They Were MORE than Amazing. My MAYDAY!

Good Morning All;
Thoughts from a blogging universe that has been neglected by me for ever so long. My most sincere apologies to those of you loyal friends and followers I once had on here.
Hope all is well with each of you; and that somehow you do make it back to my posts.

It has taken me some while to write this- On Sunday I typed a paragraph or three on Facebook, and my hands of a sudden, became very painful; cramping up bigtime... I gave up trying to type.  Ideally I could stomp my foot, cuss, and move on. (But the stomp action would probably break something else)!
Even now, after these past 3 days adjusting my potassium intake, they still hurt- thankfully not as sharply as then...

OK. Here goes nuttin'...

Kathy's note was quickly followed by a reply from Sue W.:
"We all turned out to be amazing women!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another reply from Laurie L.:
"I second Sue, absolutely amazing! "
Adding also, "And a big thanks to everyone for their time and efforts!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

How does this possibly fit into a blog?
(and)
Where has this come from, you ask?
(Oh. Yes, you did).  And it does!
Read on...

I am sure that, by now, you are all aware of the trainwreck I raised.

Frickin' Freezin'

The temps are still dropping- I have my indoor/outdoor thermometer that reads 18 below zero- (Fahrenheit of course). By contrast when I woke this morning it was 13 below..
The "high" (if I can really call it that), is to be 12 below zero. With the wind-chill factor coming in between 30 and 50 below.

So, in my best Charles Emerson Winchester III voice I plead,
"Get me.. the hell.. out.. of.. here!"

Adding Salt. To Salt???

Isn't it ugly?
So tired of winter.

Hi all;
Or hi someone?
Anyone?
Oh, holy carp, but I swear I don't know how to blog anymore. (Heck with that, I barely even can type anymore either). hehehe
Life goes on.

It's has been a miserably l~o~n~g winter- My wonderful plow guy has just left once more, clearing the yard and the concrete of this godforsaken snow.  I am happy to have him. A better description might be 'very fortunate'.
He is such a good man- a hard worker. Married to Big Sam's sister, he is Lady Valerie's uncle too.

Long-winded again. Sorry...

Good Early Morning Everyone;
Odd isn't it how one can be busy, (mostly), yet have nothing truly new to add to a blog/story? What's up with that?

I have been fighting off this migraine for about 4 days now. Maybe that means it has almost run its course- Maybe not. (But I damn sure hope so).
Finally, on Wednesday I called to ask Casey if

Need HELP with Blogger vs Google plus

Good Morning Everyone;
Since I could not sleep after about 9:30 PM last night, I am very tired this morning.
Perhaps that is why I am not understanding this, from here

The topic is "Frequently asked questions about switching to a Google+ profile"

And the question is "If I switch to a Google+ profile and change my mind, can I switch back?"

Their answer:
You have the option of reverting to your Blogger profile for up to 30 days after you make the switch. After 30 days, your Blogger profile will be deleted and if you want to switch back, you will need to create a new Blogger profile.

Does this mean they will delete all of my stuff?

I would rather ask, than take a chance- (I see most of my friends etc are linked via my Google + profile).

Say it isn't so?

Best to grab a cup of coffee, or a nightcap.
It's kinda long... Sorry.

Dear Santa;
Please send me a Sony digital camera.
I am truly lost without mine.

Good Afternoon!!!
And happy Friday' to all who are here blogging/reading on our new site. I hope everyone has their sites, info, etc all migrated away from Multiply since Multiply will close very soon.

'As the tummy growls' ...
I am famished right now, and will catch you all up on my day shortly.  (But at this point, I am also way too tired to even think of cooking anything).

If you have read my previous notes on Multiply, then you already know that my car broke down eons ago...
Not really needing to go anywhere, I tried to ignore that specific dark cloud. Which was

Sue's Glenn, and My Garlic

Good Morning All;
Another new place to blog!
Imagine- In 2006 I began blogging at Yahoo 360, six years have gone by already! They (360) closed down and many of us sought refuge at Multiply. Having been given notice that Multiply bloggers are being outed to make room for their sales sites, I am now transporting my blogs over to here. (For now). There are well over 1000 blogs that need to be rescued and not forever buried in a cloud somewhere.

My friend Sue lost her husband on Sunday. He had a massive heart attack. He is a member of the Sno-Birds Snowmobile Club, and they were marking the trails for Winter. He fell down at

Reclast. Teeth. And Kvetch(ing) Up.

Good Sun-ny-Day!
Hope all is well with everyone who is still left around Multiply.
I am still setting up my other sites, so bear with me as I still blog over here.

