[My] Life in Wisconsin

A Few Words For Sunday...

Good Sunday Morning!
I have been reading and thinking; reading more, thinking more... And am hoping that you have all had a chance to get over to Casey~Face's Blog entry about her diagnosis.

>CLICK HERE< for her news; (or click on her name also).

I am happy that we are home; and have been trying now to get my attached garage cleaned out a bit. Doing this only guarantees that the shed will be messier though. hehehe But that's OK too. I shall get to that one shortly enough. It is so much easier to be working outside when the temps are in the high 60's and lower 70's... Yes, I do love this weather!

I know too that I have much more catching up to do on here. Not only in YOUR blogs, but in my own as well.

(Can you stand another picture from Labor Day)?

.

.

Master Gabriel and Miss Punk exchanged a bit of love...

.

.

.

And then came more worrying about medical tests... (and how much pain they would put KC in all over again; and for what?)...

Her tests were early Friday morning. She was ill already. The nurse said it would take 3-4 hours to complete. I asked for the direct line to that department, and she gave it to me. I made a few phone calls to friends and relatives while I sat in one of the lobbies at the hospital... And then left, to go collect our little things from the hotel...

Arriving at the hotel, my cell phone rang. Seeing that it was a Froedtert number, I honestly felt my heart stop...

...It was Casey. She was ready to be picked up. And yes, they had finished what they needed in about 45 minutes. (I don't think I have ever packed up a hotel room so fast in my life)! hehehe

.

.

Even The Punk was worried...
.
and yes, dogs DO know our emotions, even if they cannot know the rest of it all.

.

.

Some of you know this already, (and I really don't mean to be boring you), but after KC's tests, we headed home to await her diagnosis. Getting about halfway back, she experienced MAJOR pain (in yet a new place). Since I still had that direct phone number, she easily got a hold of the doctor that had done her tests.

(It was a horse~apiece as to whether we would turn and go back to Froedtert, or continue home)...

.

.

Bored, in the back of the Rendezvous...

,

,

We continued home, and in record time, I had her at the clinic in town... She still has pain, but like I said in my comments on KC's blog, we will await to hear back from her surgeons as to the specific diagnosis, and the protocol for dealing with it all.

.

.

After seeing her doctor up here, (and since she had taken some pain pills); Roberta said she would bring her friend Jessica out, and that they would get Casey, and her car, over to Dereks.

Good to see them too!

.

.

As Gabriel immediately heads over to the dogs...

.

.

Miss Milly happy to see everyone also!
.
(Yes, she CAN be a bit stuck~up)!
.
.
Miss Jessica hamming it up for the camera too!
.
.
Casey not hamming anything up at that point, just feeling awful...
.

But they got Casey, (and her car), over to Dereks without any problems. She will be here right after mass now.

.

And there are promises of better days ahead...

Lordy, I am LATE! I have heard the war planes pass over 4 times, signaling the start of the Packer Game, and it is high time for me to go connect with my television!!! (Miss Punk does NOT like the Air Force one little bit; too noisy for her, and she lays at my feet, shaking a bit with each pass)...

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

XOXO
Anne

.

.

Short/No Blog This Morning!?

hehehe

Good Morning All;

I will be leaving here shortly to get to Froedtert... Have to take the dog out yet, and to (re)pack our little things...

Traffic sounds horrendous.

Big city traffic; (me no likey)!

Caseys nice little Dell Laptop computer seems to be MORE than a bit possessed, so will try to take care of this thing when we get back to Flintville! (Maybe I should just throw it in the river)?

Yes CaseyAnne, if it had a backside I would kick it for you!

Love to All! And have a "wunnaful" weekend! I will write more later!!!

XOXO
Anne

Spittin' Nails...

Good Morning All;

I am no better today with respect to either my migraine or my attitude... So maybe just bear with me. Pretty please?

On the bright side, (and quite thankfully), BOTH attitude and headaches seem to improve with time. Well, at least neither have killed me yet... hehehe ?!?

A warm thank you too, to both Connie and WYCK who I see have left their words of love for Baby Mariah and her family. (Please see my blast; this ONLY takes but a few seconds of your time)... Sadly, the next child with cancer could well be your own.

Casey and I are headed back down to Milwaukee (Froedtert), later this morning. Caseys surgeons have called, and the biopsies that they had taken (BEFORE she had woken from her sedation) were all negative. She will be undergoing more tests on her insides now.

...And I am SO ready to scream... (Just don't know at whom anymore).

I had my Good Morning Show on earlier, and they had reported that Governor Doyle now has a plan to get kids into college. He is having 8th and 9th grade kids sign a thing to say that they will maintain a "B" average throughout their high school years. In exchange for doing so, he will guarantee that they will have a place within the UW~System.

Ummm... Yeah, right.

