From my email came this from my son in law, William
..."Hey that was a prairie rattlesnake and no they are not endangered. She probably got it in a planter or bushes, or some plants that she has just bought. That happens a lot down here. Especially plants coming up out of FL. But most of ours are little pygmy rattlesnakes no more than 18 to 26 inches long. Lawrence named it off when he first saw it. He loves his snakes. Love you." ________
