Walker- Our Dictator- Forming Martial Law

As you probably already know, I have been reading and reading about our beautiful state being turned into something straight out of the cold war.
Take heed Illinois and Ohio- you are next.

One of my hopes is that the teachers I know and respect will be able to know that I am behind them 100%

I have compiled a list of items pertinent to this all.
I can only hope that you will bear with me as you get through it all too.

 

• Here's where the story stands now.

 

So far the unions have agreed to all the financial concessions in Walker's bill.      (Go figure)... 

• The remaining fight is over the rights of workers to negotiate with their employer. That's it. It has nothing to do with money and everything to do with breaking the union.

Despite those concessions Walker refuses to negotiate with anyone, even moderate Republicans. And Walker refuses to answer why he's seeking to end collective bargaining rights if this is solely a matter of balancing the state's budget.

The fight for 2012 is underway. The first battle is in Wisconsin.

What the hell is wrong with people that actually stand behind our power hungry governor?

IMHO, Walker is a bumbling, ignorant boob. (And Wisconsin needs a mastectomy).

Let us not forget that Wisconsin had a budget surplus going into this year--until Walker gave $140 million to big business.

Walker has done everything in his power to make it easier for the Kochs to rape Wisconsin's natural resources and pillage its workforce. A Koch company just laid off 158 workers in Green Bay despite the fact that demand was steady and the Kochs themselves took home 11 billion dollars.

Remember too that WALKER DROPPED OUT OF COLLEGE BECAUSE HE HAD 2.3 GPA.
I have 4 daughters that are brighter than that; (heck, I have grandbabies that are {brighter} than that)!
It doesn't take a genius to figure out why Walker is out to get the teachers- they always flunked him.  hehehe

Green Bay, WI rose from relative obscurity from the paper mills and their other factories. Without these unions GB would have gone the way of "the poor leading the poor" long, long, ago...

I have a VERY good friend, 52, that chose to retire as a guard from GBCI, (read 'prison') on Friday last- And after 25 years; rather than lose the retirement she worked for her whole life.
I have known her well for 40 years.

Another very good friend is a teacher...  Go figure.

i am proud beyond words of my democratic senators in Madison. (Or where ever they are today)-
I am also very proud of my sister Kris who drove all the way to our capital to have her own voice heard.

IMHO, whomever backs this idiot Governor is beyond psychiatric help

The only bit of union support for Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker is evaporating as the executive board president of the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Association expressed regret for their earlier endorsement of Walker. The union went one step further and even apologized for it..

 

By in large the budget bill contains a significant carve out for local police officers, firefighter and the Wisconsin State Patrol--groups that supported Walker in his election bid.  

Critics have called the carve out political payback and a key step in trying to pit government workers against each other.

 

<span>Meanwhile members of the police and firefighters unions member marched Sunday in a sixth day of protest and in support of those unions whose benefits and rights are in the cross-hairs.</span>

 

And the Madison Chamber of Commerce is losing patience with Walker as well, suggesting his remaining supporters come from outside of Wisconsin, such as the powerful Koch brothers, Walker's second largest campaign contributor.

I don't belong to a union, and I never have.  And while my husband is a public worker, he's never belonged to a union, either.  I suppose the closest we've come to having any family who is unionized are those in my family who are teachers and police officers.

But regardless of union affiliation, every single American worker should be concerned about what's going on in Wisconsin right now.  Why?  Because the unions are the only thing left standing between your rights and your employer.

This is not random.  It's not sudden.  It's not coincidence.  It's strategic.

Robert Creamer: Wisconsin Governor’s Attack on Labor May Backfire on Radical Right

 Saul Alinsky used to say, "you can always count on your enemies." That may turn out to be true in the case of the Wisconsin Governor's attack on the right of state workers to choose a union.

Scott Walker's plan was a blitzkrieg attack that would catch the opposition with its defenses down, like Germany's attack on Russia at the beginning of World War II. His goal was to emasculate the ability of public service employees to negotiate with the state over their salaries and working conditions, and begin the destruction of the unions that represent public sector workers all over America.