Has everyone figured out where they will be in another month?
As for me, I am just hoping to still be alive. hehehe
Just kidding, although I did have surgery this past week... Outpatient- and never left the hospital until 10pm.
Long wait. Longer day.
But the anesthesiologist was a nice doctor; concerned enough even for my anxiety levels, an attack that was bound to happen if they left me sit in that cold dark room for any longer, just w~a~i~t~i~n~g...
That Casey waited with me made it very bearable, (and even halfway enjoyable).
At any rate, my teeth are gone! YAY! I have been bucking for this for a very long time; the thought of never having an abscess or another toothache ever again being very attractive to me.
Besides if Casey can do it, then so can I.

As you might know, my own problems arose in that I had received Reclast for my severe osteoporosis.
Reclast is a form of drug called a bisphosphonate.
With that drug classification comes the side effect of ONJ- (Osteo-Necrosis of the Jaw). Or, more accurately in my case, BrONJ (as Bisphosphonate-related).
My own clinic wouldn't even look in my mouth; let alone even do what was necessary to just circumvent my constant tooth pain. They sent me a 7-page list of dental surgeons who would be able to help. Since I do not live on the reservation, I would have to pay 100% of any/all referrals. Grrr...  Some of those surgeons were in Madison, some clear across the damned state.
You that know me, also know that there is NO Freakin' WAY I can travel those distances. I couldn't even go to Uncle Chum's funeral!

To add insult to injury, I called to Sault Ste Marie. My own Tribe wouldn't even help me! That truly, and absolutely, angers me!
This refusal, even after explaining that I have 27 fractures- & those are in my spine alone- all at various stages of healing- that there was no possible way for me to travel all the way up there- The gal that answered the phone was a very snippy and impertinent um, er, 'thing'.
Mad I am about that too- To be treated as garbage by my own Tribe!
I had asked her then for some other phone numbers. Our chairman for one- She flippantly told me I could make any number of calls I wanted, that the answer would just remain the same.
Blah Blah Blah...

I gave up- And moved on to begging people that I know love me.
Oh well- As long as the end always justifies the means, all should be ok.
Wait though- It ISN'T ok. Not by a long stretch. That was an awful experience in/of itself, and will stay with me for a very long time.
If tribes want to be treated with all this kindness then I think they should start with treating their own that way first. And it's not like I haven't been looking for a damned house on the rez.  (Yup, still mad I am). And I've always been so proud of my heritage, and my tribe...

Anyway, back to Wednesday. After that last anti-anxiety hypo (I do not remember how many times he came in), I remember virtually nothing; save for being told in the OR that I needed to wiggle on over to the other table. That process alone, with respect to my back, may have taken a little while, but I wiggled anyway.
I then remember, vaguely, seeing the surgeon before I was sent off to la~la~land.

I hear that he had some problems with one or two teeth; they didn't want to relinquish their hold within my face- But the next thing I remember is being in 'recovery'. And much like my complete hysterectomy in 2000, my pain was gone! But do not misunderstand, the surgeon had 'froze' my mouth up so much that I couldn't even feel a 6" square of my face- that of the surroundings of my mouth and nose.
Tooooooo weird that was! I hated that feeling.
From that point onward, we were back home within 2 hours- I'd (of course) gotten an awful migraine from the lack of caffeine- Casey had run down to the car to fetch those pills for me- As I took them I remember thinking, "OMG, please don't let me drool all over". I didn't. Not even a drip! But heck, how could I have? My mouth was stuffed full of gauze for cryin' out loud! hehehe

I have had minimal pain- more accurately just a 'sore' feeling in my mouth; my back is always worse, unless/until I get a migraine
Afterward, my surgeon had told Casey that if I had lived through those fractures that I probably wouldn't be bothered overmuch by my mouth. So right he was!  This is a breeze! I do take my meds though; just to remain on the painless side.
Now to wait for new teeth... Tick-tock...  Tick-tock... Tick-tock... Tick-tock.
I should be able to enjoy Thanksgiving, pies and all! Whoo~Hoo! That is, *if* the tribe will cover the new teeth!? They'd better! But watch, I'll probably have to borrow even more $$$ to get the special [padded] dentures needed because of my exposure to Reclast.

Too bad stem cells haven't progressed to the point that I can regrow my own teeth- I have every faith that in our kids lifetime that WILL be possible, just not in my own. But that's OK too. Much better for all my babies and grandbabies that way.

