The North Carolina Highway Patrol says four people would have died in a car engulfed in flames, if it hadn't been for a group of quick thinking teens.

Seeing the charred remains of the Dodge Neon, it's hard to believe anyone survived.

"You heard this thing just hit the side of the ground," Jeremy Jones explained. "It was just a loud smack."

Jones, 18, says he and six friends, who are students at Southern Wayne High School, were swimming in Mill Creek off of Williford Road near the Johnston-Wayne County line when they heard a crash.

"We heard tires squealing and then all of a sudden we heard a big boom, and we all got out of the water and we ran up -- bathing suits, no shoes, no shirt -- ran up," Jones said. "And we run past the car because we couldn't see it because it was actually wrapped in vine in the trees."

Hearing screams for help, they yanked poison ivy vines off the car. Troopers say the car crashed into a tree going 70 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone.

"We pulled this first guy out, and he's all bloodied up and his girlfriend comes out and then another girl comes out," Jones added. "And then they said there was another guy, but he wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

He was underneath the car that rolled up underneath the tree and there was a dead log on top of him."

Accident - Williford Road, 06-08-11CR

Three of the teens lifted the car and the log off the man troopers identified as the driver, 24-year-old Matthew Williams.

"We thought he was dead," Jones said. "And he said, 'uuuuh,' and he started breathing and we toted him out to the road and the car caught on fire."

All of this happened before first responders arrived. Investigators say paramedics rushed Williams to the hospital with severe internal injuries.

The male and two female passengers were treated for minor injuries.

"I just don't want to take the glory for it, none of us do," Jones said. "God, he put us in the right place at the right time."

The Highway Patrol says speed and alcohol were factors in the crash. The driver, Williams, is listed in critical condition at Pitt Memorial Hospital and faces DWi and reckless driving charges.

"
Fake foreclosure notices panic some Detroit residents"

A conservative group is refusing to apologize for plastering Detroit homes with phony eviction notices earlier this week in a bid to get out their message of opposition to a proposed bridge project.

"It was meant to startle people," Americans for Prosperity state director Scott Hagerstrom told The Detroit Free Press."We really wanted people to take notice. This is the time that their opinions need to be heard. We wanted people to read it." One of the group's founders is billionaire Koch Industries executive vice President David Koch, and the organization has played a prominent role in organizing tea party and conservative events.

The flyers said "EVICTION NOTICE" in big block letters and then warned residents that the state of Michigan could take their homes to make way for a new proposed bridge to Canada, the New International Trade Crossing bridge.

Some residents were panicked, though it's unclear how many actually believed the flyer. "I thought they were trying to kick us all out for nothing," resident Juan Ybarra told Fox Detroit.

Republican donor Manuel (Matty) Moroun is lobbying against the proposed bridge because it would siphon traffic and tolls from his privately owned Ambassador bridge that traverses the same span between Detroit and Ottawa. Moroun would like a second bridge--but one that he would own.

Moroun's company told the Free Press that it had nothing to do with the fake eviction notices, though Americans for Prosperity's Hagerstrom would not reveal if the group has received money from the bridge company to help fund its anti-public bridge campaign.

It's true that "several" residents of Detroit would lose their homes under eminent domain if the bridge does get built, according to MLive. They would be compensated 125 percent of the homes' value. Democratic State Senator Coleman Young II told Fox Detroit that the people whose homes would be seized if the proposal passes have been told already.

Results of short term controlled trials indicate that smoked cannabis reduces neuropathic pain, improves appetite and caloric intake especially in patients with reduced muscle mass, and may relieve spasticity and pain in patients with multiple sclerosis. However, the patchwork of state-based systems that have been established for .medical marijuana. is woefully inadequate in establishing even rudimentary safeguards that normally would be applied to the appropriate clinical use of psychoactive substances. The future of cannabinoid-based medicine lies in the rapidly evolving field of botanical drug substance development, as well as the design of molecules that target various aspects of the endocannabinoid system. To the extent that rescheduling marijuana out of Schedule I will benefit this effort, such a move can be supported.