 Wisconsin was to be the first state to fall. Then other states with radical right Governors - like Ohio and Indiana - would follow suit.

 Well, the first casualty of war is the plan. Turns out that - at least for now - Walker's expectation of a lightning-fast victory has been thwarted by a determined Democratic Senate caucus that left the state and denied the Senate a quorum. But just as importantly, the right's entire nationwide plan has been put in jeopardy by the fact that when the alarm sounded, everyday citizens throughout Wisconsin and around the nation, answered the call.

Better grab a cup of coffee- I have gotten a bit longwinded...

Hi All! 
It has, once again, been way too long since I have written a real blog. And if it weren't for my camera, I would probably forget half this stuff.

1.
Know that after 14/16 injections to my back in the past few weeks, I have been unable to sit long enough to blog. In the event that I can sit, it is hard to type as I have my weight braced on my forearms.
But today I even sewed a little (sometimes a different chair, and sometimes I just roll my office chair around). hehehe

So... on to my "ketchup-ing".  Forgive me if I get a bit sloppy at times. hehehe


2.
Casey had an emergency dentist appointment last Wednesday.
Calling on Tuesday, in the late afternoon, Oneida got her in at 7AM on Weds.
(She has 4 teeth in the back that need to be removed).
That day, they decided to remove only the 2 that were driving her past distraction.  -And by 'past distraction' I mean that they were throbbing, intensely, even above and beyond the painkillers she is on for her tummy!

Her dentist at Oneida wanted nothing to do with extracting these 2 lower teeth given that he knows everything she has gone through for the past 6 years.
hehehe
He referred her to an oral surgeon.

And that, my friends, was when all the silly stuff began to happen...

As you know, Casey is fortunate enough to live on the reservation, so all of her referrals are covered.
But, in order to have her referred to an oral surgeon, they had to verify her address since it hadn't been updated since December '10 ?- (that made NO sense to either of us), but off we went to her apartment to get a more recent envelope that had her name and address on it... Good grief, like she'd moved since? Having had surgery again in January, I highly doubt she could have moved...

Anyway...

On the way back to the clinic with her Federal Social Security letter, Casey begins to laugh hysterically- She then grabbed the camera and began taking pictures.
Of the car in front of us.
Up til then, I'd seen nothing as I was watching the road.
hehehe

        

This car had a mirror on the passenger side that kept flopping up and down- depending upon the speed of the car- One moment it hung straight down, then with speed it would begin to look like a someone's shoe sticking out of the window...
Up and down-Up and down- Just flopping in the windchill. Casey also had taken a video- TOO funny! (My apologies that I cannot post vids on here). OH!, we were laughing so hard...

Back to the clinic and finally the referral appointment was made- for 3 that same afternoon. They further assured us that in case anything opened up sooner that she would be first to be called. (Cool).

We stopped over at Randy's after all that just to chat a bit about getting our duplex- I kind of need his help as there are a few things that I might not see as we look at them. He agreed to go with us...

He has a crab apple tree in his front yard; with a few crab apples left hanging on to feed the squirrels throughout winter.

Noisy and obnoxious- But they make a yummy meal too. Taste like chicken.

By this time, it was near to noon; and since we hadn't eaten (or shot that squirrel), a stop for some fast food was in order.  We grabbed some sandwiches in Suamico and were heading home. Casey was just counting the minutes she had left to fill her tummy, before getting those antagonizing teeth pulled.

On the way home from Suamico we saw a County deputy on the side of the road- (obviously trying to issue a few speed tickets). 
I pulled over to talk to him... I offered either of my driveways to him to park in- (The speed of the cars past my home being quite ridiculous)! 
We chatted a while longer- nice young cop. By ordinance, they are not allowed to park on private property without the owners consent. He not only has my consent, he has my blessings-
He thanked me profusely- and Casey and I were once again on our way home to eat a bite...

