[My] Life in Wisconsin

She's B-a-a-a-ck!!! With an added PS...

And she is back with a very special message for everyone who is partaking of anything spicy or fizzy!  Like anyone who ate any of my chili!! hehehe

Image

(Maybe like a special note to Marty the Bear)?!?!

No major problems for her at any of the airports; save a 4~hour layover in St. Louis...  But from St. Louis to Chicago, she at least had someone nice to talk with...

Roberta stopped by to collect both the $$ and the shopping list from me; she would do my shopping before she picked Casey up at the airport.  (And I know this Grandma is biased and/or partial, but Master Gabriel is just such a joy... and ever so handsome too)!

Image

(Even in pain, he is such a living, breathing doll)!

After she had deposited Casey back here and we had eaten, she still had to go cut Miss Valeries hair.  Gabriel was a bit fussy, and I rocked with him and he had his little blanket too-  Having been quite deprived of a nap yesterday, he was still holding his own, and only a bit bent out of shape about it all... He refused anything more than a few bites of the Tater~Tot Casserole, and just wanted a bit of loving and to be held... His eyes looking a bit odd, and I asked her if she thought he might have a headache.  He had almost fell to sleep on my lap then when his Mama said it was time to go and cut hair...

Image

Casey and I were also quite tired, and both of us fell asleep by about 10~ish...  She had gone upstairs, and Punk and I had settled in the living room.     About 20 after one this morning, Roberta called to say she had to bring little Gabriel in to the Emergency Room- He had a temp of 104+ -and still had not slept; but had been very very uncomfortable all night long.  (104 is 'pushing it' for a 14 month old toddler), and she wasn't taking any chances.

Since I had gotten a few hours of sleep, I woke up then, let Punkie out and tried to do a bit of catching up with all of your blogs...   Spoke to Roberta about 4, and they could not find anything wrong...

So they say what every doctor will say in a situation like this... (And how many of us mothers have heard this one)?

"(S)He has a virus, make sure (s)he gets enough liquids, give her/him advil for the fever and the pain, and should it not resolve itself with in *X* number of days, please see your regular pediatrician."

blah blah blah...

Roberta not buying any of it, watching him closely and knowing how he felt, suggested to me after they had gotten home, that perhaps he had inherited the nasty migraine disease from herself.  Makes sense to me too- having seen that "look" in his eyes, the fever (from pain) and the refusal to eat, (but then to barf it up anyway)... Why didn't we think about this before???   And it makes me wonder in Roberta and Caseys situations when they were ever so little, how many of their own insidious crap was due to this disease too?    I told her to give him a bit of Mountain Dew and Chocolate should he awaken and still have that look about him...  Weirdly enough this combination actually works...  Not entirely sure why either.

And much later on, I went back to sleep~ until after 10!!!   (Yes, A.M.)!!!

Master Gabriel is fine today, driving home Roberta's own diagnosis, in almost no uncertain terms- and certainly not reinforcing the 'virus' explanation that came from the doctors at the E.R.

Casey slept until almost 11... She had her wash to do so I quick got in the shower... And it has been a calm and quiet day for us...  Yes, my toothache is gone!  And no it was not infected (unless Gabriel and I share such a grand scale immune system)... Just a bit had broken off is all; and yeah, it takes a while for the pain to go away is all.

No, dentists around here do not accept 'payments' no matter how 'well~off'  a patient may be, (nor in how much pain), nor how great their insurance plans are. That is simply not done, no matter how one tries to arrange it all... I didn't realize it would/could be any different in any other areas?  (Hmmm, Please let me know where to relocate)?!?! hehehe... But all better now!  Casey still has work to be done on her own mouth and hers will come first.

My hand, thumb and index finger are all still working... and as DeeAnne described it best yesterday it is the pain of sleepy feet waking, TIMES 100, to be having it all regain function...   Yet it is SO worth it too!

(I am still looking at them, making them move, and proclaiming this 'healing' yet another miracle in my life)!!!

And I am ever so happy that "All's well that ends well" too!

Even Punkie waited anxiously for Casey to come home yesterday...

Image

(But I think she was showing off the fact that she needs her nails redone)!

Oh, and the window in the door to the entrance?  Broken long ago- (maybe Mary had seen another "MOW-ISS" and jumped through it).  I never put a new one in, and it worked wonders to have the litterbox in the basement and Mr. Amos could "go" anytime he needed to!!!

Time for this granny to be fixin' some dinner, so will end this on that note today-

Hope everyone had a wonderful Monday... (Really, is there such a thing)??? hehehe

XOXO

Anne

Oh and before I forget, please visit my daughter  Jennifer's 360 Page too, and welcome her to our 360 World!!!   Now that she is in Texas, we will be keeping in touch through here!   (And yeah, she's got a sense of humor that could make Red Skelton roll over a few times)...

Have fun with all the links!!!

An added PS now that I want everyone to please understand...

It is an indisputable and very well known fact that what causes migraines also makes them dissipate...

The above 'migraine disease'  link puts many of the outdated ideas and old wives tales to rest too... Hence the few swallows of these items will make Gabriel at least "weller" enough to sleep.

Clearly, I really was not joking; those statements were made in all seriousness.

I myself do not ever "Do the Dew" unless I am getting a migraine... The same goes for partaking of anything with real chocolate in it. (The Maxalt is quite expen$ive, and since I have been known to be a bit miserly myself, I go straight for a Can of Dew first, then the chocolate... And if I am not feeling better in a few minutes, then I will take the Maxalt).  Ofttimes, this actually DOES work, but only on MIGRAINE mind you...

XOXO

Me again...

Wonderful, Terrible Nights!

Good Morning!

No that is not a picture of me, but I do love its polevaulting portrayal...

As many of you already know, I do not sleep well... (Nor was last night any exception to this rule).  Having been sleeping quite lightly anyway because of a nasty toothache, there was not really a comfortable position with due respect to my mouth, (and the heartbeat that has centralized on my gums)...  Knowing that this too shall pass is a relief in and of itself- And had I taken the vicoden for it, I know that I would too soon become addicted to that as it, (dammitallanyway), just hurts that bad!   And so I am being stubborn and not taking it.  Maybe Santa will bring me a dentist? (And no, not the guy from Rudolph)!

And so, I gave up that fight... As I also gave it up yesterday as I had begun to write out my little cards.