MARIJUANA SAVES LIVES

I
know a LOT of people that would definitely benefit from being able to [LEGALLY] use this drug in any of it's forms.

Stop Arresting Sick People

As it stands in too many states, caveat emptor, {aka: "let the buyer beware"} is NOT working! Sick people are being imprisoned, (and with some very HARSH sentences) for no other reason than that of being in pain, and trying to feel a little better; and NOT having insurance to afford either a doctor OR a prescription!
~~AND THEN 'WE THE PEOPLE' HAVE THE GALL TO COMPLAIN OF HOUSING THE INMATES?!?!  REALLY?
Methinks that "We the People" should be ashamed!

Legalize marijuana in all 50 states, and territories! Add a little tax, and VIOLA!, you have enough dollars coming in to save many of today's programs without abusing Medicre- or reducing it to vouchers- (so that the INSURANCE COMPANIES profit; or to Food Stamps, which are being threatened in many republican states.
And yes, there are those that are fraudulent- whether by physician or through the people themselves. These peoples represent but a fraction of THOSE WHO ARE TRULY IN NEED!!!

Again, as I had previously written on another blog, :

"
“He who trembles to hear a leaf fall should keep out of the wood.” Unknown

I am more than bored with those of you who cannot stand to have your cowardice exposed.
There have been recent posts concerning the upward blood pressure of the American voters.
The author(s) of these posts believe this anger is misplaced.
Really?  I don't think so.

"Oh please stop writing of hate", they cry, (or 'disagreements'- yada yada yada- fill in your own blank).
If you have written any of that, you may now return to your viewing of Billy Jack.
The rest of us have better things to do; and need to leave an impression upon those who are willing to learn.

Newsflash. (In any political field).
There will be disagreements. (You cannot pretty that up).
There will be anger- (Such is the nature of the human animal).
There will be heated discussions. "If it's too hot in the kitchen", (well, get out of the damn kitchen already)-

Still with me here?
I was never political, aside from voting for people I thought could best lead us. I was silent, almost like my basic politics were so very personal. That all changed when Casey got sick, and there was a possibility that she would have to live out her life without basic medical treatment and/or diagnoses.

Back in 2008 there were noted health care options that came from our presidential hopefuls.
One actually had a plan that offered hope for all Americans, sick or healthy.  (The other thought that transplants and facelifts warranted the same level of insurance and medical care).  That was enough to get me to vote for # 1.

From the 'TNJ' group one wise person observed, "People like to believe in nonsense. It is far easier than thinking."

From your algebra classes- or your other advanced mathematical or political classes remember this: "There is no such thing as unsustainable debt.
We cannot pass debt to our children."
That is not to say we spend frivolously or unwisely.
That is not to say that adage is correct as it reads, "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer."

"What is dangerous about extremists is not that they are extreme, but that they are intolerant. The evil is not what they say about their cause, but what they say about their opponents."  Robert F. Kennedy

Sadly, Bobby Kennedy could not have even guessed that this level of intolerance would be rampant among Americans of all races, creeds, or even sexual preferences.
Bobby Kennedy could not have known what a Freeper is.
He would not have known the term 'Astroturf" save for what was fake grass in the 60's.
He would not have known Tenthers, 14th Repealers, Birthers, Gay bashing, and other not~so~subtle attempts at what essentially is ethnic cleansing.
He may or may not have seen the level of filibusters that take up time, only hurt people and destroy credibility.

Also from the mid 60's came this powerful quote. “Racism negates two aspects of man’s life: reason and choice, or mind and morality, replacing them with chemical predestination. ... A genius is a genius, regardless of the number of morons who belong to the same race -- and a moron is a moron, regardless of the number of geniuses who share his racial origin.” -- Ayn Rand

On Lies:  “Lies are a tool: they can be used either for good or--no, wait, I've got a better one. Lies are like children: hard work, but they're worth it because the future depends on them." Dr. Gregory House

On Ignorance: “The wise understand by themselves; fools follow the reports of others”  Tibetan Proverb

And the winner is: "I don't want facts because my mind is made already made up!"