As we pulled into my driveway, her cell phone rang. As luck would have it, it was Dr. Zent's office, and could Casey come in ASAP to have her extractions?
I said I could be there in 20 minutes. (Only if I was speeding that is).
Casey said 'to heck with not brushing her teeth after lunch', she wanted those offending OUT. hehehe
So off we were once more.
Karma confirming that had we not stopped to chat with the cop we would have already been inside my house-
Under my tin roof Casey has very little reception and does not get (m)any of her calls or messages.
As she hung up, I immediately backed out of my driveway, turned around and took off down the road...
We were traveling a little over 50mph (in a 45mph zone)... Oops.
But hopefully no biggie either, the cops are generally pretty decent about a few MPHs over the limit...

Somewhere in Flintville a vehicle had pulled out behind me; and rode my backside- trying to get me to go faster? (That never works for me). 
Through Flintville there is a double~yellow line. He was unable to pass me. 

About half a mile onward, he decided to pass me anyway. Bad choice on his part. He gunned his engine and literally 'flew' by us. & RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE FRIENDLY DEPUTY!

Seeing those flashing lights go on, I slowed down so that our new friend could pull out in front of me. hehehe



Aw... "too bad, so sad."
And HAHAHA  too.
 
Casey and I hadn't laughed so hard since the broken mirror that morning-

On Thursday I had an appointment with my pain management doctor- This, for refills, and to check up on whether those last 2 injections had worked. They had- but only for a week or so. It had been a gentler week.
By the time I had this appointment though, my pain score was, at best, an 8.

That very night I had woken at midnight, barely able to move, even using both of my canes...
After I had gone about 25 feet on my way to the bathroom, I suddenly heard and felt that all too familiar noise and pain. Those of still another crushed vertebrae.
A very sharp painful & sickening feeling- My pain level was off the charts!
It has remained thus since.
Once more Casey has been out to take care of me, and to make sure I could get showered too. 
I have thanked God, many times, that at least I have one daughter (of 4) that gives a decent damn about their own mother.

I also thank God for Kelli!
Kelli has also been there for me- Even bringing the dogs so Punk can get outside and play a bit.



































Kelli also came today- Asking if I needed anything before the storm came? She had to go into town- and did bring me a few things-
Between herself, Casey and Greg, I should be set until we get dug out- Maybe Monday? Maybe Tuesday? We already have upwards of a foot of new snow.

I'd had Punk to the vet earlier this week because i thought she had an ear infection- It was stinky even after I had cleaned it out and used Similsan in it.
Vet says no more infection! Yay!  just to keep doing what I have been doing.

I'd taken a shower before Casey left yesterday afternoon- A friend of Greg's was in town and had wanted to have dinner with them- I'd asked Casey to turn the heat up a wee bit so I wouldn't get so chilly in the shower, like I usually do.
 ... I never heard it go on- Silly kid forgot.
I also had "silly kid" bring the socks/underwear basket from the laundry room to the living room so I could sort them all later on.

So later, while I am dry and dressed in my warm and cozy jammies, -and am sorting this basket, I realize I am half freezing to death. 
Hmm... (remember that "silly kid")? hehehe

I grab both my canes and hobble on over to check the thermostat-
Casey had turned it up to 72°- That's surely warm enough. (Silly me now). hehehe

But wait a dang minute! I am still freezing? Leaning over, I turn it up a little more.
Still, it does nothing.
Checking the temp in the house, it was barely near 60°-
Grabbing those same darn canes, I manage to get down to the basement- There is a fuse on the furnace that goes out every now and then- and I haven't had to replace that in years and years. (And damn, Isure hope I have one)!
I remove it so I can get a good look at it.
The fuse is good.

There is only one more possibility -check the oil drum.
It was so empty that I couldn't even see the float to measure it!