The surgeon also said from this point forward I can never even have an injury to my gums anymore. It could too easily set off an infection that would exacerbate the damage done by the BrONJ. No poppy seeds. No sesame seeds, etc.  Casey told me just never to take them out except for when I clean them.  Do dentures need to be brushed 3x day? Hmmm... ?  Probably.

Now the only thing I have to worry over (for 3+ years) is the progression of my BrONJ. (Bisphosphonate-related OsteoNecrosis of the Jaw, aka "Jaw Death"). The bisphosphonate responsible is the fookin' Reclast I received to treat my Osteo.
I cannot emphasize enough to everyone NOT to ever take any chemicals for Osteoporosis. All this BS, and worry, (from my kidneys to my GERD, to my teeth, to my ulcer, to my BrONJ, to prematurely bringing on my COPD) is hardly worth any potential value- (if there is indeed any good [click there] to come of taking the treatments). Especially knowing what I know now...
These drugs, (bisphosphonates) do more damage than they are suspect of curing/treating. Notice I did not say 'proven to be'. Just like any chemotherapy, Reclast, and all chemical osteoporosis treatments will remain in your body, effing things up, for 30+ years.
I was one of the "lucky" sarcasm  ones that it set off so much more garbage in my body. Even so, I remain luckier than some who have died terribly painful deaths as their bodies stopped working, one organ at a time. <--And that, within a few months of receiving their treatments.  My heart goes out to their families.
My own thoughts are that bisphosphonate treatments are government accepted, and legal, forms of warfare and torture to the patients.

The surgeon also asked if I had received Reclast by mouth or by IV. I had an infusion, so an IV. He said that with the bisphosphonate IV, there is a 10,000-fold increase of the possibility of ONJ, of losing half your jaw.
Great. Add more sarcasm

Though frightening in its entirety, I am looking forward to being able to go out in public, and smile, and talk again.
Not that a broken tooth could stop me, (but...)- hehehe

Let's see- What else has gone on in my vacation from blogging?
Lots.

My cousin Buttercup visited Green Bay last weekend- A seminar at Oneida- and right in Casey's backyard! Well ok, it was across the parking lot... I couldn't take pictures past the one at the top here. Tiffany sat in the front seat, and Casey in the back. Unwilling to be left out, Punk planted her backside right next to Casey-  Not a funny story unless you know that I had removed one of the back seats so Punk can still get in/out when her back is bothering her...

Casey and Punk; Sharing one seat!

Good thing that Casey has a skinny backside or that would never have worked! hehehe

Randy finally retired about 3 weeks ago! Say YAY! Much less worry this way.

Casey is doing alright, save for the near constant pain on her insides. Greg will be bringing her in tomorrow morning for another shot to her inside scar tissue.
I still can't remember what these shots are called- a type of "nerve block" that goes near to her liver.

Next to Casey and Greg, Punk remains such godsend in my life-
She takes care of me, and all for 2 measly meals every day plus a few leftovers. (Gee, remember when that was enough for people too)?
Sputty has his nose all flared up again, he sneezes (GROSS!) and then hightails it out of whatever room I am in. hehehe
Funny to watch sometimes- I swear he even tries to cover his mouth and nose; but so nice that he knows not to sneeze on/around my furniture!

The problem I had with my friend in my last blog is ongoing. Not a feud, mind you, just that nothing has been settled or fixed. I thought by now this person would be over the humiliation they put themselves through.
Sadly, I thought wrong. (I really do hate it when I'm wrong).

Fall is here, and without my camera our beautiful 2012 foliage must just remain in my memory, unshared with you. Most of the leaves are off the trees now, save for the oak trees- and they are such a deep mahogany- Nice to see that against a near-barren forest.

I have fresh chicken soup simmering on the stove- With my handy-dandy mini~chopper nearby. I'll only chop up my own servings as I don't think anyone else would care for baby food soup at this point. To remark that I am half-starved is not an exaggeration- merely the truth. One can only live on applesauce and pudding for so long. My tummy hasn't even growled yet- Perhaps it is in shock! hehehe  Even freezing the puddings, assorted though they are, doesn't fool my tummy for long.

I'd best close and go dump a few more veggies in my soup- There can never be enough of those in soup. But no potatoes as the bin is empty. No problem there, I just throw in extra chicken and a few more egg noodles!
Kelly brought over some squash the other night- She'd fed the dog while I was up at the hospital. I will be cooking that up too. Add salt, pepper, and a spoon- or 3- of brown sugar.
Mmmmmm.....

