..

G-g-g-good M-m-morning!
hehehe
No, I have NOT gone outside yet today.
Miss Milly came in, (against her own better judgement), as soon as I got done plowing the yard out last night. I think that was about 9:00...
But even then I was still warm. Doubled up on the socks, a muffler, my snowpants (which gratefully are about 26 sizes too big and accomodate 2 pairs of pants underneath)!
Hehehe... ~Can you say "Bumble"???

When I had gone up north, I had forgotten my gloves. I stopped at a leather goods store and bought a decent pair of them - again, 2 sizes too big so I could put the other gloves on inside of them. Toasty warm!

The only traffic on the road last night (mostly) traveled quite slow; not willing to see who would win in this "man~against~nature" thing we have going on right now. But every now and then a snowmobile flew right down the road, about 80 mph too. (Show offs)! hehehe
No, that is not legal; but given the weather, and the condition of the roads etc etc etc, I surely understand WHY they chose to go from Point A to Point B on the road too.
Besides, what would I care what goes down the road while I am clearing the snow out there? As long as they don't decide to hit me. (I would hate to have that Cub Cadet get ruined)...

I'd put The Punk in the kennel with Mama Milly while I plowed... Mama Milly not wont to be sharing her warmed house with her offspring, but Punk just stayed out of the wind for the most part. And yes, she was fine. In addition to the 2+ bags of red cedar chips and an old sleeping bag in Millys insulated dog house, there is also a layer of cedar chips outside of it. I saw Punk just staying there, watching the snowmobiles, on the trails; and barking her fool head off with the ones that dared go down the road. Funny to see.

Also very funny to see was when the police helicopter had flown over on Wednesday afternoon. We hear the 'thud~thud~thuds' of the rotary blades well before we see it.
Playing outside with Mama Milly, Punk stops,
(and with every available strand of fur standing straight up).
A very low, (and very p-r-o-l-o-n-g-e-d), menacing growl; as she looks down the driveway, then out to the field.
*In the meantime I am trying to direct her attention to the skies.
Tough call for a dog, especially as the thudding echoes off any/all buildings.
She ran in circles, growling all the while...
.

.
...And she suddenly hightails straight back to the woods! Jumping over drifts, spraying snow 6 feet out, and even plowing the snow with her nose! By this time, the chopper is almost directly overhead. Now that she is away from the buildings, she hears it from only one direction, and comes racing all the way back to the house...
Finally spying it in the sky, she even tried to jump!!!

.

(Nope, that doesn't work either)!

All the while Mama Milly, being the outside dog that she is, could not have cared less. I literally had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard!

.

My reading this morning.
Not my picture though...
Stolen from >here<

With our windchills right now in the high teens below zero...

.

.

The week has been unending as we all await the final playoff game between the Packers and The Giants here at Lambeau on Sunday.

.

Snapped this picture on the way to Robertas dental appointment.

.

But the area will not be so abandoned for long. Imagine that even yesterday the national sports stations were all setting up their equipment. If they were smart anyway, they would have set up yesterday; (knowing the deep freeze would begin last night).

Back Home to SNOW!

Back Home to SNOW!
Back Home to SNOW! magnify
Sunset on Lake Michigan... kinda
Sorry it is blurry; (not sure what I am doing wrong lately).
.

Good Morning Everyone;

Yes I have been gone; running away for a few days...
But gee, I have returned home in plenty of time to be shoveling and plowing and worrying about CaseyFace.

Please just read her blog because I damn sure don't know which way to turn anymore. If you cannot read her blog, just suffice it to say that the hospital here wants her to go to Froedtert today. On the bright side, she was not admitted here last night.

Perhaps I will make this a two~blog day, if I ever do get caught up around here. I have a few stories to share with you all.

And I want to let you know how very much I have enjoyed answering all your questions. If you think of more, please just ask! It really IS fun! And you have ALL made my 500th blog a wonderful success! Thank you SO much.

But for now, I must get outside; having been on the phone and online all morning, and NOT accomplishing anything of substance.

And the freakin' snow just keeps coming- Not sure of the values (they keep changing their danged minds). I have heard now anywhere between 3 and 8 inches.
Oh well.
At any rate, I do need to get this first part cleaned up.
God, I am just so tired...

Hope all is well and warm in your little corners of the world!

Love to all!

XOXO
Anne

Pretty please?  It does seem to be working at this point!

Good Morning All!
You might want to grab a cup of coffee. Could be that I will be a little long~winded today.

I went on this mission here a little while ago after I had come in from the kennels.
Every now and then, looking around, SOMETHING will strike my fancy; and usually it is NOT my dust either.
hehehe... (I very much prefer it that way too)!
There is something almost poetic about being blind to the dustballs and furballs that lay around. (Well, until I trip over one anyway)! hehehe

Not having the slightest idea what to do about this blog, I have decided to begin by catching you all up on our 'yesterday'.

.

First to get dressed and get outside to plow the ever present, (and continually falling), snow that we have had of late.

.