Knowing this snowstorm is coming, I had no choice but to get oil on a Saturday night- and to beg the furnace-man to come out, bleed the lines, and fire it up. 
Before i called him, I texted Casey at the restaurant, and heard nothing back.
I hunkered down on the couch with 2 of my quilts and fell asleep. I woke at 9:30. Dog barking... Casey and Greg are here.
In the meantime, she had called Olsons- After they ate, her and Greg had picked up 10 gallons of oil- and brought it along
They'd called Alan Olson then, and he led Greg through the whole bleed and fire thing.
Suffice to say that I was never so happy to hear that furnace kick in!
Thank you Casey, Greg, (and Alan too)! Olsons will be here tomorrow to fill my tank up.

Yet, there is a reason that this all happened too...
When Casey and Greg got here, I had so much pain that I simply could not get off the couch. Had the house burned down I would have gone with it. It was that bad- even Greg tried to help me up. Casey finally got me up. I still do not know how. I only remember the pain.

As mentioned earlier,  have not slept decent in over 2 and a half weeks.
I just cannot get comfortable enough...
However, today, I sat in the recliner and slept ALL afternoon long!
That helps- Just that I am not tired now- Oh well.

I have been up and down about 17 times since I started writing this. I actually began this yesterday morning, at 6:20 AM -Will have to copy/paste it when I am done, which won't be long now...
Not sitting, sleeping, standing (anything) for too long still is one of the downfalls of my back.
*Not that there are ANY positives that I can think of right now either)...

Waking earlier I had a message from Casey in my email.
"...This Blizzard is HORRIBLE! :(    I hope you're staying warm and dry. It's absolutely awful outside.  Greg went to Wal-mart at around 3pm. He'd been planning on stopping at KwikTrip too, but texted & said he was just going to the store because even at that time he said the roads were awful. He only got a few things and when he came back out to his car he said a layer of ice had formed on all his windows! In less than ten minutes! I am heading to bed now. I got an hour or so earlier but didn't want to sleep too late, and not sleep tonight. Seems to have worked because I'm super tired. I'll make sure Greg texts me when he gets to work tomorrow & I'll let you know that he made it. Call if you need anything. Love you MUCH MUCH!

Personally, I think he is a narrow-minded fool without a heart.

While I do not really think an untrained 'pet' should be in a public place, this guy carries any dog ban to an unacceptable level.
Even the people I know that are allergic to dogs do not feel this hateful and murderous toward a dog...
I cannot even begin to imagine what life must be like- And I don't want to know.

Now 'scuse me while I go smooch on my smelly dog so she doesn't feel the need to go hunt him down and bite his stupid and damnable ass.

Green Bay Packers- XLV World Champions!

Super SUPER Super Bowl Sunday!!!!

We had so much fun, cheering our beloved Packers on!!!!
Hollering, then the screaming silence- Over and over and over again-
Just the normal "Packers inspired Tourettes Syndrome"... I might've even cussed a bit- (Casey too)-
I wasn't able to jump up, or stomp- (but nothing wrong with the mouth end)! hehehe

I swear Punk wanted a new home- Until we made our steaks at halftime that is..

Greg is originally from Chicago- and a Bears fan- gulp- (poor guy)- It wasn't until AFTER the game that he told us he had a headache.
(My apologies Mr. Greg- I hope the ibuprofen helped)?

I was so wracked with nerves by the time the three minute mark came in the 4th quarter that I had to leave the room!
I chose to jacket-up, go outside, brave the 3' high snowdrifts and light the old burn barrel. Punk ran circles around me- and fought to get over a few of the snowbanks with her shorter legs... (shorter than mine anyway).

I watched the fire for a short short while, then came the fireworks down the road- At the exact second of that 1st 'KaB00m', Casey hit the back door- running outside, and screaming "WE WON!" "WE WON!" "WE WON!" "WE WON!"
Life sure is good at a time like that!


I took the pictures of Lambeau Field today as I drove to the stadium. There were literally 1000's and 1000's of people there.
Just in case you think I am overboard in my enthusiasm, I saw this in the Press Gazette-

What a LONG day this will be... As we wait for the game to begin.
I have tried to stay away from all the news stories this morning, but have been unable to not peek at a few of them.