I do hope all is well with everyone? And that you are well and enjoying the changes of the season.
 Love to all

Me

Still Damned Mad!

Good Afternoon Everyone!
I haven't even gotten to read your replies from my last entry, but at this moment I have a big ole' favor to ask of you...

Read on...

I was SO proud of myself last night; mission accomplished, I did stay awake until the end of the game!
I am almost sorry I did so.

Earlier in the game, bored, I did a little channel-hopping. then I almost fell asleep. Fortunately Jerry called about 9, and so I was W-I-D-E awake then! (Thank you Jerry)!

Please take a minute, even if you didn't see it, to sign the petition below?

Love to all

PS
My own thoughts are if they cannot end this strike, then we need to hold off playing ALL games until such an accord is reached.
The league is way off base holding this over the refs heads anyway.
If you want a little background, the league wants all the refs, as part of their pact, to ensure that this will be their only full-time job. The league is not willing to pay them for this though.
They work one a week for cryin' out loud! And most have full time
 jobs already!
Go figure.

Go PACK!!!!

Here's what I rec'd in my email...

The National Football League (NFL) has locked out its official referees over a contract dispute. Three weeks into the season, replacement referees are still on the field.

In last night's game of the Green Bay Packers against the Seattle Seahawks, the replacement refs ruled that the Seahawks caught a game-winning touchdown, when it was clear the Packers had intercepted the ball. And the Packers lost because of it.

The NFL's use of replacement referees threatens the integrity of the game and could lead to serious player injuries. We need the most competent, highly trained officials on the field immediately. With the NFL making more than $9 billion a year in revenue, it seems like it's within their ability to come to an agreement with referees over a pension plan, which has been the biggest issue resulting in referees being locked out of a contract.

UPDATE: There were numerous blown calls in Week 1.
The NFL needs to end this farce before a game is unfairly decided or a player is injured.

UPDATE 2: Well, the worst has come to pass.
The NFL's use of replacement referees has cost a team the game. Sorry, Packers fans.
The NFL clearly cares more about $ than about providing an honest game.

If the NFL gets away with this one, they can get away with anything. How long before a player is seriously hurt because of incompetent officiating?

We MUST get as many fans to sign this as we can.
Please SIGN and SHARE! The more of us who are united, the more noise we can make!

Frazzled and Frayed

Good Afternoon All;
Knock, knock... Is anyone here?
I don't know how many of you are still around since Multiply seems to be nearly defunct already. (And with over 2 months yet to go that they have promised to stay open). I have much yet to retreive from my site- blogs and such- and am hoping that by the time I do get 'er up and running that the kinks will be worked out of this export program... I see more than a few posts complaining of that export system yet, so, even with my dial-up I will be patient. If i have too many problems I shall have to beg Mr. Greg to do it for me. *sigh*  Wonder how sick and tired he will be of me, and my computersaurus after that? Glad it takes TONS to make him be upset enough to even cuss... hehehe

Casey's surgery (hysteroscopy) is over; though I am SO sorry to say I couldn't go. Grrrrrrrr...  My car decided that this was the proper morning to pee antifreeze all over the garage floor. Damn, hey? (and I'd only wanted to warm it up a little as the chilly air hurts to be breathed in)! After that, I wasn't going to take a chance on driving in the hopes of getting there on time.

Fortunately for everyone involved, Greg had previously taken today off. He was planning on bringing her anyway, so all that was left was for everyone to miss my presence. hehehe
I should have just said, "Thank God for Greg" and been done with it. I can't tell you how many times in the past few months that I have told Casey to tell him exactly that. I hope she has passed it on every time.

She called here about an hour ago, saying that they were back home- She sounded absolutely WUNNAFUL!!!
Of course she is sore, and more than a little hungry. They stopped at Fazoli's on the way home, and picked some food up so they could enjoy a late lunch/ early supper. Sounds good.

With my car in need of my mechanic hindsight tells me that I should have bought more the last time I went grocery shopping. Oh well. I can make do with whatever I have on hand. Mostly.
Oh Lordy i am so tired. And it is [still] going be a very LONG evening- That is, *if* I stay awake for the Packer Game. I shall try.

Not much other news around here- Though I am still perplexed by a phone call of apology I'd received from a friend 2 weeks ago...
I will go into that at a later posting. Suffice to say that I don't take being screamed at too well. And my heart is ONLY capable of taking BS for a time- Then it simply gives up. This time it gave up by simply hanging up.
But like I said, that will keep.
For now.
The important thing today was to keep everyone up-to-date about my little CaseyAnne.

My love to all.

