Good Afternoon Everyone!
Guess what?? It's snowing!
hehehe
.
?
This was taken on our way driving in last Sunday.
No, it is not a crooked picture,
just the snow that was so wind~driven.

Oh, I sure did hate those last 90 miles! Worse too, when there is a sheet of ice and freezing rain under the snow.
Oh wait, the roads are STILL like that...
I hear that Flintville got about a foot of snow, between Thirsday night and yesterday afternoon; with lots more coming tonight and tomorrow...
Poor Kelli beside herself, shoveling, taking care of the horses, and my place too. (Tim had recent back surgery otherwise could be out there too).
She even said she would try to dig out Casey's car (looking much like a Chevrolet Igloo now), and move it in the garage.

When he called Kelli to tell her to try to leave work early and how bad the roads were, he also told her that his trailer tried to pass him 4 times!
(I laughed myself silly over that one).
She said it took her an hour and a half just to get to work yesterday.
But they are both home, and safe, (and 'off' for the weekend); and that's what counts.
I am sure you are all wondering about Casey...

She is MUCHO better today!!!
Her urine began flowing quite well last night too. And what a worry that had been for us all.
But I will let you judge for yourself how she is doing...
Just check these out!
I shall do a "before and after" here for you...

I'd better close for now and head back up to the hospital. But I want to give Casey and Greg a lot of time together too, as he will have to be heading home tomorrow. Duty calls.
I imagine you are all busy with last minute details with your own preparations for Christmas.
I hope you aren't too busy to be reading this all.
Sorry, I do have a tendency to get a bit long winded at times. Hope you're not too busy to let me know you were here. hehehe
Know that Casey is doing remarkably well- Greg has just called; and Casey is now sitting in her chair!
If it is possible, she is 1000% better than yesterday.
Know too that Punk has been an absolute angel being left alone in this hotel room many times, and for many hours at a time.
Off her feed yesterday- probably feeding off my own emotions. But has eaten today; AND of course we have already played in the snow. Twice.
I did go to WalMart and get some winter skivvies, and some warmer socks too. Should be all set now.
Hope you are too! Be warm and safe. Know you are loved.
My love to all. And again, our most heartfelt thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers. They have worked wonders for Casey- and for myself too. Knowing there are people out there that care everso much means the world to us.
XOXO
Anne

One of you (PeachieBaby, I think), had asked about the leg circulation.

these have been on her,
working 24/7,

That nurse was SO fun and funny too.
We have had too many that do not have a sense of humor, let alone a bedside manner.
This man had it all.
You could tell he loved his work, and his patients also.
Credit where credit is due, everyone has been so nice, so far.
Of course I miss home.
Kelli assures me that Miss Milly is just fine, and will now be (another) inside dog.
Ruh~Roh. (Didn't bargain for that one). hehehe

YAY YUH!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, that does my heart good to see Casey actually 'UP' and somewhat mobile. I pray that this is the 'end' of all of her pain (and yours!!))
Take care my sweetfriend~all my best to ALL of you!!
That is wonderful news!!! Tell Miss Caseyface to be watching for mail. I didn't send a Christmas card but I think it will put a smile on her face. Keeping all in my thoughts and prayers....
ReplyDeleteMUCHO LOVE TO YOU ALL AND GOD BLESS!!!
WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat nurse is loving those gorgeous legs...
So glad to know that Casey is doing so much better...
Also glad to know that you do not have to be DRIVING in that snow... and hope it stops long enough for Greg to get home tomorrow.
Sooo much good news!!
ReplyDeleteI had tears in my eyes as I was reading this because it's something we've all been waiting, and wishing, and praying for, for so long now.
I can hardly believe Casey is already out of bed and doing so well.
YEA CASEY - you show em how it's done!!
Maybe her speedy recovery will result in less hospital time? (Adding that to the prayer list now!)
I'm glad Punk has started eating again (yes they ARE so sensitive to what we're feeling!). And how about you Miss Annie? Did those spots you were seeing turn into a migraine? I sure hope not, but with all the stress you've been under these past few days I wouldn't be surprised.
Looking forward to updates with more good news! Hugs to all. (And BTW Casey, just because you're doing so well does NOT mean you can add Jack Daniels to your egg nog!! Ho-Ho-Ho!!)
EEEEEEHAAAAAAWWWW !!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that Casey is doing so well!
My heart just flies when I hear that as I assume yours does too!
God Bless you all !
Much love oxoxox
So wonderful to hear a nd see that Casey if feeling and looking better...so many prayers coming her way
ReplyDeleteHiya Rock! Oh my goodness! Its so good to see her beautiful smile.. Is that a black eye or two?
ReplyDeleteDid ya pick up some red socks?
Good nurses with a smile and a sense of humor are so very important to those trying to recover, Im very glad she has some good ones.
Im very glad to hear they are getting her into a chair.. that is wonderful news!
Many hugs and thoughts your way!