Just that I will be kinda embarrassed to show my face there at my next appointment. (Think 'drunk' but kind- and unable to quite get the words out right).
Methinks "floobering" might be a good word. (No tears).
Oh well.
Did the shot work? I am happy to say that it did. Though the effect seems to be weakening a bit-
But I am so much better, pain-wise, than I was even 10 short days ago.

I will also be getting a Forteo infusion on the 22nd. I have heard both good and bad things about this-
Does anyone have anything to add, negative or positive of this annual therapy?

Gosh I had better close for now. I must vacuum before Greg gets here or he might sneeze during the game- Poor guy is allergic to the cat...
Casey has offered to cook for today, and I do not know what her menu might be- I will be making a few side things.

Well, 173 members of Congress don't.

A far-reaching anti-choice bill, introduced by Republican Chris Smith and supported by 173 members of the House, includes a provision that could redefine rape and set women's rights back by decades.¹

Right now, federal dollars can't be used for abortion except in cases of rape, incest, or when the woman's life is in danger.

But according to the New York Times, the Smith bill would narrow that use to "cases of 'forcible' rape but not statutory or coerced rape."² This could mean cases where women are "drugged or given excessive amounts of alcohol, rapes of women with limited mental capacity, and many date rapes" would no longer count as rape.³

As far too many women know, bruises and broken bones do not define rape—a lack of consent does. The Smith bill is scary. And with 173 supporters it already has a frightening chance of passage—unless the public speaks up right away with an outcry that can't be ignored.

Can you sign the petition to Congress today, demanding they oppose the sexist, anti-choice Smith bill?

The petition says: "Bruises and broken bones do not define rape—a lack of consent does. Stand up and oppose the dangerous GOP legislation to redefine rape."

Federal funds are already severely restricted when it comes to reproductive rights and women's health care, a situation that ends up hurting lower-income women in particular, who tend to use federally-funded services more often than wealthy women. The last thing we ought to be doing is legislating to make these laws more stringent.

In addition, the Smith bill is full of dangerous anti-choice provisions as well as the rape redefinition. Called "Stupak on Steroids" by NARAL Pro-Choice America in reference to Rep. Bart Stupak's failed attempt to push stringent restrictions on insurance coverage for abortion during the health care debate, it would "force millions of American families to pay more taxes if their health plan covers abortion care, jeopardizing abortion coverage in the private market."⁴

The Smith bill is just the first of many attacks on women's rights to come in the new GOP-controlled House.⁵ If it moves forward, it would set an incredibly dangerous precedent for GOP action in the House for the next two years.

My Cousin, Anna Rosethel Menard

Rose Menard
On Thursday, January 27, 2011 Anna Rosethel Menard — Rose as she was known to her friends and family — was called home to be with her family in Heaven. Rose was born on July 22, 1952 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI and passed away at War Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer.
She was a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and had proudly served on their Board of Directors as a Unit 4 Representative. She was employed with the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians as a Women’s Shelter Worker.
Rose enjoyed spending time with family/friends and prided herself on making sure that everyone who visited her home felt welcomed.
She enjoyed cleaning her home, playing cards, tending her yard, feeding the animals that came into her yard, making people laugh, and above all else, caring for children-she had such a special way about her that children were just naturally drawn to her  gentle nature.
She is survived by her daughters: Tiffany Sue Menard and Miranda Rose (Chrissy Yawn) Menard both of the Sault; her loving companion and friend James Lewis; her brothers: Robert a.k.a. Buck (Kathy) of Negaunee, MI, Ronnie (Julie) of the Sault, Thomas (Mary) of Negaunee, Wilfred a.k.a. Scott (Barb) of the Sault, Michael of Royal Oak, MI, Kerry (Charo) Dillon of Indianapolis, IN; and her sisters: Dorothy (John) Leach and Patricia (Lyle) Willette both of the Sault. In addition, she is also survived by several very special aunts/uncles, nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews, cousins, and close family friends.
Rose joins her parents: Louis Hector and Dorothy “Teeny” (McCoy) Menard; her brother, Louis “Jiggs” Menard; her grandparents: John and Florence (Rickley) McCoy and Louis and Rose (Myotte) Menard, along with numerous others she held near and dear in Heaven.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to  the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Women’s Shelter or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Visitation will be held at Clark Bailey Newhouse from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, 2011 with Rosaries at 6:30 p.m. and Traditional Teaching to follow. A Mass celebrating her life will be held at Holy Name of Mary Pro-Cathedral (St. Mary’s Catholic Church) on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. with Father Sabatian Kavumkal as celebrant. All are invited to join the family at the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Cultural Center (Niigaanigiishik Building) for lunch immediately after Mass.