XOXO
Me

PS
Do
 let me know if you will be still around this site for a while?
And please, also let me know where I will be able to find you after Multiply closes for good?
I do have a few of your destinations already, but no everyones...

HELP!? (This is almost gross).

Hi all;
Nothing like being unable to go to bed last night-

I had just gotten refreshed, my PJ's on- and came out of the bathroom to see this piss yellow river going across my kitchen.
Yes, my house has always leaned a little to the east.  hehehe

Punk was over in the LR on her rug, just watching this crap turn to a stinkin' little puddle.
Since both animals were in the house, I assumed one of them had peed, although that has NEVER happened before.

I grabbed a paper towel, mopped a bit of it up, and gingerly took a sniff. (There is a distinct difference between cat piss and dog pee).

But the smell was neither. It was "off" somehow- A bit of a rancid smell, combined with something terribly spoiled .
Following it 'upstream', it was coming out of my cupboard!  ?!?!
A raccoon?!? Something else?
Afraid to open the cupboard door lest something come out and bite me, I hit the door a few times to make a LOUD noise- (Sure to startle any pissin' thing in there).

Nothing moved.

By this time, Punk was ready to do battle- She picks up my emotions so very well-

She stood guard (behind me). hehehe  Sputty had been woken too; thinking my loud knocks were company- He went over to the door; sat and waited.

Slowly, slowly, slowly I opened that door...

Very, VERY s--l--o--w--l--y...

...

Burst can in cupboard. (Texsun, left)

It peed in my cupboard!!!

What the burst OJ leakage did to an onion peel...

This is a lost onion peel that I hadn't bothered to pick up from earlier in the day. Look how blackened it is-
And, no, it didn't take me that long to change, & brush my teeth and hair.

What causes this to happen?
And what, pray tell, can happen to us as we inhaled the fumes, (which were nasty to say the least).

In advance I thank you for letting me know... (Um- You DO know, don't you)?!?

Although I am very thankful that I can still boast that my animals have not had any accidents, I have never ever had this happen before.
I must vamoose for now!

XOXO
Me

I will post a little question for you first... as another blog hits the drafts folder. Grrr... Have an eye doc appointment- Will try to post later (if my damned head is behaving). Love to all. XOXO, Me

Additional Cantaloupe, and Honeydew Melons RECALLED

http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm315248.htm
Recall -- Firm Press Release
Note: *The FDA does not endorse either the product or the company.

Burch Equipment LLC, North Carolina, is expanding its recall to include all of this growing season's cantaloupes and honeydew melons that may remain on the market because they may possibly be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. There have been no illnesses reported to date.

Listeria monocytogenes (L. monocytogenes bacterium). In the United States, an estimated 2,500 people become seriously ill with listeriosis each year.1
  • In pregnant women, the infection can result in miscarriage, premature delivery, serious infection of thenewborn, or even stillbirth.

Healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
The incubation period (the length of time between consuming a product and becoming ill) for Listeria monocytogenes can be 1 to 3 weeks, but may be in the range of 3 to 70 days.

The whole cantaloupes are identified by a red label reading Burch Farms referencing PLU # 4319. All cantaloupes involved in the recall were grown by Burch Farms, however some of the cantaloupes may have been identified with a "Cottle Strawberry, Inc." sticker referencing PLU #4319 (note: Cottle Strawberry, Inc. did not grow or process the cantaloupe involved in this recall). Cantaloupes from Burch Farms were shipped in both corrugated boxes (9 cantaloupe per case) and in bulk bins.

Honeydew melons involved in this recall expansion do not bear any identifying stickers and were packed in cartons labeled melons.

Consumers who may have purchased these honeydew melons should contact the store where they purchased their melons, for information about whether those melons are part of this recall.

The cantaloupes and honeydew melons involved in this expanded recall were sold to distributors between June 23rd and July 27th, in the following states: FL, GA, IL, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, and VA, VT and WV. The melons may have further been distributed to retail stores, restaurants and food service facilities in other states."

Burch Equipment LLC is requesting any consumer that may have one of these cantaloupes or honeydews to discard the product.

There have been no illnesses reported to date. FDA and the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services are working with Burch Equipment LLC following a random sample of a cantaloupe testing positive for Listeria monocytogenes.

This recall expansion is based on FDA's finding of Listeria monocytogenes on a honeydew melon grown and packed by Burch..

Questions can be directed to Burch Equipment LLC at 910-267-5781 Monday through Friday, (9:00am to 4:00pm) or email burch@intrstar.net.