Where are you finding yourself on those quotes?
Where are you now?
And why not say so?
"

We need to have this on the vote in those states that do not already have it legalized.
And we need to truly and truthfully EDUCATE OUR PUBLIC.
To that end, please feel free to link this page, or to email this to everyone you
know
.
Just as important, please write to your legislators!  (

I Don't Know HOW She Did It!

Good Evening All;
As you all know, I have been unable to even wage war on my house, due to my darn back.
Read on. You won't believe what a week I had!!!!   hehehe

Love to all,

XOXO
Me

Dear Polly;
I slept until about an hour and a half ago. I imagine you tried to email me. Suffice to say that Yahoo did the same thing to me today that they did yesterday. Fortunately I was able to still get hold of someone in charge of this mix~up.
(And oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, the gal today didn't even hang up on me)...
Unfortunately, if you tried to email me in the meantime, I didn't get it. I hope you are settled safely in for the evening...

I miss you already.
Though you might not agree, I LOVED having you here.
I am almost sure there were a few times that you wanted to pack up your truck and leave. (I could not have blamed you either).

Never in my life had I expected (from one person), all the work you did for me! The fact that you drove so many miles to help me out astounds me still.
*** Still not sure how you "found" my floors, as I slept through your sweating that one out.
(My apologies for that).
Zzzzzzzzzzz......

AND, you cooked for me too!  Not to dismiss your note here, but I can't wait for me to be done typing so I can go eat up the rest of last nights dinner. IT WAS SOOOO GOOD!!! (Idiot that I am, I neglected to even ask for your recipe).
I may even throw a pinch of salt on it.  Oooooh, just dare me! hehehe And yes, I do know how very hard it is to cook for someone who eats a salt-free diet, even if it is by choice- and not by doctors orders.

Back when Randy had his stroke it is something that I needed to adjust to immediately, and it wasn't easy. After having him recuperate here, taught me that I could live without any (added) salt; and that was good enough for me. I suppose there comes a time in everyone's life- (if we live long enough) that our doctors will tell us to cut back on our salt intake. I've just got them beat is all.

As you know, next week will be the week from hell for me- with all those darned doctor/hospital appointments- (It's a good thing that you didn't come then). Hopefully I will get at least ONE answer that I need, to be even a bit better.
Methinks I need a hammock in my car so it doesn't hurt so much to go somewhere...
Those doctors (some of them that don't know me anyway), look at me quite queer when I say that I will never have another test if I have to lie on my back. It simply is NOT going to happen- Not without my brace, (and not with me present either). hehehe

I was happy too that Casey got to come out today- and to see you off. I hope that you haven't hit any nasty weather. Sure has been a bad year for those storms popping up out of the nowhere. (Like this morning).
The weatherman said we may have some more of those in the overnight hours. There is a tornado watch, (I think until midnight)...
I hate storms at night- I am a big baby ya know.
(Of course you do).

I owe you a debt I can never repay, save for with my heart. I can not only see my floors, I can see my countertops shining in the kitchen- And then, after my nap, as I rounded the corner, even the bathroom is all shiny and brand new.

I promise to try to keep it all as it is. I have also spoken to both Punk and Sput and told them each "No more shedding, inside."

I promise too, to get used to my new wheelchair, and to get outside with it also.

Sweet Polly, again I thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you did.
And again, and again, and again...
I just don't know how else to say it, save for thank you... and with all my love.

XOXO,
Me

PS
Punk has now gone upstairs, twice since I woke- Looking for you I'd imagine, because she doesn't ever do that just for fun...

OK- Time now for your leftover Elk!  YAY and YUM!
YUMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Putting up with the pain.

Chronic pancreatitis: Daily pain, costly cure

By Jon Bruce
jbruce@abcnews4.com

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) –- Doctors describe the disease as someone jamming a knife into your stomach and twisting – pain which can last for days or weeks at a time.

The last seven years of Rita Graziano's life have been a struggle.