Some damn fool had left the Cub Cadet OUTside!
Who could/would do such a thing?
What the 'hey' !?!?!

.

Now you cannot see it in the picture, but that left front tire was half flat.
(As mama would have said, "It's no big deal, it is ONLY flat 'uponst' the bottom").

And she would have laughed at me trying to figure out what the heck was wrong with the danged tractor too because it wouldn't really go, or push anything...
Just as soon as I backed up a bit I saw it though.
Get the bicycle pump.
And the nozzle attached to the valve core "thingie" promptly broke off and let all the remaining air out of that tire!
(Kinda knocked the air out of my sails too)...
Time to get the little compressor.
Blow up the tire.
Pray that there is not a nail in the dang thing...

And I was off.

Slowly at first, 'til I'd made the first few swipes, then turn the blade so it scrapes to the outside of the driveways.
I had almost finished up one driveway, and had taken a circle through the yard to "have at" the other driveway. Getting to the road with that, there is a car in the ditch, across the road.
Bound to happen sooner or later. I walked out there, hoping that no one was hurt.
(I really do hate blood and guts).
With the exception of a blood vessel in her eye the young gal was not hurt, and she had already called her mom. They would call Triple A, and meet her here.

Almost everybody that drove by stopped to see if we needed help, or if anyone was hurt.
~~~Scratch that last remark; EVERYONE that drove by stopped.
And the young lady had NO coat either.
I did leave her out there.
She wanted to wait for her parents anyway; and said "it's not that cold."
And I was thinking that the few minutes it might take her mom to get there wouldn't hurt her any. (But it might have taught her to at least put a coat, some mittens and a pair of boots in the car)... hehehe
The Sheriffs Dept was the first to arrive. He brought the girl inside his car while I cleaned the ends of the driveway. Then I told him to get his car in the driveway anyway.
No use in them getting hit out there. (There is a blind hill one way, and a curve to the east; and what you cannot see in the photo is the ice that was on the road, uncovered by the county snowplow)... The county had salted the hill, (in one direction), about 30 minutes before this happened- Just enough time for that melted snow/ice to have frozen over again.
A few minutes later her parents got there. (Papa did a bit of hollering too; not about the car, but about her inappropriate winter attire)! hehehe
Jerry got there. (Jerry Kapla owns the Suamico Garage AND the tow truck). A very nice man too, and I am sure he got NO sleep the night before either. $nowstorm$ are alway$ highly profitable for the tow truck owner$.
.
The deputy had to pull back out of the yard to warn/direct traffic.
"Dad" is in the car, while Jerry winches him out of the ditch.
.
.
And that was the end of our excitement yesterday morning.
MORE excitement yesterday afternoon when New York squeaked an upset in Dallas!
So now The Giants get to come to Green Bay!
Trust me on this now...
...
Saturdays last game in the snow will be nothing, compared to how these boys will be playing next Sunday.
The highs for next Sunday will be lucky to make it into the single digits above zero.
The windchill will be at least in the negative teens BELOW zero.
That is, if the 7~day forecast holds true. And I know that they have a tendency to change forecasts from time to time. (Just not by that much)...
And yes, as always in Green Bay it will be a sell~out crowd come hell or high water, (or frigid and freezing temps)!
Time to get out the winter long~johns! hehehe
_____
And on now, to address # 500.
I was out with Miss Milly earlier, 1-ish or so, (and yes I have to plow the yard out again). But as I came back in to "assume the position" in front of my monitor, one little thing caught my attention...
.
.
Cnv1575
It is a flower that my little Miss Valerie had made for me in school!
And with that came a thought to snap a few pictures for you!
(I mean, now that you already know what my OUTside looks like).
.
Just pardon my dang dust please...
And yes, I know that there are books everywhere!
hehehe
(I believe I got that passion from my mother)...
.
In my living room, a half~dead plant!
Hmmm... Does anyone else see the irony in that sentence?
.
Cnv1578............Cnv1583
~Along with a silver teapot that also needs my attention!
(And obviously more books too)!
.
There are a few chairs, leftover from Christmas,
that need (still) to be brought back out to the shed.
.
Cnv1581..........Cnv1582
My sewing machine, (and the fish),
that also need that attention...
.
.
Cnv1579........Cnv1580
I am surrounded by many pictures of family and friends!
(Pictures, hanging on the walls, that sorely need a coat of paint)!
.
.
On to the kitchen...
.
Cnv1590........Cnv1585
An old church cookbook lays out,
while the top of the fridge holds stuff that doesn't fit in the cupboards.
Wait, it probably does fit... If only I would arrange those cupboards!
.
.
And on upstairs...
.
If anybody can find the original of this picture, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
Not a horse, it is a Unicorn. With no signature.
Torn out of a ragmag some 25 years (or so) ago...
.
And a few other pictures taken in my room...
.
Cnv1593.........Cnv1589
A parrot Dad had gotten while in the Navy;
And of course, MORE