Having taken a nasty spill polevaulting in the backyard about 5 and a half years ago, I have had many problems with my hands not working... (something about breaking my neck rings familiar on that matter). And my right hand has been nonfunctional and downright frustrating for the past year and a half...  Its thumb and index finger sorta stuck in the "hold~up" position; although the joints nearest my hand did work, the top bend/grasp has not.  (I have already gone through this twice with my left hand).

Image

This picture showing it 'stuck'...

Getting back to my letters and cards... I found out that it hurt so badly to even hold a pen... Not deterred, I began to write anyway- and to my horror, my penmanship was completely illegible. (Call me 'doctor'); it WAS that bad, and so I decided to wait until I can even hold a pen decent.  (You will ALL understand, won't you)?

Yet, in the middle of the night here, even my hand was killing me; and as I opened the fridge door, my hand tingled and throbbed. (What the ...)???  Upon closer inspection, I see that I can actually do this...

Image

This finger has not bent that joint of its own volition for almost 2 years...

You cannot know the pain of phalanges that do not/have not worked...  (That it almost made me forget about my stupid tooth)...  Almost...

And then, to my complete and utter amazement, I can do this too...

Image

and even through the godawful pain, those were tears of JOY, and nothing else!

I have been 'teased' with having them function again, but it has not happened. It's a veritable pain in the ***  to be trying to type too, (and I never was Speedy Gonzales in that aspect anyway)... I know I am just 'hoping' now, but I think it would be pretty fandamtastic to be able to type normally again, with ALL of my fingers!    Yet, since I am clearly bending them both, I need to believe that "this is it!"    That they are coming back once more...  As God as my witness,  I will suffer ANY pain that this might entail to have them return. (Right now it feels as though I have pummeled my hand with a sledge hammer)!

I am right~handed, and I have even had times where I have had KC writing out the bills because of my hen~scratching and all...  (And I know this is surely NOT life or death, but should you think of it, please say a little prayer that I am right in thinking they are coming back)!

THIS IS GOOD NEWS!!!!

AND I COULD EVEN DANCE ABOUT IT TOO!!!  But I don't want to scare the neighbors!

...And now you know the 'rest of the story' of tonights "wonderful, terrible" experience!

Yesterday then, having decided not to have to write in hieroglyphics on my Christmas cards I came back on here and had the most amazing 'laugh til ya die' communiques between CaseyAnne, and DeeAnne too. Too funny, and yet I could not keep up with their young wit and faster fingers.  I am glad that Casey will be coming home today- Seems she has been gone so long already...

Jenne and Aaron will be getting married on Wednesday, December 13th. And I would give almost anything to be able to attend... Call me "Doubting Thomas" here, but I would have liked to have seen the ceremony anyway. (And might I say that it's about time these girls are digging in and loving forever)!

I had almost given up hope; mostly because they have never seen ME happily married, (and I believe that is ever so important  to be setting the example of a good and solid marriage).  More importantly, given the fact that Jennifer and Aaron have been best friends throughout the past 7 years, they already know each others quirks etc etc etc...

Please wish them ALL the happiness and peace in the world!  For I surely do!

I also hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. (I think I am going to find that sledge hammer for my tooth)!!! hehehe    'ouch'

Will you have a WHITE CHRISTMAS???

Pets~Out of Harms Way... (Raisin Link Added)

Good Morning All!

First off, I am NOT going to be sifting through any doggie~doo~doo... If it passes, she will have no further problems; if it doesn't, then the vet must check out her insides. But I do not have to sort or sift or do anything yucky, other than having to go pick it up outside and move it out of any footpaths.

Which reminds me, bringing me to: "Once Upon a Time"...

...Late at night and after the girls had been put to bed for the night, I was writing in my little journals when, of a sudden, Roberta came downstairs...
Crying... ?
(No, SOBBING UNCONTROLLABLY)...
Putting my pen aside, and gathering this one and a half year old child in my arms, I asked her what was wrong?

(Now if you have ever held a gasping, hiccuping, crying, speaking toddler in your arms you know what I am talking about when I say she was a might difficult to understand).

Between her hiccups, I just kept asking her what was wrong.
Finally she said, "BUNNY!"
I said "What about the bunny?"
Off she went, crying again...
Quite literally, about 10 minutes later, (and after quite a lot of noise in the middle of a cold and previously quiet night), I finally learned that she had, indeed, swallowed a bunny.

A bunny???
WTH?!?
Where did the damned bunny come from???
It wasn't even close to Easter?!?!

Not having been enlightened in the least, I still had to know what the heck had happened, so I asked her to show me.
With the innocence of a small child, she opened her mouth as far as she could... (Um, yeah, that's not going to help)...

So she took me upstairs to her room...
She did a bit of digging around... and came up with her little piggy bank!!!

WTH x 2 now
The danged bunny had been stuck in a piggy bank?!!? (What the ...)?
When I asked her how the bunny got in there, she only started sobbing and hiccuping all over again.

Not wanting to waken Zoe and Jenne to this midnight madness, we went back downstairs...
Someone had to have kicked me in the backside for this, but the translation came to me.
The 'bunny' she had swallowed was in all actuality a 'penny'.
A quick call to Dr. Shea was in order, and he gave me much the same advice that the vet had given me this past Thursday...

"Wait and see."
(Easy for him to say, right)?
He also said that in the meanwhile, I should put the child to bed and try to not worry! (Sure Dr. anything you say)!

The 'bunny' passed with no further ado... And most fortunately for me, I didn't even have to dig for it- It was sitting there, gleaming, in the little potty chair she had! (The 'bunny' got flushed)!

Now fast forward to 2006 here-

The poinsettia above was brought to me last weekend.

It is, without a doubt the most HUGE poinsettia I have ever seen in my life, as it stands at least 3 feet tall! When Greg had dropped it off, I started laughing a bit at the enormity of it... But it is simply gorgeous!!! (And yes, it "should" be far enough out of Punks reach)!

For an (almost) complete list of plants, shrubs bulbs etc that will injure/kill your dog, please CLICK HERE. Print it out, and keep it closeby for future reference. And yes, grapes and raisins will shut down a dogs kidneys in record time. Please be extra careful when putting your snacks and hors' d'ouvres out for your Holiday Company if you have a housedog or cat.

Click here for Raisin and Grape Toxicity in Dogs...

For specific Holiday Plants poisonous to your pup CLICK HERE.

Please know too, that DOGS and CATS are equally susceptible to these plants.

And then, there was the nice man that brought my Cub Cadet back with the little plow on it for me. Although I shall still call the snowplow for the major snows, (and still shovel the minor ones), I figured this would be excellent for clearing out the end of both driveways, and by the mailbox.