I sure hope these kids are either blind or alcoholic; because DAMN, if they get truly sick they WILL be asked to leave.

Don't know what's going on? Please >CLICK HERE< for that story.

Bunch of garbage.

Oh, he might pull them in, but keeping them will be a whole 'nother story should they chance to have a REAL illness.

(Yes, I have already shot off a note to the news station about this all too).

So... What's your "take" on this?

Do you really think I should be on the road with this attitude? hehehe

Or do you think I should just take a swing by the governors mansion or the capitol in Madison and start hollering at him?

Time for me to fly! Hope you all have a grand Thursday!

XOXO
Anne

A Completely Pilfered Blog...

Good Morning All;

It is the middle of the night here. I have been wandering aimlessly through my own little cyberworld, (and yours); battling my head, (and of course I have my sunglasses on at 1:15 in the AM)...

And so, (with permission), I have stolen this blog, almost in its entirety.

This, from my friend ...m... >CLICK HERE< for his own blog.

The Belle Epoche --

A young lad of 13 named Marcel Proust was asked some questions as l'amusement de soiree, pour l'anniversaire de Mlle. Antoinette Felix-Faure.

In her birthday book, the questions read:

 1. what is your idea of perfect happiness?
 2. what is your greatest fear?
 3. which historical figure do you most identify with?
 4. which living person do you most admire?
 5. what is the trait that you most deplore in yourself?
 6. what is the trait that you most deplore in others?
 7. what is your greatest extravagance?
 8. what is your favorite journey?
 9. On what occasion do you lie?
 10. what do you dislike most about your appearance?
 11. which living person do you most despise?
 12. what is your greatest regret?
 13. what or who is the greatest love of your life?
 14. when and where were you the happiest?
 15. if you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
 16. what do you consider your greatest achievement?
 17. if you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what do you think it would be?
 18. what is your most treasured possession?
 19. what is your most marked characteristic?
 20. what do you most value in your friends?
 21. who are your favorite writers?
 22. who is your favorite hero of fiction?
 23. who are your heroes in real life?
 24. what is it that you most dislike?
 25. what is your motto?

Proust's responses then (and again at another party he attended at age 20) gave him status as a "genious" thinker among those of his day even though he revealed that he was sincerely a "mama's boy."

As recently as July of 1996, Graydon Carter and his Senior Editor Amiee Bell decided to feature celebrity responses in the same format in Conde Nast's VanityFair magazine: www.vanityfair.com and the format also appears with Bravo's "Inside the Actor's Studio" hosted by James Lipton and liberally parodied by The Simpsons: http://www.bravotv.com/Inside_the_Actors_Studio

I offer this as a different form of the "tag" stuff that permeates the blogosphere (and Yahoo 360, specifically).

Please ignore, nip, tuck, segment, paste and/or respond wholly or in part, as you desire.

Take your time. (Proust himself didn't complete the entire list for seven years).

For more info on Marcel Proust, please note the book, "Proust: Portrait of a Genious" by Andre Maurois.

Thank you ...m...

I hope yourself, and everyone else too, is having a "wunnaful" Wednesday. I am going to try to get some sleep for now...

XOXO
Anne

A Labor "Day" of Love!

Good Tuesday Morning to All;

With this last breath of summer blowing our way, there are a few pics to share...

The one at the top, me, exhausted but 'done' with the outside preps for the most part. (I don't know what I would have done without Roberta and CaseyAnne who have been here at every spare moment to help me out)...

.

.

Cnv0711..........Cnv0699
Taken the night before...
...As they BOTH are appreciating the end of a very long workday here.

.

.

And of course Master Gabriel was wondering WHEN the grilling would begin??

.

.

He was ever SO hungry; (even at 10 o'clock in the morning)!
Miss Brandy behind him, as she had stopped in on the way to get some of her own shopping done, and to pick up her cousin too... Maybe to return in the afternoon.

.

.

Pa taught me well, (as Labor Days go anyway), to light the fire. And so it was high time to be getting the meat on. Roberta was chief cook yesterday, making her way through 10 pounds of (REAL) weiners, two packages of bratwurst (that had been first boiled in beer). Mmmm... Then 20 pounds of burger, and a few little hot dogs that the littler kids all appreciated.

.

.

A hot job for Berta, sitting in front of the fire; 83 degrees, and barely a breeze...
(My kettle of beans on the fire now, as Caseys beer butt chicken needed the oven).
.

.

.

They looked perfect, (even if we DID forget about them in the oven)! hehehe
Soup to come later with the leftover 'bird'...

.

.

And that soup might be a good thing for Miss Casey. She had an awful start to her day. Much piercing pain, and vomiting too. Derek came out quickly, bringing her dilaudid for her pain. (While it helps more than even 2 vicoden, she still fought the pain and nausea all day). AND yes, she did eat a bit. (She especially loves my beans, (and ate many of those critters)! hehehe

.