"It's like you are getting electrocuted," she said. "It's usually pain on a daily basis. It's a raw kind of burring pain."

Graziano was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis in 2004.

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is one of only three hospitals in the country offering a radical procedure to ease the pain of chronic pancreatitis. But, that cure comes with a significant cost, one Granziano, who has been on disability because of the pain, simply cant afford.

She said her experience has been a nightmare, one that only got worse when doctors she went to for help in her native New York, wouldn't listen.

"With pancreatitis people often get stigmatized," she said. "Especially if you are young, often times it's like you are seeking pain medication."

After months of searching for a doctor who would help her, Graziano finally landed at MUSC - in the care of Dr. David Adams, a leader in gastrointestinal surgery for over 20 years.

"The procedures I do involve bypassing the pancreas or taking out the damaged tissue," Dr. Adams said.

After several examinations and treatments, Dr. Adams recommended a relatively new but proven procedure called islet isolation.

"We take the cells that make insulin and isolate them in a laboratory situation and then inject them back into the patient's own liver," Dr. Adams said.

Those cells then live inside the liver and produce insulin with out the need for a pancreas.

Sara Gibbins recently had the procedure and says the surgery stopped the pain and is allowing her to live a normal life.

"I feel so much better than I ever thought I would feel," Gibbins said during a taped interview with MUSC. "Coming out of the surgery was like wow."

The procedure has caused some patients, like Gibbins to develop manageable diabetes. But, Graziano says it's time to take back control of her life and worth the risk.

"Only about 25 percent of people with chronic pancreatitis will live another five years from when they are diagnosed," she said. "I just don't know how much longer I have as far as my quantity but my quality is not great and I just thought about it and did some research and came to Dr. Adams and something had to be done."

But with a price tag of $21,000 for the procedure, Graziano is praying on for the kindness of others. She is praying for a miracle.

"I am really hoping this can change my life and maybe help save my life as well," she said.

This is the same disease that Casey had.
Casey's TP/AIT (just the 1st surgery), was over a quarter of million dollars! Methinks the above $21,000 grand is missing at least one zero.

We would have lost Casey by now, given the fact that her pancreatic enzymes were digesting ALL of her insides...

Did anyone else happen to catch this on the news? It was on ABC...

Germany decides to abandon nuclear power by 2022 - Yahoo! News

http://beta.news.yahoo.com/germany-decides-abandon-nuclear-power-2022-070631980.html

Hats off, Berlin.

Great Quote from the article:
"The cold hard reality is that no matter how much we all beat our chests about how great America is...we live in a pretty backward thinking country. Beyond the fact that we're #32 on the global IQ scale, we reward greed and penalize those who just want a decent life. I mean, you can make ends meet...if you're willing to work 60 hours a week. The kids can just entertain themselves until you get home."

Germany decides to abandon nuclear power by 2022

BERLIN (AP) — Europe's economic powerhouse, Germany, announced plans Monday to abandon nuclear energy over the next 11 years, outlining an ambitious strategy in the wake of Japan's Fukushima disaster to replace atomic power with renewable energy sources.

Chancellor Angela Merkel said she hopes the transformation to more solar, wind and hydroelectric power serves as a roadmap for other countries.

"We believe that we can show those countries who decide to abandon nuclear power — or not to start using it — how it is possible to achieve growth, creating jobs and economic prosperity while shifting the energy supply toward renewable energies," Merkel said.

Merkel's government said it will shut down all 17 nuclear power plants in Germany — the world's fourth-largest economy and Europe's biggest — by 2022. The government had no immediate estimate of the transition's overall cost.

The plan sets Germany apart from most of the other major industrialized nations. Among the other Group of Eight countries, only Italy has abandoned nuclear power, which was voted down in a referendum after the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.

The decision represents a remarkable about-face for Merkel's center-right government, which only late last year pushed through a plan to extend the life span of the country's reactors, with the last scheduled to go offline around 2036. But Merkel, who holds a Ph.D. in physics, said industrialized, technologically advanced Japan's "helplessness" in the face of the Fukushima disaster made her rethink the technology's risks.