(The USPS gets so nasty if it is not cleaned out properlike). Grrr....

Get this... They will leave a notice in my box saying that I will not receive any mail until it is cleared out. How the heck does THAT work anyway??? Simple common sense would dictate that if they can leave the darned notice, then they could put my mail in the box too???

Speaking of the Postal Service, I did finally get to Suamico to collect my mail from the PO BX. Cards have arrived there also along with a nice surprise for me that wouldn't fit in the box! You kids are so cool; and now I am faced with the knowledge that I must really get my butt in gear and dive headlong into writing out my own cards!!! Yes, I will start that today!!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday!!!

LONG LIVE THE BUNNIES!!!!!

hehehe

"Wait a Little Longer!"

Good Morning to all!

It was another "wonderful day in the neighborhood" for us... (Me~n~Punk that is)...

While sitting back here yesterday morning, she had been asleep on the couch.

Normal so far.

She is always either on the couch, or at my feet; depending upon whether or not I have turned the furnace up yet. In this backroom there is no heat vent, only a cold air exchange; and when she is at my feet, she is basically covering half that register up with her backside.

Like I said, she had been out in the living room sleeping on the couch. I had been trying to play "catch~up" again with everyones blogs; and suddenly Punkie made SURE that I didn't finish with those efforts.

She likes to bring me little presents...

Yesterday she brough me one of the above chip clips. (I have a bunch of these with little magnets attached to my fridge)... But there certainly was "sum~ting~wong" with what she had brought to me...

In the photo below is a green clip, in the altogether, AND the orange one she brought me...

Oops!!! This is all that was left of the orange clip...

And so, after a quick look around, and collecting the pieces that I could find, I decided that another call to Dr. Spires was definitely in order. As soon as he got on the phone, and I relayed Punkies dilemma, he told me that it was too soon to tell if there would be a problem.

# 1... Plastic does NOT show up on an X~ray- (the little magnet WOULD have shown up, though by itself there would be no problem for her to pass that)...

# 2... Unless she is gagging, like Miss DeeAnne did, over my chili, or vomiting or otherwise uncomfortable, there is nothing to be done.

And # 3... It will take about 2 days or so for any of these symptoms to manifest themselves. (Or to pass)!

And so, WHY on Earth did Miss Punk choose a Friday to be eating a stupid chip clip???

She still seems fine today, and like Dr. Spires had told me, 9 times out of 10 there will be no problems with this type of diet as long as she does not make a habit out of it.

So I am just a bit worried what tomorrow will bring. These clips break into little plastic shards; (yes, I shall be watching her very closely)... And so it IS definitely going to be a 'hurry up and wait' weekend here!

Jenne called from Texas after they had locked themselves out of their new home... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Good thing it is warmer in Temple than it is here; and even better they had taken Isaiah outside with them! (Still laughing at you, Jenne)! But they did manage to get back inside; no harm done. She said they had gone shopping Wednesday evening for wedding bands, and today they will apply for a marriage license.

I guess all of my brainwashing, and nighttime whispering in their ears, as they grew up has paid off... (I always told them to elope)!!! hehehe True! God gives me 4 daughters, and an ex~husband who has virtually NO contact; so WHO do you think is going to pay for all these weddings???

NOT!

Please wish Jenne and Aaron well! Too bad that Casey will be flying home on Sunday, as she could have at least been witness to the ceremony... But I think because it is the Christmas season, it would be highly impractical to be trying to change her airline ticket now.

I see too that CaseyAnne has even posted a new blog!!!! Yay! And it's about time! Aaron has the high speed internet, but decided to give the access to his sister so she could be ready for all of her finals at college. It will only be a couple of days that they are without. And in the meantime she will be home! (Go ahead and click on her link, and leave her a sassy comment on her blog)!

And you can do the same for DeeAnnes link above- She has been ever so sassy, so God gave her the flu! hehehe

On that wicked note, it is time to get my backside moving for another day!

Hope you all have great weekends ahead!

XOXO
Anne

It's Beginning to LQQK a lot like "Silly"

Good Morning!

And yes, if you are wondering, even Punkie says she's had enough of the funny stuff!

Image

She was still half asleep, but still cute!

It was SO cold yesterday that I HAD to make a pot of chili... I never did learn to cook 'small' after everyone left home, so now I have a couple of gallons left over. But it always does taste better the next day, so I shall happily enjoy more of it today!   (And I am thinking that maybe a couple of kids might make it out here today/tonight)? hint hint!  No, I do not add the 'pasgetti'  to it, so I can always freeze it in smaller servings.

I dragged all my Christmas boxes up the steps yesterday.  Punk was also NOT amused by those taking up space in 'her' living room!  Nor did she care much for the mess I made (and left behind)...  About 9 or so at night, she always crawls in her little corner of the couch and crashes if I have not yet gone up to bed. Since the couch was completely covered from one end to the other, this was impossible for her to accomplish- So she stayed close by, and every now and then I would hear this LOUD (and somewhat obnoxious) yawning going on...  Too funny.  I cleared off the couch and she happily laid right down 'til we went upstairs.  (She is still asleep, waking only while I stuck that old Santa Hat on her head)...

Speaking of obnoxious...   You, my friends, are ALL getting me in trouble...   While I had a bit of laughter over your hitting the 'reply all' button on my message to the world, there are a few that didn't get the giggles about it.  I apologize to all for that oversight in my little note.

(But I do think that little flurry of messages should be over and done with now)...  er, I HOPE it is anyway!!! hehehe

Sorry. Sorry!! SORRY!!!                Image

After finally psyching myself to go outside and walk down the very windy driveway, and cross the road;  I received my very first Christmas cards yesterday!!!  And so came my inspiration to get that darned tree up and out of the basement...  I just cannot "do" cards without a bit of surrounding Christmas ambience;  the tree, lit up, will provide that for me quite nicely...

I received a note from my sister this morning-  Finally, the FDA has recognized that people are dying from this Methadone, and has FINALLY issued a Public~Health~Advisory on it.  You should be able to click on that and read that warning to all.  Losing Reianna a few months ago was one death too many for us all, and I am sure that every other family that has lost a loved to this drug feels exactly as I do. It's about time!

METHADONE KILLS- (Even one little pill)... If you are new to my 'friends list here,  please read that link, even if you do not finish reading my blog today- it is that important.   You can also click on "Reianna" in the above paragraph and read her story...