.

.

Derek was HAPPILY the first to grab a plate!
.
.
Attracting a small following of beggars and not so subtle thieves too...
.
"Gimme Gimme" "Woof~Woof" "Gimme Gimme" "Woof~Woof"
DROOL !!!!

.

.

I promise to get everyones pics on here at some point. (But if I did that today, the blog would be much too long).

.

.

.

Taking it easy after Roberta, Randy and Derek had dug out an old stump...

.

.

I took it easy afterward too, Master Gabriel on my lap (after his nap);
...and with Miss Punk almost completely worn out too!

.

.

Later, Casey had left with Miss Kelli to collect the horses and to get a ride through the woods and back home here.

.

.

By this time, Punk was already inside taking her nap.
That nap, rudely interrupted by Mama Milly NOT appreciating the 2 horses.

.

Milly would NOT quiet down for love or money, but a bit of water sprayed on her kennel brought peace to the world... (for a while anyway).

.

.

Randy, Kelli and Casey; with May and Breeze
(Where are these horses when I need my lawn cut)????

.

More to come later Folks... I have a doctor appointment this morning to check my thyroid; maybe I shall find out why I am so bloody tired all the time. I am hoping my new glasses have come in too. ~~While at the dentists office last week, the frame had broken... I needed no dentist care that day. (Yay). But surely I needed a new frame for my lenses. Why does it seem that everything is always discontinued when I need replacement for something? Gee, just lucky like that I suppose. hehehe But I did order up the frames (pieces) that I could from the backstock, so when/IF this happens again, I will have my own inventory to pick from... hehehe

Hope you all had a grand Labor Day. And that you shall be enjoying this short week also. Good Luck to all the kids around here that finally go back to school today too!

XOXO
Anne

Labor Day

Good Morning!

I am going to 'cheat' this morning... and do a bit of copying and pasting for you...

From Yahoo Answers (on our 360), Miss Suzi asks what Labor Day means to each of us?

So do I...

Here is her entry on it. and her own perceptions. >CLICK HERE< (I thought I would use orange, just because)... hehehe

Clicking on a few of her links, I did find the "history" of Labor Day. To know more about this special day for us, >CLICK HERE< (But yes, I do think Suzis questions are better than the answers found here, as this is only ONE point of view... the origins)...

You all know what it means to me! (Because that is ALL I can talk about "until")... And yes, my famous beans are in the oven!!! Mmmm....

Be safe. Have fun!

And DO let me know what it means to you, and what you are doing for this day...

XOXO
Anne

Danged KIDSZ?

Coffee.
Can you smell it?

Good Morning All;

As I sat back here, reading in relative quiet (save for the occasional car and the pealing church bells); I happened to hear Miss Punk (quiet herself)... But out in the kitchen~

It is one of those noises one becomes accustomed to, (like living next to the railroad tracks)...

I figured she was going to eat her own breakfast, since we both slept until almost 8 this morning! hehehe That is WAY rare. (Kinda like how I like my steaks done).

Suddenly I hear this resounding "CRASH" ...

Within a nanosecond of that, Miss Punk shoots under my desk, and is wrapped securely around my footstool... with one eyeball looking up at me...

(As if to say, "I was here all the time, don't you KNOW that?") ???

I go to the kitchen.

Caseys leftover coffee from yesterday is spilled all over the floor and soaking into my rug. I scrubbed the floor a bit, soaking up the flavored cream, the sugars, and the tan river that was flowing east by southeast.

All this was going to wait til AFTER the picnic. (I mean, what exactly, would be the point in scrubbing BEFORE all these friends and family come walking through the house on Labor Day)???

God must have had other plans...

Oh well.

Have a "wunnaful" Sunday!!! (I've got a rug to scrub). hehehe

XOXO
Anne

Happy September!

Good Morning Everyone!!!

I am still laughing at the above picture...

Seems as Punkin does NOT like the gliders when they fly over. hehehe

Seeing it come from back by the woods, fly over, and back again; the poor dog was so upset she stained her face, her legs, and her shoulders just trying to keep up!

.

.

Her underbelly matches...

.

She tore off through the fields, and tried to chase it off!

.

.

.

Had to come back as it flew over...
(Mama Milly just trying to keep up)...

.

.

(That is, AFTER Milly had found some mulberries to roll in)...

.

.

"Green" chases "Purple"...

.

.

.

It really was hilarious! Those dogs shot straight into the fields, (thick with weeds as they are), and just went crazy. Can anyone say "corneal abrasion"? But both are fine...

We were busy all day! And I had SO much help too.

Casey and Roberta BOTH out to pitch in...

.

.

Roberta 'manned' the pruners...