Phasing out nuclear power within a decade will be a challenge, but it will be feasible and ultimately give Germany a competitive advantage in the renewable energy era, Merkel said.

"As the first big industrialized nation, we can achieve such a transformation toward efficient and renewable energies, with all the opportunities that brings for exports, developing new technologies and jobs," Merkel told reporters.

The government said the renewable energy sector already employs about 370,000 people.

Germany's seven oldest reactors, already taken off the grid pending safety inspections following the March catastrophe at Japan's Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant, will remain offline permanently, Merkel said. The plants accounted for about 40 percent of the country's nuclear power capacity.

At the time of the Japanese disaster, Germany got just under a quarter of its electricity from nuclear power, about the same share as in the U.S.

While Germany already was set to abandon nuclear energy eventually, the decision — which still requires parliamentary approval — dramatically speeds up that process. Environment Minister Norbert Roettgen said there are no provisions that would allow a later policy reverse.

"We don't only want to renounce nuclear energy by 2022, we also want to reduce our CO2 emissions by 40 percent and double our share of renewable energies, from about 17 percent today to then 35 percent," the chancellor said.

Merkel said the cornerstones of Germany's energy policy will also include a safe and steady power supply that doesn't rely on imports, and affordable prices for industry and consumers. The plan calls for more investment in natural gas plants as a backup to prevent blackouts, the chancellor said.

Germany's initiative received a skeptical reception abroad.

French Prime Minister Francois Fillon, whose country relies on nuclear power to produce 80 percent of its electricity supply, insisted "there's no way" for the European Union to meet its emission-cutting targets without at least some nuclear power.

"We respect this decision, but it doesn't cause us to change our policy," Fillon said. France operates more than one-third of the nuclear reactors in the EU.

Sweden's Environment Minister Andreas Carlgren also criticized the German decision, telling The Associated Press that the focus on an end date was unfortunate and could drive up electricity prices across Europe.

Germany, usually a net energy exporter, has at times had to import energy since March, with the seven old reactors shut and others temporarily off the grid for regular maintenance. Still, the agency overseeing its electricity grid, DENA, said Friday that the country remains self-sufficient and that its renewable energy production capacity this spring peaked at 28 gigawatts — or about the equivalent of 28 nuclear reactors.

Many Germans have vehemently opposed nuclear power since Chernobyl sent radioactivity over the country. Tens of thousands of people took to the streets after Fukushima to urge the government to shut all reactors quickly.

A decade ago, a center-left government drew up a plan to abandon the technology for good by 2021 because of its risks. But Merkel's government last year amended it to extend the plants' lifetime by an average 12 years — a political liability after Fukushima was hit by Japan's March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

Environmental groups welcomed Berlin's decision.

"The country is throwing its weight behind clean renewable energy to power its manufacturing base and other countries like Britain should take note," said Robin Oakley, Greenpeace UK's campaigns director.

German industry said the government must not allow the policy changes to lead to an unstable power supply or rising electricity prices.

Hans-Peter Keitel, the president of the Federation of German Industries, urged the government not to set the exit date of 2022 in stone but to be flexible if problems arise.

Switzerland, where nuclear power produces 40 percent of electricity, also announced last week that it plans to shut down its reactors gradually once they reach their average life span of 50 years — which would mean taking the last plant off the grid in 2034.

Germany's decision broadly follows the conclusions of a government-mandated commission on the ethics of nuclear power, which on Saturday delivered recommendations on how to abolish the technology.

"Fukushima was a dramatic experience, seeing there that a high-technology nation can't cope with such a catastrophe," Matthias Kleiner, the commission's co-chairman, said Monday. "Nuclear power is a technology with too many inherent risks to inflict it on us or our children."

I think we all know how good German engineering is.
Not to mention the fact that they are being very proactive; unlike the Japanese, who now find themselves having to be reactive to protect not only themselves, but the rest of us as well.

America needs this. The world needs this.
We need to stop raping Mother Earth and start using what is given to us on a daily basis.