Adverse events potentially related to methadone therapy should be reported to the FDA's MedWatch reporting program by phone at 1-800-FDA-1088, by fax at 1-800-FDA-0178, online at http://www.fda.gov/medwatch , or by mail to 5600 Fishers Lane, Rockville, MD 20852-9787.

I'd better close for now and get started on my day- It has been so very windy for the past few days that it has completely leeched any humidity out of the house- That said, i will have no qualms about doing a bit of wash! ha!  One of these days... If I do not freeze to death by the weekend perhaps my laundry discharge hose will thaw out enough to either use it properly or even to remove it...

In the meanwhile, there is no need for the April-Aire!

Have a grand day everyone!

and DO stay warm!

"Full Cold Moon"

G-g-g-good M-m-m-morning to All...

The above picture taken from my bedroom window; (which incidentally HAD to be opened to capture the picture)! It is 3 degrees as I write...

But already the sun is risen, and the look of it outside definitely NOT describing the 'feel' of it either... And it IS cold~ That 'bone~shattering' cold that we have all felt at one time or another...

And so, this "Full Cold Moon" has come to its zenith already- The harbinger of winter... (I don't like it already)...

This now, taken from the Calendar of Nativeamericancircle

"During this month the winter cold fastens its grip, & nights are at their longest and darkest. It is also sometimes called the 'Moon before Yule'. The term Long Night Moon is a doubly appropriate name because the midwinter night is indeed long, & because the Moon is above the horizon for a long time."

Still, looking at my own calendar, it is not until the 22nd that "Winter" actually begins...

WHAT!?!?! Now, why do I find that so freakin' funny???

(My toes do not know 'funny'; but sure as they wiggle, they know "COLD").

Besides, I much prefer to think of these 3 measley stupid degrees as 'winter'. Because if I don't, what the heck will "winter" then bring???

And as the sun began to break the horizon, offering no relief from the cold night, I also took this picture-

My cold 2nd driveway in the background as Miss Punk looked up at me, thinking how was I up in that window when I had just let her outside... (I do love to 'cornfoose' my little pup)! hehehe

Oh!! Oops!! Well I see that I have cut her out of this picture. (Sorry about that). Now you'll just have to take my word for it...

I had chance to actually read my horoscope for the week- and it is so funny that I must share with you... Here goes: "

You're like a superhero on Monday and Tuesday. You unzip your everyday clothes to reveal a whole new persona -- maybe not new to you, but new to everyone else. You're a daring person, but you've never had an excuse to step out in quite this way before. Wednesday and Thursday, you're overwhelmed by a sense of double trouble: You want more than one thing simultaneously, or you want to proceed in two opposing directions simultaneously, or perhaps you're simultaneously sad and thrilled about the same thing. It's confusing! Whatever you do on Friday through Sunday, you turn heads." hehehe

YAY! I'm going to be turning heads!!!

...And now for the translation you ask? OK- ...I will be driving into town on snow/ice covered roads, and everybody will have to watch as I drive into the ditch--- in my 'new persona' unzipped clothing!

Howszat?

Having gone back to sleep in the wee hours of the morning here, I find that I am very very late getting a few things done around here, so I must say "Tata for Now"

Have a good one, and do stay warm!

XOXO
Anne

Note to my Canadien "Friends" ...Would you please keep these cold fronts up by you from now on? I would really appreciate that little effort on your part.

And speaking of my Canadien Friends, if any of you ever want to laugh out loud, and forever, please check out Miss Vals page- She is recently moved to North America- Please welcome her in kind!

But be warned too, please do not be drinking anything whilst reading her entries... I guarantee you whatever you are drinking will be coming out of your nose in short order!

I Always Feel Like...

...(Somebodys Watching Me)!

Talk about a little healthy paranoia!!!!

Good Monday Morning!

I think I froze my little pinkie yesterday. Since I never did call the plumber, I went outside to try to remove the washers discharge hose... (THAT didn't work)! So I guess I will just have to wait 'til Spring to launder my clothing! (Personally, I believe it is a very good thing I live with a couple of dogs)? hehehe

Image

Speaking of those dogs, I had them out for quite a while playing together, but I figured when my little finger lost color it was time for Punkie to come in and thaw her own paws too. She wasn't happy about that, but I see that she did curl up with her paws all tucked under her too! Neither was Miss Milly too happy... She lasted all of about 5 minutes in the house... (Careful Milly, your paws might thaw out)!!! But she comes inside, wants her petting and her pigs ear, and just wants to dash back out. I just cannot get it through my head that it probably IS more comfy for her because that is what she is used to. And I cannot help thinking that one day I wll go out there and find a frozen solid dog... (and with my luck she would be all curled up in her doghouse and I would have to wait til Spring to get her out of there)!

Coming back inside, I was assaulted with such an icky smell... Yup, yet another "mow~iss" in the trap! I wish I knew where the heck they were coming in from??? I hadn't checked the trap in the last few days... hence the nasty smell. (Hope you're not eating breakfast)! hehehe

Last summer, Miss Milly had caught this little guy- I think it is a baby possum, so tiny. Cuter when I realized he had already "passed" too!

Image

A friend of mine was in an accident two days ago; and while there were no injuries, the truck didn't fare nearly as well. And so I have offered up the old Buick (Roadmaster). It has always started in the wintertime no matter how cold it had gotten; and it is one of those "tankety~tank" cars that will give its own life before it will harm a single hair on your head. So I had to go outside and get it running to make sure that it still started in wintertime... Of course it did. (Oh me, of little faith)...

I swept and scraped 'Mother Nature' off of it; letting it warm up before Punkie and I took it for a ride. (And in doing so, I realize just how much I miss driving that car)! They sure don't make 'em like that anymore! (All that, and it still gets between 25 and 30 MPG... I kid you not)! But I will run down to Fleet Farm and get a few bags of sand for in the trunk too. A bit of stability (weight) for the old rear wheel drive.

I took some of Caseys venison out of the freezer and will make that up today. (I have hidden a few of those pieces of meat way down in the freezer... And since I cannot remember if i ever put the picture of "Casey and Her Two Boys" on here, I shall do so now...

Image

That was last year-

And in the course of 15 seconds, she had shot her 1st (and 2nd) deer! Both were nub bucks; but the meat tastes SO much better than "old" deer anyway, so nobody has ever complained about it either! (well maybe if those deer could speak they just might have offered up a complaint or two)!

Such a hodge-podge of thought today...

I took this picture yesterday morning. And I know that I used to know what the 'ring' around the moon means; but have NO idea anymore- Do you?

Image

It was such a colorful ring- The photo does NOT do it justice in the least, but it did capture the essence there~of...