everyone looks so happy and healthy...yahoooeee!! so nice to see the big difference in the before and after!Wow!!
ReplyDeleteSo good to see Casey looking less like the Pillsbury Doughgirl and more like the Casey we are use to seeing. Glad that swelling is going down.
ReplyDeleteYes....that was me asking about the circulation things on the legs. My daughters friend that was involved in that four-wheeler accident a few years back had a severe head injury and concussion. They put those on her and she hated it. Hers were inflatable and it would inflate and deflate every so many minutes. She said it annoyed her. But they worry about blood clots in the legs when you can't get up and about much. How did Casey deal with them?
Punk must sense that things are going better. Dogs have mental connections to those they love.
You be careful trekking around in that snow and ice. I'll be back later to check on things here.
Tell Casey and Greg I said Hello!
Sweet Thers!
ReplyDeleteI am already back- The roads are almost gone, Casey was darned tired, and then I broke my windshield wiper in two. (Good thing I told Casey I would come back when I could).
Doesn't she look good?
So cool to be able to see her eyes!
Love to you
XOXO
Me
ReplyDeletehehehe
Sweet Pam;
I shall tell her! She will be happy to be getting anything! (That always makes a body feel better)!
The smile on her face will be great too!
XOXO

Sweet Splat!
ReplyDeleteWoot is right!!!!
Now about the driving... It is about a mile to the hospital. Going to seem longer if Greg can't get to a car parts place if I have to walk it.
Good think I bought some new winter unders.
Greg is thinking about leaving on Monday instead- He is off anyway, and better to be safe than sorry.
Love to you!
XOXO
Me
Sweet RT!
ReplyDeleteI am so afraid to ask for anything more...
But yes, I sure hope that is exactly what it might mean!
I honestly did not expect her to be looking so well this morning! And what a huge sigh of relief and pride too.
The spots did not turn to anything bad. The pills worked fine enough and then sleep came real good to me too. (THAT was a welcome added bonus for me).
I figured at the very least that Punk would have woken me earlier- But then she hadn't really eaten so I guess she didn't have to go outside- Funny how that works?!?!
Casey cannot drink Jack because she is diabetic until those Islet Cells take hold and work.
And that could be six months to a year. But worth the wait if they work, right?
Love to you!
XOXO
Me
ReplyDeleteSweet Bug!
I felt as though I had been holding my breath for the last month or so.
So seeing her eyes so wide open today, and even a smile was more than I even hoped for!
Love to you too!

Im so happy Casey in doing so well, praise be to God! prayers still going out for her speedy recovery. hugs
ReplyDeleteSweet Beep!
ReplyDeleteI think she doesn't have black eyes as much as she is just SO very tired.
One time at Froedtert they didn't listen and had used paper tape for one of her surgeries to hold her eyes closed.
She woke with hives from her eyebrows down to her cheeks.
Now for the red socks... I forgot mine at home!
Love to you both!

Sweet Bobbie!
ReplyDeleteWe were all happy when the NG tube came out.
The nurse tried to shoo me out, but I wasn't budging! hehehe
But now only to get the central line out- (That will be a while yet), and the catheter, and she will just keep on feeling better.
Love to you
XOXO
Me
She looks fantastic! I tell you, those pictures of her right after the surgery had me terribly worried. BUT NOW!! Just look at my little pin cushion! And to see her sitting up already (and helping with the leg wraps~which I really liked those when I had my surgery...relaxing!!)
ReplyDeleteAnyhoo~~~get some rest!! Take care my sweet friend! Ah, I cannot tell you the joy I feel for Miss CaseyFace (and I cannot imagine how you feel right now!!)
All my love and prayers!!
Thers
Sweet PeachieBaby!
ReplyDeleteI just kept squeezing her little knuckles today-
Still a bit puffy, but OH so much better than before.
(I was so frightened by that all).
Casey has worn those leggings many times. Hers are constantly inflating and deflating.
But never a complaint about them.
I think once you get used to it, it's just one of those things.
Now when I was in labor, those damn belts drove me nuts.
I HATED THEM!
The only one I kept them on with was Roberta, and that because she was 7 1/2 weeks early.
Frightening then too.
Love to you!
And to thank you for the postings on Caseys surgery, and her progress too!
XOXO
me
Sweet WyckieBaby!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to see you here!
Now stop crying- I have done enough of that for ten lifetimes anyway.
I am so amazed still, the difference one day made for her!
"I" am the best? I didn't DO anything...
Love to you. DO come back more often?
Pretty please?
XOXO

Sweet Pamela!

