a whole.
And then, similarly, he addressed the importance of taking the heat/criticism when one falls short of expectations and duties.

He is never nervous to take the field. Aaron is supremely confident in the preparation he's put in during the week leading up to Sunday's match up. The way the 2009 season ended was disappointing but his self-confidence was not affected by the outcome. One of the toughest realizations was that that combination of players would never take the field together again. He likened the team to a family and admitted that conflict can and does occasionally exist but they try to handle such situations with maturity and civility.

He talked music and his love for tunes at a young age revealing that his mom used to sing and play lullabies and country music when he was a child. Aaron's record label Suspended Sunrise is a product of this passion but also a contingency plan for life after football. His favorite song is Ben Harper's 'Forever' and he's envious of John Mayer's guitar skills though not his tabloid reputation. He appreciated my affinity for Keith Urban but gave the audience a thumbs-down when I mentioned fellow country crooner Kenny Chesney.

He commented on his recent foray into the Twittersphere (@AaronRodgers12) - how he originally thought the social networking site was "stupid" but now he appreciates its role in communicating with his fans where the message is less likely to be misconstrued or misquoted.

His favorite book is The Bible and he tries to read it every day not just when life's challenges and struggles surface.

His favorite movie is The Princess Bride which he admits he's caught flack for but says he and his childhood friends can recite every line from the film and it is simply a
great story.

Rodgers' answers and poise on this night were certainly admirable.
And I honestly didn't think I could respect Aaron more than I did when we wrapped our hour-long question and answer segment. But I was wrong.

My friend, the father of that young girl who passed, was there that night - enjoying the opportunity to reconnect with many of his MACC Fund family members and revel in the charity's big night.
He was one of several attendees brought up on stage where he caught a football thrown by the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers. The evening was already a smashing
success for him and his grateful family.

And then he asked Aaron to sign the football he'd caught. He wondered if he'd make it out to his daughter. It isn't shocking that Rodgers obliged.
What caught me off guard was the dedication he made. It wasn't until after Aaron left that I first saw the autograph... and the simple yet sweet message that brought tears to this father's eyes: "To Cheri the angel. Save me a spot. - Aaron Rodgers"

I hope that Packers fans realize how lucky they are to have such an upstanding young man leading their team on the field every weekend. I hope they appreciate the challenges that were thrust upon him and acknowledge the maturity with which he handled them. I hope they stand behind the kid and respect him not only for his incredible talent but for his intelligence and honesty, poise and compassion.

My job has afforded me the chance to watch Aaron Rodgers play football for the last few seasons. But I am truly thankful for the opportunity to see the other side of this impressive young man. And pass on some of what I witnessed to you.

Good Morning!
First of all, Punkie seems to be better; having woken me so she could pee, poo, and EAT!

Or maybe she woke me because something was up. (I am still not sure what that something may have been).

I left her outside- a bit after 3AM.
As I walked out with her, I noticed parking lights, on the road, but by my 2nd driveway.
I slowly walked toward Punk (who had to pee worse than anything), and grabbed her collar, telling her 'shush'.
(No that didn't work).
We waited and watched for a minute; me trying to subdue this 100.3 pound dog of mine, and to squelch the growling too-
Finally, I hollered out, "Who the hell is out there, and what the hell do you want?!?"
A few seconds later, a car pealed out-
(Mach 3 at least)...
Like I said, I am still not sure what that was all about.
Yes, as my mouth is, so my guns are at the ready if need be.

As I said above, Punk does seem better this morning-
As Peachie suggested, and I concur; methinks it just might have been a bit of depression for the wee pup.

Either that or it is very odd that she seemed better after a visit from these two.

Yet, being a Packers Fan doesn't run in my whole family.
(I hope you were sitting down for that sentence).
Punk chooses NOT to watch these games; rather she falls to sleep on the couch during them!
WTH?!?!?

That may be my own fault... As I watch, I have a tendency to be silent, and quietly 'coach' to the best of my ability.
Every now and then, something akin to "Tourettes Syndrome" strikes me; I holler, curse, and scream-
Perhaps a bit LOUDLY...

This of course startles the poor pooch into being wide awake...

And UP pops that head,
...and those eyes!

Hi All;
Just a short note to say hello to you, and to let you know we are alright.
Casey has decided to try acupuncture.
Have any of you tried this for anything?
Having not ever tried it myself, my own feelings are mixed on it...
Please let us know.

In searching for a 'provider', Casey called me and asked if I knew a man... Turns out he is my old doctor, (and by old I mean 'ex' doctor)... He retired from his field and went into acupuncture believing he still had much to offer the medical community.
He was a wonderful doctor to me when I had him.

Not too much other news.  Or is there?...

As many of you already know, I have already grown quite tired of politicking this year.
Ted Thompson apparently has not.
(I can't quite figure out his silly~@ss thought process either)...

Nor have I been able to figure out exactly what it is that he is so afraid of? (Feel free to clue me in).

Mama always said:
"If you can't be right, be wrong at the top of your voice."
Mama sure was smart.

When applied to Ted Thompson, this seems to be exactly what he has been doing.
In my little book, he IS an unmitigated @sshole.