.

.

Learning quickly NEVER to take her eyes off the tree while she is cutting!
(Even if Mama says "hey" as she takes a picture)...

.

.

While Casey struggled to "find" my sidewalk with the trimmer!

.

.

I tried to clean up a bit behind them. And hung out my rugs to freshen them up on the line...

.

Does this rug make my butt look fat?

..

..

Mostly I mowed the lawns... Not having a single problem either; UNTIL I broke the deck that is...

Danged CUB CADET!!!! (I will be repairing that this morning... I am far from being done with the mowing). I might have cussed a bit...

And it couldn't have happened while I was mowing up top. No, it had to wait 'til I had used up almost the last of my gasoline going back down the trail to the woods.

I might still be upset... Thank Heavens that glider came along when it did!

Hope you all have a grand weekend!

...And for those of you close enough; C'mon and have a hot dog with us on Monday afternoon!!!

And for those of you NOT within driving distance, just let me know what time your flight arrives!

Love to ya!
XOXO
Anne

ARF!

ARF!!!

Translation: "I am SO abused."

ARF !

Translation: "Good Morning All!"

As you all well know I am the most abused dog ever! (And I see now that "SHE" has even dared to blog about it)...

The fact is that whenever someone comes by the car and I'm in it alone, I get kinda protective of it all. (My 'she' and the little one were in the big place where the little one always seems to leave parts of herself).

Some people came by the car that day, and I GRRRRowled at them. Then a cute little kid came by, and I smiled at that one!

Then a WHOLE BUNCH of guys came by and tried to pet me through the windows. They seemed nice enough, so I just smiled at them, (wagged my tail too), and watched them just try to stick their hands in the car. 'She' didn't leave the window open big enough for them so I couldn't have that much fun...

All of a sudden, my she was running out to me. (And she said a bad word too). But the men said they were just making sure I was alright... And then they ALL went back inside that big place.

.

I had to take care of the little one before she went to that place.
.
.
.
And I thought she was playing "Hide~n~Seek"...
.
but I always found her too...
.
.
.
.In here!!!
.
.
.
.

ANYWAY, I have a few problems at home. Maybe you can help me with them?

..

You might know already, but THIS here is my Mama...

.

.

She looks nice (mostly); but she gets me into ALL kinds of trouble too.

Like the day my 'she' brought my little monkey outside, and my Mama decided she wanted it all for herself. (This was mean of Mama cuz she has all kinds of toys of her very own). She grabbed it from me, but I didn't want her to have it either...

.

..

Mama Milly cheats by laying down...

.

.

.

So we kinda fought over it...

..

.

.

And in the end, it was sort of really sad to see my very bestest monkey friend just laying there...

...AND Very completely DEAD!

.

.

.....And in TWO pieces!!!!!

.

.

Guess we couldn't put "Monkey~Dumpty" together again...
.
.
(My she said MAYBE she'd get me a new one)!
.
.

After that, my mama told me to bury it; (and she even told me WHERE to go)!

I found Mama's dirty old squeak ball. (Now I know where she hides her own stuff)!

I wasn't too sure about the digging though.

I mean, I didn't want to, (but Mama MADE me do it).

.

.

And then I got hollered at!!!
???
I tried to tell her that Mama made me do it...
.
.
But I'm still the one that had to "Go Sit Down"...
.
.
(I didn't really mind cuz I went and sat in the shade)!
.
.

.

.

.

This is ME too...

.

.

Sometimes I can look like my daddy...

.

.

And sometimes not so much...

.

But I am ALWAYS a very BRAVE dog!!!
Well, 'cept when I'm not...

.

...But the big noisy truck had just gone by too...
(And I don't like them)!

.

.

.

And I don't like that big noisy thing that takes all the grass away from the field across the road either...

.

It is REALLY loud, and they keep driving around in circles too.

.

.

So I come in the house and sit by my Sponge~Bob Buddy.

.

.

And then yesterday I get hollered at because the migrants are stealing all the squash and the pumpkins out of the fields... This is not right! So I barked and barked, (and held my ground); snarling too...

The little one finally hears me; comes and tells me "NO!" And then I get in trouble AGAIN! The little one told me that they are supposed to do that... (I don't care what she says, it still seems wrong to me).

.

.

My 'she' says she has lots to do today... And she has to go dig a new fire~pit in a different place. I know what THAT means. They are going to have me watch the burgers again!!! (I like that job).

She said something about trimming branches too. Roberta and the little boy are coming. Casey and Roberta can get things started that my 'she' can't. They will help her lots.

I'd better go for now. She is taking the garbage out today, and that means that darned truck will come by again...

Pray for me, OK? I get so scared. (Just don't tell anyone else ok)?

Love to ya!

My biggest ARF! to you all!

XOXO
Punk