Now, if you really want to see some beautiful photography, please visit Miss Lisa's page. She takes the best pictures!!! (Witty too)! Enjoy!!!

On that note, I shall close for this morning and start vacuuming- (that always warms me up)! And then 'on' with my day!  I still have to find some chairs for my dining room table so maybe I can try to do that too! (Shall I double~up, or halve, that xanax then)?

Have a 'wunnaful' Monday!!!

Is anyone elses 'page counter' screwy? I had a ton of mail, comments etc yesterday and my counter only said I had a few people here- (less than the number of comments even)!  Now how do you comment without viewing my page? Hmmm...

Isaiah and Punk

Good Morning Everyone;

First and foremost, they are BOTH alright!  Most of you have already read Miss Punkins 4th blog entry- and My Little Man Isaiah was ill in Texas too.

We had a terrible scare yesterday, with Casey calling me at about 3:30 in the morning, unable to sleep because Isaiah had been ever so restless and kicking and coughing etc etc etc.  While it was hard for her to have lost so much sleep in the past week or so, it was nice to have had such a nice long conversation with her too.  (I suggested she waken Jenne)...

Aaron, Jennifer, CaseyAnne and Isaiah then spent the day at a rather large hospital in Temple, Texas. I think she said it was called 'Scott and White' -(Not sure though)...   Isaiah being checked for possible blood clots.  Having had a CAT Scan, they did find a nodule on his lung, (perhaps from his Proteus Syndrome)... But they found no blood clots, saying only that he is at very high risk for them...  They have sent him home, and with some antibiotics for the 'just in case there's an infection' somewhere which would account for the fever he had.

Image

Like I said earlier, he is alright!

And with a huge sigh of relief from my heart as Jenne herself had called me so very late in the afternoon yesterday.  I am a fairly patient person, (except for when it comes to blatant stupidity);  but that damnable 'Waiting Game' that I played yesterday, coupled with the 1300 miles between us, was one of the hardest things...

And now for the Doo-Doo Dog...

Image

Miss Punk~

More than a few of you have written to ask me how she has been.  It seems that she too is alright... (And "alright" in my book at this point in time defined solely by the fact that there have been no further stinky accidents in my living room).

She is eating and drinking.  (This after only one dose of the medication she was given)!   I never gave much thought to hearing a dog crunching her food, or making a mess by lapping her water... But it did my heart good to hear BOTH of those noises late on Friday.  (And I just prayed that I would not be scrubbing any more doo-doos)...  Poor little Punkin...   Gosh these dogs are so very much a part of my family and my heart.  Miss Milly, obnoxious mother that she can be, came inside for only a little while yesterday.  I hate that it gets so darned cold outside and that she PREFERS to be out there!  While Miss Milly was inside, Punk had to be put in the entrance by herself because she has not yet learned to share me with her mother. (And if she's sassy like that, she MUST be well on the road to recovery)!  I shall still be watching for that nosebleed for another week or so, but by all indications this was only a bacterial GI infection.   Keep your paws crossed!

Image

Miss Milly and Miss Punk- ...Definitely warmer days...

Not too much other news; I stayed very close to the phone yesterday...  And did catch up on a few of your thoughts and blogs too, although I was a bit more than preoccupied as you can guess.  I tried leaving a few comments, but gave that up after I reread them... (Kinda too scatterbrained for even me)!

I hope you are all having a great weekend, and that you are all safe and toasty!  Those of you that have had to contend with this 1st snowstorm of the year will have to comment here and tell me all about it! (And those of you that have no idea what snow is will have to leave your snide "ha~ha's" too)!!!

Here's a little something to put on your lips!!! hehehe

Go forth... and BEHAVE!

XOXO

Anne

ARF! #4 (Poopin' Punkin)

ARF! (remember that's like ALOHA to you humanoids)

Yup, it's ME again!!!

Anyway... I sure don't feel too good right now; and even 'she' knows this. As I sat on her lap last night, she just hugged me for a while~ But soon as I left the lap, all hell broke loose! And I do mean REALLY LOOSE!!! (And on her floor too)! So last night I was left to my own devices out in the entrance and all alone... This was NOT FAIR!

...And I don't think she will be giving me any more of those new doggie treats she bought either. Bet she'll give 'em to my Mama now. Nothin' ever bothers my Mama; (well, 'cept ME sometimes). Anyway, I guess I'll be stuck with that banana biscotti that 'she' bakes for us doggies.

Maybe I shouldn't say "stuck"~ I do like it, (And a whole LOT)! But sure, I like the treats that come out of the crinkly bags too.

I don't like the bags though; they scare me.

Everytime she goes away without me, she will come in with those noisy, scary, crinkly bags... And so I just watch from afar. 'Cept for earlier this week... It was my 'birthday' comin' up; and I could smell the wonderful smell of a new BONE for me... I crawled closer, and then I could SEE it too! There it was, sittin' right on top of the open bag that she'd left on the floor!!! So I snuck up on it then, real quiet like... I even got it a day early! (She is a such a sucker for a nagging pup)!

...I am a whole 8 months old now ya know! (and FOUR days)!!

Me, with my birthday treat!

Some days, 'she' says I'd better grow up fast; and other days she wants me to be little again. I sure wish she'd make up her little mind... (Not the sharpest pencil in the case)...

I don't know what is happening outside anymore. I used to play and play all day long. I even used ta be able to help my 'she' pull the weeds out because her hand don't work, and I could pull 'em out faster anyway. Now I go out, pee and poo and have to come right back inside cuz my paws get all tingly right away. I think 'she' said "Baby, it's COLD outside."

It was real dusty out there this morning- (even worse than on the inside)!! -and it looked like she was baking outside all night long and that she must have kept spilling stuff. But this new stuff was cold and tingly too.

So yes, I always pee and poo outside- ('ceptin' for last night that is)...

And I didn't mean to make her get mad either. Now I don't really know how 'mad' she was, but I DO remember her hollering "NO!" - and really LOUD too.

Boy, she sure can make a LOTTA noise! No wonder that numb nuts dude was scared of her! Obviously I'm much smarter than him anyway because I know that her bark is worse than her bite! And I know this is true, because she has never ever bit ME!

Back to last night though... After I got sick, she hung up her 'talkie~ringie' thing real fast -

Now try to explain what she did next, wouldja? She then puts me outside saying I could "finish what I started"...

(WHAT)??? gheess-

I had already finished it all ~~~ inside! OOP~OOP (haha, spell that backwards)!