books on my headboard!!!
hehehe
.
.Cnv1599..........Cnv1591
My old guitar in one corner...
And the ever~present incense burner in another.
My favorite smells for the burner? Patchouli. Musk. Opium.
Probably a carryover from those wild 70's...
.
.
Peeking into my closet...
.
Cnv1595.....Cnv1594
Faded photographs,
(covered now with line and creases)
And my four high school yearbooks, (all signed too) hehehe
.
.
And I believe that's enough for 500!
Roberta has a dentist appointment this morning.
Casey is already in town to take her there; and to watch Master Gabriel while his mama gets an estimate for her dental work. (Brave, brave girls that I have)!
Time for me to go clean the yard... (and maybe when that is done I can come in and answer your questions)! hehehe
Yup.
It's "Open~Season"
Go ahead.
Hit me with your best shot!
(I double~dog~dare ya)!
Have a grand, brand~new week!
XOXO
Anne
More Snow!
We have MORE snow!
(That's just for those of you who might not have watched the game)!
hehehe
Good Morning Everyone!
And what a good morning it is; especially after that wonderful Green Bay Packers win!
...And I really was laughing out loud when Seattle scored those first two touchdowns in the first few minutes...
Today will tell us who we play next.
The game today between Dallas and New York promises to be a good one.
Hmmmmm... ~~~~Who to root for???~~~~
Other then that spectacular game, there was not much to do yesterday- A bit of running around on the computer though. And oh, that nice nap after the game.
As many of you already know, we got a bunch of snow yesterday- More to come today and tomorrow so will keep this short today.
.
.
.
.
I do have to get outside and move what snow we did get; just so I can go do it all over again tomorrow!
hehehe
Such is life in Flintville, Wisconsin today.
Hope your Sunday is perfect!
Next stop: #500...
XOXO
Anne
PS A special Thank You to Sweet Pea. >CLICK HERE< for her blog.
Kinda sassy, (not to mention 'gutsy'), calling during a Green Bay game; but I think she is just feeling ever so poorly that she is missing out on all the snow here.
Poor Girl.
Punk yesterday.
Just as the sun was breaking...
.
Good Morning Everyone!
Yes, my previous blog is still open for your ideas, (and of course for a whole lot of fun too)! hehehe
As I mentioned in my comments back at you, I am leaning toward Ask~Anna~(almost)~Anything!
So go dust off your thinking caps!
Got my backside outside early yesterday to get the upper hand on the snow. Not too much, maybe only 3 or 4 inches. Just enough to mess up the yard, and the roads. I saw only one lone snowplow go through while I was out there, heading toward Suamico. Traffic was barely crawling along either way; and I noticed that the more daylight there is, the more bold they all become. Idiots.
It began to snow HUGE flakes!
.
.
Note the shadow caused by that one snowflake on Punks side!
.
.
Mama Milly was more than content to crawl back into the relative warmth of her insulated, cedar~lined doghouse. But Punk had to go "in search of"... Not too sure what she would find, but not for lack of trying either.
.
.
She believes those gophers might be back?
.
.
And always hears the camera, even though I have silenced it!
.
.
Everything seemed to be part of this Winter~Wonderland too. Hardly any wind, and everything just so very decorated...
.
.
Cnv1565........Cnv1566
From the old shed........... To the Willow Tree!
(The shed roof even looks good with the snow on it)!
.
.
Cnv1567.........Cnv1555
From DeeAnne's Thistle....To the Weigelia, sp, (never mind), "BUSH"
.
.
And it was high time to get the Cub Cadet out, and make the yard a bit safer!
.
And it had no problem firing right up and moving all the snow either!
.
.
I had to laugh though as I finished off the end of the main driveway. .
.
My fire number was completely covered too!
.
.
And "someone" had put a brand new tree in the front yard!
.
.
We should have left the bulbs on it too, don't you think!
.
.
Judging by the paw prints from the rabbits feet, they'd been out playing in it too!
.
It took me about 2 hours, but I actually had fun.
('Til I got off the darned little tractor anyway).
But only my back was hurting; and yes, it will get better shortly.
My back not even being the worst of it yesterday. The damned migraine that snuck up on me was. Still, the Maxalt I took for it absolutely did its job! I took a bit of a nap, and when I woke up, it was all gone! (Oh, I do love it when it works as it should).
Besides, I was in no mood to be feeling crappy for today either...
.
Cnv1210
Not wanting to be sick for a Packer Game!
No way!
.
There was a >Packer Pep Rally< last night; and even a few Seattle fans were in attendance... And, Packers fans from as far away as Alaska too!!!
That article aptly entitled, "Bring on the Seahawks"
I came across a little page with so many links it will take me til The 4th of July to get through them all!
(Especially when one has a tendency to click on the links that they have within them too)!
>Here< is that link if anyone wants to be "in the know" for todays game!
Get your Packer jerseys and sweatshirts on kids! Here we go!
Punk does hate the games... More specifically she hates the tourettes affectations that seem to present themselves as the game unfolds. But it has always been thus, so maybe I shall have to find her some doggie earplugs! hehehe
I hope you are all having a WUNNAFUL weekend!