Wisconsin Declares War On The US

President Barack Obama was in the Oval Office when his telephone rang.
"Hello, President Obama," a heavily accented Norwegian voice said. "'Dis here is Sven, over here at the Rod and Gun Club in Iola, Wisconsin.

Ve don't like some a yer policies so I am callin' to tell ya that we are officially declaring war on ya!"

"Well, Sven," Barack replied, "This is indeed important news! How big is your army?"

"Right now," said Sven, after a moment's calculation, "there is myself, my cousin Knute, my next-door-neighbor Ole, and the whole pool team from the Rod."

Barack paused, "I must tell you Sven that I have one million men in my army waiting to move on my command."

"Wow," said Sven, "I'll haf ta call ya back!"

Sure enough, the next day, Sven called again. "Mr. Obama, da war is still on! We have managed to acquire some infantry equipment!"

"And what equipment would that be, Sven?" Barack asked.

"Vell sir, ve got two combines, a bulldozer, and Sigurd's farm tractor."

President Obama sighed. "I must tell you Sven, that I have 16,000 tanks and 14,000 armored personnel carriers. Also I've increased my army to one and a half million since we last spoke."

"All right den, said Sven. "I'll be getting back to ya."

Sure enough, Sven rang again the next day... "President Obama, da war is still on! We have managed to git ourselves airborne!

We up an' modified Ole's ultra-light vit a couple'a shotguns in da cockpit, and four boys from the coffee shop haf joined us as vell!"

Barack was silent for a minute then cleared his throat.
"I must tell you, Sven, that I have 10,000 bombers and 20,000 fighter planes.
My military complex is surrounded by laser-guided, surface-to-air missile sites.
And since we last spoke, I've increased my army to TWO MILLION!"

"Two million you say?," said Sven, "l'll haf' to call you back."

Sure enough, Sven called again the next day. "President Obama! I am sorry to have to tell you that we have had to call off this here war."

"I'm sorry to hear that," said Barack.
"Why the sudden change of heart?"

Vell, sir," said Sven, "we've all sat ourselves down and had a long chat over a few beers, and come to realize that there's yust no vay ve can feed two million prisoners."

WISCONSIN CONFIDENCE CANNOT BE SHAKEN!
If you're from Wisconsin, you won't even need to be told to pass this on.

Once Upon a Time

Punk. Trying to eat my lilacs...

I do not often write of God in my life...
The following is an excerpt, a very shallow and brief look- at what is inside...

" God Bless you for trying to help...

... I too, used to romanticize this all.
Oooh, the "FAMILYs" that stay together through thick or thin, hell or high water, etc etc etc. Though I remain a hopeless romantic, I do know that many many things are out of my hands.

I was raised to believe in God.

Once upon a time, I married for LIFE... And until my own life and was threatened; (or more succinctly and accurately put, until the spirits of my own children were threatened).

Should I have done anything differently?
Nope.
Not after being beaten. Not after having a shotgun in my face (in front of a 3 yr old, a 2 yr old and a 1 month old), because I was 15 minutes late coming home from work.
They were babies, MY BABIES, and I would not raise them to think that was/IS an acceptable "family" in any way shape or form.

As their mother, there were many things I could do to raise them up right. And with every prenatal kick, I had made that solemn promise.
And those things that ARE within in my power to do?, I asked myself that very night. Not oly for my children. They are things, that to this day I will do for anyone; and not only for those that are 'supposed to' love me (and vice~versa).

So many times I have prayed if only to ask God to help me out.
And I have gotten so many answers, positive lights, and points... Things that would happen that I could *see* as answers, (because I knew within myself that I would never come up with many of those thoughts that 'came' to me)...

Still, at NO point in time did I ever receive any 'signs' for me to change; or altar the courage of my own convictions- To change my journey would be to change others' as well. That would be a sin in my heart to even think of having the power to do.
And so I have not.
Just because, in my book, right is right is right is right.
And there are but only a very FEW grey areas to "RIGHT"...