What the heck does she think when that much poo falls out of me? Was she kidding, or what??? Does she really think I can make MORE before I freeze to death out there? (She's not the brightest crayon some days)... She had water in her eyes when she let me back inside though, and it smelled funny in here too. Ha. She only 'thinks' that stuff smells good. But I am a dog, and even us young'uns have these great snouts! (I mean, heck, I found my birthday treat, didn't I)?

I didn't eat at all yesterday, 'cept for a few treats... And when she got up this morning, I wouldn't even go play with my toys when she fired 'em across the room, and up the steps... I lay down at her paws, and just cried a little every now and then. ...Soon as she could she used the 'talkie~ringie' thing and called that nice doctor man. Well, he wanted to see me!!! (I LOVE it when people wanna see me)!!! But I had to go for a ride to go see him, (which was just fine cuz I haven't been eating and drinking anything anyway).

And then, 'she' goes really slow cuz there's that DUST all over the place!!! We finally get there, and there's another nice man sitting on a chair waiting for something. He sez he wants one of my brothers or sisters, but 'SHE' sez she don't know if my Mama will have anymore since we were kinda hard on her and all... He's from a place called Southern California; and said now they live right close to us. He was real nice~ but kinda funny too- He had holey shoes on with socks... She asked him why he had 'sandals' on... Guess he didn't think it was that cold.

He was nice, and then his 'she' and their dog came out of MY room~ I think that doggie was right CUTE, 'cept he growled at me! (The little rat~turd, if I'd have felt better I would have told him I could have eaten him for lunch)... Good thing I wasn't too hungry then...

Then it was MY turn!

I got up on the big flat thing and the Dr. said I was 77.7 pounds. (Not too shabby for a little kid like me, huh)? And then we got to go into my room there. The Dr. stuck something in my butt- He's kinda weird this way, and always does this to me. (It doesn't hurt, but I thought maybe I would have to 'go' but I didn't). He said it was normal at 102.34. (I don't know what that means, something about not having a fever). Then he takes his 'sun' and shines it in my eyes! (Hey I don't like that- It's kinda like when she takes a picture of me)... But the nice lady that came in to help him offered me a treat, (and a really BIG one too). I couldn't resist and I ate it ALL!

Meanwhile, my doctor is rubbing me all over, pushing things- and then he looks in my ears and sez they are fine. (My snout is fine too, remember? but he didn't even look there).

Then he sticks these things in his own ears... She makes me lay down and he puts the other end on my fur. Then he puts it in a different place- This goes on and on and on. This is starting to tickle so I start to wiggle and squirm. Finally he puts it on my tummy too. He asks my 'she' if she has heard any wierd digestive noises. She sez just from her own belly! (haha very funny). And then they laugh, while I'm the one that's sick... Oh, for Pete's sakes!

He asks her all kinds of questions... She tells my secrets, and I'm not sure if I like her so much anymore cuz she told him she caught me with a hairpin in my mouth just the other day. I thought maybe he'd get mad, but he didn't. (And I'm not about to tell them if I swallowed one of them things either)! She asked the doctor about the poison she'd put out for the mouses, (even though she hid it on us doggies in the pallets and stuff). He said it would be much too early for them to know. Guess I wouldn't get sick for about a week... He told her that if I DID do this, then I would have a bloody nose and start to breathe loud. (She asked him if my snoring counted; and they all laughed at me, AGAIN)!

haha very funny...

So anyway, he thinks it could be a bug... Yeah, and I KNOW all about bugs cuz I pound 'em with my paws, and then I eat 'em if I find 'em in the house! So now one must be in my tummy making me feel a little yucky!!! (I'll be pounding and chewing them MUCH better next time)!

OK.

So the doctor gave her another bottle of pills for me and said that I should get better fast. She said the pills are called 500mg 'metronidazole'. (I say who cares what they're called, long as I get better)???

And the best part of the whole thing was that she stopped at the place that smells so yummy. It is next to where the little one used to work. And she got me a meat and bread thing there. I had to smell it all the way home then. She is SO mean sometimes... That is a really long ride when she is going so slow. She kept saying something about the roads and the "SNOW" (So THAT'S what its called)! Finally we get home, go inside... Then, get this, 'she' is so mean that she opens my mouth and actually shoves this pill down my throat! I shook my head 'no' when she had offered it to me. Then she cuts the meat and bread into teeny tiny little pieces and mixes it all up with my regular food... So I ate THAT all too. And I think she heard me drinking a little water too. Maybe I will be better soon.

I wish I could talk though so they could know if I ate something that I shouldn't have- She will be worried now for at least the next week, even though the doctor told her it would be fixable...

After I ate all that, and drank a bit, I got to go outside by my mama while my 'she' shoveled the SNOW from by my door, and my mama's door- and a bunch of other places too. It wasn't so cold when I wrestled with my mama in the sunshine; even if we were rolling in the snow!

I have to go nap now... It was a big day for a little Punkin like me!

A real big "ARF" to everyone!!!!

ARF ARF ARF!

and LOVE too,

"Punkie the Pup"

...and 'member, never tell her any secrets or you'll be sorry!

"Morton Salt" Day...

Good Morning...

First to thank you ALL for your love, your laughter, and your comments from yesterday...

I do love ya ALL!

I figured there would be a little venom for that vermin!

And I hope he read every single comment in my 360 magical 'mirror~mirror on the wall' (and in his face)! hehehe

My little Punkin has been off her feed since yesterday- And is not even wanting to drink water. She will visit Doc Spires this morning...

Earlier, my washer decided that the laundry room would make a grand swimming pool... Last night the kitchen drain came apart, and as I rinsed my dishes I was also rinsing my feet... ick. I have had that drain fixed any number of times already; each person claiming it would NEVER come apart again...

Time to call a plumber and to get things fixed right- AND I DON'T EVEN CARE IF IT IS A DAMNED WEEKEND!

But first things first- Since I have not (yet) ever been accused of NOT having my priorities straight I shall fill you all in AFTER Punkie visits the vet... Wish her well...

Hope you are all having a great Friday...

XOXO Always,
Anne

Discovered... (And Foiled Again)!

It's not new- I only needed to clarify a few 'colors' is all...

(Better grab a cup of coffee kids, it's a  l-o-n-g one)!

But I just need everyones 'take' on it, if you don't mind... (and if you have the time)...

Added:  I am already overwhelmed by the outpouring of support here, and it's not even 3 in the pm yet!  I know I can never thank you all enough for all of your kind words...  You all make me feel so good!