My back rant. Forgive me.

Icicles over the back door...

Good Evening Everyone;
Just playing catch up again....

It is Casey's birthday- She is a whole Double-Dozen.

She is recovering well from her vagotomy.
(My spell check insists that 'vagotomy' should be 'vasectomy') - But I can pretty much assure you that is one operation she will never have. hehehe

She loves her job at U-of-M, and is a very joyful NA to have around!


As we drove home, Casey took a little nap- Snowfall can do that to a body- Kind of a flurry hypnosis.




'Course maybe the fact that she'd just had surgery had a lot to do with that nap too. hehehe




Driving up B the other day, we saw these horses making a meal out of the trees.
The trees will never recover when the bark is stripped all the way around; and I am thinking that there is something important missing from their diet to be eating the trees.

Punk has been out of sorts as well.




Maybe these little trips take their toll on her too. Casey even brought her to the vet the other day. We have been calling her our Little "PunkaLump" as she has bumps in a few places.  The bump that worried me was on her back- where she had gotten squished as a little puppy.  Oddly the one that worried Dr. Spires more is one between her toes. Time will tell if that growth changes or goes away.

Turnabout is fair play-
Casey took this picture of me while I was at the hospital last week for my back.


Damn fine thing I am still halfway strong, as I had most of my weight on my arms.
There was no way I was changing my clothes, so they just covered me up with one of those nice warm blankets.
A very nice doctor, and nice nurses too.
As soon as I was treated for my pain, Casey had left to run to her house to get some clothes to be able to stay overnight with me...

The radiologist (Holly) left much to be desired. She came in my little room, demanding that I "jump in the wheelchair" so she could bring me to radiology.
Nothing doing as I had all I could do to get from the wheelchair that carried me in on arrival, and get on the bed.
i explained that I could barely move without excruciating pain, and she got very angry at me, and asked if I could move? I said yes, that I wasn't paralyzed.
So once again, pointing, she demanded me to get in the wheelchair.
Again, after telling her how much pain I was in, I asked could she please wheel me down there on the bed?
She said they don't do that.
What?!? (No I didn't say that). I call BS though, as they have done that many times for Casey.  I didn't say that either.
But I did tell her "I am NOT going to argue with you."
With that she stuck her head out of the room and declared that she would need 4 or 5 people to help her get me down to radiology. While I am not extremely fat, I don't think 4 or 5 people would be necessary...

She wheeled me down the hall while everyone toddled behind.

When we got to Xray, "Holly" said they would pick me up and carry me to the table.
I asked them to kindly put the wheelie bed close to the table and I would move myself. after I was situated, I apologized to one nurse who was there for having made them wheel me down to radiology. Not knowing what had transpired, she looked a little perplexed but said, "Oh don't worry about that, we do it all the time. Besides that is why the beds have wheels on them." 
(Bitch that I can be, I was quite pleased that she'd said that in front of the technician).