ReplyDeleteSweet Thers;
Casey had me terribly worried!
Oh I plan on resting in just a few minutes- I shall close the window, open the blinds, and just watch the traffic crawl down University Avenue.
I do feel good. Tired. But very very good.

So glad to see Casey is doing and feeling better! She looks a lot better in the second pictures!! Loved the snow pictures too! Loved the action shots with them!! What a cute one of the dogs too! I sure hope your Sunday will be great! Hugs
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteSweet Sheri!
If Sunday is only 1/2 of the goodness that today was it will be a great day!
Snow makes for great pictures- Nasty driving though. hehehe

Casey does look so much better and I bet she was happy to get it out. Love and hugs to both of you!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you and Casey and Greg and the rest of the family (that includes the multiply family). Now we can pray for a quick and complete recovery. Dawn says yahoo too.
ReplyDeleteHugs:)
ReplyDeleteSO HAPPY to hear she is 1000 times better! Nice hat BTW!
ReplyDeleteGet some rest dear friend!!! You deserve some sleep. Are you staying at the hospital with Casey tonight or at the hotel? Either way, eat your little salad and close those little weary eyes and get some sleep.
ReplyDeleteI see a little twinkle in Casey's eyes, it's good to see. Yes I agree with khoolaid "Now we can pray for a quick and complete recovery" And what a wonderful Christmas gift for all...prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteChecking for anymore updates before going to bed. Catch you tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteCasey is looking good again!
Sweet LynnAnn;
ReplyDeleteI have had a few surgeries in my life, but have never had one of those tubes either.
She said it was uncomfortable, but not bad either.
Hmmm.... Too bad the same can't be said for the weather here.
Was just out with Punk. We didn't last long either.
Love to you
XOXO
Me
Mr. KhoolMan!
ReplyDeleteAnd I never thought that a bit of pee could make me happy. (The things we take for granted, eh)?
I can't wait to get back up there today-
I have decided that windshield wiper or not, I am going.
hehehe
Kind of reminds me of my younger winters in Wisconsin!
Glad you told Miss Dawnie~Doo.
Love to you both

ReplyDeleteDon't pick on my hat.
Kelli got that for me- And I forgot my other one farmside.
(Had I known how cold it would be here, I would have forgotten it on purpose too).
It is one of those that you can pull down over your face and cover everything but your eyes.
AND it is very warm.
Here is our weather here as I type.

ReplyDeleteSweet Pam;
Had a bit of a problem falling to sleep (Next time I will have a turkey salad so I can fall right to sleep).
Casey has a roommate there, otherwise Greg would stay there.
I stayed at the hotel- Kind of have to with Punk and all; even if she is being so good.
hehehe

Sweet Deb!
ReplyDelete...And we know that "twinkle" quite well too!
I am sorry that you couldn't have gone with us- The weather changed right in Menominee, so you wouldn't have had any weather problems if you had gotten out then. hehehe
Hope all is well in Green Bay. (Are you enjoying all that snow)?
Love to you
XOXO
Anne
PS
I am almost afraid to pray for more...
Yeah. She really IS kinda cute, isn't she?!?!
ReplyDeleteThink I'll keep her.