Good Morning EVERYBODY!!!!    Image

Such a busy day yesterday, trying to get ahead of the very cold weather that is heading our way. (It is 23 degrees as I write).  I even decorated the old crabapple tree! (And I must have moved the camera a bit when I snapped the above picture)! Thought the photo was pretty cool anyway! Stringing lights outside when it is 50+ degrees, even if it was a bit damp, was a treat this year! I have a little timer on them too- But it never did go on at dusk as it said it would.   I jiggled the darned thing, and viola, 'LIGHTS'!   (And they even turned off when they were supposed to)!   Yay!

Yesterday was to be my last day of even trying to work outside comfortably.   So all the possible dog poo piles were removed to the fields where they will certainly fertilize the wheat crop for next year... (How come every single time I do this task, the dogs follow up with 2 more piles to be carried away)???

Procrastinating up until this point, I still needed to crawl down in the water pit by the well and take the hose down for winter.

The well is out in the pumphouse. OK, that was a stupid point~ (Where the heck else would it be)????

The pump and the pressure tank for the well are underground in a tidy little concrete area. This 'area' is approximately 7-8 feet deep, and about 5 or 6 feet square. The sides of which are concrete, and that concretre extends up above the floor level in the old milkhouse...

This is NOT a job that is classified in MY book as "womens work" (But since I looked everywhere for a man, and found none,  I thought I had better do this job, nasty as it is, and just get it over and done with).     I do not particularly care to be crawling on down there- and most especially when there is no one to even hold the light for me,  (or just even to be witness to this potentially suicidal task).

And SO, being the cowardly, (yet halfway clever person) that I am, I simply chose NOT to crawl down in that pit to get it ready for winter... Looking around, I'd found an old rake that might reach to move a few things around while I leaned over the side...

...It was actually working for me!

(Now, feeling more than a bit smug at that point, I momentarily neglected to respect the forces of gravity)...

A rather big  mistake for me...

No, I didn't 'fall in'    ...But I did drop the darned rake!     Yup, I still had to crawl down there on a warped and rickety ladder... It is a good thing I am halfway strong too, as I came back up, the top rung of that ladder was too far gone to be putting any weight on and I had to pull myself up and over the wall then...  (Blame it on the alprazolam, Xanax,  people... remember)?

And I 'fed' all of my little animals (rodents) out there too- A few Ropax bars in the shed, the old garage and in the the calf pen too- And I use the Ropax especially for the more warfarin (D-con) resistant rodents...

(The little buggars are stealing Miss Millys dog food)! How dare they!!! But now the varmints can 'steal' a bite or two of this!   hehehe

And now, on to my title effort here...

My sincerest apologies to those 'good' men that might be reading this blog... (And I do honestly try not to lump you all together)!   But, you are forewarned-  Given my experience here, (and my own current blood pressure), I am thinking this just might be one of those "men without brains" entries... (just kidding about the B/P; I checked it and it was 96/52)...

Mr. Connecticut; You once asked me why I am not "taken" ?    That said, I would cherish any insight you might provide on the following...

As many of you might know, I have a link to my personal dating site here on my front page.  When someone contacts me through my profile on there, I always send them a link to my blog here.   Easier that way to eliminate those who might think my dating profile is a bunch of HOO~HAA,   (and yes to also eliminate those that neither can read, write, or comprehend)...

And so yesterday, I received a missive from a person about 90 miles away... (notice right away that the word "man" is not used)...

His words to me?  Well, here are just a few ot them...

******************** the first note then...

Anna,

I read your entire profile, and I must say, it was intriguing. I like the 'up front' thing right off. ...(blah blah blah)...

I have a full time job here, (&) am a retired police officer... (More blah blah blah).

I have been cheated on so much, I don't know what to expect anymore from women, but I am not giving up. I can't categorize every woman with the cheating one I was with. (Blah blah blah... and a few more trivialities to end of note).

*******************

I replied to it, asking that he visit this little blog of mine to kind of get a handle on what he may/may not be getting himself into...

(hehehe)

********************

And he wrote this back last night:

Well, after pouring over your blog for hours, I came to the conclusion that you scare me to death and back again.

I don't need the threat of a shotgun going off, or the idea of me being arrested by your deputy friend, so I am just going to stay put here.

To be honest with you, I'd be afraid to eat a meal at your house or even talk to you because I may say or do something that would set you off, and there we'd be.

Are you sure you haven't had a movie/book based on your life called "Cybil?"

Goodness me, you come on so strong, you'd scare anyone.

I couldn't tell who was writing what you wrote, you or someone else in your close knit family and friends. I know you (claim) wrote every word, but it sounds like it is coming from several different personalities.

I can take a lot, but Anne, you are over board with your demeanor. I know it means nothing to you what I say, but Hon, if you come on this strong, it'll be a long time before you can share your life with someone of the make persuasion. I think I'll just pass on any more communication. Thanks for being so open.

It does help make up a mans mind quickly.
There will be no need to answer me here, ok?

****************

Now, I think you ALL know me well enough to know that I am a dog and cannot leave it like that-   And so I comprised a note of my own...

his replies, (after threatening me with hiring an attorney???) are included in italicized red...

My original reply is in the brown font...  And this is the way it came back to me--- (Guess he couldn't comprise a note of his own)...

*************************

Sir?

You are correct, your note probably doesn't deserve a reply-

And yet I feel I would somehow be remiss if I didn't offer one...

I am very happy that the first 23,170 people that have read my daily life/times blog didn't think like you do. (And yes, I am very proud of those page views and numbers)- Especially considering and given the fact that I can type out a few words each day and maybe humor people, or perhaps even make them feel a little better about their own seemingly impossible situations. (Some have impossible situations, some do not, but we are all of a respectful nature). These are my "FRIENDS", not just morons who cannot read or comprehend my written words...    That's because they don't know the real you

Now... If you had truly spent hours 'poring' over my own entries, I think you would have (during that time) realized that most of it is written "tongue in cheek" anyway-    Well, you hid that very well I tell you that!

I am lighthearted, (and bighearted), and I am very proud of those attributes too.     Yeah right. I can tell the way you answered me.

As are my friends and family; and ALL those that KNOW me too...

They have stood beside me when my youngest daughter has had no less than 6 surgeries in the past 12 months-

They have gathered together to offer prayers, support and love through the death of my step~daughter in September.

(And sometimes they even miss me when I do not write)...

Believe me when I tell you that I have been accused of many things in my life- But I can assure you that scaring a man "to death and back" is not one of them! That's a new one on me! Get use to it!