Does that make me unforgiving?  Perhaps it does.  Still, I have said in some of my many previous blogs, I am NOT God... It is HIS place to forgive and forgive and forgive.
It is not mine. (Yes, I was wrong in thinking that I should have to do that time after time after time).
As I am absolutely a mere human being, there is ALWAYS that last straw for me.

But back to the derailment...
As you age, and as you grow, I am sure you will hear many stories about all of this "trainwreck"-

I only ask that you ask yourself only TWO questions when you hear 'conflicting' stories of any sort that have to do with me, my credibility, and/or my honor.

Those questions should be...

1. "Has (Grandma) Anne EVER lied to me?"

 - - and   - -

2. "Have I ever even KNOWN (Grandma) Anne to speak an UNtruth to ANYONE?"

As long as you know THOSE answers, (and you do already), I promise you will then know in your heart which is truth.

Am I perfect???  HELL NO. (Nor have I ever claimed to be either).
But I AM highly intelligent.  (I just honestly do not know if that is a blessing or a curse).

My own mother used to say, "I don't want to be perfect either!"   She had a grand sense of both human nature, AND the world, within herself.

There is no such thing as 'bad blood' Sweetie... But there are hurt feelings and wounds that have no way to heal without some kind of magic.

And so, as I have always told others, it is time for me to "Let Go; and Let God"
It is exactly what I am doing, and what I will continue to do.
And in the whole scheme of things, it is exactly what I SHOULD be doing.
"

----------------

The picture?
Taken yesterday by CaseyAnne.

The words?
I wrote them long ago- in reply to having been asked about the 'rest' of my babies.
  1. Zoe is 34 this year.
  2. Jennifer is 33.
  3. Roberta is 31.

Our "train-wreck" has never been 'righted'-  I have learned that I cannot do so of my own accord.

And so, in honor of the month of Mothers Day, I wish them -each- all happiness, love, and peace, in their lives; that I have been unable to find more of in my own.
And I can only hope that they can teach their children better than I did my very own.

After all, that is our only job as parents.

XOXO
Me

"To believe in a child is to believe in the future. Through their aspirations they will save the world. With their combined knowledge the turbulent seas of hate and injustice will be calmed. They will champion the causes of life's underdogs, forging a society without class discrimination. They will supply humanity with music and beauty as it has never known. They will endure."
Henry James (1843-1916)

Flintville Ketchup

It's a pity-pot thing...

Good Evening;

I am tired- so tired- but sleep won't come easy...
Behind on my pills - And when I do take them I will sleep for a few hours, waken- and another day begins. Maybe I slept too much today.
I have dreams- mostly of the variety that make little sense- but always of people I know (though they look real different too).
Very very weird- as I try to analyze them even a little...

I've had a raunchy week. (Shall I add "thus far")?    Doubtful.    I get to the point where I cannot 'do' anything-
My laundry sits in the clothes chute, begging for cleaning.
As do my dishes.

As I do also.
Sitting in the shower upon a hard plastic chair just doesn't do it for me...
So, after a very thorough Polish bath, I had an appointment yesterday at the pain clinic. Nothing more they can do for me, so they are having us go in to talk to a psychiatrist.
No. Wait. He isn't a psychiatrist. He cannot prescribe pills- Anyway, he is some kind of 'ist' that has to tell us what the Intrathecal Drug delivery system, (otherwise known as an implanted pain pump), will do for me; and how to care for me afterward etc etc etc...
This all, since the meds- and how many so far- leave me a far cry from having a life of my own. I don't even know what *that* is anymore.
Sitting in a fooking wheelchair even for more than a month or three is no way to go through life; not by my standards anyway.
The beauty outside- of life renewing itself in the Spring leaves me inside, looking outward; and waiting.
WAITING FOR WHAT?!?  I would imagine that 'death' would be the answer to that.
Casey didn't show up for our appointment yesterday. Greg is sick, and I suppose she wanted to stay pretty close to him.
But it's OK she didn't show.
The guy just moved on to my testing phase- It was a "fill in the dot" thing that was just about 1000 questions, give or take.