The best Christmas gift ever for Casey and of course to her ever loving mom..YOU!
ReplyDeleteGod Bless you all and have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I was here last night but got distracted and never commented. (I know, knock me upside the head, lol)
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing the improvement you can already see. I am so excited for her.
We visited the lights at Clifton Mill last night and I got a reminder of Casey.
Now, I know she didnt have cancer but to see anything about a pancreas at a light show was taken as a reminder to pray for your girl :)
I do hope today brings a bunch more joy and recovery.
Sorry that came out so big...whoops!
ReplyDeleteJust checking in for any kind of update. Sorry you didn't get much sleep last night. I'm sure it's because of all the hustle and bustle of things going on there. Hope you get a wee bit of a nap today.
ReplyDeleteI wonder.....once Casey is on the mend, does this hospital allow animal visitors? Ya know they have proven that patients heal faster when they get visits from our little furry friends. Ya might wanna check that one out though I know it may be a while before they would even entertain that thought. Just an idea!!! I know how much Casey loves the Punkster!
You ARE the best Anne..you've been Caseys rock and yes I know you're her Mommie and are supposed to do everything you do, but you've been fantastic..It's taken a lot out of you and we all know this, but you keep going and going through it all AND with that sweet smile on your face..Give everyone lots of loves and mushy kisses from me ok???..and yes, the "furkiddos" too!!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI have an idea!!!! Miss Anna, post just a pic of beautiful Christmas tree so we can all leave gifts of love and support for you, Casey and all the family!!! That would be fun and maybe when you are able to show Casey, it will put a HUGE smile on her face. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteCasey looks so much better than the pictures yesterday!! I am so glad she is up and feeling so much better already. Prayers for a speedy recovery and a safe trip home for Greg.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteJust a few words to keep you all informed.
Casey was up for a walk this morning-
BUT, will be needing a transfusion shortly, as her red blood count is quite low...
Prayers?
Love to all.
XOXO
Anne
My prayers are with her!
ReplyDeleteflintville saidAnd I never thought that a bit of pee could make me happy. (The things we take for granted, eh)?I have had a kidney stone and the story I could tell about doing the happy dance over a pee would put a smile on your face and giggle in your tummy.
ReplyDeleteCasey looks absolutely wonderful, considering it's only been a few days since her surgery.
ReplyDeleteShe is SO AMAZING! And yes, I saw that twinkle in her eyes too! That's our girl!
I've been excited about having my pee back before too! hehehe (kidney stone)
Some things, you DO take for granted, that you would never give a second thought about.
I think that Christmas tree idea doubtfire mentioned is a good idea... I thought about that too.
You should do that, it would be fun and would brighten Casey's face up! If Casey can't be home
for Christmas, then we all can bring home and Christmas to her!
Putting in that prayer request you asked for.
She's always in my thoughts and prayers,
but saying an extra special one today.
Much love to you and Casey~ Susan XOXOXO
Transfusing positive thoughts to Casey right now!!
ReplyDelete(Casey - I know you're feeling much better sweetie, but quite showing off and get back into bed!!)

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy she is doing 1000% better today. I can't believe she is trying to move about already. She has you spirit.
ReplyDeleteI am not envious of your snow. I am feeling pretty lucky right now. lol. We are just really cold right now. Give Punk a hug from us for being such a good girl. I am proud. There is no way I could do that with Charlie.
We are continuing to pray and are keeping you all in our thoughts as well. Please be careful. Lots of love!
Prayers continue...
ReplyDeleteShe looks so good in those pictures! Thank you so much for keeping us all updated.
Our weather here is quite wicked as well. Please be safe in your journeys back and forth.
Much love to Casey!
Chevy
It's been a little while since I had a chance to get over to your site. Glad I did! So happy things are going so well for Casey! I'll be praying for her fast recovery. And be very careful on those roads in your daily travels - our weather is brutal too!
ReplyDeleteTrillions of prayers are coming your way xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh, I am so glad things are going so well!! I will keep praying, and watching for updates when I can. Thanks Anne!
ReplyDeleteHappy dance....Happy dance! Anne...she is doing so well. I am glad to hear it. Can you put a tiny teeny weeny little Christmas tree in her room? Probably not because it aint too sterile. When will she be able to leave a sterile environment? Surely they have a tree somewhere on that floor.
ReplyDeleteSend her my love. And I will put a tree on her page for her.
YYYAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! See God hears prayers. Lots of Love.
ReplyDeleteWhat's with your hair?
This is such great news! Great to see her looking like she is feeling better. Prayers will still continue for you all. Stay warm!!!
ReplyDeleteStopping by to see if there's any new news. I hope Casey's red blood cell count has come up since yesterday. Did she need the transfusion?
ReplyDeleteAnne,
ReplyDeletePLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT pray for anymore snow we are having a White Christmas, I've seen enough, had enough, and prayed that mom not send any more snow!!! (She would pray for blizzards that would stop all life in Wisconsin, she loved to be snowed in for days...when she died it stormed for 6 days, I was late for her wake, by 2 hours, it took 11 hours to go frome Menomonie to Green Bay by bus) so stop praying for more snow!!!! Think Spring, Think Spring!!
I guess my choice to saty here was good My girlfriend is out of state visiting her grandchildren, I'd been out in a snow bank! or staying in the movie theatre on that sticky floor!! hehehehe
Anne,
ReplyDeletei am so happy to hear that Casey is doing better. i don't know if she remembers my call but she was so uncomfortable we cut it short.. i feel so bad for her. i will talk to you tonight, BEFORE the packer game... hahahha!
love you both,
k