Seems the old boy thinks he has a year or two left in him. And since he has been the face of this organization for almost 20 years, he should have another season, and open arms. He already knows he has mine.

I had a prescription to pick up yesterday at CVS.
An uneventful little trip; (um, until I was driving home)...

A bit of background for you...

1st stop, CVS Pharmacy.
(They even handed out a big treat~bone for Punk)!

I object; that's just not fair to me at all. My own tummy is growling, so on to Mickey Dee's for a sandwich.
(Punk gets two treats at the 'pay' window)!! Big ones too!

Knowing that another trip to Mayo will put me over the 3000 mile mark, I stopped to have my oil changed. I spent the whole time (PLUS extra), talking to the nicest man who had seen Casey on TV, and even remembered her!
(This man just kept feeding Punk treats, I have no clue how many she got)...

After that, I had stopped at the Shell Station on the highway to fill 'er up.
And then to go back home...
Kinda boring huh?

Wait for it now...

As I merged onto the highway, there was barely any traffic. There was one pickup truck that must have thought he owned the road. He did not budge from his lane to allow me access. Dork. Naturally I had to slow and let him pass.

As I got up to speed again, he hit his brakes.
WTH?

I see through his rear window that he is flipping me off.
WT"effing"H?!?!?

As he was slowed, I pulled out to pass him; grabbing my camera in the process. (This, for me, is now a completely involuntary action).

As I pass him, he is literally screaming profanities out his window at me.
Punk wastes no time letting him know he was being a dickhead.
And just so you know, I have never seen her snarl and growl before.
(Must have been all those treats)!!!

I called her down. She obeyed, quite begrudgingly-
(But hey, I just had to snap a picture)...

I just smiled, (and real big) at him.

It occurs to me that not everybody in Suamico is as nice as I am.

Home again, safe and sound; with a cold burger.

Thanking the Lord for my microwave, I ate quickly; and then had to go pull a few weeds.

Good Morning Everyone;
As many of you might know, Casey was quite ill on Monday- And was sent home from a doctor appointment with a note from her doctor for a week off. (She may return on the 7th).
He said she has been overdoing it all, and with her pain 24/7 she does not sleep right. He said even when she is asleep that her body cannot truly sleep because of the pain.
She is back on her morphine... I brought her to her apartment after her appointment, and she went to sleep.
She took Tuesday off.
And tried to return yesterday. (That didn't work, and she was back home by about 10 or so).
Not sure now if the clinic will wait for her regular doctor to return now before they send the referral off to Mayo.

Casey and Greg came out Tuesday evening to pick up a few old things for their new place. That does too make sense.

While they were here, they also carried the old TV stand out to the shed; (it had been stuck in the kitchen for over a week).
We also got two old chests emptied and carried down from the attic.
(Thank you Kids)!

I now have a few places to 'hide' all the blankets in the living room.

.

We did get those storms yesterday-
And oh boy, did we ever get the rain too!
The skies just kept opening up and dumping on us...
.
.
Cnv0525...........Cnv0524

Weird cloud formations as the winds picked up too.
.
.
I'd closed off here, and unplugged my computersaurus just as fast as I'd come on.
I got in the shower, (still respecting/EXpecting that coroner)...
Such a wuss I am with these storms...

At some point during that shower, I became almost unable to breathe.
(No I hadn't done anything out of the ordinary either).
Having been able to bathe myself for many years now I believe I have it down to a science.
Kinda hard to screw that up...

But in record time, and ever so quietly, my favorite jackass returned.
He snuck into the bathroom while Punk was not looking, and kicked me in the back all over again. ..
.
.
~~~~Do you remember THIS guy???~~~~
Because I sure as heck would love to forget him...
.
.
So he found me at the most inopportune moment...
...Soaking wet and buck 'nekkid' really IS an inopportune time to have the wind knocled out of your soul...
And THEN I had a b*tch of a time just to be getting dressed...
I am afraid to even ask 'What Next?" ... (So I won't).
I am not sure if this is a carryover from my previous fracture, or if it is 'new'.
But whatever it is, I can barely move/breathe/function at this point.
Kelli stopped in after work yesterday, even rolling the dumpster back up the driveway for me! She fed Punk and watered Miss Milly too... Thank God for Kelli.
And how weird is this too?
As I type, her honey has surgery this morning for his back.
I was SO sorely tempted to go to the hospital at 5AM~
(and register as "TIM")... !?!
But I'd called in to the clinic yesterday. Even extra vicoden didn't make it better.
I have an appointment this morning for 8:45...
And yes, I have already asked Grant to plow my damnable weedy garden under when he has a few minutes.
You can bet your sweet bippy that I will have ESPN on today too.
No one seems to be sure if Mr Brett Favre will return or not...
And if I have read THIS STORY (click on that) correctly, I am deeply disturbed by the Green Bay Packers organization.
.
Brett is not a quarterback to be sitting on.
.
.
2035 ???
hehehe
.
Old.
Young.
Retired or returned...
We love you Brett!
.
.
Hope you all have a grand Thursday!
Love to all.
XOXO
Anne