Did they even have a table for me to write on?
No.
So I drove across town, (me and my Punkster)- just to go sit in someone elses wheelchair for 4 hours, in the waiting room, and coloring in little dots all afternoon.
But I do wonder how I did- (say, compared to Stephen Hawkings, or Einstein)? hehehe
I will find out in a few weeks how it went.

My next door neighbors came and cut the lawn, but just around the house and shed - I am very thankful that got done none the less. It looked real nice (until the dandelions decided to pop up through the mown lawns).
Very very thoughtful of them to even have done that. I tried to pay her, but she would not take money. In the end, she settled for using the gasoline in my little red cans up when they come through here to do it.

Sorry that I have no better news. My TV is even dead. Lucky me.
It was old so it is time for a new one- Will go price them one of these days when I feel like it.
I do truly miss the chatter in the background though.

Hope all is well with everyone.
My love to all.

Getting tuned up for Memorial Day-

...   from my email. Thank you Ms. Bif!

The Marine Corps Sergeant - as Teacher

A former Sergeant, having served his time with the Marine Corps, took a new job as a school teacher, but just before the school year started he injured his
back.

He was required to wear a plaster cast around the upper part of his body. Fortunately, the cast fit under his shirt and wasn't noticeable.
On the first day of class, he found himself assigned to the toughest students in the school.

The smart-aleck punks, having already heard the new teacher was a former Marine, were leery of him and decided to see how tough he really was, before trying any pranks.
Walking confidently into the rowdy classroom, the new teacher opened the window wide and sat down at his desk.

When a strong breeze made his tie flap, he picked up a stapler and promptly stapled the tie to his chest.

Dead silence...
... He had no trouble with discipline the whole year.

Polly- for some reason I cannot send email out...

...So i figured you'd be able to get it this way anyway.
(Where there's a will, there's a way; as they say)...

Methinks maybe Wednesday would be better for you to come up?
I haven't even been able to move these past few days, and have already taken the pills allotted to me for today. Was going to lie down but remembered that I never emailed you back. My apologies.

I have a dr. appointment tomorrow at 1:15 or 1:45- Can't remember so will try to drive in for 1:15.  I can always drive into Green Bay and call a taxi from there if it hurts too much to drive.

If I hear nothing further then about the back surgery- ie the pain stuff, then I honestly do not know what I will do.

Casey says Greg might have a hernia- so she will be tracking down a doctor for him tomorrow. She had to pick him up at work today...

They (my pain doctors) wanted her there with me so she would know what I would need as far as any recovery thing would go etc.
I will just write it all down and take care of me. I always have anyway, so this is nothing new.

My apologies for being so bitchy lately. But i simply cannot stand this fucking pain- not anymore.

XOXO

Pain and else.

Peek-A-Punk!

Hi All;
I wrote this more than a few days ago;- just wanting to {somehow}keep in touch and all.

Same old same old going on up here- I am getting more and more depressed- and finding pain that I didn't  know I even had possessed- from way deep within.
...and just when you think things can't get any worse... yeah right.
That I can't stand me 1/2 the time is putting it mildly-  Way mild-
Still, from the bottom of my heart I do hope all is well with everyone else.

Good Morning All.
Sweet Polly- I got your note a few days back, and have been pretty awful these days - - -
I hope you are hanging in there. I will try to call you at some point
Mr. Lester, I saw your note on my top page- Hope you don't mind me giggling at your temps too.

I am sure everyone will *not* be surprised when I say my computer is out of whack, (What is whack?
It  has taken me an hour to even get to this page--- If anyone has sent me anything I will be back this afternoon... So if anyone left anything I hope to be able to reply better by then.
Have 2 appointments today- one is at 9:30, the next at 2:30 I recall.
Will have to come home (if I make it that long hehehe), and wrestle with this machine later.
More and more (and then even rain) more rain and thunderboomers too. (Me no likey)

I have been having one heck of a time just to sit- let alone type with these damned fingers of mine- Wonder how long it will take me to take a fooking shower? Hmmm...
That said I had best get in there and find out!

My love to all;

XOXO