Everyone but one male nurse left at that point- He helped me to be able to move to get into position for "Holly"
She told me to pull my bra up to my neck.
HAHAHA- God how I wanted to laugh...
But all I said was "No."
I told her I would unbuckle it and put the metal tabs in my armpits. She told me they would be in the way of the Xray.
I then pointed (best I could) to my vertebrae. i explained that she was taking pictures of the middle of my back and that wire hootchies in my armpits should not interfere with that if she did it right.
Ooh was she pissed...
So onto my back I went.
I bit my tongue so I wouldn't cry out loud-
Sometimes that helps, sometimes not. (Thankfully it did help enough that day so I wouldn't cry out in pain as I slowly got onto my back).

She told me to hold that position after she had taken 2 Xrays, wanting to make sure they turned out before I had to 'move' again. She spoke as though I was lying about my pain, and had I felt better I would have had more than a few nice words for her... ('Course had I felt better i would not have been there to begin with).

After she checked those out and proclaimed that they were fine, her attitude changed almost night and day. Suddenly I was "Anne" -and suddenly she was very quieted and gentle.
Go figure- She'd taken one look at my Xrays and knew damn well what she was dealing with- and it sure as hell wasn't a liar!
Oy- What a bitch she was!
And yes, I do know my back is neither her fault nor her problem, but i do believe there might have been the part where she gave me the benefit of the doubt...

I had an appointment with my pain management doctor the following day. Casey drove me there after staying overnight.
(Thank God they had a wheelchair, or I would not have gotten in the building).
Miss Becky was wonderful as always, and even brought in a different doctor to consult with. I had gotten out of the chair to go to the table, and wound up on my knees by the table. Not too uncomfortable, but I do believe I scared the dickens out of her and Casey. (Sorry girls).
They put 6 shots in my back once I was on the table.

Tomorrow I go in for 6 different ones.
She changed my pain meds too- They make me very tired- so at least I nod off every now and then.

I don't know what will happen next. That's maybe the worst part of it all. Though to be truthful, the pain actually scares the hell out of me at times.

Casey has been so very good to me, and I am sure that she would much rather be sleeping next to Greg than next to the stupid intercom phone here.

I haven't even dust-mopped in so long, and my once tidy house has become quite a mess. The hardest thing when Casey isn't here is letting Punk out, and getting her fed and watered. We finally put the 5 quart pan on the floor by the sink so I don't have to worry about carrying a stupid bowl of water.

I can't begin to tell you all how bad this is. There are no words to even describe this pain.
I did ask about the cement- No go -because it is now my entire back, and that cannot be done on the whole back.

They will put me to sleep tomorrow as these shots go straight into my spine. I pray that they work.

And on Friday, I get my TENS unit. Maybe by then I won't need it?

I wish there was a maid service for people with disabilities...

Casey has just gotten back- They had game tonight- She left early from there so we can be up early tomorrow too.
Poor kid.
She even bought her own cake. That made me cry.

The "Heart~Attack~Pack" is back!

Sometimes you just have to give 'up' a little...

No. No. No.
Just a little note...
At 6:45am today-
I had a zillion of your pages open this morning when something 'gave' in my back. The pain was indescribable, and immediate. I couldn't even move my feet off the little stool under the table to get my phone, let alone even take the weight off my forearms.
Punk was at my side immediately.
Stuck in my office chair, I texted Casey to call Randy- (her car is here yet). They were here within 45 minutes.
We spent the morning at the E.R. where they treated my pain, and of course took more Xrays. According to the doctor and the radiologist I have "the back of a 90 year old"

I don't think I have to tell you how it made me feel to hear that I will be in a wheelchair soon. It is more than defeating -to put it mildly.
I have an appointment with my pain doctor tomorrow. Hopefully I will know more after that. E.R doctors have been known to be wrong, right?

Green Bay Packer Babies

A Green Bay Packers Fan is drinking in a Chicago bar when he gets a call on his cell phone.
He hangs up, grinning from ear to ear, and orders a round of drinks for everybody in the bar, announcing his wife has produced a typical Green Bay baby boy weighing 25 pounds.

Nobody can believe that any new baby can weigh in at 25 pounds, but the Packer Fan just shrugs, "That's about average back home, folks like I said my boy's a typical Green Bay baby boy.
    
