At first I thought oh people who are worried about the Mayan Calendar wouldn't be able to get hold of you them I realized I won't be able to keep in touch with you either. I feel like we became friends on the other site then you gave me this one. I hope ee van remain in contact, I have come to value our friendship and would miss our interactions and be crazy wondering how you and Casey are doing. I would also miss your blogs, your writing is so inspiring.
ReplyDeleteI will continue praying for her and you, as always, only LOUDER!!!! I love you both and would never want either
ReplyDeleteone of you to be sick, but I guess all I can do is give it to the Lord and hope for the best. I keep doing that for

ReplyDeleteOMG I will be thinking of Casey for sure Anna, also the loving family that surounds her.
ReplyDeleteThere was a lot of scary reading in that lot of links my friend.
Hi Annie,
ReplyDeleteJust checking in to see if there were any updates on Casey....
Still praying for her....
Lots of love for you both XOXOXOXO
I don't know where Anne is....
ReplyDeleteCasey said, the biopsy came back clear. They think it was just fatty liver but that should not have caused the pain she was in so they are going to see if the doc recommends additional testing. She will know more in a few days.
She says she is doing good, hanging in there,
Thanks Deeanne....
ReplyDeletePlease let me know if you hear from Annie if we haven't from here yet?
Hope they find out what's causing Casey's pain....
Thoughts and prayers for Casey and Annie
Will do. Or even if I hear an update on her from Casey....
ReplyDeleteYes, please keep us informed...Sending healing thoughts...hugs dear friend.. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you very much
ReplyDeleteSorry. Sorry. Sorry. All;
ReplyDeleteI am happy that Sweet Pea has posted a bit of an update about Casey.
She is OK. We hope.
First, it was fatty liver.
Then 2 docs say it is not because it would look different, and show up fine on the CAT Scan.
Now it is fatty liver? Again.
**sigh*
I am guessing that THEY are guessing.
But I did hear from another chronic pancreatitis patient- and friend of mine...

She writes:
Dear Ann: sorry to hear about Casey's liver; I have had extensive liver work ups since 2008, due to my ongoing cholangitis infections.
Here is what I have learned: a liver biopsy is very non-specific; it is like looking for a needle in a haystack to find something, as it takes a very tiny section of tissue from the liver, which has two lobes.
I found that the balloon cholangiogram and EUS, which lit up my 'BILIARY TREE" was more useful.
But you should send the "tissue block" from the liver biopsy to several tertiary centers; my last choice would be U of Minn. due to institutional bias.
I sent my biopsy to no less than 3 institutions; UCI Medical Center; USC Pathology; local pathology at performing hospital; and then to U of Minn; who inexplicably enough were the only ones that found it "normal" (they really did not have enough tissue-due to exhaustion of the tissue block).
What we learned is that unless the institution's liver pathologist knows the patient history, you are very likely to get an "over-read."
A thrombosed venule, common with transplant patients, can look like secondary sclerosing cholangitis, to the uninformed reviewer.
Bottom line, we TP/IAT patients almost always have abnormal looking CT scans; could possibly be errant escaped islet cells in the liver, as well.

Robin is very bright, and has helped me through LOTS where Casey is concerned.
She lives in California... and
So yeah- That's all we know for now.

PS
I have been battling mowing, a throbbing headache (for days), and my damned mouth full of pain.
My apologies for not writing (back) sooner.
Thanks for the update, Annie....
ReplyDeleteHope they figure out what's causing her pain....
Have you tried taking vitamin B12 for your headaches?....
You know what struggles I go through with my migraines....
I have been taking that for some time now, and haven't had but maybe 3 migraines in a year....
Rarely get "normal" headaches anymore....
It's helped me a lot!....
Just a thought....
Prayers and love for you and sweet Casey XOXOXOXO
As soon as you define "normal" then I will reply! hehehe
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Me
PS
Yes, I tried it.
Once upon a time Mama had read an article that said to put a banana peel on your head.
(It didn't work of course; but I never did figure out where the fruit fly went that I inhaled).
I really don't know what a "normal" headache is....
ReplyDeleteReason for the " " ....
I just know that I get mild pain in my head once in a great while....
I guess it isn't great if I have a headache lol....
I always had MONSTEROUS MIGRAINES....
They incapacitated me majority of the time....
So bad, was like having a stroke....
Thanks the good Lord above I haven't been having those for almost 2 years now!!!!....
I tried the banana thing, you mentioned it before....
All it did was make me try to lick my forehead he he he he....

Giggling right now....
Did you take the vitamin form? In the pill form?
Or did you just want to attract fruit flies? he he he he
Anytime, no problem. Figured you were broken again when you weren't around..
ReplyDeletetalked to Casey a bit this morning too. She is bummed that they have decided this is "normal" and yet she is in pain. They are not going to take any more action unless something changes with follow up next year.
We talked a bit about her recent physicals and blood work results. Her potassium is a little low and since THAT can cause nausea and pain in the GI I suggested that maybe she might want to try taking her supplement again that she had.
She is going to try that for a few days and see how she feels.