But I DO thank you for giving me the inspiration for tomorrows blog. You don't mind if I use your words and see what my 'readers' think of your opinion, do you?  And so I shall-    (Not sure, but I think this is where that attorney must come in)...

You are correct on another point as well... I can be brutally honest, and I believe that that aspect is also brought to light and life in my own profile on my date site- good for you

So then why even contact me to begin with?

Knowing full well that I am not some mealy~mouthed, stupid, dependent, clingy, dumb broad? Your thoughts, not mine.
?????

Sorry, but I am looking for a REAL man that comes complete with a sense of compassion and humor; that has enough honesty to match me humor to humor...

...(and back again)!
...because without that, we would all have to be 'bored' then.

...I think this entire note you wrote is humerous. You aren't humorous at all. Maybe in your own mind you are

You are out and out dangerous.

Good luck to you, Sir.

Anne~

(NOT 'hon' to you)...

You are so far from "hon" it is pathetic. Besides, I didn't mean it as a term of endearment. Far from it.

You must really think you're something huh? (Keep thinking that, someday it might come true)... 'Geez', (NOT his original word),  put that on there once and see how many responses you get.   Had I known you'd flip out like this, I surely would not have contacted you. Just proves you aren't the person you say you are in your profile.

Don't bother writing back, I have blocked you from any more emails.

**********************

"Oh. My. Freakin'  NO!"

My true colors have been tried and found waiting... And I hate it when they can figure me out, and even diagnose me so danged fast!   (I just HATE when that happens)...

And now YOU all know too, exactly what type of person I really am...   ;-)

Gee Folks, was it something I said???...

...Good!!!

hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe !!!!!!!!!er...

Have a good one!

XOXO,
Anne

Oops... Sorry Hon, I meant to sign:  "CYBIL"...

...I should also add:  "I WROTE THIS"...

...(well, one of us did anyway)!!!  hehehehehe

****Sally Field ROCKS! ****

Revisiting Yesterday...

Good Morning!

I have always heard it said that "if you don't like the weather in Wisconsin, you are only to wait a minute and it'll change"

After seeing the forecast here, methinks that will be holding true for us today/tomorrow...

It is currently 55 degrees, with rain (although I haven't heard the thunder that they have said will still come)- But by this time tomorrow we should be all of about 18 degrees, and with snow... (I am happy that Miss Slurk6k is moving and as such cannot either be online, nor be doing her 'Happy Snow Dance' in Green Bays honor) ...

Ok, now to get back to yesterday...

I first need to thank all of you who have either commiserated, or have shown the compassion that those of us that have this absolutely need.

We are not crazy.... (really!) !

I am on Paroxetine- (Paxil)- and have been for the last year. And I take the Xanax when I need to go someplace (other than the next room). I am told to take the Xanax 3 times a day... although lately the darned stuff only makes me tired- Oh, I am alright for about 3 hours (tops), and then I'd better get home and take a nap. (If this continues, I shall just have to blame the people that make the Alprazolam for any weight gain)! hehehe...

The book that was offered I have already read- and it worked just about as well as the Anxiety & Phobia Workbook that I also have, so that one's a thumbs down for me. (Besides, Dale Carnege has never had a panic attack in his life- and I liken that to Ann Landers sending people with marital problems to go talk to their priest)! Duh! I don't think so! (Did anyone else ever see the stupidity in that advice, or was it only me)???

And yes, one has an inate ability to "know" if the other person is being honest about their attacks too. That is like having someone say they understand what we go through when we get migraines, and inside themselves are saying 'yeah right'. It is simply called being a 'phony'... Nothing less, and nothing more.

Incidentally, these same people are the only people in the WWW that I would wish just one of my migraines, or anxiety attacks upon~ I do know that SURELY just ONE attack would shut them up in a big hurry!

Another friend has offered that maybe I should give up my Cherry Pepsi. And that is an excellent idea. I thought so as well, ~way back when~ and cut out any/all caffeine for almost a year. It changed neither my anxiety levels, nor did it offer any relief from my stupid head.

I do yoga, self-hypnosis (very successfully), biofeedback, and do get my fair share of exercise... (most days)... And yes, there are counselors out there who could help, but I have found that my own doctor, (giving up his lunch hours to do this for me), has provided to me the very best insight to so much. And he isn't afraid to add or to ask questions either as we go along... If I just wanted to hear myself talk, I would gladly go to a counselor.

And so, the best plan of attack is to confer with those of you, who by that awful chance have ever had this diagnosis, or have witnessed it in a very close friend, loved one, or family member... No books please, they were NOT written for me in the first place, and generally are written by people who are only writing 'second~hand' info anyway. Anyone with half a brain, and an intense desire to strike it rich by 'influencing people' could compile such information...

No thank you, I shall write my own book... (Later)...

The kids made it to Texas late last night and called to say they arrived safely! YAY! I was already asleep; but in checking my caller ID this morning, Jenne called here at 11:11pm. (That number arises again)!

Now, in my inbox this morning- a note from my Aunt. My uncle is going through his own cancer treatments, and will have his second one today... Please say a little prayer that all will be well at the end of his own treatment regimen. And yet, she is steadfastly keeping her own sense of humor- That is so badly needed when going through such a terrible thing; and most especially when things seem to be at their worst. He too has not lost his own sense of humor- When told he would be losing his hair as a side~effect of the chemo, he simply removed his hat and showed the dr. his balding head!

I also received a "Dialect Quiz" from her too!
I dare you to see how very accurate it applies to you!
What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Inland North

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

North Central
The Midland
The Northeast
The South
Philadelphia
The West
Boston
What American accent do you have?
Take More Quizzes

It nailed my own 'accent' pretty well!

I still find it amazing that everyone in the whole world claims that those of us in Wisconsin have an accent... How come all the TV shows movies and such are then MOST "dialected" toward our "accent" then???

Nope. No accents here!

And there are specific 'wordisms' too from any given geographical locale... I had to laugh when Jade was here the other night, and I had asked her if she wanted a 'pop'... (She looked at me as though I had lost my mind, until Jenne clarified that to her)! Although I forgot to ask her is she even knew then what a 'bubbler' was; I would be willing to bet that she does not! Do you?

Yes, we really DO have "bubblers" in NE Wisconsin!!!

I had better close for today and get busy once more- Maybe today I shall actually even 'find' my house- It is under this mess... somewhere!!!

Have a good one- (and one for me too)! hehehe

XOXO
Anne

I think the above pic is one of Salvadore Dali's paintings? It was just weird enough to use today...