Congratulations showered him from all around, and many exclamations of "WOW!". One woman actually fainted due to sympathy pains.
    
Two weeks later, he returns to the bar.
The bartender says, "Say, you're the father of that typical Green Bay baby that weighed 25 pounds at birth. Everybody's been making bets about how big he'd be in two weeks. So how much does he weigh now?"

The proud father answers, "Seventeen pounds."
The bartender is puzzled, concerned, and a little suspicious. "What happened? He already weighed 25 pounds the day he was born?!?"

The Green Bay father takes a slow swig from his Leinenkugel's beer, wipes his lips on his shirt sleeve, leans into the bartender and proudly says...
..."We had him circumcised!"

G'mornin' all;
A horrible day for my back... So I will be keeping this short(er).

Greg got home from Milwaukee about 3 yesterday afternoon- 2 hours later, a very happy Greg and Casey left for their home.
I napped. hehehe

Casey is doing very well- A laparascope surgery is almost nothing to her now, after the major major cuts she has had in the past.
Still, the need to rest and heal is of the utmost importance.
She is one tough young lady!

Perhaps my back can be blamed on our beloved Pack for making me jump a few times on Saturday night, hehehe -but upon waking this morning, I am unable to barely walk enough to let the poor dog out. I have managed to move to a different chair as I need to. I have also managed to get Casey's car moved and the garage door closed. It is beginning to snow- It is to snow all day and night- It is falling straight across the yard too. Never a good thing.

I think I am the only Packers fan who has been holding their breath all season long- Ever since Grant was out for the year, (way back when), it seems that the rest of the Pack is dropping like dead flies.
Yet, it also seems that the more we lose players, the more strong we know we have to play, and the better we do.
Not to jinx anything, but I am so looking forward to the game this coming weekend, that this week will not pass fast enough for me!
Win or lose, the fact that we have gotten this far is freakin' fantabulous!
Honestly I think almost any Packers vs Bears game is better than the Super Bowl.

OK... That said, it is time for me to see if I can sit to sew a little now.

Every week, the Tea Party Nation hosts a weekly radio program, calling itself a “home for conservatives.” Two weeks ago, Tea Party Nation President Judson Phillips hosted the program and discussed changes that he felt should be made to voting rights in the United States. He explained that the founders of the country originally put “certain restrictions on who gets the right to vote.” He continued, “One of those was you had to be a property owner. And that makes a lot of sense, because if you’re a property owner you actually have a vested stake in the community. If you’re not a property owner, you know, I’m sorry but property owners have a little bit more of a vested interest in the community than non-property owners”:

PHILLIPS: The Founding Fathers originally said, they put certain restrictions on who gets the right to vote. It wasn’t you were just a citizen and you got to vote. Some of the restrictions, you know, you obviously would not think about today. But one of those was you had to be a property owner. And that makes a lot of sense, because if you’re a property owner you actually have a vested stake in the community. If you’re not a property owner, you know, I’m sorry but property owners have a little bit more of a vested interest in the community than non-property owners.

Phillips is advocating a policy of voter disenfranchisement that has its roots in the 18th century. When the United States was first founded, ownership of property was one of the requirements to vote in most elections. Many of these restrictions were phased out by the 1820s and replaced with requirements that the voter pays taxes. By 1850, these requirements, too, were phased out. Nashville Scene blogger Betsy Phillips calls the Tea Party Nation president’s idea a “frivolous proposal designed to stoke intergenerational antagonism — as if the people who are older and can afford a home are somehow better citizens than the 18-year-olds who are going off to war to die for our country.”

Unfortunately, numerous major conservatives have advocated for rolling back the voting rights of Americans. Supreme Court justice Anthony Scalia, Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX), Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA), and Sen.-elect Mike Lee (R-UT) have all advocated for repealing the 17th Amendment, which would end direct election of U.S. Senators and return Senate elections to the purview of state legislatures. OK I see this is from November 30th, 2010, and I am belated in reading and sharing it...
But am wondering where anyone comes up with such ideas?
